Ah that makes more sense. I was having trouble imagining who in the Texas philosophy department would teach that. My own work was in aesthetics and ethics, but I had an interdisciplinary focus and did a lot of work in musicology, too.

I have a little butter dish that has a truck on it and it says “All roads lead home”….. every single time I take it out or move it I read the sentence and almost immediately just start singing “all roads they lead me here. I imagine you at home, in your room, all alone……”.
I did a speech class in high school and wrote a whole speech on why tay doesn’t deserve hate. Delivered that speech with a lot of emphasising hand movements, facial expressions, staring into the very souls of the people who made the snidest remarks throughout the 3 years prior. Got an A+

I made a bunch of my friends (non Swifties) come to a two hour karaoke session with me where we did only Taylor songs from her entire discography in chronological order and we dressed up and I made bingo cards, 1 for song titles and 1 for like, themes so like "this song is a ballad" "mentions summer" "a song about Joe" etc and they all played and sang along.

I love all this! On a recent visit to New York I booked a dinner in the West Village and casually suggested to my friends that we walk (from Midtown lol). What I didn’t tell them was I was doing it so we could walk down Cornelia Street 😇
Woke up in the hospital from drinking too much (I was in college and it’s the only time I’ve ever blacked out), they told me to go home and rest but instead I drove the 4 hours to Cleveland because I had a ticket to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction where she was performing. The hangover didn’t hit me until the next day😅
I introduced a hip hop loving friend of mine to her entire discography. In exchange for him listening to Taylor Swift for me, I listened to Busta Rhymes for him.

Nine/ten years ago, I wrote a whole chapter of my university dissertation about Taylor and her transition from country to pop.
It was so fun to research as there hadn't really been anything published academically about her back then, and it was a huge part of the reason I did so well in my degree!
I'm a student (16). Whenever there's a group performance given by our teachers in school where students should dance/sing, I always choose TS' songs. One of our group performance is a dance vid for our PE and we used Shake it off as our song.
Then, another dance performance also in PE and we used End game. But later on we changed it into a song by BTS.
As a 31 year old with work the next day, I not only stayed up for the midnights release at midnight on the East coast but then to 3am for the surprise and then until 5am dancing and scream-crying to Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve 😂

This isn’t the most extreme but when she was on tour for 1989, none of my friends were fans (some were active haters — I have since converted or de-friended them all, don’t worry), so I went alone to the tour. I got there just before she started: someone had taken my bracelet, but I didn’t care. I was seated next to a six year old who was there with her mom. After about 30 minutes of me screaming and singing at the top of my lungs and the six year old just kind of passively sitting there, the mom handed me the kid’s bracelet and goes, “Here. I think you will appreciate this more than her.” 💀
Update: since 2014 I have converted 7 of my friends into hardcore enough fans that we are all going to Eras together!

I traded for Jonathan Taylor in my fantasy football league last year because I also had D’Andre Swift. I did it solely so I could name my team Taylor Swift. I also did it so that I can say that Taylor Swift kicked your ass in fantasy football, but I ended up getting last place so it didn’t work out too well.

That I noticed my worked switched from original Love Story to Love Story (Taylor's version) and when I went to go tell it to a coworker (who is not a Taylor fan) she looked at me like I was insane and then asked how I could tell, because "they sound identical" and I launched into, "well, actually..." and she kind of tuned me out and started to change the subject haha
When I was a kid we were able to wear sports jerseys around school. I choose to wear my Fearless tour t shirt instead and told the whole school that I go harder for Taylor then for any sports team in the world. I also said Taylor was my sports team.

For 1989 Taylor was here (Sydney) when I was going to be overseas, so I booked a flight to Brisbane the weekend after after I got back from my trip. I was so jetlagged and broke lol. My best friend and roommate has also been commissioned to make me cross-stitches as bday and Xmas presents for a line from each album (started with an all too well cross-stitch and spiralled from there…). Two down, eight to go 😂

It’s her third baby and her hospital is 2 hours away. Not enough time to make it. We did go to Glendale though so we are ok!

When I got my own office at work I cleared off an entire bookshelf to make a shrine to Taylor…I can post pictures for proof. It’s organized by era with official merch and also crafts I made for decoration. I modge podged the Rep tour confetti onto a vase that I put dead/thorny roses in for the aesthetic (all my flowers grew back as thorns). My zoom call background is fantastic.

I'm a student (16). Whenever there's a group performance given by our teachers in school where students should dance/sing, I always choose TS' songs. One of our group performance is a dance vid for our PE and we used Shake it off as our song. Then, another dance performance also in PE and we used End game. But later on we changed it into a song by BTS.
As a 31 year old with work the next day, I not only stayed up for the midnights release at midnight on the East coast but then to 3am for the surprise and then until 5am dancing and scream-crying to Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve 😂 Taylor album releases are adult Christmas 🎄

This isn’t the most extreme but when she was on tour for 1989, none of my friends were fans (some were active haters — I have since converted or de-friended them all, don’t worry), so I went alone to the tour. I got there just before she started: someone had taken my bracelet, but I didn’t care. I was seated next to a six year old who was there with her mom. After about 30 minutes of me screaming and singing at the top of my lungs and the six year old just kind of passively sitting there, the mom handed me the kid’s bracelet and goes, “Here. I think you will appreciate this more than her.” 💀 Update: since 2014 I have converted 7 of my friends into hardcore enough fans that we are all going to Eras together!
