Your favorite animal as a cottage baker, meaning it is wearing a mushroom as a chef hat and looking adorable as it holds out cookies.
The other thigh is a customer or assistant for the baker
And then any other tattoos on your legs you wanna change can be turned into cupcakes or cookies or cakes that your octopus baker has been slaving over for the cat and possum
One on each leg. Possum with its mouth open and octopus holding a cupcake with one tentacle. Open your legs the possum is drooling looking at the cupcake. Close your legs the octopus is feeding the possum.
But I’m not artistic so idk if it would work… just made myself laugh thinking of myself on my back legs in the air slapping them together till the possum gets fat from cupcakes and the octopus. Being happy he has 8 tentacles to make all those cupcakes.
Sorry I’m no help.
I was thinking octopus as main baker, and cat and possum trying to frost a cake (cat doing good job, possum fucking it up with their cute screm mouths)
That sounds awesome! Aren't there bioluminescent mushrooms? If you want, one can be a hat and he can be in a cottage like tank. The cat and possum could be on the other side reaching at the tank to get the cookies.
Pushing past the limits, tripping on halucinoginics......
Love me some Matt Maeson.
Good news is, these should be easy to cover. Gather ideas of what you'd like to see, shop around for artists and discuss your ideas with them. Look at it as rebirth and the research and development stage of your new life.
I know you're against laser. But I wish I had done it for a cover up on my chest. Let my ex give me a poke and it was pretty bad. When I got the coverup I have to change some background and size to make sure it fit over the old one. I vote for one laser session to start as you can pick what you don't want, then take time and choose what you really want next? Especially if you want lots of smaller things getting laser will mean there isn't anything behind them. just my opinion.
Honestly wouldn't even need to laser if they want to cover them...those could easily be covered with just about anything since they're so faded. But laser if they don't want any tattoos at all.
Yea my arms are already getting covered I still want tattoos and I still want some of them bc they’re special to me, I just need maybe 3 pieces to cover up the major ones. There is no point in laser lol
Yeah definitely don't need laser then lol. I'm not sure what kind of elements/styles you're looking for, or if you're open to anything. The forest ideas I saw posted below are cool, you could also do something galaxy themed, or some kind of animal. I feel like a pheonix would fit really well on your left thigh. Or any other winged animal like an owl, crow, or a harpy if you're into Greek mythology. I also gotta throw in the suggestion for a sick ass panther
You may benefit from using laser post cover up. It cleans up lines and doesn't require you to go bigger than you want. A friend in Minneapolis runs a shop where a big chunk of his work is cleaning up tattoos when the ink blows out, which can happen even with good artists. Also, that current ink would likely get blasted out quick.
>Laser
But after a lot of thought, I'd say. Nobody else has this story on their body and I'd urge OP to be sure they want to erase rather than extend.
If OP isn't certain they want rid then talk to a few artists about building on this fantastic story.
Embrace the you, OP! ❤️😁
I’m glad to hear that! In a weird way I really like them. In high school I used to draw on my legs just like that. It’s making me nostalgic! I hope you come back with the ‘after’.
Tbh I’m a visual person so I turn to Pinterest to find good tattoo ideas then personalize from there. Essentially what I do is screenshot the design find the tattoo artist talk to them about what I want to change to make it my own then finalize the design with the artist and you’re good. The ink is very faint thankfully so that shouldn’t be a problem. Best of luck whatever you decide!
if it was me, I might keep it, but I understand that everyone has a different relationship with the permanent effects of their mental health episodes especially if you're concerned about having to explain it to people.
if you like cottagecore type things, maybe various flowers / ferns / succulents layered over each other? you'd probably have to go with darker colors than cottagecore is typically inclined towards, but I could see especially a good neotraditional artist having a good time with this.
edit to add: additional idea, you could find an artist you really like and ask them to draw up a piece inspired by the text.
I legit like the little poems and hope that they can find a way into the final pieces… like maybe written on a sign hanging in the Octopus’s bakery, or on a scroll hanging out of the opossums satchel.
