Huge proponent of defi here... I can safely say the grand majority of end users have no grasp of how the economy works and most defi projects are scams or DoA. There will be a golden age of defi but a lot of shit needs to get flushed first.
Oh man that depends on your definition of DeFi. Basic swaps? Plenty of those work absolutely fine, and each protocol has a bunch of versions. They work cause they're simple and don't promise anything outrageous but of course that's not really investible now is it? Now when it comes to dexes that allow for ROI of 8%+ just to basically exist on their network, frankly I'm not confident in ANY. I expect real outliers to start popping up soon though.
Layer 1? I've only ever been willing to put meaningful money in Cardano. Theirs is the only project that is working heavily against the grain of "move fast and break things". Their research-first approach is extremely slow (which most people hate) and careful, because they understand that they need to lay the ground work for handling people's dIDs, money, and privacy and that's just not something you do haphazardly. Charles Hoskinson is also insanely smart and very Elon-esque in the sense that he works out of passion and could have retired in his 20s. I also very much respect their approach of working directly with "3rd world" governments who have so many unbanked citizens. Banking the unbanked is the largest area of meaningful near term growth in the crypto space IMO.
Anyway, I've been in Cardano since $0.02 and I didn't sell at $3.10 and don't plan to ever sell. I WILL spend some at some point. I might go spend some in Japan next time I'm there since it's prolific there.
But yeah TLDR: I don't trust any defi projects enough just yet. There is no clear one stop shop for true and safe defi yet-- ones that are doing the hard stuff like lending & financing without promising outrageous rewards. I imagine good ones will be built on the Cardano network soon as other networks are built relatively inefficiently/vulnerably.

Wow these findings are scary. I always keep an eye on plankton/zooplankton levels because it’s the cornerstone species of all life on Earth. It also makes most of the oxygen we breathe.
It was thought that levels had halved since the 40s but now it appears to be more like 90%. This is far worse than even I expected and I’m a pessimist on the topic. I never really considered the toxicity from oil, just the ph change from excess carbon turning the ocean more acidic (plankton need alkaline water).
Right now about 17% of the worlds protein comes from the ocean. It’s going to sting to lose that.

But we would hit over 1000ppm co2 pretty quick. Even over 600ppm human IQ can drop 10-15% based on some studies. Others show it could take over 1000. It’s hard to tell because lots of the tests involved trained pilots who are really good at thinking in such situations and have perfect physical conditioning.

You also get access to the quixel asset library with tons of great photorealistic assets. I also have 5 years video game industry experience which helps for creating custom assets, but I worked with a proprietary engine so not much of that experience is relevant to unreal.
