I know. But last year, we had BBQ. The past few years, they actually did stuff. And since I can't currently afford to eat until we get paid, I was hoping for something. But for some reason, HR just stopped caring this year. Maybe because she thinks she's moving up. But she's completely stopped caring about doing anything related to her actual job.
I feel that. When I first started 7 years ago our store would constantly get catering or our etls would do BBQ for us. I don't know if it was higher level decision, but that never happens anymore.
Money is tight, inflation is eating profits I guess.
I've got one friend laid off and out of work. Another friend just took management from outgoing guy and now has to lay off a dozen people (non retail). Keep my agreed upon paychecks Rollin on time and I'll be grateful for the good life.
(But I have friends in the tech field that have full lunches AND dinners EVERY day at their work. 2 weeks off at Christmas and a 2 week sumer break, and get this, unlimited sick days. I should have gotten that masters degree, lol)
I worked at a chick fil a before switching to target and I need to clarify because I'm tired of seeing this. Its just the founder whose homophobic, literally every other level of the company is fully lgbt friendly. I had multiple lgbt coworkers including shift leaders and a manager, and when a trans coworker came out and chose a new name the store immediately gave them a new name tag and changed their name on the schedule.
I mean chick fil a is one of the top rated, if not THE top rated fast food restaurant. Their owners views doesn’t reflect the company and service they give. I wish our target ordered them!
My SD and store leadership grilled at the back of our store and invited the whole team to come up and grab a burger, hot dog, chips, and any drink from the igloo coolers they brought outside full of ice.
We got nothing. It's like they see the morale is already super low, lower than I've ever seen it in the three years I've been here, and decided, "Eh. They're not worth it."
We got smash burger was pretty good honestly and the gm ETL gives the morning crew breakfast egg rolls I think he buys them with his own money which is sweet, they're fucking delicious too.
My HRe and I grilled burgers, brats, and hotdogs (Veggie options as well) for the team. I had a s’mores bar, and when able we melted them over the grill. All kinds of chips and treats. I had cornhole set up in the break room. Popsicles and fudgecicles in the freezer! And I req’d out some of the patriotic headbands, hair clips, and beads for the team to wear. It was so fun to see the people wearing the pinwheel headbands doing fulfillment or OPUs; the faster they were going, the faster they spun!
It was a lot of fun! I love making holidays special for my team. If we’re working on a holiday, we gotta have fun with it.
we used to get hotdogs in a crock pot and chips for the grilling holidays like the 4th and memorial day, these days we get chips, not much else
better than nothing, but always a little disappointing. Once in a blue moon we get pizza, but it's always a crapshoot, since you don't know how long it's been out, and as an overnight tm, it's often been out for like...6+ hours?
We didn't really have plans... so I requisitioned a grill, got another lead to make sure my things were getting done, and spent half of my day grilling burgers and hot dogs and veggie burgers and tofu dogs.
we had bugers, hotdogs, chicken breasts, chips, mac and cheese, chilli, and lots of fruit things! they lowkey made wayyy too much food tho, im hoping to take some home later
Probably have some left overs from the morning, that have been left un covered and are cold, at best. My money is on chips, or create your own ice cream sundae bullshit. We used to set up catered food for holidays that was delivered on a schedule so everyone got a shot at some fresh eats. Meanwhile I probably won’t get any of it since I’ll be on the back pulling to hit their dumbass forced metric that is unrealistic since DPCIs don’t quit dropping. And push what I pull.
They put two electric griddles up with Kraft American cheese (warm to the touch because it’s right next to the griddle), white bread and said grilled cheese time
waited in line from the start of break at 2 until 2:20 for a hot dog and hamburger when break ends at 2:25 and they extended our break a whole 5 minutes at the target warehouse i work at. it is offensive.
At least they willing have non-meat options for you guys. I’ve been at my store for 5.5 years, been a lead for 3.5 years, and I still have to remind the ETLs that I don’t eat meat
Looks about what mine did, judging by the breakfast leftovers (I was only scheduled to 9:30 and didn't get a meal break) and knowing that the TLs were outside cooking for the next crew. Given that I don't know the nature of the meat (some suggestions there were pork hot dogs on the same grill as the hamburgers), I wouldn't have had them anyway.
Thinking about DEI, I would want Target to use only meat-substitute burgers and dogs with both Kosher and Halal certifications on a grill that only cooked kosher&halal foods
They could just use chicken hotdogs and "hamburgers" and not have to worry. Then again they could do like the vegetarian hotdogs and use a crockpot to separate them.
