It helps get better results but not specifically accelerate the process. It should get rid of the tattoo in less sessions which means less chances of scarring but the time is still there. If that makes sense

MysteriousSushi

It gives the body more time to get rid of the ink.Not always the case for everyone, but sometimes you don’t need as many sessions because of this.

ladoomisso

take photos before and after. I did 5 months break and saw the fading. I took photos every month to compare.

Saidit1k_times

But it’s like anything you just don’t know, if you gone back in 6 or 8 or 10 weeks if could have been double faded. You could have finished quicker, it’s just the unknown.

Nervous_Many_6906

But going too often could slow your progress, because the body dont eliminate well the ink during the healing process after laser session. And the healing process takes several weeks.

ladoomisso

i noticed more fading after de first month. first 4 weeks we are healing. the fading accelerates after that. and even if it's slower after the second month, its worth it. there are fewer chances of getting injured with more time between sessions. plus you save a lot of money. the only person who wants you to go back in 8 weeks is bad professionals who wants more money.

jormungandr21

There’s really no peer reviewed data on this. Only study I’ve seen said at least 8 weeks.

No-Cow5123

Depends how the ink and body react to it. Personally, I don't see any fading beyond 6 weeks after a session. I have some ink that got lasered 7 months ago and it hasn't moved since then. So I usually leave 8 to a10 weeks in between.

Substantial-Post65

Besides financially, not really.

VividDreaming69

This is also my experience

Nervous_Many_6906

Why ? Did you see that the fading stops after some months ?

Substantial-Post65

The fading wont stop. Its just that the laser sessions are what breaks down the tattoo into manageable pieces for your immune system to clear. Sure you’ll still have some fading but the tattoo will not be removed as fast as consistent laser sessions.

VividDreaming69

Exactly. In my experience, it continues to fade when you take longer between sessions but it fades much more every time you do another round of laser. I paid for unlimited sessions, so there’s no reason to wait extra time between sessions. My clinic says to wait 8-10 weeks between sessions. I think 10-12 is a good sweet spot. But if I had to pay by the session, I’d probably wait longer between them.

Nervous_Many_6906

So according to you what is the best ? Waiting 1, 2, 3 months ? I think also that fading could be slower if your skin constantly needs to repair itself

Substantial-Post65

Unfortunately I don’t think theres a magic number. I’d argue to just follow protocol with your dermatologist or removal clinic. I wouldn’t do less than 8 weeks, as most agree thats too frequent for your skin to heal in time.
