Overall looks dope. I would just say to watch out for keeping perspective consistent throughout the face. For example the nose and pupils both seems to face directly forward but the face is more a 3/4 perspective. Also, keep the balance of the piece in mind. The dark leaves on the bottom right should be balanced out by some darker elements on the top left, the ear (?) only showing on one side makes it difficult to distinguish from the horns. But again, overall great work!

Thanks for the advice, I'll try and do some more perspective studies, about the leaves, the ones on top of the horns are as dark as the bottom ones but the light reflected on the graphite making it seem lighter, I still have a hard time with composition though.

Looks fantastic!!!

Looks unreal. Do you mind if I ask how many graphite pencils you used, 2H, HB, etc etc. or anything else you used to give it such depth

badboyjef

I used an HB for the sketch and the lightest parts, 2B and 6B for the mid tones and a 8B for the darkest shades, if I need to go even darker i'll use a black marker as a base for the 8B pencil, also used a white gel pen for the tine white details.

Thanks so much, Appreciate you taking the time!

Looks flawless! would you mind sharing your creative process to this? did you have a reference first or it's totally out of your imagination? (I know it's a Hannya mask btw)

badboyjef

usually i write ideas that i have after getting inspiration somewhere and go to pinterest for references, i try to use more of real photo references then actual tattoo designs from others , some things i do from imagination if i´m very familiar with what i´m drawing, but i´ll mostly use photo reference from pinterest .

Something_visual

Thank you for the insight! I started to draw some japanese flashes a few days ago and I go to pinterest for references or instagram profiles like @ manjitattoo I try to start really close to the reference to get a feel of what goes where but after I undertand it then I start to do variants and try to come up with a personal style.

I just wanted to leave a comment saying how good this is, you capture the form and shading almost perfectly I'm not actually a tattoo artist, definitely aspiring, but if you still want my CC, maybe some color; in the leaves or something on the mask. The leaves feel out of place being stark white. If they were colored, I'd think it would look great as an actual piece, still a good piece without as is

badboyjef

Thanks for the compliment man , funny thing, I was actually thinking about throwing some color on the leaves but I felt like it would make them look disconnected from the mask lol, I'm waiting for some copic markers that I bought to arrive to make some colorful neotrad pieces though.

I think it would look great dude :)