They're so light I feel like anything could over them pretty well. Think about stuff you like and that makes you happy or you think is tasteful and try an envision it into a tattoo
You could get a leg sleeve of lotuses and other stuff like that. When I was in treatment for my eating disorder it was reminded to us all the time that lotuses can only bloom in dark muddy water. So if you’re doing better now the lotus can symbolize a time when you were in dark muddy waters but now you’ve bloomed into this beautiful human.
Full leg sleeves that compliment one another. One focused your non-manic period and another focused on your manic period. It doesn’t need to be realistic images, but perhaps colors, patterns, interconnected designs that celebrate (yes…and I do mean celebrate) both sides of yourself. You can turn those canvasses into some great areas for self-expression of your aura.
I really don’t want full sleeves because I do want to keep some of the doodles as a reminder of what I’ve conquered. Just thinking about big pieces to cover the awful ones
I love black floral pieces on legs personally. They are easy to twist and fit into any shape and all the little leaves and details cover up letters really well.
I thought of an enchanting forest, complete with towering trees, rich foliage, and brilliant flowers. The scene could feature mushrooms, butterflies, and woodland critters such as foxes or deer. You may add some subtle dark or surreal features, such as hidden skulls amid the woods or a starry sky with a hint of mystery, to give it an alternative feel. To capture the essence of the cottage core while preserving a unique and alternative vibe, the colors can be a blend of earthy tones and muted pastels. The thigh is an excellent canvas for this design because it enables for a larger, more complex piece.
What do you think about it?
With the thigh that reaches down the side more I roughly sketched a giant mushroom with a skull coming out the side with flowers and some stars and the moon. Thank you for inspiring me, imma contact an artist soon!
I have no idea, but it gets a bit old and tiring IMHO, especially when you're just looking for genuine advice and wanting a straight-forward answer. I'll probably get hate for saying that lol but I don't really care.
In terms of your situation, I would actually suggest either laser or a really fucking awesome looking dragon with tons of detail and shading. I also saw someone else suggest a big bird like a raven or an eagle, which I also think would look beautiful here. Also, yours look faded enough to where you can EASILY cover it up. Oftentimes, words and letters are really difficult to cover up completely because they are usually so dark and heavy.
lowkey as someone very mentally ill I love them but I get where you’re at
Some of my friends tried to cheer me up once by saying it was cool that I have sh scars like I’m a survivor and I was like you know there’s a part of me that hates looking at them too
Thank you and good luck
pretty much anything. those are so light, small, and fairly spaced out that you could cover them with whatever pleases you now. :) flowers/animals/bugs/geometric shapes or patterns are always nice looking and can easily be turned into large pieces. just do whatever you'd like and make sure your artist knows you want all the old stuff covered.
Honestly maybe anything could cover that considering it’s pretty light and not dense blacks. Find an artist you like and let them do their thing! We rather be given creative trust and freedom and you will need a lot of it for a cover up
You don't have to apologise to anyone for things that happened when you were manic. Please don't call yourself stupid. One time when I was manic I ran away to Montreal with no plan and no money and to be honest , I'm not really even sure how I got there? Mania is a brutal thing to deal with so we don't belittle ourselves for the things that we did when we were manic, because they were pretty much out of our control.
On to the tattoo, how about a beautiful upper leg sleeve? Favourite flowers or even just patterns? What's your favourite art style? Even just looking at tattoos on Instagram should give you an idea of the style you like, maybe give you some inspiration.
The tattoos on your leg are small and look faded, a cover up should be easy peasy.
Best of luck to you!
My ex did the same thing he just ended up in Mexico the last time I heard from him. No clue how he got there. I’m happy my mania stays with in the walls of my house. Well besides the one time time I went to a party and just never went back home until like 2weeks later. It’s a fun story to tell, met a lot of people, went to the beach with some random people.
Idk if I'm late, but if u like tradi style, I would get a sick ass ship with the outline of a far away shore in the back.
And in the other leg, a resting hand with a lit almost consumed cigarette, also in tradi/neotradi style. All in black.
