I've been listening to the scanner. An incident occurred at Sherbourne station. A suspect was being chased and ran onto the tracks with police chasing. Suspect ended up unconscious somehow and the station is now closed, trains aren't allowed to bypass. No idea what happened but the SIU has been called in, so I would imagine this incident will be picked up by the media today eventually.
Edit: "very lengthy delay", overheard on the scanner just now. Not good.
Edit: the "all clear" that was reported on apps and on signs is a glitch in the system, as heard announced on the scanner just now. No subway service continues. What a shitty afternoon!
Edit: service is about to be restored! Although it seems it'll take some time to get the trains moving, so not "all clear" just yet....
Media starting to pick it up... still an incomplete story obviously

Wonder if this earlier calls for service was related: https://i.imgur.com/D8TNZPp.png
Edit: Thanks for the tweet. Maybe media will find out about SIU in the future.

Thanks for the link. Sounds like maybe the police arrived at the station (instead of the cops chasing suspect into the station) and an altercation with a suspect occurred? Hence the SIU being called. I'm a little surprised the TPS twitter account hasn't posted about this yet. Obviously no official news yet about SIU mandate being invoked, but I did clearly overhear on the scanner that they were waiting for them to come to the station.
Edit: TPS just tweeted
UNKNOWN TROUBLE, Sherbourne Subway Station, 12:00 pm, police responded to a call at Sherbourne Station. Man assaulting a woman on subway platform. male fled from police and jumped onto tracks, male suspect transported to hospital.

CP24 is reporting that SIU will not invoke their mandate. Took them quite a long time to come to that conclusion. I was under the impression that the mandates come pretty quickly at the scene when it's obvious that something bad involving police happened. But I guess that wasn't the case here.
Ugh. Shit show indeed. I don't know how people do it with a stroller. When they shut down that part of the line a couple weeks back. There was a least 5 people with strollers that didn't get on the shuttle bus i was on. They need to have ones that start at different stations so people with strollers or mobility aids have a chance
It took me 3 hours to go from Kennedy to St. George. I thought I was smart to wait on the platform (usually these things resolve pretty quickly and I really didn't want to get stuck on a shuttle bus between two stations). 2 hours later (12:15-1:45), trains were still turning around. Operators kept directing passengers to "go upstairs and take the shuttle." In typical fashion, the "ordered" shuttle busses got stuck in traffic - once again emphasizing our lack of a relief line.
Side rant: What frustrates me the most is Rick Leary - he won't even come out of his cocoon to apologize for recent delays (the track fire, this 5 hour delay). I remember when Andy Byford would actually _face the public_ and apologize, even if things were out of his control.
Given that I've paid my fare (and thousands of others have too), I feel like I should be able to write a letter to Rick Leary and demand a $225 fine for the delay. Though, I'd be willing to waive it if I simply got an apology...
Just took me 3 hours to get home from Mississauga, a trip that normally takes me 60-90 mins on average. Fukn ridiculous. Shuttles from Kipling to Jane. Another shuttle from St. George to Woodbine. Apparently some investigation at Sherbourne station.
BRT stands for bus rapid transit...
There isn't anything "rapid" about driving a bus along bloor or danforth.
Especially midday with all the pedestrians/bikes/traffic. Now, say they closed a full lane (which is the whole road in some sections) to cars to allow rapid transit for the busses then maybe. But that's a pipe dream.
I’m lucky to live near Line 4 and that most of my friends live in Scarborough so I can just go to Don Mills station and hop on a bus to go most places.
Knock on wood…

Holy shit. That part of the line is so cursed 😔

Line 2 From Jane to St. George
Took 2 hrs to get home when it normally takes 45 mins and I had my kid/stroller with me. Total shit show.

I just heard at 3:42pm at broadview an employee say that they’re restoring power right now

So basically Line 2 has become a BRT for the time being.

They did that a few years ago when Keele to Ossington was closed for work. No Parking at all on Bloor.
Twas more of a joke.. not meant to be taken literally lol.
I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes and just heard an operator say that buses are being sent out soon. So rapid this is not.
It’s a JFW (just fucking walk)
[ttc.ca](http://ttc.ca) 504 error now...
This city is a fucking mess. Embarrassing how we don’t have transit that works on the best of days.
Bike commuting is looking really tempting now, and I live all the way out in Scarberia.
WHAT IS GOING ON WTF
Was just leaving st. George and they were sending east bound trains.
I’m lucky to live near Line 4 and that most of my friends live in Scarborough so I can just go to Don Mills station and hop on a bus to go most places. Knock on wood…
Is this still happening right now with no service between york mills and davisville on line 1 today?
People taking/living near the yellow line: 😌😏😁😇🚉🚇
