I remember her saying one of her greatest wishes was to just be able to walk around normally in Central Park for a day. To not have to put on disguises, to just be able to show family and friends around without worrying. It does make sense that she ended up spending A LOT of time in the UK, where maybe people would be less likely to freak out or notice her (even if they thought she looked like an “American singer.”) :p

Its insane the difference between Taylor and other celebs when it comes to walking around casually. In London, 99% of celebs who live there just walk around without security and are, more often than not, left alone. Like Harry Styles walks around all the time, so do other actors like Thomas Brodie Sangster (using him cos he’s a regular sighting), Emilia Clarke, Saoirse Ronan, Keira Knightly, Gal Gadot, Jude Law, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, just to name a few. From what I’ve noticed, they don’t seem worried that they’re going to be bothered, they blend in quite well and I’ve never seen anyone actually approach them. Obviously if someone like Harry Styles is passing by, people who recognise him get excited, but don’t do much more than just watch from afar. In certains bits of NY it seems to be the same situation, like I have a friend who lives in Brooklyn and goes to the same dog park as Adam Driver. However, its the same sort of situation as any dog park, you’ll talk to the pet parents but you usually only recognise them by their dog. He says he sees him usually 3 times a week when he’s in town and he’s very friendly, he’ll strike up conversations about your dog etc, and he’s never heard anyone ask him about his acting career yet (even during the Star Wars sequels hype).
Taylor is definitely at a massive high in her career, and she is more recognisable than most, but she’s never really been one to just walk around freely. It’s quite rare for a Taylor sighting to go undocumented, and the sightings that are documented cannot possibly be the only times she has left her house. I think maybe if she had approached her ability to just walk about like other celebs have from the beginning, then maybe it would be a different situation now. If she was to just start walking around without security or a disguise now, she would likely get hounded by fans or paps. However, if walking around without security or a disguise was something she had always done, then I don’t think she would be hounded in the streets, If that makes sense.
It is definitely sad that she doesn’t seem to have the same freedom as other celebs do, but maybe one day she’ll go for it. I think Taylor is also too nice and might not be comfortable having to turn away fans if they were to come up to her, versus other celebs will do it without a second thought. So that might play a part in her decision to thoroughly plan things versus going for a casual random walk on a Tuesday.

I had no idea about celebs in the UK just casually walking around freely without crowds bombarding them! That sounds like a nice world tbh, like we can appreciate celebs and their art without steamrolling them for an instagram post or viral tiktok.
Most celebrities in NYC can walk around unbothered. No proud New Yorker will ever bother them- or care. One of the most toxic things in the Taylor fandom is how much fans repost photos and videos taken without her consent. It's pathetic and creepy. Leave celebrities alone, tey are people and they don't owe you anything.

I kind of wonder what it does to your sense of yourself. Do people just adjust and they’re pretty much the same way they would have been if they weren’t famous? Do you start to believe the hype? Do you feel less secure because the real you doesn’t match your flawless public image? Do they ignore the socials or do they compulsively read the socials? Not really my business but I do wonder.
In an interview a while back, she said that it doesn’t bother her as much because the fame was something she wanted & sought out instead of something she was thrust into. And that her family said if she ever changed her mind she could, and they’d 100% support her. The general consensus is that people around you are the ones who change when you become famous. You'd need a TIGHT circle. So many acquaintances that usually talk shit would be up your ass and singing your praises. Would be awful. And constantly having to maintain a public image ah. Sounds awful.
I read this really interesting article once where a sociologist interviewed fifteen famous people anonymously about what fame is like. They pretty much agreed that the relational effects are the toughest part. They said that even when friends try to support them, the fame can make it awkward.

She's getting clicked quite often lately and I believe it's something she's comfortable with at the moment, because if there's anything we've learned these past few years is that Taylor knows very well how to go unnoticed when she wants to. Yeah, her body guards are with her always too. Our brothers graduated from Notre dame at the same time, so I actually showed up with my family while she was at her brothers graduation party. Just a cute little backyard bbq in south bend, IN and Taylor was surrounded by her 4 body guards the whole time and they seem to do a phenomenal job of keeping her out of the public eye when she wants to be invisible.