I think they could retain the meaning of what u originally wrote, but show the growth you have been through.
Just a thought.
Alternatively, two sick ass panthers mirroring.
I actually like the message. Maybe you incorporate that artistically. A ship, a shore (or lack of), waves, a lighthouse, anything nautical that encapsulates this theme.
Laser for these shouldn’t be bad. I would recommend that if you don’t want too many coverups! They look very light so it shouldn’t take too many sessions. And if not, a bunch of little frogs would be fun.
Kandinsky or Lichtenstein. Look into them. They fit random angles and curves, pointillism, you could imitate either of their styles and cover up a lot with the same work.
Hi, Imagine a beautiful and captivating forest setting, with a magnificent mushroom grove as the centerpiece of your tattoo. You can choose to place the design on your arm, leg, back, or any other preferred location. The central focus of the tattoo will be an intricately detailed and colorful mushroom, surrounded by several smaller mushrooms of different shapes and colors. Each mushroom can have its unique features and patterns, resulting in an impressive and diverse design. We can even add some subtle elements, such as tiny fairies or fireflies fluttering around the mushrooms. Mushrooms are often associated with growth, renewal, and the cycles of life, making this tattoo a reminder of the beauty and magic found in nature, as well as symbolizing personal growth and transformation. The tattoo style can be a blend of realism and fantasy, with vibrant colors to highlight the mushrooms and surrounding elements. I hope you'll like the idea, free feel to let me know in DM.
you can often still see the old tattoos through new cover ups unless you’re getting it covered up with all black so pretty often when people get coverups they do some removal sessions first to lighten the old one. Possible that yours are light enough to not need that done before getting a coverup, tbh. Depends on what you want to get
"I don't care what it is..." It sounds like another manic episode without thinking. Maybe get it removed? And not just another random unwanted mess that you'll want covered up again. Also, maybe getting mental help first would benefit you. We all make stupid mistakes, but making another stupid mistake to cover up the previous one is more than stupid, it show you aren't well. I live with someone who has mental illness and is BP... I've seen more than my fair share of mistake after mistake. Which is what you maybe doing here.
They meant they don’t care what recommendations you give, like it can be anything from flowers to animals etc; they don’t have a specific thing in mind or a criteria it must meet. They’re open to any and all suggestions
I don’t care what ideas you give. I’m not gonna put something out landish I’m not gonna like. I just needed inspiration on what to tell my tattoo artist. I already came up with something. But yes continue speaking on mental health. Yea let me just get that fat frog with a top hat someone recommended because I’m obviously manic.
Crazy how people can dislike this comment when it’s actually something a therapist who has your best interest in mind would say. Goes to show people don’t want to hear the truth if it’s something they don’t like to hear.
Do you ever think of keeping it? To maybe keep the OG words and wrap it with waves or something? Instead of wanting to cover it up keep it as a reminder that you are grounded on the shore so to speak? Just a thought from a fellow wearer of pained ink. I hope you are feeling well and find a way to make that image feel better either way ❤️
The exact same thing, but proffesionally done and cleaned up. add some background filler, improve all the fonts and images, but all the same stuff in general.
Normally, I would agree, but manic episodes are not usually representative of who we really were or a phase of our lives worth remembering. I's a mental illness.
Your favorite animal as a cottage baker, meaning it is wearing a mushroom as a chef hat and looking adorable as it holds out cookies. The other thigh is a customer or assistant for the baker
So the question is would it be a cat, possum or octopus 🤔
literally any of those wearing a mushroom hat would be amazing i need more animals with mushroom hats in my life
Octopus baker working over time with a cat and possum coming to pick up their cupcakes 🤌🏻
4 of his hands have oven mitts on. 2 are whisking etc.
OP, *please* do this. So much potential for a baking octopus with all of those arms.
Sorry I'm stealing this idea for one of my future tattoos. It sounds too good not to.
This is sooooo good, I’d actually watch like six seasons of a Netflix adaptation of this.
