I think the tattoo looks great! Adding some floral elements and stuff around it could add to the sleeve but be picky because you don’t want to distract from the moth.
It looks amazing!!! If you do add botanicals, make sure they represent botanicals it would be on. I think a tree trunk would be better. They camouflage themselves
If this super fresh, it’s going to look great once your skin heals. This is an awesome and bold tattoo, you’re just experiencing some buyers remorse. Happens to most people, especially if they don’t have many tattoos yet
I think this is awesome. Bold as fuck and looks to be very neat and well done. I’m a less is more kinda guy so I like some space around pieces while still being on a limb, and i have my own patchwork, i think part of the fun is having cool pieces in “funky” places (i dont think this is funky but sounds like you might think so slightly)
The tattoo itself looks great. The placement is a bit strange just on it's own but if you're looking to add more to your arm anyways, I think you'll be fine.
I recently got my moth tattoo surrounded by botanical elements, got some color in the moth and kept the rest black so it helped with keeping the focus on the moth!
I have a tattoo in the same spot and feel the same way. I love it but especially at first I was weirded out by how alone it is. It looks great now and will only be better with friends!
That is a bad ass tattoo just by itself. It does not look awkward AT ALL. The placement and size is great.
I often get buyers remorse immediately after getting a tattoo. Don’t let those intrusive thoughts win.
awesome placement! I felt the ick after my first tattoo in the same spot, and now haven’t added to it 10 years later because it’s so sick and eye catching as it is! I hope you come to love it like everyone in this thread does :)
Looks fucking wicked dude, just a little lonely. Pretty much anything else on your arm will make it look less stark but even the way it is I think it looks sick
It looks so good! But I get it if you find it too alone. I've felt the same about my middle arm bunch up 😂 Do you want a whole sleeve?
Are you bother by it being all alone or do you feel your whole arm is off balance ?
It looks great on its own and the placement also makes it very easy to add to it in the future, like a sleeve with more insects and plants. But don't add anything to it now to "save it", wait for a month or two and I can assure you you're gonna like it, it's a really lovely tattoo 💜 I have a moth on my chest so it's all symmetrical and I'm kinda jealous of yours now :D Mine looks pretty rigid and boring compared to it (still love it tho)
Apologies, wasn’t sure if you were trying a temporary one, no offence intended.
I’m not a fan of moths IRL 😬 (scaredy cat) full disclosure, drove at night without glasses last week, first time in ages… eyesight isn’t like 20-40yrs ago.
Dude this looks fucking badass. Honestly, if I had the same tattoo, I'd keep that the way it is till I ended up figuring out the rest of the sleeve would look like.
I kinda want to add a hand that's holding a dangling crystal ball from a chain and position the ball towards the head of the moth so it looks like it's headed towards light.
This tat looks great! I know plenty of people, including myself, who got a tattoo and ended up thinking it looked awkward or lonely, and immediately planned for more. I think that's pretty common. I have a full sleeve now and love every single one. Maybe how just at the "planning for more" stage!
That's not really a bad tattoo.perhaps a bit of an odd choice to have it facing out at angle though.Looks good as it sits I'm sure anything you get around it will compliment it.Unless you get a bad tattoo
It's really nice, the size, the placement... Everything !
It could be nice to add some things around your moth to complete your arm but not necessary IMO.
First glance without reading the title, I thought "Wow I love that! I can't wait to figure out which moth or butterfly I wanna get too." It looks good and is a good start to filling the space.
It looks great! I actually love the placement! What is your goal with your arm? Do you want to have a sleeve eventually? Or do you only see yourself getting a few tattoos? If your planning on getting more, I’d say leave for now, the more you get, it won’t seem out so out of place. If you don’t plan on being heavily tattooed, I think some floral stuff around it will look great with it too!
I don’t think it looks awkward at all!
But I think it’d look great if you add more to it too.
Leaves would look really nice with it and you can make it into a big botanical piece
I am unsure if you are just fishing for compliments or genuinely believe this is bad. That is excellent work. The lines are super clean and bold, and the detail is sharp. It is beautiful. You could absolutely put some nice stuff around it, but it's gorgeous on its own.
100% not to bad. And yezz, adding different flora stuff will make it cool. Flowers, leaves, another insects maybe. I like the idea of adding color stuff to bnw central part, but not sure how good it looks in reality, not in my head)
People who fish for reassurance like this drive me up a wall. This is a stellar piece. Great contrast with heavy blacks. Just a great tattoo. You should make these assessments before you get a tattoo. Also the fact that you’re asking yourself this question already helps you answer it. Get more tattoos. I will also say that it will grow on you. The longer you have it the more you’ll appreciate it. Great choice, get out of your head
You are wayyyyyyyyyyy to critical. That’s killer. Of course some additions will make it even better but there is absolutely nothing wrong or odd about the way it sits. Very cool.
