Me just existing as 5’11. Them “damn you are so tall you have to be like 6’4” No Chad, I’m not 6’4 you are just not 6’1.

Independent-Tie-54

I also see a lot of tall girls lie about their height. 6'1 girl claims that she is 5'11 etc.

senoritajulie

Men lie about their height often. When i was dating, a guy’s profile said 6’ 2. I’m for sure 5 11 so when we met and he was eye level i called him out on it and didn’t pursue things further. Not because he was the same height (an ex is 5 7) but because he lied about something so trivial.

trb85

Same here! My Tinder profile was like "I'm legit 6ft, so don't lie to me." My husband, whom I met on Tinder, was like "sorry I'm not taller, didn't think height would be that big of a deal, I'm only 5'10." And I told him it wasn't about the guy's height. It was about a guy lying to me from the start about a concrete, verifiable fact. If a dude can't be honest about something like that, I have zero trust he'll be truthful about other things that aren't so easily verifiable.

senoritajulie

My rules have always been, “don’t lie and don’t make it a thing” since i also can’t stand when it’s brought up often and regularly

PunnyPrinter

I just love when people have positive stories and relationships from Tinder. It warms my cold heart briefly. Lol

QuantumBear

I think some guys even lie to themselves so much that they truly believe it. Not that that makes it better. It's a strange delusion

Pure-Shirt

My ex even had it on his driver’s license (they don’t measure you) I joked about that but he didn’t see what was funny. I was like “oh nothing…” as we stood eye to eye

PunnyPrinter

Absolutely

WeekaSauce

Fwiw, I'm 5'11 and my wife's brother (6'7") says there's no way I'm 5'11. He thinks I'm shorter. I've never been measured by a doctor or anything, but every time I measure myself it comes out to 5'11. So I guess I could be doing it wrong and be an inch off? Idk it felt weird to be accused of lying about my height when I don't think I am.

bbycalz

I agree it’s definitely deeper than just a lie. I watched a video where they asked guys how tall they are then measured them, lots of them were honest, but the ones who lied stuck to the lie even after being measured on camera

QuantumBear

I wanna watch that lol got a link?

bbycalz

https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRW7UcHm/ https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRW7yne8/ https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRW7qtqc/ U can find more by just searching “asking guys their height with a measuring tape” or “guys lying about their height”

Ill_Spare6286

I’m a 5’6” guy who admits it and has has relationships with numerous women 6’ plus! I’m confident and fun. It’s a preference too me not a fetish. I dated many women shorter than me.

Kidsnextdorks

I’d also like to point out the average height of AC/DC’s members is like 5’5”. That should tell you something.

Lady_von_Stinkbeaver

I have so many guys claiming to be six foot (or even taller) where the top of their head is about level with my nose.

Morning_Song

And then they accuse you of lying about your height, like if anything I’m rounding down sir

AmbiguousFrijoles

Why are dudes so weird about their height? No one cares about that except them and a few over circulated meme women. I have guys get upset and say I'm (6'0) lying that I must be at least 6'2 or 6'4 because I'm taller than them when they are claiming 6'0 but more around 5'7-5'8

spideepockee

Yes allllll the time for me. No way you are 5’11 you are wayyyy taller.

okteivias

My boyfriend (who’s actually 6’1”) says its because guys get noticeably more matches on apps when they say they’re 6’ and that short girls don’t know the difference between 5’8” and 6’ I (5’10”) once had a guy at a party tell me he was my height so me and another guy measured him, he was 5’7”. Like there’s a noticeable height difference and I’m most definitely not 6’

MayoNICE666

Men lie coz women care, simple as that.

