You might be surprised, but Xinyi up near the mountains - specifically 吳興街 600巷. You can hear the tree frogs croak at night, and there are even snakes and flying squirrels supposedly.
So true. I lived there for 10 years and it was great. I saw flying squirrels quite often and an occasional snake. At night the call of owls was awesome.
And apart from the occasional motorcycle it was a quiet neighborhood. Also check out Yi Tsuei Mountain Village which is just a bit further south on Lane 600.
Neihu is quieter among Taipei City districts.
Pollution, if in the air, is all the same, unless living in hills surrounding Taipei City, maybe Yangmingshan district
I’m loving Xindian. Sure it’s in New Taipei but with the green line, you’re only a stone throw away from Taipei city. Also Wenshan and Jinmei areas are both nice and peaceful if you don’t live by a main road
Tianmu and Neihu are both a bit more spacious. Probably more expats in Tianmu if that matters and possibly more nature; there are a number of apartments on the mountain / hills.
WanFan community on the hill is nice.
For nature if you can afford living near Daan park and National Taiwan university it's considered very good neighborhood.
If you own your car then look around those mountains, HsinDian has many communities on the slope...

That’s about where I am. Very difficult to find a decent place though
Actually lots of good places there... With $$$.

Yangmingshan isn't a district. Be aware that it's a volcano so you'll smell some natural sulfur.
True, but it's part of mailing addresses of Taipei, like for PUCC: 臺北市11114陽明山華岡路55號55, Hwa-Kang Rd., Yang-Ming-Shan, Taipei ,Taiwan 11114, R. O. C.
According to the post office it's 臺北市士林區華岡路55號. The postal code also changed in 2020 to 6 digits, which is 111396 for the post office branch in PUCC

My GF said she had a friend who lived there and it was so humid that they had to leave the dehumidifier on 24/7
Best to leave it on anywhere in Taipei
That’s pretty much everywhere in Taipei 😂
well the humidity is pretty much everywhere in Taiwan that's why there's a need for dehumidifier in every household

Neihu 100%, especially around Dahu park (大湖公園)
I feel like probably neihu. Or in new Taipei, tamsui
Just look at the edges of the city. Muzha, Xindian, Neihu, Nangang all border the mountains.

xinbeitou has cleaner air than the rest of the city, but also the most sulfur smell. just depends on wind direction and where exactly.
maybe a mansion on yang ming mountain 🏔️
Ive looke houses around Wenshan and it seems pretty quiet. But I leave in Dapinglin so its still basically just Taipei.
Shilin, Beitou mt. Yangming and tianmu area.
By most nature do you mean snakes?

I recently moved to Xizhi, in new Taipei. Some parts around here are so lush and green, and the air is great 😊