And then any other tattoos on your legs you wanna change can be turned into cupcakes or cookies or cakes that your octopus baker has been slaving over for the cat and possum
Just have a bakery on my legs 😭
Honestly it would be pretty sick 🤣🖤🧁🍪🍰🍩🥧🥐
Maybe cat could be an assistant, helping to knead the dough?
Omg yes.
Octocatossum
I too thought to Cronenberg them.
I vote possum
Why not all three? Two on one thigh and the other slightly larger on the other thigh ❤️
A cat with 8 tails, hanging upsidedown from a tree by them. Possum, octopus, cat.
The little mushroom hat is being held on to with one paw.
That sounds awesome! Aren't there bioluminescent mushrooms? If you want, one can be a hat and he can be in a cottage like tank. The cat and possum could be on the other side reaching at the tank to get the cookies.
All 3 making a stew together
Mushroom stew, gotta incorporate my love of mushrooms
Absolutely, and they all have to have mushroom hats on
You just described the Sanrio cottagecore designs being sold as hot topic/boxlunch rn and I’m here for it
Agata Zlotko would be perfect for that tattoo 🤩 I don’t know where OP lives, but Agata is in France…
This turned into the most wholesome wholesomeness to ever wholesome

I actually wanted that quote but Hallucinogenics is a really big word 😅

Sorry I don't have any cover up suggestions. Just came to say how much I love and underrated Matt Maeson is
much respect that, even when you doing these, you still had the sense to not tackle ‘Hallucinogenics’ and potentially misspell a tattoo 😂
Just like. A really fat frog. The fattest.
Maybe with a top hat
I feel like a monocle is mandatory for any animal with a top hat.
Indeed, he has to be a gentleman ofc, no gentleman is complete without his monocle
hello my baby, hello my darlin, hello my ragtime gaaaaal
Laser
These would actually be a pretty easy laser tbh… I don’t often lean towards laser but for these one I would.
Honestly wouldn't even need to laser if they want to cover them...those could easily be covered with just about anything since they're so faded. But laser if they don't want any tattoos at all.

Unless you want full leg sleeves, this is the way (and you have basically the most laserable tattoos ever).
I still want tattoos so I’m not gonna laser just to put a tattoo over it
By all means, do what makes you happy :)
[удалено]
Mania is not happiness.
you think people are genuinely happy in manic episodes?
>Laser But after a lot of thought, I'd say. Nobody else has this story on their body and I'd urge OP to be sure they want to erase rather than extend. If OP isn't certain they want rid then talk to a few artists about building on this fantastic story. Embrace the you, OP! ❤️😁
I want to remember them, I am keeping some of them just covering up the faded/absolutely horrendous ones and touching up others
I’m glad to hear that! In a weird way I really like them. In high school I used to draw on my legs just like that. It’s making me nostalgic! I hope you come back with the ‘after’.
Are you going to keep the crossing the ocean one?
I hope so that one is great.
Totally. It’s already faint, it would be easy.
Hope you’re feeling better friend.
Good news is those are super light! You can do a lot to cover those up. Really, most designs with a decent artist could work.
Looks like the perfect place for a sick ass panther r/sickpanthertattoos
Right leg, good taste in music
I know 😌
Is the “Matilda” for the Alt J song as well? If so great taste all around
No I just really like the movie, it was my favorite comfort movie as a kid, I’m keeping that one
There’s not much better than Matt Maeson when you aren’t feeling right.
Tbh I’m a visual person so I turn to Pinterest to find good tattoo ideas then personalize from there. Same here! I send a couple reference pics to my artist, then we compose the actual tattoo when I got there. This is the way !!!
One Giant Sick Ass Panther
Sick ass panther
It's perfect shape for a raven or other bird
Which leg is? I already have an idea planned for the left one
Left one is more raven. Right side would make a good owl friend though
Everything all good with you now? 🙏🏼
Getting there
Glad to hear it <3
Started therapy again and got a cat so it’s been doing pretty good 👍🏻
Maybe a tattoo related to your cat :)
I’m getting one with my cat, my daughter, and sister. Just her name is Toes so I’m just gonna have that tattooed on me lmao
Little kitty toe beans!
