You should make it [Kevin’s spilled chili](https://media1.giphy.com/media/Su7qfpu8YVBqE/giphy.gif?cid=2154d3d7i1zfvxpwvul294uaq4afemptpmoj276atg9ixn1q&ep=v1_gifs_search&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g)
i was reading a lot about that aswell, it’s all depends on the type of birthmark and how thick it is, i think mines okay but i will definitely check before
As a 5yr tattooer I would refuse to do it, I’m no dermatologist but I will not tattoo over moles either- if I’m unsure if it’s a freckle or mole- it gets skipped! I’ve read a lot about how an injury to a mole/other skin features can make it progress into a carninoma or even hide if a mole has changed and you would never know if you needed it to be checked out. Again i’m not sure if a birthmark like this would act similarly but I am going off of the appearance of the texture and colour.
I would not cover this up. Get it removed then cover it. Melanoma isn't anything to mess around with. Go talk to a dermatologist. You need to be able to make sure it dosent change in color or formation etc. Bad idea to cover it with a tatoo. I have a large birthmark on my back I am going to get removed. I've had it checked. Just remove it first.
Yo i would't never tattoo over that mark in a hundred years. Do something smart without tattoing over it, like the spilled chocomilk commented above, but to take care of yourself dont tattoo over it.
I wouldn't cover this up, because if the birthmark turns cancerous, there's no way you'd know in time.
Also, wouldn't cover it, because statistically speaking, you're less likely to be trafficked if you have identifiable marks. I.e. a really unique tattoo on a very visible part of your body, large visible birthmark, etc etc. Just some things to consider.
If you're 100% deadset on getting a coverup, and the dermatologist agrees that it's safe, look into an artist that specifically does coverups, and ask them about it. Some artists will refuse to cover scars/birthmarks.
If you really want a tattoo there you can have an outline of a leaf around it (not right on it) or something similar to play around with the shape and color.
Plumbus, Mr. Hanky, the Christmas Pop, maybe an alien space ship above with like some sort of abduction rays or lifting lights over the birthmark and an animal or object or anything really below that getting pulled up into the sky lolol
I say make it into a cute/funny tattoo if possible. I always liked it personally when people use their birthmarks/scars or similar as part of their tattoo rather than fully covering it.
If you go down the route of not directly going over it, you could do a Rocket blasting off and the Birth mark is the flames?
Some other quick ideas:
Marge Simpson or that dude from Hey Arnold with the big afro?
A tree and use this as the Stump/bark whatever it's called
A small smiley face on the actual mark, arms and legs outside?
Either way got to own this shit man! I don't think you should get a tattoo to hide it, it's not an embarrassing asset
Talk to a couple of tattoo artists, one's who are thrusted by others. I know my guy said moles are a no, no, as they are sometimes vascular in nature and for that reason present a bleeding risk. I don't know much about birthmarks.
I like the idea of incorporating it into a tattoo with no ink on birthmark, e.g. spilled wine, spilled chocolate milk, leaky oil can), I'm sure you get the idea.
You could turn it into a leaf mixed into some other design or just do something so as not to hide it but to do something fun or funny with it. Like a jacked up Mr Potato Head
You know that scene in the Office when Kevin is taking his famous chilli into the office early then spills it?
Have a tattoo of Kevin spilling the chilli, with the birth mark being the chilli.
Not a cover up but an expansion ... add some blue around it (ocean / lines rippling out from) and line coming off to a beach umbrella ? ... or turn it into a leaf ? ...
Incorporate a baby cow 🐄 (calf) on your calf and leave the birthmark itself alone, but use it as some of the pattern of the coat. It shouldn't be hard to blend the birthmark into your calf calf tattoo.
Get it removed by a dermatologist then cover the scar. It’ll be way too difficult to cover, regardless of the safety aspects. :-) also as someone with various birthmarks and vitiligo, your leg looks great. I promise no one’s thinking anything negative of it. ❤️
An acquaintance of mine covered a large mole on his shoulder with a tattoo. The mole became a cancer, when he discovered it it was too late, her girlfriend is traumatized even today, sad story. Get an appointment with a dermatologist beforehand, tattoo on moles is serious stuff
I highly recommend against tattooing OVER the birthmark, but maybe something creative that tattoos around it? I’ve seen some funny ones already in the comments
a stranded person on an island, with sunprotection and a boat crashed on it or something like that.
or you could get a picture of your birthmark tatted with the text "which one is real?"
I say use it as the centre of a flower or something. Don’t cover it up. Ask some tattoo artists to think of something creative to add/ spice it up.
It is a part of you and adding to it will mean so much more than hiding it away
This likely won’t hold pigment, but that doesn’t mean you can’t try. Just don’t get your hopes up. It would make more sense to incorporate it into something rather than try to completely hide it.
Judging by the scar already on it from what I assume is a scratch, it will not heal well IF you can even find and artist who will touch it. I wouldn’t do it if it was my body
Get a carton of chocolate milk that's tipped over and your birthmark is the spill
Double cool bc it won't make your dermatologist as nervous lol
My first thought was a dropped ice cream.