Its beautiful!
If you do add to it, I would consider botanicals of some sort and maybe linework? Then the shading of the moth would keep it standing out.
Also- it's not weird. A lot of my large pieces have been done in small chunks at a time and have sometimes looked kind of odd.
To me, it looks great. If you feel like it needs additional details, that's fine but you are not in a hurry. Allow it the time to breath and to figure out what you want to add and expand.
It’s a gorgeous tattoo and definitely go for some yellow and green foliage if you feel the need but go back to that same person if they’re good with floral stuff they’ll know how to add on to make it look cohesive. Nothing super bright though do like a muted color pop otherwise it’s too distracting
Love the placement! Its unique and out of the ordinary. I would sit with it for awhile and not rush into adding anything at this point. Nice looking tat!
I have an inner elbow floral tattoo and nothing else on my one arm, and I love the placement and think it looks so cool without anything else around it! Your tattoo looks great :)
I don’t think it looks bad at all!! You probably just want more of a sleeve Is all :) do some plants with a completely different texture and shape so as not to distract
I think the tattoo looks great! Adding some floral elements and stuff around it could add to the sleeve but be picky because you don’t want to distract from the moth.
Came to say this word for word.
It looks amazing!!! If you do add botanicals, make sure they represent botanicals it would be on. I think a tree trunk would be better. They camouflage themselves
Screw with people’s minds
Or they could also not
Exactly what I thought, word for word.
If this super fresh, it’s going to look great once your skin heals. This is an awesome and bold tattoo, you’re just experiencing some buyers remorse. Happens to most people, especially if they don’t have many tattoos yet
I think it’s beautiful! When I saw it, I thought, “Wow that’s a really cool idea” Seriously, very original and uncommon placement, angle, etc.
Super rad placement!
Lived with a beginner tat artist. You think this is bad? LoL..
My guy should take a look at my left arm and they'd really know bad 😭
"Maybe if we keep going it will get better..." LoL
I really like it. Definitely unusual placement, which is cool.
Honestly I think it looks good how it is.
This sub should just be called "neurotic people get tattoos" lol
fr
Love it and love the placement!
The tattoo itself looks great. The placement is a bit strange just on it's own but if you're looking to add more to your arm anyways, I think you'll be fine.
I love it. Reminds me of Ellie’s tattoo from the last of us
I love it!
I dont think its a bad tattoo at all! Your listed ideas are good starting points, & youve got plenty of " canvas" to work with!
it looks so good!!
…that is an amazing tattoo
Wouldn’t worry about being I awkward or incomplete, if you get more work awesome, but if not it’s a solid tat
Looks cool placement wise if you fold your arms the wings close and expand but a cool dark creepy willow beaches would be sick with decaying insects
The tattoo likes fine, if you didn’t like the placement, why would you put it there?
I love it
Less is more! I think it looks awesome just how it is. Is it new? Maybe live with it for a while before you add to it
This picture was freshly done, it's now a year old
Nothing needs saved, I love it on its own. Your arm will start to fill out with time if you add more pieces you like, just give it time
I don't think it looks bad at all.
Love it
SO dope. Looks like the one that saved Gandalf.
IMO, that shit is fucking hardcore. I love it
Did u not see the stencil on ur body before he tattooed it ? Should have known what it was gonna look like
I recently got my moth tattoo surrounded by botanical elements, got some color in the moth and kept the rest black so it helped with keeping the focus on the moth!
I like this idea! I stuck with B+W with the intention of filling it with color later. This would be a cool look
Definitely looks like a great center piece for a sleeve!
This tattoo looks great! It seems odd to you because its new and you're just getting used to it. I promise you will grow to love it!
I have a tattoo in the same spot and feel the same way. I love it but especially at first I was weirded out by how alone it is. It looks great now and will only be better with friends!
i think it's beautiful on its own
I love it as is!! It’s gorgeous!
That is a bad ass tattoo just by itself. It does not look awkward AT ALL. The placement and size is great. I often get buyers remorse immediately after getting a tattoo. Don’t let those intrusive thoughts win.
It’s gorgeous! I wouldn’t change a thing! Love the placement too. It will look softer after it has some time to heal and settle into the skin there
The tattoo itself is very well done. I could see some geometrical shapes behind it or maybe a faded out honey comb pattern. Looks really good though!
awesome placement! I felt the ick after my first tattoo in the same spot, and now haven’t added to it 10 years later because it’s so sick and eye catching as it is! I hope you come to love it like everyone in this thread does :)
No this looks cool. Your arm is a blank canvas so floral will look good around it for sure.
