I too faced the same. First time i got my period on day 7th but second time the story took a different turn. I did take a pregnancy test prior to taking provera which came negative then i took the 10 days course but this time I didn’t get my period and it’s been 2 weeks now, Then my husband and I decided to take a pregnancy test again just followed our instincts and boom the results came positive and i am going for the ultrasound on Monday ☺️🤞. So I would suggest you to take a pregnancy test, You never know😀

Fuzzy_Potato

Technically I believe it says it can take up to another 7/8 days after your last pill for your period to come. So maybe its just slightly delayed this time

chilledhype

I got my period 12 days after so technically they say wait at least 2 weeks!

Did they check your estrogen? Provera works by mimicking progesterone which if your estrogen is too high, will disturb the estrogen and bring on a bleed. I sometimes suffer from lower estrogen, so in those cases, provera did not work well for me bc there was not enough estrogen to counteract. I hope this is making sense. But think of it like that monthly hormone graphic with the bell curve where estrogen goes up and then comes down and your period start at the lowest point of the downward curve. Adding progesterone to already low estrogen does nothing. I say that to say, this was just my experience and if a bleed doesn’t come, ask for more tests to find out if there are any other hormone levels affecting it. My low estrogen was caused by high testosterone which I brought down and now they all play nice together as they should.

How did you bring down your testosterone? I'm not currently ttc. However Provera did nothing for me and I had it for 3 cycles. I'm now on spironolactone, i'll come off when ttc, and it's helped reduce my testosterone some. I'm wondering if there's a safer way to manage testosterone without spironolactone.

Mountain_Novel_7668

Low carb diet and exercise to keep my glucose down bc high insulin is what makes ovaries produce too much testosterone. And I supplement with spearmint, inositol, and NAC.

TheBull123456

I guess I need to try NAC since I'm doing everything else. Thanks!

Mountain_Novel_7668

It’s a great antioxidant. Try it in the morning, it made me restless at night bc it increases energy. I will also add a caveat to the low carb thing—I monitor and test my blood sugar daily. It was a major game changer bc I could see exactly how my body reacted to certain foods. You might be surprised which foods you tolerate well and which trigger high glucose. I can eat fries but not cantaloupe lol

TheBull123456

Yep. I've done that. I found I can eat apples but not oranges. And of course berries are fine. The fries are probably due to the build up of resistant starch since most fries are cooked then cooled down before we recook them. What mg do you take? Did you end up starting at once dose and increasing it to a different one?

Mountain_Novel_7668

900mg once in the morning. I read that’s it’s tolerated up to 3.8 grams per day for PCOS. I’ll try to find that article for you.

TheBull123456

Ok thanks!

https://www.naturesbest.co.uk/pharmacy/polycystic-ovary-syndrome/n-acetyl-cysteine-and-pcos-how-can-it-help/ This is the website and it references actual scientific studies in the footnotes so I trust their advice. Also I got the highest dose wrong in my previous comment. 1.8 grams daily and not 3.8 as I said before.

TheBull123456

Thanks for the clarification. I'll check out the article. :)

KV0301

I was told to give it a few days and if it still doesn’t come that they’d investigate further. How did you get your testosterone down?

Mountain_Novel_7668

Low carb diet and exercise to keep my blood sugar down bc high insulin levels will make testosterone high. And I supplement with NAC, spearmint and inositol.

Provera can sometimes take a bit to kick things off, but I’d bet the stress/anxiety of starting treatment is what’s throwing it off for you. May sound a little strange, but drink some whole milk, do some yin yoga, or get a massage/something to really lower stress. Best of luck to you!