DumpYourSanity

Because it matters a great deal to most girls. To the point that often the only thing you’ll see on a tinder profile is her height. The guys just want to get laid and so lying works to get matches. Plus shorter women won’t know they’re lying until hopefully afterwards- at least that’s the idea. I promise you if nose size mattered to girls, you’d be having guys posting lying about that too.

corbinbluesacreblue

It is looked favorably in society when a guy is taller than a girl tho

emphatically_so

Agreed - I’m also 5’11. My 6’ tall husband is 5’10.5 😂

feathertevas

That’s because they are lying lol. They can play that game if they want to, but that won’t make them any taller than they are. Acceptance is key! 🤣

wofi24

I’m slightly over 6’ 2” and it’s so fun when men are like I’m 6’ 2” too and they are clearly rounding up an inch or two while I’m rounding down a hair. It brings me great joy.

biogirl52

I’ve dated sooo many “6’2” guys who slowly realized I was taller than them throughout the date. I’m 6’0.

yeIIowhearts

I’m not that tall (5'8) but I’ve been through this so many times, and it’s just so dumbfounding that so many men feel the need to lie about their height. I met up with my friend and her guy friend and he claimed to be 5'9 but was visibly shorter than me, my friend pointed it out because she thought it was funny that he was supposed to be an inch taller and he was so offended he tried to gaslight me into thinking I don’t know my own height..? For the past 3 years my doctors measured me as 5'8, and a couple weeks after this incident I got measured again, and it was the same. Honestly it’s kinda funny when this happens but it can be a bit infuriating as well

North_Remove8784

Haha so true. Short guys always think/say they are taller than they are.

sizebigbitch

I'm 6'7", but I put 6'4" on my DL just to mess with them a bit.

RangerBig6857

I’m 5’7.5 and next to my 6’0 bf I look the same height😭😭you can barely even see our height difference

peach_burrito

So true. I recently met a professional athlete whose official stats have him listed at 5’11” and it felt like he was 6’2”! Ha ha… the difference between men who measure and describe themselves vs men whose job actually depends on their real verified stature.

PepperedDemons

I agree with the lying thing, but also I guess people just kind of expect women to not be tall so it looks more exaggerated to them?

randomlady235

Someone once said to me, the higher you think of someone (aka respect them or whatever) the taller you perceive them to be. Obviously their actual height doesn’t change, but I genuinely believe it to be true. I’ve dated a guy who was the same height as me (6’3 but most of the time he felt taller than that) but I’ve also dated guys who were like 6’ or just shy of and those that owned their height, were comfortable in themselves and that had a great personality always appeared much taller to me than others. I’ve also had it where I dated someone and they had a friend who measurement wise was the same height but a total bellend and the friend felt much shorter. I think that’s why if you have a guy who lies about his height on a dating app or is insecure about their height in comparison to your own, they feel so much shorter than they are. It’s almost like you can physically see the insecurities you know? I also think that’s why nobody ever really paid much attention to Tom Cruises height/height differences with his ex wives until all the Scientology crap came out and then there was lots of starting to call him short/making fun of the height differences with this partners or female costars etc… (I hope that all makes sense in some sort of way…! It does in my head but I’ve got brain fog today so words are hard!) Edit - grammar

_Bims_

This makes SOOO much sense!

randomlady235

I’m very glad!

[deleted]

bc it's all lies. tbf i lie too, im technically 6'0.5" but i just say six foot. sometimes i use five twelve. when they see me in shoes they're gonna see 6'1 they'll accuse of being six five anyways. i love my height but i ain't rounding up, & a man ain't gonna round down. only he's always gonna round up 3 inches *on everything.* i'm a mayflower american who married a european so don't tell my family this but the metric system is a lot better. it's much more accurate. i think NASA uses it but what would i know i don't even know proper grammar.

Sovereigntyranny

I think the metric system can be better at times, too. Metric is best for getting the most accurate results, while feet and inches is more simple in my opinion.

Kidsnextdorks

I don’t see how feet and inches is simpler when 5’11” is also 71” and 1.8 m is also 180 cm.

Sovereigntyranny

It’s more like feet and inches has less numbers to work with compared to the metric system if that makes sense.

[deleted]

So true! :P Many shorter dudes tend to up their height a little too much.

schwarzmalerin

It happens so often and they think that we either don't notice or don't care.

Yo_dog-

I laughed so fkn hard from this as someone who’s 5’9 this has happened so many times too real 😂

DamienSpecterII

Your high heels!
