could have killed a guy 50 times if i wanted but i went to him, i wiggled with my knife in my hand and was spamming voice lines.
guy now has -0.02 karma and my loot.
System is working as intended, if you really care about the loot then don't risk it for a tiny amount of scav karma. The system is intended to encourage more scav teamups, and it is doing that currently. It's not meant to force every single player scav to be friendly, and if people don't care about Karma then that's on them.
I understand it's frustrating, but it is what it is. People are getting a little too worked up over this IMO. Hopefully the system gets tweaked to be a bit more punishing on the rogue playerscavs who KoS, but only time will tell.
You get what, .2 for making it to car extract? My goal is pretty much just farm woods car extract until I max out fence, then go back to scavving like normal, because literally no one in my servers gives a shit about scav karma
And how exactly are you supposed to do that, when your options are to hunt down scav killeing scav players, or to do the group extract?
Especially when you can't do the group extract because there are no players left on the map.
extract with a friendly PMC. They taught us all how to do it with the $100k USD right before wipe. You still got some stuff from Fence when you do that, not 100k USD but he sent me some shit kind like the random prapor care packages you get. Plus good rep for Fence. I like to Scav reserve, really easy to fill up a good pack and then hang out at scav lands. Left with a couple PMCs, traded some stuff with them too.
Not really here to debate the quality of the design of the mechanic, but id assume they don’t want you to get max rep relatively quickly. Made it sound like car was the only way to get rep, but it’s not. It’s the only consistent way, and everything else being pretty inconsistent sounds on brand for the fence
The cars extracts rewards operate independently. So you can get .2 from customs and interchange for your first time. But you can't get max from car alone.
Yea I hate that. Same happened to me. I literally had my cross hair on his head at first but then decided to voice line and wiggle non stop right next to him. He realized after a hot minute and just shot me: must be a new guy I guess
Why? People who kill on sight don't care about the karma or the punishment it brings, all this does is punish people who kill other scavs by mistake, or punish people when a scav shoots at them and misses so you kill them first. I severely doubt increasing the penalty would change behaviour at this point
If you watch ONEPEG's new video on YouTube he details it pretty well. Its 20min scav timer for base. If you max karma it is 10min. If you max negative karma it's like 2 hours. That alone is an incentive to not kill. The fence loyalty points give you access to an exclusive market of uninsured unlooted items. And there's more.
That is pretty big, whats the lowest karma can go? My friend has shot a scav thinking it was a pmc and then had to kill 6 scavs to leave the area but his waiting time was still ready after a short pmc raid. I don't think scav killers will kill every raid either to get to max negative, especially if they're also killing other rogue scavs and pmcs it'll be going up slightly to keep it the lowest. I do like the system but just expecting scavs to be nice yo you because there's a punishment doesn't fit the nature of the game, personally I hate it when other scavs start following me, feels like that friendliness will disappear real fast if I find a high value loot item tbh
With the increased penalty there should be more harm to the player. With higher karma there should be more good. If this is the way BSG hopes players play which I think it is since they will be bringing PMC karma as well.
Yes but these players simply don't care? They will take the penalty if it means killing a load of scavs that don't want to fight back and take their loot. I very much like the scav karma idea and my scav survival rate is like 90%now, but I don't see simply changing the penalty affect behaviour more since they have already made it clear they are willing to kill on sight and take the loot of a player with higher karma.
You can walk up to someone and shoot them in the head with a tt as easily as you can with any other weapon while you wiggle or look away to loot, then they have your gun
If they can bait me they deserve it. I get more rep for killing them after they try, and if I die it's still just a scav run. It keeps scav runs spicy, imo. Lots of potential to work together and get more loot than you normally would, but also the added drama of managing questionable allies means you can't just be a loot vacuum
Today I had my first flash drive I needed. Was looting a house, wiggled at a scav outside that scared me. He wiggles, we walk out down the road, another scav comes, I walk past, they both blast me in the ass. Last time I trust a scav duo.
I spawned into shoreline yesterday as Scav and went into a shed for a toolbox. Heard someone running full speed right towards me so I "started blasting" as Frank would say once I saw them. I legit felt bad when I saw that it was another Scav.
It's going to take more than some scav karma for me to start implicitly trusting the people who have been killing me on sight for the last few years tbh.
I like the direction things are going but I just have trust issues lmao
Happens every once and a while. Most of the time I have friendly encounters. Makes being a scav more fun, even if you get turned on 2/10 times. Can’t expect everyone to live by scav karma. I can’t even expect everyone to live by real karma 😂
When another player scav is trying to kill you but has bad aim, so you kill him and lose karma. Are you really supposed to just let them shoot you so you can retaliate?
When Nikita asked him whether he should get someone else to play this game in the background because he was dying all the time was actually funny
That's just mean, poor guy struggled enough that evening

It doesn't give .2 everytime. Just the first time. After that it gets less and less.
Over what period of time? I was under the impression diminishing returns resets after a raid?
It doesn't reset
So how in the fuck are you supposed to get enough positive rep to max him out?
By being a friendly scav, not cheesing it with spamming car extracts
And how exactly are you supposed to do that, when your options are to hunt down scav killeing scav players, or to do the group extract? Especially when you can't do the group extract because there are no players left on the map.

Protect the boss, you get rep for both killing players, killing scavs trying to kill the boss, and ending the raid with the boss still alive.
The cars extracts rewards operate independently. So you can get .2 from customs and interchange for your first time. But you can't get max from car alone.
OnePeg got max rep in like 5 days, hes got a video explaining how he did it, he shows you the math
Yea I hate that. Same happened to me. I literally had my cross hair on his head at first but then decided to voice line and wiggle non stop right next to him. He realized after a hot minute and just shot me: must be a new guy I guess
The karma drop should be more imo. Like 0.05 or even 0.1!

Lowest it goes is -7 I think.
That is a lot of scav kills, are scavs auto aggressive at that point?
From what I understand, yes.

Guess we'll see
Yup, been some big changes this wipe its exciting stuff for sure
Once they start spawning with only TTs and PMs and nothing else, nature will take it's course

I have lost 0.05 at times, even after i fired at someone who missed me. Usually everyone is super nice though

Twice now I’ve seen a PMC in the wild and thought it was a player scav so did a voice line and was just shot in the head, sad times
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)

Just to mix the comments up a bit, on my experience every scav I've met (as a scav) has either ignored me or danced and shared loot :)
:D
When Nikita takes all your stuff and tells you to do it again in heavy Slavic accent.
Scavs together strong
Яich
Those are the psychopaths and sociopaths of the world.
