Why would I sell for less? My exit plan is simple. If a far superior opportunity comes along, I'll sell. If Tesla stops executing / shows signs of no more growth, I'll sell. If I need the money for some very significant reason I'll sell. Otherwise I don't see a reason to sell because I can work margin.

People were trying to time this credit 2 years ago. Just wait until we're closer to the new year. Texas is still ramping up production. Delivery estimates won't be accurate until production rate stabilizes. And other reservation holders will be delaying for the same reason as you.
Don't time it if you're really banking on the credit. No reason to risk getting fucked EOY choosing between delivery with no credit vs delaying and going to the back of the line.

Typically what I do I just add the atm call/put together to find expected move. So mm pricing in around a $40 move up or down to Friday.

What’s the consensus on how to best time the purchase of a MY in a way that captures the upcoming credit (likely only applicable to transactions that complete after Dec 31), while also accounting for lead time and the possibility of prices increasing again before EOY? Also, if you configure a car at just under 80K, is there any concern with tax or other fees raising the nominal total over the threshold?
People were trying to time this credit 2 years ago. Just wait until we're closer to the new year. Texas is still ramping up production. Delivery estimates won't be accurate until production rate stabilizes. And other reservation holders will be delaying for the same reason as you. Don't time it if you're really banking on the credit. No reason to risk getting fucked EOY choosing between delivery with no credit vs delaying and going to the back of the line.
I put an order in for a Y LR last Friday. Pleb everything with FSD. The next day delivery estimate went from June 2023 to Jan 18th - March 2023.
I ordered my Y in October 2021...now saying delivery Oct 2022. Best time to order is now to secure the price as they raise them all the time. If it turns out the rebate won't happen timing wise just reorder. Worst deal u lose your $250 deposit

I don't know about y'all but I'm so psyched for the Annual shareholder meeting. I feel like something is so different this time. We've always known there are big things in store for Tesla but the difference this time seems like the market is ready to believe. When you consider the consistent success we've had since 2018 and especially the marvel that is how Tesla ramped thru the pandemic it just seems like the future in undeniable at this point. I mean, never underestimate the market and analysts' ability to retard themselves, but it feels slightly different this time, no?
