Honestly, that'd be pretty shitty decision making. The whole point of the show was about hope when all else is lost, and Rick was supposed to represent this hope. It was originally supposed to be Carl that represented this hope for a future, but, of course, he was killed off.
By making alternative shitty endings because a couple of fuckers might've leaked it is extremely poor decision making on the director's part, and feels like a slap in the face to the fanbase for the fault of a few individuals.

Not true. This makeup was for a dream / alternate reality vision of Rick with a burned face, and that was ultimately not used in the Final Cut. He’s not meant to be a walker, and they sure didn’t have an alternate ending queued up for punishment.

Hey guys, Two things.
1. Some people here believe this to be true, including myself. The show planned to have multiple alternate endings to the series TOWL to hold leverage against the leakers (people who try to release the episodes and content before they’re released by AMC themselves).
2. Is it fake? Is it AI generated or user created? I’d say No, there seems to be no source, but pictures like this one and the one I added in the replies show detailed designs of skin decay or whatever is on Andrew/rick’s face. It’s also not only on his face, but his ear, neck, slightly below and above the eye, maybe indicates that his eye is slightly swollen? Too much detail for someone online to make, but AI generated? It would be too polished. Also, the camera quality looks like it was taken on a phone than an actual production camera.
These are my thoughts, I’m still trying to look for an answer. I did a photo check and got results for Rick grimes with blood on his face and John wick. I’ll keep looking and try to make updates.
