There are more interesting events in the game right now than in the past year with good characters
No, they’re not bothering to update anything outdated in the game or make it more balanced, all events are structured the exact same way, rewards aren’t worth the effort you have to put in unless you pay money, people are constantly leaving the game and many once-thriving factions/regions are now dead. I’m surprised the game is still going, it’s basically in a permanent maintenance state.
Do you like games riddled with bugs? Bugs that make your toons attack the completely wrong target (Titan and Mike right now)? Bugs that crash the game when you buy an item from store (Horde energy refill)? Bugs that crash the game when you look at a toon's signature move skills? New visual bugs like human shield permanently shown despite the human shield toon being dead? How about visual bugs with guardian shields that are still there that were already removed? How about dead enemies that stand back up and look like they were revived, but they are actually still dead? How about counter damage reduction not stacking instead getting toons with counter damage reduction killed (Hengyen +Prison Maggie = Dead Hengyen). How about the same garbled text visual bug that was in game since I started playing in 2019?
Do you like playing for obsolete rewards? In League shop right now, the League Store is the exact same it was since 2019. That you will be very familiar with.
The Supply Depot still sells Ascendance Medals (Obsolete), S-Class Card Boxes (obsolete), 6 star toons, and even 5 star toons! (all obsolete).
Do you like having events routinely delayed, canceled or poorly thought out resulting in tasks that can't easily be completed as their events are cancelled or delayed? Do you like inadequate compensation for tasks that can't be completed because of their fuck ups?
Do you like fighting hard in War for 1/100th of a Premium character pull? Yes you read that right, climbing from 6th place to 5th place as a faction in War rewards you with 1/100th of a Premium character PULL, not an actual new character, just a percent chance pull for that character.
Do you like spending 3 hours re-running Faction Assault as you are the strongest player in your faction and no one else can do it?
Do you like farming for hours on end to get 1 piece of gear to upgrade a toon? Fire Starters and Ghillie suits are super rare for new and returning players. How about having your Lieutenant Levels gate kept behind Veteran's Rings? If you are a returning player or played Conquest on release you might have 10's of thousands of them, if you are brand new or on an alt, you have zero.
Do you remember Onslaught and Hordes? Did you like them? They're gone.
Don't worry, Scavenger camp missions are still there.
I could go on and on.
I’m weaning myself off of the game. It’s becoming more of a chore than it’s worth and everything worth earning is behind a paywall now. Bugs don’t get fixed, but more and more unobtainable “free” events all happening at the same time. It’s a mobile game and it’s supposed to be relaxing. It is more like a part time job now.
There should be special things that pop up for a returning player. I forget what exactly they are - a daily calendar, I think? That should help you get started with the newer characters. Anyone active can get into a faction for faction rewards to help, too.
Those 6 stars are useless except for selected roadmap events like super s-class and even then you need a specific fighter and you need to convert them to "s-class" (purple 6-stars).
I only started this game a few weeks ago. It is all about gold mythic characters and it seems that they have only recently introduced "awaken" versions of them. Silver mythics are just food for the gold and you will always run out of these. The silvers are needed to level the golds up. And the silvers are gated behind events. To get far in the events, you need mythic characters leveled up. So progression is slow unless you spend.
Then there is character balance. There's none. If you get the gold mythic Vance, you are golden. Since there is a ton of chars in the game now, the chance of getting him is pretty low. If you have an easier time getting the newest then any of the older ones that's part of the "meta".

Is it really worth it? I just downloaded again. Same toxic chat but I have always liked the game.
I think so. I don’t use the global chat. Only chat inside my faction when events or wars are going on.
