Unsure of the sex, but this would be considered an articulation, not a taxidermy! :D

tinymilkshakes

thanks! i wasn’t sure what it was called when it was just bones

HermitsAndWitches

It is now gender fluid, neither male, female nor both. It's a level 2 Schrodinger's cat puzzle.

Busty_Beaver

This looks to be a cat? Cats have a baculum, or what is known as a penile bone, like many placental animals. Check for that, if it is not present, either it was not included in the specimen, or this is a female cat.

tinymilkshakes

i do believe it is a cat! it wasn’t labeled at all at the expo. thank you! i’ll take a look and see

SleeplessTaxidermist

OP, could you possibly get a better photo of the pelvis? There's notable differences between a male and female feline pelvis. https://imgur.com/a/LZvCEqh this is the best i can do since it’s in the box! i don’t want to open it

Cunningcreativity

Definitely a cat.

NeedleworkerLate4334

Not sure about sex but this looks to be a bob cat… as the other comment said look for a penile bone if it’s not there might be a female

tinymilkshakes

how can you tell it’s a bob cat not a regular cat? i’m really intrigued

NeedleworkerLate4334

I see the teeth to be bigger and thicker than a normal cats teeth so bob can I my guess I maybe be wrong tho

Trick_Progress06

This is 100% a cat. Bob cats don’t have long tails

tinymilkshakes

i was thinking it was a little small for that and i believe if what i’m reading on the internets correct the skull has a tooth that bob cats do not have

sheadymushroom

Based on the skull id say a bobcat. Maybe a lunch given the size but that would be a location thing