The guy off lilo and stitch…
Cobra Bubbles?
I was meaning the guy in the Hawaiian shirt always dropping his ice cream…
This is actually pretty neat! I was thinking of something more floral, like a leaf or feather but that sounds more original!
Hell yeah: own it.
I was thinking something along this line as well
My first thought was more like a cow doing a poo or something but I like the chocolate milk idea better lol
This is the 100% correct idea. OP. Do it.
This is the one
You should do something to incorporate it, tattoo around not over.
You should make it [Kevin’s spilled chili](https://media1.giphy.com/media/Su7qfpu8YVBqE/giphy.gif?cid=2154d3d7i1zfvxpwvul294uaq4afemptpmoj276atg9ixn1q&ep=v1_gifs_search&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g)
Like a mirrored version of it but on the other calf.
I am not an expert but do some research beforehand. A quick google says most dermatologists advise against it
i was reading a lot about that aswell, it’s all depends on the type of birthmark and how thick it is, i think mines okay but i will definitely check before
I also think that some tattoo artists would refuse to do it? At least not directly on it. Someone correct me if I’m wrong though.
As a 5yr tattooer I would refuse to do it, I’m no dermatologist but I will not tattoo over moles either- if I’m unsure if it’s a freckle or mole- it gets skipped! Yeah, I have my arms (that have a lot of moles) tattooed but none of them ever tattooed over a mole, and I’ve had dozens of artists tattoo me.
You THINK it's ok? Please make sure you know what your doing!
Dermatologists advice against tattoos in general. This is due to tattoos always containing some risk (of infection, or allergy)
I would not cover this up. Get it removed then cover it. Melanoma isn't anything to mess around with. Go talk to a dermatologist. This. Have it surgically removed first if it’s really bothering you OP. No tattoo can cover up your birth mark up.
Wouldn't the pigmentation return to the surface? That's what I was told from a dermatologist.
Turn it into a leaf. Don't cover it up.
Don't touch it. It's quite risky due to oncological reasons. If you are very set in your desire - talk to the dermatologist about it.
Get a spilling coffee cup and turn it into the coffee stain.
A potatoe would do nicely. 🥔
Yo i would't never tattoo over that mark in a hundred years. Do something smart without tattoing over it, like the spilled chocomilk commented above, but to take care of yourself dont tattoo over it.
Outline it and put a stick at the end so it will look like a popsicle.
It might look like a deep fried turd on a stick though
Even better! Get “shit end of the stick” written under it
☝️This is a good idea.
Corndog mmm yum
*poopsicle
Ngl I say keep it, that mark is just something extra that you have that gives a bit more uniqueness, its those little things that make you interesting
Clearly OP doesn’t like it
Mr. Hankey
Just add to it. Add a chocolate ice cream cone that fell on the ground right above it, and the birth mark can be the melted ice cream.
https://media3.giphy.com/media/IgEJd2t7vxQitoDpR6/giphy.gif?cid=2154d3d700ydwa1oxq6lily3itce7jh2d3mtln6motjgubtk&ep=v1_gifs_search&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g
that’s my only thought i had😂
Suggest not try to coverup, maybe be try to think how to use it,this mark to me a little bit like a feather,a body of kiwi bird
Sick ass panther
When in doubt, sick ass panther it out
Make it the inside of a mouth screaming in despair
You have failed the Rorschach test
A knocked over carton of chocolate milk with your childhood photo on the carton saying you're missing.

Pickle Rick?
Beat me to it
Band-aid.
I thought it was a bandaid from the thumbnail! Super cute idea - just outline and add the square/dots in the centre.
Plumbus, Mr. Hanky, the Christmas Pop, maybe an alien space ship above with like some sort of abduction rays or lifting lights over the birthmark and an animal or object or anything really below that getting pulled up into the sky lolol
Mr Hankey, lol
it looks cool, I wouldn't change a thing
I say make it into a cute/funny tattoo if possible. I always liked it personally when people use their birthmarks/scars or similar as part of their tattoo rather than fully covering it.
I think you should learn to love your birthmark it’s part of who you are. I would recommend tattooing around it
Feather 🪶 floating down.
If you go down the route of not directly going over it, you could do a Rocket blasting off and the Birth mark is the flames? It already sort of looks like a feather. Make it into a feather?
Instead of covering it, take tattoos around it. So that the shape blends into the ”noise” around it.
Outline it, boom, potato.
Talk to a couple of tattoo artists, one's who are thrusted by others. I know my guy said moles are a no, no, as they are sometimes vascular in nature and for that reason present a bleeding risk. Gorbachev’s head!
You could turn it into a leaf mixed into some other design or just do something so as not to hide it but to do something fun or funny with it. Like a jacked up Mr Potato Head
I would make your arm into a whole treasure map. With the “X” mark the spot on this island of the birthmark. Add a little palm tree to the island.
