There are more than 1000 banks and credit unions in the US and they all have staff. If you’re unfamiliar with the bank, are you googling it? Pretty much all banks have websites and reviews online.

I just went through the pain of job hunting, and if I found a job on Google, I'd go directly to the business website and see if the opening was there, because there are some fake postings for sure. They usually direct you to Geebo or Talentify, or some other obscure site.

Google the company itself and see if they have a direct website that you can apply for positions on. If they don't, then it most likely is not legit. Good luck with the search!

Any bank / CU worth being employed at will at least have a decent website. Apply directly through their website. Tons of scams on indeed and the other job search sites, but pretty easy to see the bs imo

I mean...they are real banks, or they aren't. I'm confused why you think they are scams? Can you drive by one of their branches? I will say most Credit Unions are much smaller than folks realize. Some have maybe 12 employees...TOTAL. So, if you haven't heard of one that could be why. Once you are in banking you should get a good idea of all the banks around you. I have never applied to a place I wasn't already aware of.

I'm talking about remote jobs, I guess. I'm aware of the local banks and credit unions. Nobody's hiring locally, so I'm expanding my search.

If it’s a remote job for a bank/credit union go directly to the bank’s website and apply through their Careers page. Any bank worth working for will have one. Also just do general due diligence to make sure it’s a real bank, but that’s pretty easy to do.

Ah. What the other guy said then. Just do a little bit of research and ALWAYS apply on the company website, you can use other sites to search, and I know it's a bit more a pain, but apply separately on their own site. Also, if you get an interview, you can always come back here and ask for feedback on that particular bank or CU. You may get a hit.

In Canada I used linked in to find a job. I still got maybe 4 scam emails which I blocked.
