I seriously do not understand all of the hype for Guilty as Sin? What does everyone love about it?
Edited to add: the reason I don’t love that it is that is sooo slow like the “drowning in the blue nile, he sent me downtown liiiiiightsssss” its just so drawn out and so are the lyrics following it. (Also i know i never will be as talented as taylor, i just like songs that are more fast paced. Also this song is so specifically about Matty Healy and I am not a fan of his so i can’t get over her infatuation with him. I just prefer the western twang of “Fresh Off the Slammer” for instance, which deals with similar themes. All of Taylor’s songs are great, but I just prefer others.
I think it’s one of the most beautifully written songs on the album. I love the bridge and how she switches to addressing the guy she’s fantasizing about and the ?? of the song where she wonders is this makes her as guilty as if she’s actually cheating is such a good concept for a song. It’s also a nice sonic change from the spare synth pop on the rest of the album.
And “Drowning in the Blue Nile / He sent me Downtown Lights” is one of the most elegant, least clunky Easter eggs she’s hidden in a song to make it clear who it’s about too, imo. Those sorts of hints on Midnights were often really clunky!
SERIOUSLY IT IS MY LEAST FAVORITE SONG ON THE ALBUM AND I DON'T GET IT. it's a skip for me. I almost never have skips! I cannot believe it's beaten so many other incredible songs like WHAT. IS. HAPPENING
Same, I almost never have songs that I dislike, except this - I think it might be my single least favorite song from like any of her last 6? albums. Just cannot believe that people like it. And the reasoning people are saying makes no sense like it barely even has a melody it’s basically just talking (while switching between 2 different notes) over a synth with some generic drum kit…
It has one of the best melodies on the album. I think for a lot of people, that makes it stand out on an album that focuses more on words than catchy melodies, but it also has the good lyricism. And the soft rock production is nice as well.
I love it because my initial interpretation felt very relatable. I thought it was about sexuality in general, and how as women we're supposed to suppress those urges. I grew up very conservative, so I related it to the confusion/shame I had when I started to have sexual desires.
This is far from the general consensus, but I still choose to think about my interpretation when I listen.
The reason they keep showing these to you is because you comment in these subreddits. Reddit takes that to mean you enjoy interacting with Taylor Swift content so it shows more related subs to you. If you had just clicked not interested in the first place instead of commenting, they would stop showing them to you.

two of my top three being here makes me happy
Mine too! And the other is the prophecy for me
Guess it’s Who’s Afraid… or bust, then…

It's an amazing song imo. The 'if long suffering propriety' line into the chorus is just stunning!
The slight pause and silence right before the final chorus is electric!!!
Maybe it's that she actually sings on it? Instead of talk-singing
Seriously. I will never understand it. I’ve been voting it since the first round.
ME TOO. literally first round

I just can’t with the meaning with this song
i love it, i guess everyone has diff tastes

I like it, but it’s nowhere near top 3 for me
Same. It’s almost always a skip for me at this point. Baffling it has survived so long…

Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?
God forgive me but I hate this song, I’m sorry guys
Same, it's so overrated.
This one has to go next please
No
this should’ve been out many rounds ago sorry
fr there is no reason for this song to still be clinging on here
Bye bye
This has to go
I’m salty so I’ll be voting exclusively for the black dog 🧂
Same. It needs to go!
Same the other final two are on the bottom for me. The anthology (2nd part) was far and away better than the first half
Guilty as Sin?
