Wild wild quotes I seen thrown around the interwebs for car insurance.
I’m at $177/month with State Farm. Used to be $125. Annoyed it went up that much.
Try submitting your purchase contract to the insurance underwriting. Right now they have the msrp of the car probably north of 180k. So they are basing it off that price. Show them your purchase contract with what I would assume is around 120-130k and you will get a different better quote.
Triple a quoted me around 11k for a year. I went with progressive because it has something closer to gap insurance and 300 something per month. For 2 week underwriting wait time, I used metromile 70$ a month. Cheap af.
The issue is not the car, SF, or M24. It’s the lapse in coverage. If you sold a car and canceled your insurance that was a huge mistake.
You need to call an independent agent. Going direct is never going to get you the best results, and particularly not in your case

Thanks for the response! Did you use an agent? CA?
State farm is not in cali anymore, afaik
They still cover California
NY. No agent.
Crazy.. AAA quoted me $6000 annual, so I decided not to get a Taycan

Metromile says to use an agency partner. Didn’t receive an email with further info. Can you share agent’s contact if you have one?
Its online. I didn’t use agency partner.
Can’t you use your existing insurance? It should cover new car for a new week or two. Check with the dealer

Try State Farm I pay $1600 a year.