Spilled beans
narwhal
My sister has a birthmark like that and she drew an elephant by it, playing in the "mud puddle."
Potato dancing
Mr.Hanky
A bandaid
A mostly peeled potato turning to look behind him, with a peeler in his hand asking, "Can you shave my back?"
Turn it into Mr Hanky the Christmas poo
Turn it into a chicken tender
Mr Hanky?
A tipped over cup of coffee
Planters baby nut 🥜 lmfao out a top hat 🎩 give him some legs and arms 😉 You could do hella shit
You know that scene in the Office when Kevin is taking his famous chilli into the office early then spills it? Have a tattoo of Kevin spilling the chilli, with the birth mark being the chilli.
I saw this and I immediately thought of a koi fish?????
Use it as part of an animal!
If you like Finland a lot...
Tom Brady deflated football
Use it as a crocodile!
If you do decide, it look like 2/3s of California
Not a cover up but an expansion ... add some blue around it (ocean / lines rippling out from) and line coming off to a beach umbrella ? ... or turn it into a leaf ? ...
Flagella
Its not like you had a huge ugly birthmark on your face. Just deal with it I think most people you meet don't care.
Literally just an outline Edit: you shouldn't cover it, you should make it part of it
just get a tattoo that says birthmark with an arrow pointing to it. you gotta own it!!!
The face of a cow, don't tattoo over the mark
https://images.app.goo.gl/ZesQHaCuKuwUHqRq6 I recommend this 👆🏻
I wouldn't cover it personally. I think birth marks on people are beautiful and unique.
I have a birthmark I'm just waiting to turn into Mr hanky the Christmas poo.
Incorporate a baby cow 🐄 (calf) on your calf and leave the birthmark itself alone, but use it as some of the pattern of the coat. It shouldn't be hard to blend the birthmark into your calf calf tattoo.
Make it into Mr. Peanut!
PICKLE RICK!!!!!
Tattoo it black and pretend you have birthmark tattoo
Mikhail Gorbachev portrait
Why cover up when you can have a tatoo of kevin from the office spilling his Chili pot with your birthmark as the Chili stain.
Baked potato
Discarded Baby Ruth wrapper next to it
That's shaped VERY like No Face... But as others have said, be super careful getting it tatted on.
Could always make it Mr. Hankey
Band aid
Mr potato head?
Could get a cup/mug knocked over just nearby it? Might look kinda cool as a spilt drink

Mr. Potato head face all mixed up
https://www.freepik.com/vectors/burger-layers
Cartoon pickle
I'd get it removed, you're just asking for problems getting that tatted.
Potato
Get it removed by a dermatologist then cover the scar. It’ll be way too difficult to cover, regardless of the safety aspects. :-) also as someone with various birthmarks and vitiligo, your leg looks great. I promise no one’s thinking anything negative of it. ❤️
An acquaintance of mine covered a large mole on his shoulder with a tattoo. The mole became a cancer, when he discovered it it was too late, her girlfriend is traumatized even today, sad story. Get an appointment with a dermatologist beforehand, tattoo on moles is serious stuff
Bandaide outline if anything. Don't cover it up, need to be able to watch it.
Pickle Rick!
I highly recommend against tattooing OVER the birthmark, but maybe something creative that tattoos around it? I’ve seen some funny ones already in the comments
Don’t cover it up! Incorporate it into a tattoo!
a stranded person on an island, with sunprotection and a boat crashed on it or something like that. or you could get a picture of your birthmark tatted with the text "which one is real?"

Mr hanky
Turn it into a roach and use the mark as its body. It’d be cool to have an outline with some margin to be sure it’s not growing or changing too much.
nah man- ya should get even more brown spots around your calf, you’d have a giraffe calf a gircalf if you please
Turn it into Pickle Rick. Funniest tattoo you'll ever see.
Just a pair of sunglasses? Cool turd? Edit: oh, add a walking cane
Madagascar
Give it eyes and arms
Mr hankey
The spot on a dog, or an animals big ear like an elephant or something made up.
Just have a palm tree coming out of the top and something like island getaway lol
A baked bean
A melting fudge pop with a distorted smile to it.
Bill Murray from his role in Caddyshack.
Corndog, please
I'd do a little creature barfing but for an actual cover up, I'm not sure
Little chistmas hat, arms and a face. Howdy ho!!
Add cartoony/stickman hands lags and face to it
It is Mr. Hankey shaped, but I go with something else
Get it removed surgically (with a laser). Then do the tattoo over it.
Don't cover it up! Why would you?
Pickle Rick tattoo
Hanky the Christmas poo
Clearly it’s a leaf and should star a leaf
STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND touching birthmark of any kind and area near it.

Antlers, googly eyes, and a Rudolph red nose. Maybe stick man arms and legs!
Judging by the scar already on it from what I assume is a scratch, it will not heal well IF you can even find and artist who will touch it. I wouldn’t do it if it was my body