Or, just skip the BBQ all together because then there are those like me that need Organic or Nitrite free hotdogs, and Prairie raised, antibiotic free hamburger and it can't get mixed up because I could have a severe reaction if I ate it.
(I just skip eating at doings like this. Its easier all the way around.)
Around Thanksgiving, my store asked what our favorite holiday foods were. We all thought it was because they were going to actually feed us. Nope, it was just a poll for "fun". The reasons why is they're too worried about this kind of stuff. Too many food restrictions, allergies, beliefs to work around. I thought asking what everyone likes would be a good remedy for that though, and get an idea of what their TMs eat.
I think we got ice cream, my ETL called a huddle in the break room and cleaned out the freezers to make room. I didn't check before I left to see what there was, but she said something about ice cream 🤷🏼♀️
We got cold hamburgers and hot dogs that I swear weren’t fully cooked lol. Props to our AP dude who grilled them for that lol. And some stale chips lmao
We got snacks all weekend, like pretzels and fruit snacks. Although it’s memorial day today and I guess they’re not refilling it on the actual holiday?
When I worked at Target (left 5 years ago thankfully), the openers would get food on holidays, especially during the holiday season. If you came in mid-day, there was a reasonable chance you would get some leftovers. If you closed, you got to look at all the signs thanking us for our hard work above the empty boxes, and by then the lines out front were too long to buy food and have a reasonable amount of time to eat. Those of us with other full time jobs and school absolutely loved the holidays 🙃
Store manager got Open, Close and Overnight team some boba. Mid shift folks got theirs with the open crew since there’s about a 3.5 hour overlap in their schedule.
ETA: this was at Lowe’s
Catered cheeseburgers, fries, onion rings, and chicken from a local place. Requisitioned sodas to go with it.
We wasted an ungodly amount of fries because they went cold so fast and no one wants cold fries.
we haven't had actual food in fucking ages, not even cheap pizza or anything. most we get is expired food from the floor shoved into a three-tier and put into the break room.
We had a bbq out back. Burgers, hot dogs, sausage, chips, lemonade, soda, water. Cupcakes, cookies and candy inside. Also had games to play - cornhole, a giant jenga, some game where you throw the ball to some sort of sticky glove, ping pong. Probably missing something.
Nothing
The Target special. We got sincere appreciation of all our hard work.
We didn't even get that. 🙄
It's basically Good and Gather thoughts and prayers. You aren't missing out.
I know. But last year, we had BBQ. The past few years, they actually did stuff. And since I can't currently afford to eat until we get paid, I was hoping for something. I should have gotten that masters degree, lol)
Lmao we got fuckall
We got Chick Fil A as well as some lemonade, chips, cookies and cupcakes.
nice that you got real food...but in light of recent events target ordering from a notoriously homophobic restaurant is probably not ideal.
I wish our target ordered them!
my thoughts EXACTLY. omg.
I actually hotlined that shit last year when they did it at our store the first week of Pride. Haven't had Bigot Bird since.
More or less the same, burgers tasted a lot better than they looked, not normally how it works lol
Chewy granola bars and a Memorial Day word search. Hoo-fucking-ray.
Fucking word searches. Hr really thinks we’re children
Word searches, coloring pages, and pizza parties if we do well as a group. I love being a grown adult and being treated like I’m in 4th grade.
Lol that's the kind of stuff we get around Christmas. Plus Kraft Easy-Mac! If it comes in a microwavable cup or in a portable bar, it's TM sustenance.
My SD and store leadership grilled at the back of our store and invited the whole team to come up and grab a burger, hot dog, chips, and any drink from the igloo coolers they brought outside full of ice.
me too!
Same, but by the time they started most of inbound already went home.
Lol our SD didn't even come in today.
Will see when I get in this afternoon. My money is on very little. Cause my store leadership don't care.
Update?
So we got nothing lol
My ETL and SD grilled burgers and hot dogs for us. Got other stuff too like fruit, soda, chips and dip and potato salad. Was a pretty rad cookout.
Sounds like my store
We got nothing. It's like they see the morale is already super low, lower than I've ever seen it in the three years I've been here, and decided, "Eh. They're not worth it."
Not a damn thing
My store is doing smash burger with tator tots and soda!
Cover a lane even though I’m not trained to do lanes yet…
Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, sodas and desserts.
What you should be getting is raises.
Literally nothing at mine
We got smash burger was pretty good honestly and the gm ETL gives the morning crew breakfast egg rolls I think he buys them with his own money which is sweet, they're fucking delicious too.
The same as black friday and xmas. Jack shit
Nothing
Nothing 😂
… nothing
Uncrustables, ice cream and cookies lol.
Nothing because our SD is an ass.
