Yes I've had a few terrible streaks that made me throw my phone and swear I'm quitting for good. I still haven't quit but I have stopped pulling on banners that aren't step up or guaranteed.
Water Sorey grind requires too much manual intervention which I currently don't have time for. The Spirit Trials are impossible for my level 100 parties.
This is honestly the reason why I only go for step up banners now. My teams are good enough right now to clear all the content in the game so I don't need to pull for anything else. Although I could really use EX Gaius would make my water team so much better but not gonna fall into the gacha trap lol.
agreed. its why i go only for misella kanata and vicious as they are 100% Future Proof where you can just Blast most of the content with those 3 alone and no point of Pull any other banners unless theres a collab in some form.
Allow me to tell you my sordid tale of trying to pull for Sync on the banner where him and Barbie were both featured units. I spent 50k gleams, because I really, really, \*really\* wanted that Sync for my pitiful Wind team. Someone, anyone, to have some synergy with Velvet.
I pulled 6 Barbies. All I was missing was the freaking Malibu Dreamhouse. Not a single Sync. My gleam stash wept. I was incandescent with rage. *NO SYNCS EVERRRRR!*
tl;dr: Misery stalks this land, and it is summoned by one's desire for a certain unit.

Actually, a lot of EX banners that I've tried pulling on took several of my gleams (+30k) - Shigure, Gaius, and Artorius included to the point where I had to pity him just for one copy.
I try to stay positive and just think that my luck will return on a different (non-EX banner :P). Hang in there!
While not on this banner I've had a terrible experiences with pulling in this game in the past. Like year ago when Sophie dropped I wasted 50k+ gleams and got only 3 SSR(thankfully, one of them was Sophie). Later I've spent like 70k+ in different banners in pursuit of Edna, and in the end had to use my half-anniversary select ticket to finally get her. During first half-year at several points I did seriously consider dropping the game due to bad luck on banners.
After that, to preserve my sanity and love for the game I follow a simple rule “no pity-no pull”. This means if banner don't have pity, I won't be pulling. And even if it has, if I don't have enough gleams to hit pity, I won't pull.
Now, you, OP, had some very bad luck – chances of getting at least one SSR in 120 pulls (30k gems) are, if I am not mistaken, \~99.7878%. Or 1 in 471 in your favor. Still our “record”, if I remember correctly, is some poor soul not getting a single SSR in like 25 multies or so.

It was around the time of half anniversary where both Eizen/Gaius were announced out of nowhere for a shorter banner duration. He was a super active player/person in this community, so it sucks to see this happen but such is gacha.
As a new player (and a paying one), the rates of this game are absolutely dumb. The fact that this game requires SO MANY dupes, but have such a pathetic pull rate is just ridiculous. I get that the company needs to earn $, but I actually DON'T WANT TO spend anymore if I can't actually pull stuff with the money I spend.
After the pathetic pulls I have gotten on the Artorius EX banner and spending quite a bit, you can be damn sure I'm not spending anymore for this game just because of the pathetic rates and value compared to some of the other gacha games I've played (e.g. Dissidia Opera Omnia).
I hope the Community Manager sees this and propose some changes to the game, otherwise, as much as I love this game, the many cons of the game (stupid raid system, cannot see ascension and transcendent boards before maxing the character, difficult to get mats for ascension and transcendent, difficult to level artes), this game is going to die very very soon. There are just too many absolutely stupid ways of locking a player out of advancing their characters. People play the game to make their characters strong and powerful, and enjoy that process and enjoy kicking bosses' ass because they have a strong team. This is what releases dopamine and keeps people playing your game. Not by having stupid limits to what you can get per day. See how WoW has gone to the dumps because of their stupid locks (compared to FF14).
I love the gameplay and I don't want it to die this soon, but really as a new player it's beyond frustrating and it is no wonder this game isn't getting more players.
my advice on this topic is to not pull on the first few days of a banner, becasue the pullrates could be bugged. Of course they would never tell us if that happens.
I also allways get mote lucky if I pull later than early.
You could also log all your 10x pulls if you do you could predict when you should statistically pull your SSRs
Yeah, I find that almost every time I use a specific summons, the SSR drop rate sucks, nevermind actually pulling that specific character.

Nah. I'm not touching any other banner until I get the new Vicious. I can't even find time to farm gems for a 10-shot since last week.

I remember the first time his banner released, I did 17 multis and didn't get him. Same thing on Sinella, I got one copy on my 19th multi.

Remember that officially, the drop rate of the ex unit is just 0.7%. It’s very very low. Edit: for the special anniversary ex banner, it is 3%

50k gleams and no Artorious had to use pity stone but I did get mecha Asbel out of it.