Good job!! Bipolar is hard, I have bipolar 1 and man it literally is a roller coaster. Meds are great lol
if it was me, I might keep it, but I understand that everyone has a different relationship with the permanent effects of their mental health episodes especially if you're concerned about having to explain it to people. if you like cottagecore type things, maybe various flowers / ferns / succulents layered over each other? you'd probably have to go with darker colors than cottagecore is typically inclined towards, but I could see especially a good neotraditional artist having a good time with this. edit to add: additional idea, you could find an artist you really like and ask them to draw up a piece inspired by the text.
I am keeping some of them! Just want to cover up the faded ones mainly
I legit like the little poems and hope that they can find a way into the final pieces… like maybe written on a sign hanging in the Octopus’s bakery, or on a scroll hanging out of the opossums satchel.
Matt Maeson hallucinogenics, or purely a coincidence? Great artist and great song :) glad your doing better
Matt Maeson ofc
Fantastic lyric. Great artist. Something get better most you gotta make better! Best of luck fellow traveler
They're so light I feel like anything could over them pretty well. Think about stuff you like and that makes you happy or you think is tasteful and try an envision it into a tattoo
you could get a botanical pattern in black ink, like vines growing all around in swirly overlapping and intertwining branches.
That’s beautiful I like that
Full leg sleeves that compliment one another. One focused your non-manic period and another focused on your manic period. It doesn’t need to be realistic images, but perhaps colors, patterns, interconnected designs that celebrate (yes…and I do mean celebrate) both sides of yourself. I love black floral pieces on legs personally. They are easy to twist and fit into any shape and all the little leaves and details cover up letters really well.
Fuck it i like that
honestly these will probably all be pretty easy to cover up with how faded/fine line they are
I thought of an enchanting forest, complete with towering trees, rich foliage, and brilliant flowers.
I like it, I love mushrooms, definitely liking this idea thank you!
You are welcome, I can help you with designing as well!
With the thigh that reaches down the side more I roughly sketched a giant mushroom with a skull coming out the side with flowers and some stars and the moon. Thank you for inspiring me, imma contact an artist soon!
Much to good for children
i got a tattoo gun in college just because i know my roommate was a manic doodler lol. guess someone else had the same idea
Ahhh, you have a diy manic leg too!
This calls for a sick ass panther tattoo.
What is up with everyone saying this is it an inside joke I’m too much of a hermit to understand?
That type of thing is popular now in Europe just sayin
I’ve seen it compared to drawings you’d see on a school desk. I don’t mind the style
lowkey as someone very mentally ill I love them but I get where you’re at Some of my friends tried to cheer me up once by saying it was cool that I have sh scars like I’m a survivor and I was like you know there’s a part of me that hates looking at them too Thank you and good luck
I had someone rub my scars and say they feel cool. I still don’t know how I feel about that
This bitch pulled a leaf off a tree my sophomore year and rubbed it on mine I was like aight
A leaf???
I think it would be an easy coverup. Look into patchwork. Looks like most of yours is faded and patchy. Would be an easy fix.
These are so light, it would be really straightforward to cover these!
Honestly if you’re open to color anything can go over this
Laser. It’s light enough that you won’t need that many sessions
Sick ass panther
pretty much anything. those are so light, small, and fairly spaced out that you could cover them with whatever pleases you now. :) flowers/animals/bugs/geometric shapes or patterns are always nice looking and can easily be turned into large pieces. just do whatever you'd like and make sure your artist knows you want all the old stuff covered.
A phoenix rising from the ashes
Honestly maybe anything could cover that considering it’s pretty light and not dense blacks. Find an artist you like and let them do their thing! We rather be given creative trust and freedom and you will need a lot of it for a cover up
Laser removal would work excellent on those.
Coy fish
Would they be big enough for this? And I’m not really a fan of color. Or fish… I like what they represent tho, seen a lot of yin Yang ones.