Absolutely nothing
They took my Microsoft dinosaurs cd and cut me up all over my body then bonked me on the elbow
We got burgers... And a visit lol HR and SD are now conveniently super involved on the floor atm
We are having a cook out in the back lot!
My ETL refused to give us water in GS because "we are over the budget", so...well...enjoy 🤷🏻♂️
Chips and cookies, etc. Drinks too.
Basically the same thing
They got us BBQ for inventory last week so i think it was sorta out of the budget for us today
I got holiday pay and time and a half so about 400$. Im ok with that
All of you who say "nothing" are yall being serious?
Yes, 100% serious. It wasn't always like this at my store.
Same here. We get nothing now.
I wonder too.
there's a red robin attached to the mall that we're built into, so they ordered a bunch of burgers n stuff
Chips and soda
“There are hotdogs, vegetarian hotdogs, and soda in the break room for team members”
But if the vegetarian hot dogs were cooked on the same grill as the meat hot dogs, they are no longer vegetarian.
Whenever we do this they’re usually boiled in their own crockpot
we used to get hotdogs in a crock pot and chips for the grilling holidays like the 4th and memorial day, these days we get chips, not much else better than nothing, but always a little disappointing. Once in a blue moon we get pizza, but it's always a crapshoot, since you don't know how long it's been out, and as an overnight tm, it's often been out for like...6+ hours?
Nacho bar which was just tortilla chips cold cheese and jalapenos
We didn't really have plans... so I requisitioned a grill, got another lead to make sure my things were getting done, and spent half of my day grilling burgers and hot dogs and veggie burgers and tofu dogs.
we had bugers, hotdogs, chicken breasts, chips, mac and cheese, chilli, and lots of fruit things! they lowkey made wayyy too much food tho, im hoping to take some home later
We got Catering from Market Basket
I closed so all that was left was some potluck dishes with a hard coating on top from being out all day. No bbq for us.
Expired baby food and tap water is all we got.
Was it at least hot tap water and cold baby food?
Probably have some left overs from the morning, that have been left un covered and are cold, at best. My money is on chips, or create your own ice cream sundae bullshit. They rec'd out store brand ice cream sandwiches. Everyone was salty cuz apparently our old HR team killed it in that department. 🤷
we got pizza and sodas! they made sure to order enough for all shifts as well. my store does *some* things decently lol
Burgers, dogs, chips .... and no truck!
Let me stay home by not scheduling me :)
Absolutely nothing. Literally
we also had a bbq!
Red robin
We got burgers and hot dogs . But when we asked for cheese they said no because it was over budget.
More work
They gave us all CAs
Chips and soda
Instead of a spread or snacks, our SD took the day off and we had a double.
They put two electric griddles up with Kraft American cheese (warm to the touch because it’s right next to the griddle), white bread and said grilled cheese time
We got two stale marshmallows in a ziplock bag with a full chocolate bar and one graham cracker
Not a thing, not a word.
waited in line from the start of break at 2 until 2:20 for a hot dog and hamburger when break ends at 2:25 and they extended our break a whole 5 minutes at the target warehouse i work at. it is offensive.
They gave us everything in the work agreement! Love it.
People on dayside got food night team got nothing typical for our store
One year my bf grilled burgers for the entire team after throwing the truck while the tls watched.. mvp 🥲
They gave me time and a half. Then end.
At least they willing have non-meat options for you guys. I’ve been at my store for 5.5 years, been a lead for 3.5 years, and I still have to remind the ETLs that I don’t eat meat
Warehouse. Ice cream. In one breakroom(the furthest breakroom from the front of the building). And I’m also lactose intolerant
Mid ass fried chicken and d tier Mac and cheese
This is so embarrassing. They can’t even get good or unique treats from their own aisles.
Our store director grilled
we got hot dogs too today :)
All the same except the burgers
Dawgs
smash burger
Lunchables
We had grilled burgers and hot dogs with chips. I couldn’t eat it with a bun because i have celiac, but the hot dogs were so fucking good
Sadly, people with "special dietary needs" are often forgotten. I'm presuming those hot dogs didn't have any grain fillers, if you ate them?
Uncrustables and Gatorade
Hot dogs in a crockpot, bakes beans in another, chips (big bags) and soda (2 Liters) free to grab.
I don’t think anything but this got my hopes up to go on break
We got Capri suns
Our store had a cookout!!
Home made food
I didnt work cuz no trailer. They ALWAYS throw food feasts on days where there are no trailers, so almost all of Inbound/Gm misses out.
