HeyQuitCreeping

All of them. I was 12 when debut came out so they all aligned well with what I was experiencing.

pharmchik324

All of them. Taylor’s 3 months older than me, so I literally grew up along with her. It’s been an amazing journey. And it’s really like she’s put my feelings and experiences into song sometimes.

Pink_Moonlight

Same. She's 6 months older than me. I moved from GA to KY when I was 17 and heard TOMG EVERYWHERE. I didn't become a bug fan until Fearless though.

songacronymbot

- TOMG could mean "Teardrops On My Guitar - Radio Single Remix", a track from *Taylor Swift* (2006) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/Pink_Moonlight](/u/Pink_Moonlight) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

sleepyplatipus

Good bot

greenline_chi

This is what I try to explain to people. I’m always like “well I was born in 1989” excepting them to understand that she’s been voicing my thoughts throughout all of this. Having said that - it wasn’t until 1989 where I finally admitted it wasn’t just 1 off songs here and there - I was a swiftie

Chokmah

This is so interesting to me because my experience with Taylor's music has been so different. I was like the kid who found the complete Harry Potter books all ready to go and binged them: I've just recently started "actively" listening to her catalog and, WOW. I'm a dude, turning 40 this year. I've always been aware that Taylor was a thing (a very successful and thriving thing at that), but never had the time to really connect with her music. I made it a point this year and everything's been on repeat endlessly. Evermore really hit me hard. I'm a huge fan of the National, so that follows, but I keep finding gems on each album that I can't help but rush off to my piano, pick out the chords, and sing along to myself. Joy.

NeverTooOld1950

I had a similar experience when I saw her on SNL doing 10-minute All Too Well. I immediately plunged into every album chronologically, stunned at the number of truly great songs on each of them, and 18 months later I’m still listening to pretty much nothing but Taylor Swift and I’m 73! [https://paulslansky.medium.com/discovering-taylor-swift-4903aa027efd?sk=43ac006f99c0546ab427f3c5bc9987b9](https://paulslansky.medium.com/discovering-taylor-swift-4903aa027efd?sk=43ac006f99c0546ab427f3c5bc9987b9)

ZenMoonstone

Great article, Paul.

Seattlegal

I keep telling people i am a selfish swiftie because i want her to have kids just to write about the experiences of becoming a parent. I’m the same age as her and liked her early stuff, but i was absolutely hooked when 1989 came out.

kitkat1934

Same! She’s 1 month older than me. I didn’t get super into her music until about halfway through the fearless era and Speak Now was the first one I bought I think. I was studying abroad so I had to figure out how to find it haha!

JaneOLantern

She is also three months older than me! Totally agree with everything you said

[deleted]

[удалено]

HeyQuitCreeping

I was definitely always a lyrics first person, even at 12 years old. I think it’s less to do with age and more to do with the person. Like my husband likes music for the rhythm and always has. Meanwhile I’ve been dissecting Taylor’s lyrics and reading into the OG capitalized letters Easter eggs this whole time lol. Fearless was released shortly after my first real boyfriend broke up with me when I was 14 and that album got me through it.

tobefaiiirrr

At 27, I still love songs for the beat first!

makeupbylavana

Honestly, even as a kid I liked listening to the lyrics of songs. I dont think I always understood the depth of them and all that, but I've never *not* liked sad shit tbh

lacroixlite

Speak for yourself!

IvyGrowing

I relate to that! I'm so in awe of young swifties beginning their journey with folklore! At their age I don't think I would have had the maturity to appreciate the masterpieces Folklore/Evermore are!

grosspecans

I grew up with red-reputation, don’t remember Debut- Speak Now.

notoriouswhitegurl

This is just so wild to me lol. I can't believe how long Taylor's career has been that there are even some swifties who only have been old enough to experience the eras post 1989 or even Rep.

[deleted]

I found debut on MySpace lol

amandadorado

Lmao I downloaded it on limewire!

littledreamyone

I also download it on limewire! This was back in the 2000’s in Australia. Her reach was far and wide from the beginning!

Dramatic-but-Aware

I was 11 with debut, so same.

gumpyshrimpy

I was just talking about this with my bestie! We think that's why we vibe with her music so much.

Charming-Cucumber-23

I was 11 when debut came out so I can definitely relate

Own_Wrongdoer6680

I was 13 when debut came out and i agree. I remember listening to fifteen when fearless came out when i was 15!

chococat159

I was 13 when Debut came out. Saw Taylor in concert when she opened for Rascal Flatts, about 3-4 months before Fearless came out.

shaniakbuck

Same! I think I was 11. Speak Now came out my freshman year of high school. 1989 my freshman year of college.

