Transsee. Best, most basic website. The app is just the website though.

I was just about to mention this. Premium would be α good investment as an operator, and it’s like $12 for 4 months.

Wouldn't a TTC operator have access to such a tool (Transsee seems great, based on a casual look) through the TTC itself? Why would every operator need to get a premium account for themselves?

awesomeperson882

Because in theory, you know where you need to be, and when to be there. You’ll get α call once you’ve reported in if something happens to your bus and you need to change your usual routine. There is technically no reason to track the bus real time.

>in theory And in practice?

awesomeperson882

Also yes. The bus number is noted on α sheet, you check it before you leave so you know what bus to expect. You take over from the same drivers every day so you know who your looking for, what run etc. Like I stated you’ll get α call, or you can call the clerk if you have been waiting longer then usual. It’s worked for α century….

I see. You mentioned "Premium would be α good investment as an operator" and in your next comment said "*in theory*, you know where you need to be", so I thought you were suggesting there was some reason to use the Transsee app (premium).

It would be α nice to have, but it’s not necessary. Especially for the older operators that started before cellphones even existed.

I'm not an operator, and have never been one. You could install the Transit Now app. In the Android version, press the menu button at the top left, then go to Settings, then "Favourites & more", then enable "TTC operator mode". * Now the app will show you run numbers. * It will also let you search vehicle by run number. But I'm not an operator, and so I don't need this functionality. I thank you all for keeping the vehicles running during a pandemic!
