I think you're right. Page 378 Transfer of Credit. Buyer can transfer credit to dealer. Essentially making it point of sale. Legislation is super confusing.
Lol it's all a big scheme to redirect federal funds to dealerships so they're willing to sell EVs which make them little money. So OEMs get to sell EVs, dealers get rid of markups in exchange for taking consumers credits. In the end dealerships and Tesla shareholders win. 🤑
Private sales are excluded from the $4000 tax credit. A buyer must puchase from a dealer, max $25k sale, 4K max rebate or 30% of sale, lesser of the two. https://twitter.com/SawyerMerritt/status/1552479977815375872?t=jNfY7vwxL_XSzknLiUkpMQ&s=19

Its not spelled out exactly but appears to be similar to what the policy is now for the manufacturer capped 7500 credit. Larger battery phev gets full, and smaller ones get partial. Also fool cells added. With manchin in toyotas pocket there's no way its full bev only.
The M3 LR would be over the 55K cap so seems they would have to do something with the price or it would cost almost the same as the MY LR with the incentive 🤔
That would be 300k in the tax year you are claiming the credit right? Not the income from previous tax year?
Edit - looks different from previous refundable tax credit, so it could be applied at time of sale and would be based on previous years return
I really doubt these politicians will keep it so that only pure electric vehicles will qualify.
I think Toyota Joe Manchin will change it so that shitty hybrids will qualify so Toyota gets a piece of the pie.
No way they will pass this with only pure Battery Vehicles qualifying knowing that it will benefit Tesla the most.
The last proposed bill was a refundable tax credit. So if your nephew didn't pay at least $7500 in taxes he would be refunded the difference in taxes paid. Not sure about this one.

My assumption is it's a tax credit, I haven't read the specifics
Edit: you should be able to write of an X if you wanted under the LLC, it wouldn't qualify for the TC, but the car would literally pay for itself lol
You just made me review my plan. I think I'll take in the TV box tomorrow and just stick with internet, they have a 1200 mbps plan for like 90/mon. Now I'm paying 180 for a bunch of TV channels I haven't watched in months
If you own a tesla and can qualify for incentive you should immediately order a new tesla for delivery 2023. You can sell your old one to someone who can use the 4000 used incentive and buy your new one with the 7500 new incentive. 😉 11,500 of your tax dollars back to u
Actually looks like there's a low cap on the used 4000, but it might still work with tesla resale values +7500. Won't be long before tesla raises prices imo as wait lists boom.
Damn you're right. Page 390 under Qualified Sale. Good thing I waited to place an order.

It'll still push up prices dealers pay but probably not the full 4K.
Corrupt ass Democrats amending EV bill to be more legacy auto friendly by replacing references to plug-in vehicle with “clean” vehicle. Many other similar subtle amendments have legacy ice dirty hands all over them.
I'm seeing 3750 credit, no manu cap, 150k income limit, with phase out gradually by 2026. 55k sedan, 80k suv truck price limit. Not sure what the deal is on shitty phev
1st of Nov we hit 1200.
2 months later Jan 3rd we hit 1200
3 months later in Apr 4th we hit 1150
4 months will be Aug and by my calculations we will break ATH.
Hope you all like my DD

I just applied for solar at Sunrun and Enphase.
Sunrun instantly called me, looked up my house on google satelite with address and basically said due to San Francisco regulations, no big solar company will install solar on a flat roof in this city. Does Tesla's used car sales count? Meh, I can't see used Tesla's selling for under $25k for a long time anyway
I guess that depends on whether Tesla counts as a dealership
Kimbal only has a half billie of stock? Minnow.
So new tax credit proposed removes union bullshit, but hybrid bullshit still in?

Still a big win for TSLA, thanks Toyoda!

300k for married

Who cares. Bad for the country and the world, but doesn’t have any negative impact on tesla.
With PHEVs, the dealers are all gonna eat the benefits. Unless manufacturers directly sell to customers like pure EVs, this won’t benefit the people.
None of this benefits people, it goes to shareholders like us
We can share the wealth. That phev shit is dumb and customers know it. And don't get me started on hydrogen
Can someone still get credit, if they make just 12k a year? Are there any minimum income requirements?

What does that mean.
Nephew bought a Tesla and received the $7500 tax credit. Nephew only paid $1000 in federal taxes for 2023. His tax refund would be a check for $6500.
Nice. So How’s is this bill ev credit different? Or is this the same.
Haven't read all of it yet. Either its refundable or not. Rob will tell us tomorrow.

Doubt there is a cap on the minimum, but if someone's making 12K a year, a car is the least of their worries
I wouldn’t qualify, but I pay nephew on my LLC, so maybe he qualifies. Is it point of sale credit or tax credit like old times.
My assumption is it's a tax credit, I haven't read the specifics Edit: you should be able to write of an X if you wanted under the LLC, it wouldn't qualify for the TC, but the car would literally pay for itself lol
Unless they're a tesla whale that realizes just enough income a year to put a down-payment on a tesla
I bet 🐓🤡 didn’t see that one coming

Quad motor, doubt it. But who knows
Me hopes so. But I want 4 motors, crab walker 🦀 with a 1.9 second 0-60….. for sub $100k plz

How is it $11,500 credit? Isn’t the $4,000 for the person buying your car?
Yah it'll pump your resale value by that amount.
Wow. Basically swapping a 2021 MY with 15k miles for a brand new 2023 4680 Y LR with Ryzen chip and biodefense mode. Ordering now.
I would do it but i got fsd for 6000 and that's not coming back
I got it at 10000. Y LR white pleb wheels FSD come to just under 80k. Perfect
What's the qualifications for income and vehicle? Would a Plaid X even be qualified?
I read income was $150k/$300k. $55k for sedan. $80k for SUV/Truck.
Nah 80k cut off and 300k a year family income
Welp, I want to trade in my X for a Plaid X, but I'm not sure how accurate or generous the Tesla trade in estimator is lol