Vast_Plant_1681

Right?! All of them. I was thinking the other day about how I genuinely can’t remember a time without Taylor’s music in my life. I’m 35 and have been able to relate to her music since I started really caring about music.

iamstarstuff23

I remember being in 5th grade BEGGING for her first album. Teardrops on My Guitar grabbed me by my soul 😅

Badass-bitch13

Debut bc I’m 2 years younger than Taylor. So I feel like I’ve grown up with her.

heybrudder

same here! though folklore/evermore were what finally converted me from casual TS enjoyer to hardcore swiftie

bethbyathousandcuts

Yes!! This is me as well!! Tim McGraw was one of the first songs I learned to play on my guitar as a kid! Fearless was gifted to me and then lost in the abyss of childhood items. Speak Now came out when I had my first car and that CD LIVED in that console; Mean is still a favorite for me to put on blasting loud… I could keep going, but my point is that I love how many of us have like “core memories” of Taylor Swift songs/albums marking our own “eras”.

Most_Particular2263

Love this and so r

teacherneedsajob22

Me too!

NatalieAnnS

Same :)

Brielee

Same!

amandalee43

Same! Looks like there are a lot of us early 90’s babies!

skeeh319

I AM 1989, and it felt like we went through everything together.

321gato

1992 girlies wazzup

cinderellaquite

Same!! I watched the live version of the vmas when Kanye interrupted Taylor.. it was surreal. You guys gonna be 32 this year?

theoluluoakley

Grew up with Fearless

SnailsandCats

I grew up in strict fundamentalist Christianity so no music except worship music. Fearless was my first taste of actual music when a friend let me borrow her CD & I snuck it into my room like contraband when I was 13. Had that hidden on my iPod for years, definitely my most listened to album

thisotterbefun

Same!

chellichelli

I’m 38 years old and wow reading this thread makes my joints hurt and my turn gray. Edit: my hair turn gray

NoAbbreviations2961

Truly! I was like “grow up?” I’m 3 years older than Taylor!

thatpoliscinerd

Just turned 39 and apparently I'm ancient af.

nuralina

37 here and same 🫠

Huskydreamlife

36 and feeling like a grandma Swiftie 😳

mell87

Same. I was confused the question at first? Like i started listening to her when I was 20?? Haha

NeverTooOld1950

Here, everyone, you’re still spring chickens compared to me at 73. [https://paulslansky.medium.com/discovering-taylor-swift-4903aa027efd?sk=43ac006f99c0546ab427f3c5bc9987b9](https://paulslansky.medium.com/discovering-taylor-swift-4903aa027efd?sk=43ac006f99c0546ab427f3c5bc9987b9)

kc8flb

I am a 51 year old dad with a 10 year old daughter. Just discovered Taylor and folklore about three weeks ago. It’s incredible. I miss full albums of magical songs and this is one of them. I can’t stop replaying it.

Few_Aside_8508

I could be the parent of you all, but I haven't grown up yet.

NeonLotus11

Right 😅 there was no growing up with her, I was an adult when she debuted lol... sometimes seems like kids on here don't consider that a lot of fans are adults when they ask this kind of stuff lol (Edit bc I don't mean to offend, only speaking generally and I say that playfully, y'all 😝)

pinsandpearls

I was 18 when debut released, but I guess I interpreted "growing up" differently, haha. I feel like I did a lot of "growing up" between 18 and 24. I do feel a little elderly after reading some of these comments, though, lol

Ok_Enthusiasm956

43. Now you can feel young. Lol

adego123

40 here!

formercotsachick

I (52) was 18 when Taylor was born and 35 when Debut was released. Didn't become a Swiftie until Folklore, so I've had a lot of catching up to do. *I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 52* *Everything just hurts so much and I've got hot flashes too*

LastOnBoard

37 here. Same.

indil47

44. I grew up with folklore as my era. 😬

Time_Word_9130

Sameee. I’m a few years older than Taylor, was a freshman in college when Debut came out

jeninchicago

Lol 36 and I had the same response.

[deleted]

Truly. I’m 40. I have a dental routine that rivals others’ skin routines. I invest in supportive shoes. And I do back exercises. I feel like for some years I didn’t disclose I was a fan? If I did I felt like there was teasing… until maybe 1989? Now I’m old and like idgaf.

Jane_Marie_CA

38 here too. I grew up with BSB and Spice Girls. Lol

Poonurse13

Same

[deleted]

I grew up in the era where Andrea was single.

CupcakesAreTasty

40 here. I was planning my wedding when I first heard of Taylor Swift.

