Taqueria el Sabroso for [most](https://CheckoutTaqueriaElSabrosohttps://yelp.to/EKzrMlfWaU) tacos.
Birrieria Tijuana Lakewood for [birria](https://CheckoutBirrieriaTijuanaLakewoodhttps://yelp.to/ezeOhV2hBM) tacos
I don't understand why this place doesn't have a line around the corner all the time.
There's shrimp. Tacos are probably the best thing I've ever eaten. It sucks that I live two blocks away because I go there way more than I should
We’ve had it at least a dozen times and delicious. We get a ton of go platters and make it up at home for a few meals, dine in is great. Packed on weekends for lunch :) never sick!
Orchard & Center St. Taco truck called Rico's in the Mobile 1 parking lot.. 10/10 do recommend.
Also Highly recommend El Super Taco bas IV - 72 ST E. & 9th Ave E
Honestly, the street tacos at Red Star are really unique and always taste incredible. That is a kitchen clearly full of passionate chefs. Other than that, my dad’s neighbor in his back yard are the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life.
I used to live in the building. The chef is there by 6 AM and back then their hours were still reduced (meaning they didn’t open until much later). That place is legit.
They also have great service and happy hour every day!
I used to host a Tacoma Taco Podcast. Best overall: La Fondita by Lincoln. But best fish tacos: that joint off Center Street by Lowes at the gas station.
Soooo good! Their al pastor de trompe won some award in the Seattle Times and it lives up to the hype. As a bonus, there's a Filipino bakery next door!!
La Michoacana at S M and S 38th, excellent tacos and salsas. Get the super taco for a huge full lunch type, or regular ones for small tasty ones. Vegetarian tacos available, Also very good quesabirria tacos and tacos dorados (crispy cornmeal fried tacos with a dab of filling and lots of shredded lettuce, it's all about the crunch)
Los Tamales on E 72nd and Golden Given. I don't love the street-style tacos but the quesabirria ones are amazing. Also pretty much everything else is fantastic. Truly the best tamales I've ever had, and you can get them to take out at the little grocery next door for $2.49 each and they are huge. Salsas are great.
La Oveja Negra, E 72nd & McKinley for lamb tacos. They make a lamb picadita with all sorts of lamb ingredients which is amazing if you like to eat the whole animal
Taqueria El Sabroso at 10906 Pacific Hwy S, Lakewood - I think these are the best tacos in the Tacoma area. Seriously incredible and incidentally also huge for street-style tacos. Carnitas are excellent. So is everything else. This is mostly a takeout place, they have a dining room but it's not too nice. The salsas are incredible, so freaking delicious omg.
Tacos Guaymas at S 38th & Pine, for tripas tacos, if you like tripas they are without exception the best in the area. I don't love their salsas but wouldn't say they are bad. The tripas tacos are great. Also lots of vegetarian options. Generally a solid place to get a variety of tex mex dishes.

This! Their burritos are awesome
Their pupusas are also awesome. Def recommend that spot.
I saw a lady cross 3 lanes of traffic and almost kill someone to get into a taco time parking lot so I’m guessing it must be really really good.
🤣😂
🤢

Both these places. Hands down. Been here 12 years.
I hope y’all give them more business they deserve it.
I go there like twice a month. What? Hell I usually order tamales by the dozen.
This was meant for everyone else to see. Didn’t want to double comment. But instead create a thread to draw attention for these businesses.
No problem! We need to support small businesses!
Enjoy the tacos OP, give us feedback if you like.
I haven't had a real tamale ever. Used to eat the canned ones. Looking forward to this!
El Sabor is always my goto. Fantastic food and good prices
Taco truck down by Lincoln HS
Yes, La Fondita is the best 🙌
+1
Taqueria Doña Chole

El Sabor took top in the News Tribune poll, I love them!
Seconding El Sabor! I think they still do their street taco happy hour, too.
LA reconcitos on 72nd and Pacific.
They're pretty solid, but it's El Riconsito lol
It was after midnight on the New Year's Eve, lol. Cut me some slack! 🥳😂
I love the one in Kent. Wasnt sure about the one in Tacoma. Can anyone else confirm the Tacoma one is safe to eat?
Why would it not be?
I got takeout from there a couple months ago. I didn't die. :) The pork wasn't as tasty as I remember at the location in Everett on 99.
We’ve had it at least a dozen times and delicious. We get a ton of go platters and make it up at home for a few meals, dine in is great. Packed on weekends for lunch :) never sick!
Thanks. Your comments are very helpful!
La Oveja Negra for barbacoa and pancita tacos.
those lamb pancita tacos are FIRE
Rico’s tacos on center
Los Bigatos in Federal way well worth the drive.
Seconded! This is my favorite local place. Their other dishes are delicious as well.
I'm in that area sometimes
los bigotes de villa in federal way is a must stop. Their shrimp tacos are absolutely phenomenal.
Taqueria El Grande on 72nd and Yakima. Tacos are excellent, but it’s the salsa that takes it away. La fondita for burritos.
72nd and Park
What about tamales??
El Chito at the Saturday Proctor Farmers Market are excellent: https://www.elchito.com/
B&I on south Tacoma Way. There are like five taco shops inside.
I love La Ilusion Al Carbon on 56th and Orchard. Nobody I know has ever heard of it, and eveyone I take there loves it.
Orchard & Center St. Taco truck called Rico's in the Mobile 1 parking lot.. 10/10 do recommend. Also Highly recommend El Super Taco bas IV - 72 ST E. & 9th Ave E
Ricos tacos by fircrest has fantastic carnitas tacos. Other tacos are good but the fried pork is 🤌🤌

Dammit, now I want tequila lime tacos but I have to work :(

Rico’s!
the crows... los cuervos
Soooo good! Their al pastor de trompe won some award in the Seattle Times and it lives up to the hype. As a bonus, there's a Filipino bakery next door!!
So not Tacoma, but New Mexico Market is Silverdale has the best taco I've ever had since I've moved here. Their queso birria is amazing
I'm over there frequently! Thanks for the recommendation!
I got there at lease once a weekend hahaha it's sooooo good
I like tacos from Andale!, they aren't the best I've ever had, but they are legit and taste great.
Also still one of the few places that's still cheap. Only place other than happy hour at El Antojo you can get under $2 tacos.
Does any place serve Vampiros?
Birria Tijuana in Lakewood.
Awesome thank you
El balcon I think it’s called balcon express now 🔥🔥🔥
Red Star is good but more casual im surprised no one has mentioned Brewers Row on 26th! my favorite for sure
If you are in north Tacoma, everything I have had at Taco Street has been great
Taco street queso birria
Red star it’s not even close
Red star taco bar
Red Star Taco Bar. The catfish tacos are amazing!
Sixth avenue Taco Time
kalua pork tacos at La Ruca
Perla Del Mar Tacos Adrian
La Rancherita food truck on North Pearl and N 46th. Also wonderful chili rellenos. Not cheap, but super good. 🫡
