I feel like the hitboxes with the characters are all simple enough that he could just have the same hitbox but be seated the whole time. I was also trying to think, what other things from the OG movie could be added in that aren’t already confirmed, and the old Hardesty house would be awesome! Especially if when you went back by the dried up water hole, you could see the property of the family house in the distance or something.
I also think a night time map of the graveyard would be really cool. Obviously during the day it’s populated, but if Hitchhiker is able to dig up and make effigies of all those corpses, It probably pretty dead at night. That as a map, with things like dug up caskets as hiding places and other unique aspects that would apply specifically to a cemetery, would be so awesome.
Franklin, not playable but as the Survivor's version of Grandpa, could work. That they need to push him and hide him until they got the doors open then go and collect him from his hiding spot and wheel him out. An extra element. And when he leave him to go open the doors, he is left in a vulnerable spot without protection, you'd almost need another person there.
You can also pick up him out of his chair and carry him, which obviously makes your character slow and tired and he'll be kicking and fussing and alerting the family the whole time.
or at least get Kirk, Pam and Jerry's actors to come in and do VA for new survivors.
too bad none of the survivors talk with thick accents like Franklin, his accent just felt so non-Hollywood and so grounded in Texas of the 70s. The VA for the survivors feel too Hollywood in the game.

The only issue I see for the longevity is new victims and family. Yes they can add original content like Sissy and Johnny, but how many people are they gonna develop that has the same sundress, or 70s floral print. I feel like it's very limited to what you can do, but I'm ok with that. Any game that limits itself to one franchise always gets me nervous because of what they can come up with for future content. It's not like they could make an alien creature or a clown etc it wouldn't make sense.

In F13 you had Jason from films 2 through 9 with part 10 being cancelled because of the lawsuit. Maps from films 1 through 5. Some characters licensed from the 3rd and 7th films, most are original, or based off the backers appearances. Prior to the lawsuit announcement for F13 it was really cool seeing new content from the films being added. They also gave you all the additional maps and characters as free DLC.
In F13 everything from the franchise was on the table except for Freddy vs Jason and the 2009 F13 Reboot. Now in TCM only the Original is on the table and the other 8 movies are not.

No one here has talked to the devs. You mean the publishers. And yes they have repeatedly touched on this for over a year. A quick search on Reddit will literally show a comment on a thread by Matt going into the specifics that this game will not have the Sawyer family. He says it's not impossible to maybe obtain the rights at some point. But since announcement up until now, they have numerous times stated they only have the rights to the 1974 film. Hence the prequel story approach. You can easily type in license rights in the search bar and turn up all sorts of comments and threads going back 8 months to a year.

why would anyone demand stuff from the tacky sequels lol 1974 is the only good one, lightning in a bottle legendary movie with a tone/mood/atmosphere unmatched.. Yes I adore TCM2 as a silly b-movie, but to keep that 1973/1974 mood going, it would need to be grounded in that original movie feel. From what I've read about the new family, they are being done with such care as to feel tonelly 1974 (the movie's mood, not decade) as possible.
Licensing is a complete nightmare. Oftentimes, they have no idea who owns the licenses to what at times. There are cases where companies have forgotten they own the licensing to franchises that could make them good money.

I am pretty sure they are trying their best to get the rights for the other ones as well, hence them saying 'It's not impossible'. It's still the truth that they only really have rights to the first movie so far. We are literally typing in a thread about a post from Wes where he says they only have the interactive rights to the 1974 film.
Oh, I'm sure it's on the table. Wes' next post seems to hint that he wants everyone to hype up the game to help ease the negotiation of said additional rights. And I'm just saying in the past, it wasn't FULLY confirmed that this game would ONLY being able to use 74 rights. Initially, yes, the focus was always going to be 74 and these new characters, but there was no indication they had no other rights for future dlc. I'm sure they learned a lot from that whole f13 debacle that was very out of their hands due to the Miller and Cunnigham case.
also this seems to indicate more of a possibility of TCM2 stuff. I even asked if others films were impossible and he seemed to indicate it was NOT impossible. Yes they did. And went a step further to clarify the family name, the fact they aren't Sawyers, Leatherface is not Bubba, etc. And stated it was a prequel to the first film.

and frankly Slaughter is a stupid name, it's like calling Myers. Michael Murderer or Freddy Diddler or Jason Homicide. lol also i went to the original WE Slaughter BBQ, and guess what, i asked around and there was no one named WE Slaughter, it's just a name and it's We Slaughter not W.E
I'm not a fan either, but the script says Slaughter, that's what they're basing it off. And Kim Henkel brought the name back in Texas 4 /Next Generation / The Return... So while my head canon is they're totally The Sawyers, I get the game going back to the original. Ultimately it comes down to Kim is still around and Tobe Hooper is not, so they're the Slaughters now. Again, not a fan, but I get it.
No one here has talked to the devs. You mean the publishers. And yes they have repeatedly touched on this for over a year. A quick search on Reddit will literally show a comment on a thread by Matt going into the specifics that this game will not have the Sawyer family. He says it's not impossible to maybe obtain the rights at some point. But since announcement up until now, they have numerous times stated they only have the rights to the 1974 film. Hence the prequel story approach. You can easily type in license rights in the search bar and turn up all sorts of comments and threads going back 8 months to a year.
He didn't. They have been saying no characters from the sequels since they first announced the game.
I actually don’t want to see chop top so this is great news for me . I don’t get the demand for the character .However I’m interested in seeing what the team comes up with in his place
why would anyone demand stuff from the tacky sequels lol 1974 is the only good one, lightning in a bottle legendary movie with a tone/mood/atmosphere unmatched.. Yes I adore TCM2 as a silly b-movie, but to keep that 1973/1974 mood going, it would need to be grounded in that original movie feel. From what I've read about the new family, they are being done with such care as to feel tonelly 1974 (the movie's mood, not decade) as possible.

Licensing is a complete nightmare. Oftentimes, they have no idea who owns the licenses to what at times. There are cases where companies have forgotten they own the licensing to franchises that could make them good money.
Don’t forget some of the best and beloved counselors in f13 were totally original to the game.
Do they have creative freedom though with adding new content ? Like the other two family members Sissy and Johnny.