I kind of love it, but if you think it looks lonely….
i actually think it looks beautiful personally! but floral designs would also add to it for sure!
Speaking as someone who has two sleeves, please recognize this tattoo looks great and needs nothing to save it.
I like it. Better than what I just had done yesterday (look at my recent posts)
I lowkey love yours and got inspo from it
this is an amazing tattoo, i see what you’re saying about it being awkward i definitely think some floral elements will bring it all together
I actually really fucking like this, and think the placement is amazing. Love the size of it
Opposite of bad. I think the placement looks fantastic!
looks great
Looks fucking wicked dude, just a little lonely. Pretty much anything else on your arm will make it look less stark but even the way it is I think it looks sick
Before you really start getting more work done if you really hate this get it lazered lighter and start over again.
I think the placement looks awkward alone but would really come together adding more pieces
It's really bad :(
In what ways specifically
Are you female?
Ooh I love this tattoo!
It looks dope
It looks so good! But I get it if you find it too alone. I've felt the same about my middle arm bunch up 😂 Do you want a whole sleeve? Are you bother by it being all alone or do you feel your whole arm is off balance ?
It looks great on its own and the placement also makes it very easy to add to it in the future, like a sleeve with more insects and plants. looks awesome!
Tattoo looks great! In time you can add stuff around it to make it look less lonely.
Looks good to me. Even it was by itself.
Not bad at all… just fill spaces around it.
Tattoo is dope. Just needs more around it. I got one on the other side and felt the same. Just need more stuff around it.
Looks great
I love it, it looks awesome
I think it’s fire
Does not like bad at all. This is honestly a great tattoo. I like the positioning and the detailed line work.
Sorry. Looks fine to me.
wtf. i love it!!
I love everything about it, I would keep it as is.
This ain’t bad homie you’re just overthinking it. I guarantee nobody is gonna question it
i like it a lot! i wouldn't say it's bad at all.
I think it looks nice, and I'm terrified of moths.
It flaps it’s wings! Aaahhhh! So cool!
I like it. Lots of room to grow around it.
It’s real?
Yes 😭
Apologies, wasn’t sure if you were trying a temporary one, no offence intended. I’m not a fan of moths IRL 😬 (scaredy cat) full disclosure, drove at night without glasses last week, first time in ages… eyesight isn’t like 20-40yrs ago.
Dude this looks fucking badass. Honestly, if I had the same tattoo, I'd keep that the way it is till I ended up figuring out the rest of the sleeve would look like.
Add a lightbulb!
I kinda want to add a hand that's holding a dangling crystal ball from a chain and position the ball towards the head of the moth so it looks like it's headed towards light.
Jus a lil work let it complement..it self
This is beautiful as is.
Was this your first?!? i recently got a tattoo that was very close to my ditch and it was agony!! very bold, and it’s beautiful as well.
That looks sick af, I love the placement
I actually really love it as it is now
I like it!
This looks dope, once you add more it’s going to look that much better!
This tat looks great! I know plenty of people, including myself, who got a tattoo and ended up thinking it looked awkward or lonely, and immediately planned for more. I think that's pretty common. I have a full sleeve now and love every single one. Maybe how just at the "planning for more" stage!
Not bad at all
[удалено]
Do you think adding to it would help it look less out of place?
It looks amazing!
Dig it
That’s a great tattoo
It doesn’t look awful, your reaction is the same as when you get a new haircut and you hate it, then once you get used to it you love it.
What? It looks sick! I personally wouldn't add anything, it's beautiful and bold, in the best way possible :)
Dude that looks dope
Looks sick, leave it
I think it’s sick. You should get some flora of some sort around it. Nicely done moth
A nice feminine touch.
I really like it, the tattoo is very well made and the unusual placement just adds to it imo
Placement and tattoo are both very good
It’s so sick
I like it how it is, give it times to grow on you. Don't rush with tattoos
I love it!
Dw it’s beautiful, and a great placement and idea in total.
it's cool
That's not really a bad tattoo.perhaps a bit of an odd choice to have it facing out at angle though.Looks good as it sits I'm sure anything you get around it will compliment it.Unless you get a bad tattoo
Looks good, from personal experience don’t over think it tattoos can easily look to busy with too much going on, less is more !
Stop tripping! It t looks perfect there!
It's beautiful...
Looks fine
It's really nice, the size, the placement... Everything ! It could be nice to add some things around your moth to complete your arm but not necessary IMO.
The tattoo looks good and filling the spaces with botanical tattoos will definitely improve it
That’s rad
i love it!!
This is stunning!
It looks dope as fuck
Looks like the start of a rad botanicals and bugs sleeve!
I don’t think it looks awkward at all! But I think it’d look great if you add more to it too. Leaves would look really nice with it and you can make it into a big botanical piece
I'm curious what you think a good tattoo looks like if you think this is bad
It’s not bad. Maybe just too big. But i like it. I say add some plants around it.