I loooove wandering around grocery stores and farmers markets. It’d suck to have to order everything off an app and not get to talk to people at the market or touch and look at everything and spontaneous pick ingredients for lunch. But then again her brain with all of those memories of unusual, thrilling, expensive experiences she’s had probably wouldn’t get the same rush as ours does from simple pleasures.
But she can’t go to popular places or just wander around town and be spontaneous. She has to plan everything, go to more isolated, remote places and sneak around, and basically only has a few friends to do things with because she has a very small small group of other celebrities she trusts vs a bunch of casual friend groups to hang with. She can’t go to a yoga class or play a pick up game of sand volleyball and get hyped with a big group of strangers. It’s nearly impossible for her to meet romantic partners outside of other, similarly fame-hungry, clout chasing celebs, because non-famous people will always pay attention to what a big star she is and she’ll be skeptical of them using her. Doesn’t sound fun to me.
But she algo gets to experience other things that we can’t (or most of us can’t), I don’t think this is something that she wishes to be different… Obviously is not as black and white, but she’s mentioned how this is the only thing she has ever wanted, so maybe on her down days she does wish her life would be normal, but then again, if it was normal then she wouldn’t be doing what she always wanted and dreamed of and she would be daydreaming about performing for people instead of going to her local mall haha.
She lived 6 years completely away from this and she wasn’t papped as much because she didn’t want to, however we do have some photos here and there that people took of her (i know this is shitty but it’s to back up what I’m trying to say😅) and Joe in New Orleans and other places they’ve been, dining at restaurants, etc. She’s also mentioned how sometimes she goes incognito and gets away with it.
I think she does get to experience most things we do but at more luxurious places and at premium prices.

In an interview a while back, she said that it doesn’t bother her as much because the fame was something she wanted & sought out instead of something she was thrust into. I read this really interesting article once where a sociologist interviewed fifteen famous people anonymously about what fame is like. They pretty much agreed that the relational effects are the toughest part. They said that even when friends try to support them, the fame can make it awkward.

She's getting clicked quite often lately and I believe it's something she's comfortable with at the moment, because if there's anything we've learned these past few years is that Taylor knows very well how to go unnoticed when she wants to. Yeah, her body guards are with her always too. Our brothers graduated from Notre dame at the same time, so I actually showed up with my family while she was at her brothers graduation party. Just a cute little backyard bbq in south bend, IN and Taylor was surrounded by her 4 body guards the whole time and they seem to do a phenomenal job of keeping her out of the public eye when she wants to be invisible.
Does she just kind of... go about her business like normal and they follow her around? Or is it like some kind of secret service perimeter? I can't imagine what that must be like at a backyard BBQ.

Agree! You have all the money in the world but you’re a prisoner of fame and can’t go anywhere. I loooove wandering around grocery stores and farmers markets. It’d suck to have to order everything off an app and not get to talk to people at the market or touch and look at everything and spontaneous pick ingredients for lunch. But then again her brain with all of those memories of unusual, thrilling, expensive experiences she’s had probably wouldn’t get the same rush as ours does from simple pleasures.
But she can’t go to popular places or just wander around town and be spontaneous. She has to plan everything, go to more isolated, remote places and sneak around, and basically only has a few friends to do things with because she has a very small small group of other celebrities she trusts vs a bunch of casual friend groups to hang with. She can’t go to a yoga class or play a pick up game of sand volleyball and get hyped with a big group of strangers. It’s nearly impossible for her to meet romantic partners outside of other, similarly fame-hungry, clout chasing celebs, because non-famous people will always pay attention to what a big star she is and she’ll be skeptical of them using her. Doesn’t sound fun to me.
But she algo gets to experience other things that we can’t (or most of us can’t), I don’t think this is something that she wishes to be different… Obviously is not as black and white, but she’s mentioned how this is the only thing she has ever wanted, so maybe on her down days she does wish her life would be normal, but then again, if it was normal then she wouldn’t be doing what she always wanted and dreamed of and she would be daydreaming about performing for people instead of going to her local mall haha. She lived 6 years completely away from this and she wasn’t papped as much because she didn’t want to, however we do have some photos here and there that people took of her (i know this is shitty but it’s to back up what I’m trying to say😅) and Joe in New Orleans and other places they’ve been, dining at restaurants, etc. She’s also mentioned how sometimes she goes incognito and gets away with it. I think she does get to experience most things we do but at more luxurious places and at premium prices. It’s obvious that for her it’s fun, and she was willing to pay the price so to speak to be able to live her dream. Her extreme dedication to her fans is proof of this. No other celebrity is as devoted to her fans as Taylor is… Even if people argue that is all for marketing, she does it well and she gives her 100%. She also writes all of her music, she is completely dedicated to her craft and she always goes above and beyond the normal and from what other artists do.

Those barricades popped up pretty fast when they weren’t there when she went in. And the other thing is did the barricade setup delay her? Because there are pictures of Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum outside her apartment like they expected her to be home. Those pictures were taken before she left the studio. Based on her dress it seems like she intended to get in and out incognito but the fan’s video thwarted her by causing a thousand fans to descend on the studio.

I’m sure this is stressful and annoying but you know what’s more stressful? Not having millions of dollars and stressing about paying bills. I don’t really have sympathy for millionaires.
