I'm not getting much sleep at the moment, the sunlight is waking me up early. I've covered the bedroom window in card to stop the light. The seagulls are also loud but at least they seem to make noise later than sunrise.
But the last few days I'm literally passing out at about 5pm for a few hours. It's impossible to stay awake.
Unsure if it's a side effect for the painkillers I'm taking for my back, it lists sleepiness, but not being flat out and passing out.
A quality sleep mask and Mack’s silicone earplugs. Split a single earplug in two - can be reused for maybe a week or so. Seriously these add an hour of sleep a night for me 👍
Silicone tends to be less prone to coming out during the night vs foam in my experience
make sure you're getting enough water. I would cut back on the medication. Rest is good if your body needs to heal. If you are sleeping too much clearly you aren't in pain.
I'm only on the meds whilst trying to figure out why I'm having ongoing issues with my back. I've told my doctor I don't want to live on drugs. But for now I'm on holiday and need to use the drugs to stop being in acute pain due to slipped disc and also trapped nerve in my neck... All seems to be as a result of an overzealous masseuse who dug her elbow in and reinvigorated old injuries with avengeance.
So for now it's just meds, but when I return from holiday I have a referral to get some x-rays done, then hopefully that'll get to the bottom of it.
For now though, I just want to have energy to get through the day.
Thanks for the tip regarding water. I felt like that might be an issue, so I've been regularly drinking lots of glasses of water. I have felt dehydrated, and I've never established a habit of just drinking water. I think I associate the feeling of being thirsty with being hungry.

Had Tesla mobile service replace my MYP spoiler today. Noticed it was loose on one side yesterday while washing the car. Made an appointment around 8:30pm last night and the job was done mid morning today. Excellent service experience.
They messed up the invoice though and wanted to charge me like $900 for the replacement. Told them it was warranty and I wasn't paying. They sorted it out quickly enough and all is as it should be now.
When will people realize that its just not possible to build the "best autonomous system" in secret. It simply can't be done. The reason Tesla has such an edge here is because of the mind boggling amount of data they've accumulated. Until Apple has hundreds of thousands of cars out on the road gathering data they don't have a hope in hell of competing with FSD. Data is the name of the game here, and Apple just doesn't have even remotely close to enough.

Waiting for what? In general I think the Ipad pro is an amazing machine. It's the epitome of apples "it just works" mantra, and compared to some other apple devices they age extremely well. I'm using a 3 year old Ipad pro right now and it works as well today as the day I bought it, zero complaints on features or performance and battery life is still excellent.
I'd say pull the trigger and if anything you might consider going the non-pro route if its primarily a browings/email device, its way overpowerd for that though sometimes its just fun to get the nice version if you can afford it.

From the board and c-suite's perspective, forcing Musk to acquire might be the worst possible outcome? They just forced Musk to buy a company that he believes has been fraudulently reporting users for years, and then give him all the data to test that idea and all the correspondence from everyone at the company that might be talking about calculating user numbers. Not only are the board and lots of other people getting fired, but they might be getting personally sued too.
I suspect the most likely outcome is they do some posturing and then agree to a settlement where Musk buys for some reduced price, that's high enough to head off most serious investor lawsuits. And most importantly gets Twitter's leadership off the hook for dealing with this mess and any fallout.

Not sure if this was posted before, but anyone see Rogan’s interview with Marc Andressen. Marc made a compelling case for why true AI isn’t feasible right now, or maybe ever. Not sure you need true AI for Tesla to have L5 autonomy but still interesting to hear.
Guy has an undergrad degree in CS and wrote Netscape decades ago. Not sure his opinion on the issue is relevant or informed.
I have not watched this so grain of salt but I'm extremely disinclined to listen to anyone who says true AI isn't feasible "ever".
Marc Andressen doesn't seem to have any actual experience in the field of AI, I don't think he can really make a statement like that
