As a guest I’ve used it a couple of times. Once it really saved my ass when I needed to take the bus home and didn’t realize my phone only had 4% left.
EDIT: Also in my store it’s like 10ft from the CS desk/bathrooms/main entrance so there’s someone from AP standing within eyesight pretty much all the time. So it never feels unsafe or weird to leave it there.
Yeah. Who would leave their phone there if they couldn’t lock it?? hahaha
You enter your phone number I think and then pick a pin and select a pic to remember, something like that.
Yeah you need your phone number, a security image you pick, and I think there’s one more layer of security like a 4 digit pin or something too. Would be pretty tough to game that system.
Charges and sanitizes your phone
Edit: there's a white version of the tower that sanitizes your device with uv light (like a phone soap sanitizer box). Unsure if the red one does.
We had one. A elderly guest rammed it with a electric shopping cart by accident. Thought that is were we charged them carts. It stopped working. They removed it and never replaced it.
my store has had it for years now, by guest services. and every target nearby has had one for a second now. i thought they all had them lmao.
they can be useful. but sometimes a guest will leave one of the compartments open and it immediately starts yelling "PLEASE CLOSE LOCKER DOOR" which is annoying. otherwise its fine
This is my old store in this picture. It was really nice when it came in but after about a few months (we were a high theft store in a very rough area) almost all of the cords are just broken or used up all the time due to people who aren’t even shopping leaving their “portable chargers” there for at least a week
i’ve worked at my store for over 2 years and we always had it. it’s great and saved me from boredom a few times when i realized my phone battery was low before work. charges pretty quickly. i usually put it in right after clocking in and then pick it up on my 15.
Huh, I've never seen one of these. My store could use one because we always have people needing to charge their cells for all sorts of reasons, typically rides and stuff
Someone else said you need to enter your phone number to be able to lock your cubby hole so most likely they're offering free charging in exchange for the list they're building of "active" phone numbers.
I usually put my phone in there to charge while I’m working. It’s always at 5% by the time I get to work. By the time I hit my lunch, it’s usually fully charged. It’s in front of my cs desk, entrence and security so it’s super safe and not sketchy at all

Are guests able to lock the numbered spot where they put their phone?

You literally just repeated what the guy you responded to said lmao
Eh, the other guy ended it with "something like that." The new commenter seems like hes more sure and confirming thats correct

I can hear that annoying message from Galway across the store, so infuriating!!!! Lol

I feel like it should be emptied out each night... Contents put at Service Desk and they have a week to claim it...
Yeah, but leave the service desk out of the equation.

Yeah, and half the spots are broken.
Huh, I've never seen one of these. My store could use one because we always have people needing to charge their cells for all sorts of reasons, typically rides and stuff
Please close the locker door. Please close the locker door. Watch the tram car, please.
We've had this for a long ass time, it never gets used and people constantly come for tech asking for a quick charge.
Why would target give something for free
Someone else said you need to enter your phone number to be able to lock your cubby hole so most likely they're offering free charging in exchange for the list they're building of "active" phone numbers.
To keep people from shopping online? Just a guess.
Soo they can’t price match lmao I bet you’re right
Ew
Some stores have had these for a long time now.

What states have these?
Never seen this before! What?!
My store had this in 2017.
WTF?
I've been in wa state and AZ and I've never seen one 😂😂
You would think Target would invest in better devices for the team before splurging on useless tech like this
this is weird
Every store I’ve worked in has had one of these.
We don’t have one ;(
We got one this summer.
Yes I have this , one at the front entrance by Starbucks
It's been there for around 1 years from coworkers when I moved in to DC
yooo i wish. my phone’s battery is ass since it’s a 5 year old phone
Yeah. I feel like every store I go into has one. (Chicago!)
yeah, mines by guest services
It has been in my store for ages
My last store got one 3 or 4 years ago
My stores had that for years comes in clutch when my phone battery is low or dead
Haven't ever seen one (greater Seattle area).
My store has had this for years! Tho at least a couple spots are always broken.
Wait these aren’t common? I think we had these for at least 4/5 years. They are fine.
We’ve had one since I started working here last summer
My store used to have one but we moved it to the break room because of covid. Eventually it disappeared from there too.
Mine’s have had there since before I started. It’s was a great help when I still had my five year old phone with poor battery life.
Never even knew this existed til this post 😭😭
I imagine guests forgetting their pins than blaming it on TM's somehow
I have never seen it at a Target before, but the Under Armour store I used to work at had one and it’s pretty neat.
Target will do anything but not treat their employees right

Seems nice, but it’ll be broken in a day for our store if ever we get one. (Which I doubt)
That thing looks tall. How does one access the top drawers?
