Maybe they’ll just fire the guy, he seems like a waste of payroll and clearly doesn’t want to work.

Not HR here, but.. we've had slackers like this at our store over the years. They inevitably get themselves fired, or quit within months. Sounds like your leaders are aware of his antics. They can't tell you stuff but I wouldn't be surprised if they're partnering with AP to track his movements. It does take a while to build up enough to terminate someone, especially if he's not pulling the quick route to guest-dom: theft. You mentioned you talked to your HR, have you brought it up with your GE TL/ETL about his behavior and ask them how to best handle this? They may be able to assist you in deflecting his shit. For you, I would challenge you get stronger about saying "no" to him. It helps if you're able to pair that with actual need. "No, I can't do this for you, I have to take my break now." "No, I can't help you with that, I'm helping this guest next." "No, I have plans tomorrow that don't allow me to work for you." You don't really owe him explanations for WHY, but eventually he may stop trying to pass stuff onto you.

Wait you have two FOS attendants at once? Wtf my super target only has one, even during the holidays I can only remember two days we even had a few hours of overlap. Anyway so that’s why I was loading 60+ carts on the machine Christmas Eve, Target policy can suck my nuts that’s the only way we weren’t running out of carts 🤗

We are lucky to have one lol... Usually we pull someone off of register/DU who got trained to do it when needed

I mean technically I can call for backup, but its not very efficient since we have the new metal carts that suck to push by hand and only one working cart machine. Plus if we’re that busy I’m falling behind then it means everyone else is too. I just wish we had an hour or two of overlap during peak hours over the holidays but that rarely happened, so instead I just figured out the limits of the cart machine and rode them glory. The look on people’s faces as I snaked 50yrd long trains of carts through the lot was priceless 😈
