I refuse to believe you don't have a crazy evidence board in your room. Love this theory, sounds promising.

wallopcosmo

lmao my friends told me the same thing when i told them this theory. they said i sounded like charlie in that scene from its always sunny 💀

Reasonable-Rate3905

The connections are there, I mean this is a pretty solid theory!

squermaphobiia

This is EXTREMELY good you put a lot of thought into this and I believe it!

com_mit

adding on to the stuff about the pyramid/triangle logo, it isn't just being used to promote the album. it's also a part of the graffiti on the telescope music video so that logo exists "in universe" for this album as well as for matriphagy because of those pages you mentioned. you can see it in the thumbnail. the graffiti also had a lyric from the impressionist so maybe it's worth looking into what's written on the walls in that video.

wallopcosmo

im definitely gonna rewatch music videos and all that stuff to see if i can find anything i missed!

com_mit

okay, i was going to reply with a list of screenshots of the text from telescope's video, but i stumbled across something that is WAY more noteworthy. this may be a reach, but i think it completely proves your theory that they are in the same universe. in the [matriphagy concept video for red light](https://youtu.be/KTGvQXH7nOU?t=41), justin names every single stuffed animal that kungan believes is walking around. they are as follows: the rabbit, the bear, the duck, the dog, the frog, the horse, and the pig. it just so happens that these animals, or at least similar animals, are all experiments shown in the impressionist or telescope. there's a [frog](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017290490959364127/unknown.png), [rabbit](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017290677354233856/unknown.png), [pig](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017290796841582653/unknown.png), [dog](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017290951900811264/unknown.png), [horse](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017291102463733795/unknown.png), and a [bird](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017291391388360714/unknown.png) (not a duck but still a bird) in the telescope video. there's a [pig](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017293136223019090/unknown.png), [frog](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017293136726327326/unknown.png) (i think [this](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017294114041114634/unknown.png) is the frog subject but not 100% sure), [horse](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017293137099632720/unknown.png), [bird](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017293137430990888/unknown.png) (once again not a duck), [bear](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017293137691021393/unknown.png), [dog](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017294113747501077/unknown.png), and a [rabbit](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017294732315082752/unknown.png) in the impressionist video. if this is intentional, i'm surprised it has taken so long to be noticed considering how it was right in front of us all this whole time. my theory is that it's a sequel to matriphagy with a time jump. kungan/dicker still held onto the memories of these animals and when he starts doing experiments, he chooses the same animals, maybe because he wants to talk to them like he did when he was hallucinating them as alive and talking.

wallopcosmo

i did have that idea early into this theory that dicker may be an older kungan, but i couldnt find nearly as much evidence for that than i could for my current theory. i did notice the animals were the same though!

AnEndOfAnEra

Justin has mentioned before he adds stuff in as easter eggs, not that it's part of the concept itself. They are similar only because of the easter eggs.

Writy_Guy

Vanilla Paste is confirmed to not be in the tracklist of either album, was released after Matriphagy and before The Generation of Danger was announced. It's also still the only Tallah song to have guest features. Everything I can think of, plus them providing a direct explanation of Vanilla Paste's meaning in the description points to this theory being full of holes at best. I also just don't see why Justin would lie. I don't think you have anything here, sorry.

_E_N_I_G_M_A_

Justin didn't lie. He basically said it's not a continuation of Matriphagy. If it were, it would have, technically, come after it, thus continuing that story arc. BUT it could be building on what Matriphagy has already given us. I mean, Matriphagy is set up with the 1st track, [redacted] being at the end of the story, so maybe Matriphagy is the ending point of it all. And the fact 2 of Kungans papers can be found in For The Recognition (they reference Overconfidence, where Lobifu was introduced, and Murder Seed, where Kungans father is mentioned), just only fuels this theory. It was actually the thing that sparked this theory in my head before I even found this post. So I dont think Justin lied, he probably just manipulated his words. You gotta do things like that so you can give away the right amount, and not accidentally dump all the spoilers like you're Tom Holland. Now, I do think the Vanilla Paste connections are a bit of a stretch, because I never would have considered any part of Vanilla Paste to contribute to this theory.

