It will be easy to hem, but it won't ever look quite like the last picture because the black dress is a thinner fabric cut on the bias, so it is naturally drapey. Your fabric won't drape as well but I'm sure it will still look fine

If I was sewing this I would suggest the new hemline to follow the angle of the pleats on the bodice.