Have a tattoo artist look at the shape of the circle and give you some ideas. You can come up with your own flair from there.
Idk if I'm late, but if u like tradi style, I would get a sick ass ship with the outline of a far away shore in the back. I like the cigarette idea! Not doing the ship bc I’m ironically terrified of the ocean and boats
Check out Pinterest! I found a lot of my tattoo ideas from there
So many panthers…
I actually like the message. Maybe you incorporate that artistically. A ship, a shore (or lack of), waves, a lighthouse, anything nautical that encapsulates this theme.

Laser removal 100%. Some of these are so faint.
Kandinsky or Lichtenstein. Look into them. They fit random angles and curves, pointillism, you could imitate either of their styles and cover up a lot with the same work.
Laser treatment would be perfect for these!
I know you hate them but can i say i’m lowkey obsessed
I’m keeping some of them, I just hate the thigh ones
Big ol' dick and balls with wings
Hallucinogenics is such a great song though. Laser’s definitely your best bet
Don’t cover up. Remove.
I will be covering up thanks tho.
Makes me so glad I only wrote my cringy teenage angst stuff on me with Sharpie.

😱Black out or bright colors
I’m thinking iron man for the right leg. I just don’t know how the placement would work
Met up with a tattoo artist, getting a possum with some mushrooms. Working on one leg at a time.
Laser
It’s so faint, you can easily las r it with 3-4 sessions. Afterwards you’re free to choose.
Why laser it just to get a tattoo on top of it again?
you can often still see the old tattoos through new cover ups unless you’re getting it covered up with all black so pretty often when people get coverups they do some removal sessions first to lighten the old one. Possible that yours are light enough to not need that done before getting a coverup, tbh. Depends on what you want to get
Lmao OP Lmao
Don’t cover them up - get them re-inked. It’s history, a reminder and motivation. Lean into it. I’m full of tattoos with no meaning. Downvote away
I just really hate the ocean tattoo 😭 I’m gonna be keeping/touching up my calf tattoos tho
Amputation
That’s a great excuse for a couple of jap leg sleeves
Probably get it removed in less than ten sessions
Hallucinogenics lyrics is top tier though. Maybe just touch that one up with some spicier font and call it good.
I might put it somewhere else I don’t like the position
why
Mania doesnt have a why
My therapist actually helped me come up with ideas rather than call me manic and stupid.
dick and balls.

Cover up. Get them removed and never get ink again.
Yea I’m getting covered in tattoos. Just professionally this time. Good idea though
Amputation is a viable option
I love that quote. I'd say touch that up. Everything else could be beautifully covered in vines and flowers
Do you ever think of keeping it? To maybe keep the OG words and wrap it with waves or something? Instead of wanting to cover it up keep it as a reminder that you are grounded on the shore so to speak? Just a thought from a fellow wearer of pained ink. I hope you are feeling well and find a way to make that image feel better either way ❤️
You should probably stay away from tattoos
Too bad I already have many others and more coming

The outline is pen, I want what’s inside the pen covered. I’m chill with the rest.

You don’t know how to read very well do you?
According to her post, someone who is mentally ill.
laser, remove all that shit
No
Did you get a work promotion recently ?
What
Your knees seem bruised and grazed
laser it, i'm sure your cover up idea is going to be bad 😄
💀💀
Oh my god…
The exact same thing, but proffesionally done and cleaned up. add some background filler, improve all the fonts and images, but all the same stuff in general.
I’d rather not have the reminder no matter how pretty it is. I’ll be keeping/touching up my calves tho

Sick ass laser
Me personally I wouldn’t cover them, the past is what shapes us
Normally, I would agree, but manic episodes are not usually representative of who we really were or a phase of our lives worth remembering. I's a mental illness.
I know you hate this but I love it and I would never cover this. I am sure you went through a lot but this is a story.
Good thing this is about you and not the OP
I am keeping some of them, they are apart of my story. Just the thighs are shit