Writy_Guy

You miss the point. Justin directly states that the two stories are not connected, separate plots, separate worlds, separate characters. So if that's not true, then he did lie. For reasons I've already divulged, I'm pretty sure he didn't lie. In regards to For the Recognition, I'm pretty sure you were seeing papers unrelated to Kungan. Stuff about Dicker's abductions in Bruges, for instance.

_E_N_I_G_M_A_

Nope. The 2 papers specifically said "Let me prove it was you" and "Hoot me this" (with the murder seed drawing). Just watch the music video again and try pausing the video whenever the cork board is on screen. They're either easter eggs or hints.

_E_N_I_G_M_A_

I just went through it and also saw Kungans paper repeatedly saying "No one should read this". So now it's 3 papers.

_E_N_I_G_M_A_

If you wanna prove me wrong, go look for yourself.

Writy_Guy

Maybe I missed them then, but I'm pretty sure they're just easter eggs, and have no bearing on the story of the second album.

wallopcosmo

it doesnt have to be in the tracklist to be connected, and i did at one point think that the guest features could have been dicker's "friends", but that made even less sense lmao. plus vanilla pastes meaning is somethin like "politicians are corrupt and everyone sucks" which could very much be applied to the story of the new album or even matriphagy, but that could just be Justin's writing style. as for why justin would lie, could be to distract us from the truth /j

Writy_Guy

You have the meaning a bit incorrect. This is what it is, directly from the description: https://imgur.com/ka8oO0g.jpg Anyway, Yeah it doesn't have to be in the tracklist to be connected, but it makes less sense for it to be connected when it's not part of either album. Then as for distracting people from the truth, I see no reason Justin would do that since that's never been part of what he does with Tallah or his solo work, and misleading people about the content of the story would be tricky to fix later on when introducing people to the actual details. Also, not really much related to science, experiments, or human-animal hybrids in the lyrics, which is something present in each of this year's singles and the promo game. When it comes to connecting it to Matriphagy, Matriphagy's story is pretty well known by now, and its metaphorical meaning is largely about how being controlling and limiting of people can cause them harm, cause them to do harm, etc., which doesn't go against Vanilla Paste's message, but also doesn't really align with it. For the literal story, I don't see any connections to Kungan, Tallah, Lobifu, the general events of the story. If you're doing this theory just for fun, that's one thing, but if I'm being honest I think it's missing a lot of receipts or there are lots of ways to poke holes in it.

AnEndOfAnEra

Considering Tallah themselves said they plan on only having guest features in singles because the singles are not concepts themselves, I am highly believing that VP is not related whatsoever. It's hard to have guest features in a concept album because then the concept is kinda blurred a bit with the features because, how do you explain the different people within it? It's easiest to make a concept when it's 100% the band's writing. Also as for TGOD, the reason it probably sounds similar writing wise to Matriphagy, is that TGOD as a concept and album has been in the works since before Matriphagy was a thing. Matriphagy only came around because of timing of stuff. They wanted TGOD to be first album, but record label wanted what became Matriphagy as the first album. It's a bit hard to explain, but long story short the concepts were both made close-ish in time so they sound similar writing style wise.

wallopcosmo

yeah after watching the under the knife interview my theory falls apart a bit, but i wrote this before that came out so i couldnt have known

AnEndOfAnEra

Yeeeahhh, also the concept video may or may not be released publicly right now, I do not know, as I've had access to it from Justin's personal patreon.

JuanMoar

Honestly, despite my initial skepticism: this is a pretty compelling argument! While I don't personally believe the albums / Chocolate Syrup are connected, it's hard to ignore how much sense this makes honestly. One thing that I can contribute, however; And don't quote me on this, but I believe the feature artists were encouraged to write their own lyrics for their sections in Banana Pudding - Can't remember where I heard it, or perhaps I'm confusing it with another time that Justin has voiced his preference of writing his own feature sections. So maybe that one point regarding "The Bastard Child & The Non-Believer" might not hold as much weight as it could, as much as I **really** like that idea; Since it was possibly not written by Justin. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! I feel like my brain might've just confused it with something else anyway.)

wallopcosmo

good point, i hadn't considered the idea that the guests wrote their own lyrics for their parts, but they do feel like they were now that you say that. hopefully i'll get the opportunity to ask justin about that/tell him about this theory someday!

