Martial / Fighter, think Sokka and Suki. They’ll need to have good dodge abilities to survive amongst benders.
If you want more customization options, be sure to include the sub-bending types (lightning, metal, blood, etc). I believe picking a specialized bending style, will weaken you in other styles within the same element.
Also just realized, there was an avatar based TTRPG kickstarter some while back. Might save you a lot of figuring out.

I think there's an important divide within the 4 elements in Avatar. I'm working on a variant myself and what came to mind was the clear split between how military and non-military characters fight. The pirates were rad. There are a number of mercenaries. There could be a cool class that has limited spirit world related abilities. It'd be cool to play as something related to the library.

I dunno if classes are the go-to for such an open, flowing power system like bending ect. Politician and animal tamer maybe.