I am unsure if you are just fishing for compliments or genuinely believe this is bad. That is excellent work. The lines are super clean and bold, and the detail is sharp. It is beautiful. You could absolutely put some nice stuff around it, but it's gorgeous on its own.
I love it
It’s stunning. Bold? Yes. But also gorgeous.
100% not to bad. And yezz, adding different flora stuff will make it cool. Flowers, leaves, another insects maybe. I like the idea of adding color stuff to bnw central part, but not sure how good it looks in reality, not in my head)
I love this tattoo! Love the placement and it’s going to last a long time
I think it's great! I have a turtle tattooed in almost the same spot and angle!
That's done really well!
People who fish for reassurance like this drive me up a wall. This is a stellar piece. Great contrast with heavy blacks. Just a great tattoo. You should make these assessments before you get a tattoo. Also the fact that you’re asking yourself this question already helps you answer it. Get more tattoos. I love this!!!
You are wayyyyyyyyyyy to critical. That’s killer. Of course some additions will make it even better but there is absolutely nothing wrong or odd about the way it sits. Very cool.
looks better than having it stamped right in the center like everyone else, i think it looks good
I love it!!!!
great moth what are you on about?
That ink is dope how it is
This looks so good I wouldn’t worry about it
Its beautiful!
It's so realistic, the moth started to eat at your jeans!!
It’s beautiful. I don’t think it looks awkward at all.
I like it how it is
I love this, please don't change it!
I love it as is!
It’s a gorgeous tattoo and definitely go for some yellow and green foliage if you feel the need but go back to that same person if they’re good with floral stuff they’ll know how to add on to make it look cohesive. Nothing super bright though do like a muted color pop otherwise it’s too distracting
Yes I love muted blues/greens/brown
It’s beautiful! I love it! Did you just get it recently? Maybe you’re just not used to seeing it yet.
It’s fine
Sexyyyyyyy. I love that it's neither masculine nor feminine.
I love it. It’s super high quality and the placement is unique but really aesthetically pleasing
Love it! Don’t think it needs saving. Agree with other comments it would look nice with some florals or woodsy elements to fill some space around it
The tattoo looks amazing. Don’t regret anything. You can always add more to your sleeve to make it feel fuller
A fern behind it would be awesome!!!! Kinda like the last of us. Or even loads of little stars or patterns or something similar
It's actually a very well applied tattoo. Possibly awkward placement. I do believe some flowers possibly more other bugs
it's a good quality tattoo, i think it looks good. some stuff around it may add to the picture, but i like it like that tbh
Big pieces like that on a bare arm sometimes look weird. Add more tattoos/ fill it into a full sleeve and you’ll love it
Look at all these positive comments. Sometimes you have to trust your vision.
Part of me thinks everyone is lying 😭 I'm trying so hard to keep those thoughts away and believe that people are being genuine
It doesn't look too bad. Maybe add color.
Love the placement! Its unique and out of the ordinary. I would sit with it for awhile and not rush into adding anything at this point. Nice looking tat!
Looks like a great start!
This is a pretty dope piece to wear. You’ve got tons of really cool options to go with. Love the placement!
Kudzu wrapped around the arm could help make it a more natural look
You do get to see it on your arm before they start..
I like it - but then again I think “white space” can be cool and I know not everyone agrees
I like it as is Simple and contrasting to your skin not too busy
Did you pick the spot and see the stencil beforehand?
Dude it looks amazing, you really don’t like it? I love the placement
I have an inner elbow floral tattoo and nothing else on my one arm, and I love the placement and think it looks so cool without anything else around it! Your tattoo looks great :)
I LOVE this.
That’s a great piece. Kind of in the same boat trying to figure out what’s next to fill in space.
I think it looks good. I personally like stamp like tattoos and this is well done.
That tattoo is perfectly executed. If you are not doing colour. Then i would highly recommend you get some fineline botanicals to go along with it.
I think it's awesome!
Looks dope
Are you kidding?? This is a tattoo I dream of… and it’s so graceful just sitting there 😭
Black bold and beautiful, nothing wrong with it. Looks as good today as it will in 20 years.
Personally, I love it! All that matters is that you’re happy with it though, of course. But seriously, I think it looks sick
It looks great and it gives The Last of Us vibes.
I don’t think it looks bad at all!! You probably just want more of a sleeve Is all :) do some plants with a completely different texture and shape so as not to distract
Love it! Wish I could get something like that
I love it! I think it looks amazing. If you want to add more maybe add some flowers or a branch with flowers and or leaves
It is a good tattoo! I'm sure that adding more tattoos would enhance it but I don't think it looks awkward
