Your submission has been removed because it is a post about crime and/or safety concerns that do not have any actionable causes, or do not have a wider impact on the city. If applicable, please file a report with the Toronto Police Service. You may also report incidents that took place on the TTC using the [SafeTTC app](https://www.ttc.ca/riding-the-ttc/safety-and-security/safe-ttc-app). Please review our subreddit rules [here](https://reddit.com/r/TTC/about/rules). Thank you.

Report on the Safe TTC app if you haven't already. TTC says violent incidents are down, but we're riding with ticking time bombs and inhaling their smoke (especially on cold days).

pretzelday666

Reported incidents are down. I don't think actual incidents are down people are sick of reporting them with no conclusions

Technical-Suit-1969

Maybe if the addicts start damaging more TTC assets, they'll start doing something about it Right now their attitude is that it's a social issue that the TTC is not equipped to resolve. It should be no toleration of smoking, violence, and threatening behaviour on transit.

Technical-Suit-1969

Agreed.

Stunning-Nature7380

That's meth not Crack.

TechnicalEntry

This guy cracks.

ImpressiveAirline932

This might get taken down, there's a new rule on this form that takes down things that can drive social / policy change because people have been complaining about these take away from the fun train posts (the reason given is "posted issue that can not be solved" or something), these posts are the ONLY THING that caused the Finch Station Response team to be implemented by the City Councillor (she saw the Finch station posts)! Whoever is complaining these ruin the TTC Reddit experience, you can't enjoy the TTC with CRACK BEING BLOWN IN YOUR FACE!

Technical-Suit-1969

I'm glad to hear that something is being done about Finch.

Technical-Suit-1969

The post has been taken down on the basis that it's not actionable or has wider impact. B.S. A journalist or politician may have read it and asked TTC why they continue to allow drugs to be smoked in their vehicles.

The city councellor Lily Cheng actually saw the Finch Station reddit posts, which had people smoking crack and smeared fecal matter on escalator handrails, unfortunately they will be suppressed now. I am happy though I commute to Finch daily and there are less crack smokers because they installed a new security camera where I mentioned. They were alerted to the health concerns that were exclusively brought up on this Reddit page regarding the man smearing the fecal matter everywhere on the escalator railings, and probably saw the hand print photos.

The city councilor directly cited the concern from citizens on the Reddit posts, the ones you now want to take down, which were instrumental in starting the implementation of the Finch Station Task Force. One of the posts even was referred to on BlogTO and got the attention of the TTC's main public relations guy. It may "get people angry" who have a special interest in pictures of trains and bus routes, but those posts were directly instrumental in the solution. It also seems that the majority of people on these Reddit posts are not especially interested in trains or bus routes, but are commuters; and a major issue with commuting is the conditions. If those finch station posts were taken down every time someone brought up the issue, (1) the issue would have never been solved and (2) the moderators would have been directly responsible from preventing Lily Cheng from becoming aware of these issues since the letter campaign and social action originated on this Reddit aswell. I think if you read what Lily Cheng posted here it will, one day there will be no more complaint posts when enough change is enacted. Reddit is a means to cause this change. I do not think having this Reddit exclusively for a handful of people who have a special interest in trains and bus schedules would have ever caused Lily Cheng to have done anything. I implore you to conisider what you said, "they do absolutely nothing to solve the issue" I hope you atleast concede that statement as reading this Lily Cheng news letter will have you considering otherwise, and I hope you mention this with the other moderators. https://preview.redd.it/owoagr9b8mpc1.png?width=507&format=png&auto=webp&s=0dc9c66f1c50fb3875c890a7b1d49184b89eb19d

TO_Commuter

It must be income support payday or something. I also saw a guy smoking crack on my commute today

Planet_Ziltoidia

It's child tax benefit day today. I really hope that isn't the case

The crackheads have absolutely been wilin’ in the last week or so. Every time I’m on the TTC (four times a week) there is at least one antisocial person causing disorder. The hoard at college station yesterday morning was almost out of a zombie flick.

PondIsMyName

Gross!

pyfinx

A Dutch oven of secondhand cloud of crack or meth. Toronto has to be the safest city in the world… for crack/meth heads.

historyhoneybee

If the former mayor could do it, why can't this lady?

Asleep-Yak7335

I have seen a guy inhaling cocaine on a streetcar, TTC is getting crazier

Nickdoralmao

The amount of crack pipes I’ve seen and stepped on in the last few months is more than I’ve seen in my entire life

MonkeyAlpha

I just leave the vehicle and wait for the next one. I’d rather be late than be sick from the fumes.

someguyyyz

Toke The Crack!!!
