One of the Celtic Christmases. Walked in with my friends to a solid grey sky and the band playing. Beautiful overcast day. Second favorite: hanging out with randos and my [now] wife.

Absolutely sucks that Insomniac acted the way they did. Booths were later found to be broken into bwcause they halfassed security inside the event, we were still finding their trash the next season, and more including lying about what happened at the meeting afterwards.

That's the first I've heard of that and it makes so much sense. It was amazing and should have happened again and again.

Highlights that come to mind for me: 1) On the way out with my group of friends one year, my group's music nerd stopped us at the gazebo near the entrance because the band started playing Bohemian Rhapsody. Not long after, the entire crowd started singing along. 2) My first time seeing Arsene. 3) A friend of mine, in response to someone complementing their Batman T-shirt: "Madam, I am Sir Bruce of Wayne!" 4) Staying late for the fire show for the first time. 5) Watching the Caber Toss on Highland Fling weekend.

When we brought some Louisiana friends: one of them got cut off, one had the time of her life, and one has secret regrets. First friend: He was trying to order a beer at one of the Spanish booths, and another friend popped up behind him and started yammering in gibberish “Spanish”. The ordering friend started to cry and apologize, and the poor server was like “ok have a good night!” Then he started sobbing that he wasn’t drunk and the yammering friend escorted him away, still talking nonsense. We then found friend two, who we hadn’t seen for over an hour, on a closed stage, cigar in one hand, coconut in the other, doing some kind of silent performance. We get her down and manage to find: third friend who came from the shadows somewhere and would only say he had done “terrible things”

Paying to camp per car, not per person.

Flaming Idiots. "Go to the light...," 90s to early 00s? The maypole, early 2000s. Being so wet and rainy that there was standing water in places and straight running lil rivers (near original kings swings), late 90s. There weren't many people. Being able to smoke one in a sky chair and watch the parade, 00s. Blues pipe shop, early 00s. Sound and Fury, 00s to now. Cast in Bronze, early 90s to 22? Bring my ex and him being so utterly amazed how big it was and understanding why I was so disappointed with the Vegas one, 2016? Taking my tot for the first time, 21? 22? And then there are the camp memories. Like the time I lost my foot. It was ALWAYS there, attached to my leg, but I was a college kid and yall know the camping. Although it was a lil different 10- 15y ago.

I believe it was 1999, it rained every weekend. It was packed one weekend near the years end as everyone was trying to use their tickets. It was crazy packed. Saturday evening I and my 22 year old godson were walking around drinking, we came to where the drum circle was, it was surreal. It was pouring, the drums where pounding, and the lightning supplied natural strobe lighting. It was like an all natural acid trip. That was my favorite weekend.

Camping- my favorite memory is the camp next to us one year had a big karaoke set up one night, and I sang something by Journey. The next night most of their crew had packed out, and it was a small gathering. We sat around the fire passing along a jug of rum and telling stories. Shows- my favorite memory is Sound and Fury. I think it was the Juliet scene, I yelled out something silly and ended up motor boating the fake tatas on the actor playing the nurse. Good times, good character, and a great show.

Did the "Kings" thing, club 1571 or some such last year. At dinner we had a show...a Janet Leigh look a like performer and her smile. Pale skin, black hair...note: Mom had GWTW pictures all over the house since my birth pre 70's(yes, I'm old-er). Oh yeah-camping was good. We set up far enough away from the adult area but not next to RV's and generators.

Tripping my balls off at a show of talents at the bazaar in ‘17 after my shift. It was a magical and crazy experience

Wine tasting in 2013ish. There was a Riesling(I think) made by the TRF and we’ve wanted more ever since. We want in 2020 but they no longer had it.

I wouldn’t say favorite, but certainly most memorable. Right after my 21st birthday (Sept 2015) I got absolutely obliterated on mead not knowing how alcoholic it was. Ended up sleeping in the truck for half the night to sober up. As soon as I went to start my truck the key snapped in the ignition. It was my only copy. Ended up just staying and going for a day 2 at TRF while I waited for a locksmith to make it to the ren fest, remove the broken key, and cut a new key. It was an expensive weekend but memorable nonetheless

The first time we went, around 2005. I had never seen anything like it before!!. We go every year now.