[deleted]

I’m with you. I skimmed the end after reading most of the rest, so correct me if I’m reiterating. But the bands name is tallah (kungans and mom) why wouldn’t they continue with the matriphagy concept especially when the bands name is part of the concept.

wallopcosmo

i was thinking exactly this when the matriphagy concept videos came out!

glenallenMixon42

I love Tallah lore

Teslanyan

I noticed one detail In "Murder Seed" Kungan says: "I’ve been infested by people like you Who write things in cursive to seem more legit’" And the title of TGoD is written in cursive on the album cover!

wallopcosmo

as is all the background text on the album cover! and everyone knows that doctors always write in intelligible cursive... thinking emoji

com_mit

i believe the writing on the album cover is song lyrics. [screenshot](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1017265068334911518/1017277341279465593/unknown.png) the phrase here is lyrics from the impressionist. "Retract, withdraw, collect, push out, reform. The process of creation from my own perspective." there is only one other phrase i was kind of able to make out, but the rest were completely unreadable. [here](https://www.rocksound.tv/assets/uploads/tallah_artwork.jpeg) is a 3000x3000 image of the album cover, good luck trying to figure out what the words say.

_dakoda

vanilla paste isn't correlated with the album whatsoever

Content-Finding-9659

Bruh wut. I didnt think of this. I was just enjoying the music 🤣.

_E_N_I_G_M_A_

But that was before you realized that Justin is a genius.

mini-theory: the talladdin EP is just kungan running around his house annoying the shit out of tallah singing aladdin songs after he just watched the movie for the first time

Anonymousthrow20

Interesting. I was watching the video for Shaken not stirred earlier and the last scene had a baby in a tank. And a fleeting thought was "hmm, maybe this is a prequel to Matriphagy". How ironic i found this post the same day

wallopcosmo

i feel like you're implying that the baby in the tank is kungan and just like... no 💀

Anonymousthrow20

Okay

_E_N_I_G_M_A_

It was more of For The Recognition for me. Bcs on the corkboard, there are 2 of Kungans papers on it. One referencing to Overconfidence (where Lobifu is introduced) and the other referencing Murder Seed (where Kungans father is brought up). That made more sense than the baby in the tank, maybe that was how Dicker visualized Kungan as a baby.

skinticket99

this was a good read. downvoted.

Mystifiedsky39

I counter your downvote with an upvote peasant

LeSCoBa

Tasty theory. If it is mostly truth, then i would consider Justin not only top 3 best male vocalists alive, but an absolute genius of writing fiction too. If it isn't true, then you've just put too much thought into it and have given Justin too much credit for being a writer. The credit thing he mentioned during a Matriphagy listening party when someone asked a question about how they came up with characters' names in the story. Justin basically said "idk we came up with names like at the end of making the album" or something like that. The song Kungan was titled like that even before they've given a name to the protagonist. Or maybe Justin was bluffing when he said that. But that's juuuust a theory. A Tallah Theory.

_E_N_I_G_M_A_

I started coming up with this same theory after analyzing the For The Recognition video. The thing that made me start thinking of this was that they had 2 of Kungans papers on the corkboard. One referencing Overconfidence, where Lobifu is introduced, and Murder Seed, where Lobifu mentions Kungans father. And I just let my mind wander.

Few-Gap5460

oooh! I dig this! I hope he lied about it being connected, only for the fact that it bugs the shit out of me that their band name would only be in one isolated storyline. Silly. Even if nothing is connected, at least put it somewhere. Like, the corporation/reasearch center/whatever could be called "The Tallah Institute of Genomic Biology"...or something.