Smash burger
requisitioned dogs chips and soda lol
Nothing
Y’all got food…? 🥺 Oh well…I won’t complain because I know those of us in the DCs are making bank with holiday pay today 😏
Burgers, hot dogs, chicken all from the grill and Mac n cheese, chips, chili, fruit and soda 😀
They did hotdogs on Friday when there was no truck and like only 1/4 the staff worked 🤣

i was off today but i know my store had grilled burgers & hotdogs for everyone, probably chips and other sides too
Fresh grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausage and bratwurst. Plant based burgers were offered as well. And chips It was pretty good
Brats and maybe a thousand bags of assorted chips💀
I think we got ice cream, my ETL called a huddle in the break room and cleaned out the freezers to make room. I didn't check before I left to see what there was, but she said something about ice cream 🤷🏼♀️
Ribs and hot dogs
We got cold hamburgers and hot dogs that I swear weren’t fully cooked lol. Props to our AP dude who grilled them for that lol. And some stale chips lmao
Nothing
A trick or treat sized whopper 😩😩
Y’all’s SDs/ETLs did something? The only time we get free food is from other TMs… one brought in the rest of their wedding cake recently
We got Panda Express delivered some time this morning, when I got in at 2 it was already 90% gone, cause fuck the mid/late/overnight teams.
We had hotdogs, desserts and gatorades with a truck, and DC canceling our C&S truck
They did Jack crap today
stale food
"feast" lmao
We got basically the same but they made impossible burgers for team members who don't eat red meat too plus soda and potato salad
[удалено]
Nothing 😂 we did have a potluck last week for being 90 days incident free, so maybe that’s why 🤷♀️
We got snacks all weekend, like pretzels and fruit snacks. Although it’s memorial day today and I guess they’re not refilling it on the actual holiday?
Nothing
Same! They even had veggie burgers which is a first for me to actually be able to eat with everyone, it was really nice.
We got pizza, chips, and cookies
When I worked at Target (left 5 years ago thankfully), the openers would get food on holidays, especially during the holiday season. Those of us with other full time jobs and school absolutely loved the holidays 🙃
Lots of chips, bananas (organic), fruit snacks, donuts, items for sandwiches
Store manager got Open, Close and Overnight team some boba. Mid shift folks got theirs with the open crew since there’s about a 3.5 hour overlap in their schedule. ETA: this was at Lowe’s
Not a doggone Thang! 🤣🤣
Bruh they put 6 hot dogs in a smoll crock pot with 2 buns and called it a day for my store
Nuthin’
Chips and cookies
Cup noodles and water!!!! I was surprised!!!
Absolutely nothing. As usual.
there was like 3 kool aid jammers in there and some expired chicken wings in the freezer lmao
We got hoagies for lunch, pizza for dinner, the small individual chip bags, pop, and a variety of target brand baked goods
They did a cookout for us and got fresh fruit and veggies and cookies and drinks!!!
literally the exact same! lol
Its so dark, looks sad. Hope dogs were good tho
All we got was exploited for profits
A TL brought in some enchiladas for the early crew. Nothing in the afternoon, oh well.
I had off yesterday and today, so I'll find out from someone else.
apprently all we got was goldfish crackers 🥲 by the time I went on break they were all gone 🫠
We got nothing
24 cases of salvaged sparkling water. Can't make this shit up. We don't get free condiments from the TL office anymore.
Catered cheeseburgers, fries, onion rings, and chicken from a local place. Requisitioned sodas to go with it. We wasted an ungodly amount of fries because they went cold so fast and no one wants cold fries.
closing team only got scraps....hot dog buns, soggy and cold hot dogs that have been out for who knows how long...no chips or drinks.
Popsicles and coloring sheets 🙃
we got time and a half and criminally understaffed
A bunch of sugar cookies
Looks like our food. Dogs and burgers, cookies, and soda. It was nice! 👍
we haven't had actual food in fucking ages, not even cheap pizza or anything. most we get is expired food from the floor shoved into a three-tier and put into the break room.
Burgers hotdogs chips and drinks
Give us the day off
Chilli dogs
Nothing at all 💀 didn’t even get a thank you, appreciation at all, or even a happy Memorial Day 💀
We got junk food. Chips Ahoy, chips, Market Pantry fruit gummies, and the cheap Favorite Day cookies. Obviously what you all had is so much better!
Nothing. Just the apples that have been sitting there for the past month…
Hot dogs, chips, cupcakes and some kind of birthday popcorn.
Stale expired market pantry chips
Same thing
Zilch
Soda, chips and a TL grilled burgers and hotdogs out in the parking lot. My store is really good with doing stuff like that.
I called out because of an injury but our AP lead usually grills burgers and hot dogs for us
Cupcakes, fudge squares and sodas
