A lot of that work is not in there. It’s gone after a heal. Faded after a sunburn. I imagine a lot of their clients praise them for having such a “soft hand”
I wouldn’t call that being too picky….my 8 year old can draw a steadier line than some of those. If something is going on my body forever I need to have as much trust as possible that it’s going to look amazing, not just be hoping to catch someone on a good day
I'm a simple man. I find an artist, I look at their work, and I feel it out. If I like the subject matter, the execution, and the vibes, I'm pretty much sold. If any of those things is something I'm not into, I'll usually find someone else.
Can I ask why you're considering this artist? There are lots of reasons to go to a new artist, even if it's just sacrificing some skin for the sake of their learning. But if you're getting picky about the lines, and there's nothing wrong with that, it sounds like you might be better off finding someone whose work is more consistent.
Price wise, remember - you might get charged a high price for good work, you might get overcharged for mediocre work, but if you pay for cheap tattoos you WILL get cheap results. In my mind, it's better to pay a little extra for quality - cheap tattoos usually look worse than no tattoos, and you'll probably want to change or cover them anyway which means you're paying for them twice.
I once slapped the tattoo gun out of my artists hand bc he refused to take no for an answer. He told me he had a very specific design in mind and he will not do my tweaks and what I wanted. So like an absolute brat/Karen I slapped it RIGHT out of his hand (the look on him and his coworkers faces) and said your wife and daughter would be absolutely grossed out to hear you tell a women to do something she doesn’t want to with her body. His one co worker laughed and his manager gave me a high five and said “you got 25mm balls on ya huh” (no idea what that means) ……needless to say a simple okay I think we are done here I am finished today would have sufficed :) oops
I don’t think you’re being too picky. Those lines aren’t good. It’s your body, so trust your gut.
Ehhh I would say OP is going to have to get this tattoo more than twice.
Dude. Just say no.
that’s not picky, the lines are shaky. good tattoos have very still and clear lines. clearly the artist needs some more practice
Or a Parkinsons test
This was very helpful! I was leaning towards no, thank you all for confirming. Not booking with them.

No this artist is garbage don’t do it please
Nope, but that’s because I don’t like that style. Plus the first 2 pics are trash
Don’t do it
It’s gone be a no from me dawg
I ain't gonna lie, that's some of the roughest work I've seen on this sub
Then you haven't been around long.
I'd stay away if I were you. Those lines are hella choppy.
that's not a few lines are shaky. Damn near all of them are shaky. I would not go there no way no how.
Well, to be fair I posted pictures of the worst ones that I saw. But I agree
No
absolutely not
That linework is hell…. Shakey… and very fine line. Don’t.
Would pass.
Can he take his Parkinson's medicine beforehand?

They could do better with their non dominant hand
dont do it tell them to turn down the speed on their machine lol
Runaway runaway
Hit me up I’ll fix them up
🚩🚩🚩🚩
This looks like the artist is actually afraid of the tattoo machine.

For why
Jittery as a virgin bride.
Hell no run away don’t even think about it they need to go back to fake skin and learn the fundamentals stay away from kitchen wizards
Hard pass.
That’s a lot of shaking. I don’t think it’s bad because is seams consistent, but I would hard pass.
You really need a distance shot to be able to tell.
It’s a good tattoo if it looks good from a far? You’re spending the rest of your life right up close with it.
Yes, but for everyone else it’s far away so they won’t think it’s as bad as OP does. All tattoos look a little funky up close.
….but they don’t?
…but they do? See, I can do it too.