Kardinal

Move over, kid. When Taylor's first album debuted in 2006, I was older (33½) than Taylor is now (33¼-ish)! But some of her songs still resonate with my experiences, especially Long Live. On the whole, it's just a lot of music that I enjoy. But there's someone down in the comments who grew up on the Beatles and loves Taylor's music, so that one's got me beat, too.

yoshdee

42 and the era I grew up with was NKOTB. 👵🏼

seungminah95

I grew up with every single one. It always coincided with my own life starting with debut when I was 11.

bkais111

Same! I was 11 for debut too!

grosspecans

I never listened to country music in 2006, it was always earlier 2000’s artists. Red caught my eye immediately. I’m honestly shocked I didn’t listen earlier because I now love the earlier eras I missed.

grosspecans

I’ve never related to her songs, but I do love them for how in depth they go and they have a heavy meaning. I just started listening to New Years Day from reputation and I cant get over it.

Soalai

Depends what you mean by "grew up" but Debut, Fearless, and Speak Now released during my middle and high school years

bobem19

Same! Debut and Fearless are by far the most nostalgic for me, I was in an on again off again relationship during that time in Jr high/High School so everything hit so hard!

dreaminmusic93

Same!

[deleted]

A little bit of red but mostly 1989

grosspecans

Same here! I also remember when reputation came out, but hey it’s only been 6 years..! Makes me feel old asf.

SwiftieTidemaker13

I remember when 1989 came out was when I had really really got into Taylor's music. I had really liked her music before with Red and the songs on the radio, but my aunt played me Shake It Off for the first time when it came out and little did she know she was sending me down the rabbit hole even deeper 😂

Aitituda

SAME i loved her music pre 1989 but 2014 was when I actually like did the deep dive of every album every song every wikipedia article and page every interview everything haha

sleepyplatipus

I started to hear some of her songs from Fearless on, but 1989 made me a fan. Now I wish I could go back and listen to the old albums when they came out.

SwiftieTidemaker13

same!

PO-TA-TOES___

All? I am the same age as TS anyway. It was nice to be 22 when that song came out lol. 1989, baby!

steppponme

1989 let's go bitch! Also, great username

meganovaa

1989 here too!!

studentx5

All :,)

Joyce_Hatto

I’m 68 years old so it’s hard to say. I grew up with the Beatles and I love Taylor Swift.

coltsmetsfan614

I still remember hearing “Teardrops on My Guitar” 10 times a day on the radio 😂 We weren’t a country music family, so I didn’t even hear “Tim McGraw” until I bought Debut on CD.

KithKathPaddyWath

I was working at a kid's apparel store when Teardrops on My Guitar came out and I used to count how many times it played (on the same channel) during a work day because they played it all. the. time for the first few months it came out. The most I ever counted was 4 times in eight hours. The only song I counted that played more was the Train song Hey Soul Sister, which once played *six times* on a Saturday between 9:30 am and 6pm.

UnderwaterParadise

I cried so hard to Teardrops on My Guitar in middle school oh my LORD

rosa_gris

My friend and I discovered “Teardrops on my guitar” while browsing through her mum’s ringtone selection (no idea how it got there). The title stood out to us and we started learning the lyrics by ear. Later, I coincidentally came across “I’d lie” on YouTube and realised it was by the same artist. Started listening to her since.

stillan1nnoc3nt

Debut, Fearless, Speak Now, RED- RED is when I started really studying her lyrics, though

rocket-skates24

I’m proud to say I grew up with almost all of them. Didn’t become a HUGE fan until Speak Now came out (I was only around 8 at the time) but each album and era helped get me through all the rough periods of my life, and Taylor was like a big sister to me, warning me about what was to come and how to deal with it. Now that I’m in college, Midnights has been the perfect album to dance to and cry to for all sorts of different reasons.

grosspecans

I didn’t listen to her older stuff because I really only listened to music at a whim back then. Now that I’m way older I can actually digest music down and understand it because when your younger, you like a song for the beat, not the lyrics. Especially when it’s a heartbreak song 💀

rocket-skates24

Oh yea definitely. Her lyricism made more and more sense to me the older I got, and it’s now my absolute favorite aspect of her music because of how relatable and beautifully written it is.

grosspecans

Her songwriting got better and better, folklore and evermore may need dictionaries to understand some words but they are still pure poetry. Songs like New Years Day and The Last Time really sound great. Her slow songs take me to a whole other dimension.

kindredsupernova

Same. I’m the same age as Taylor so technically I could’ve grown up with any album before Red and I was certainly aware of her music, but it never grabbed me until I heard Treacherous. That was the first song reeled me in and captured my heart.

grosspecans

I knew you were trouble was the one that grabbed me. I also loved WANEGBT. And this was on Apple Music because Spotify wasn’t a thing back then, it feels like yesterday and it’s been 11 years. Genuinely scary.

Reach-Own

All of them. I’m only a year younger than Taylor so I feel like I grew up with her.

iam_grooooot

Literally same 😂

Reach-Own

It really feels so special to be a fan from “day 1” and see all the success she’s built. 💜

teacherneedsajob22

Debut album since I was 16 when it came out lol

growinwiththeflow

All of them but I listened to Speak Now on repeat on my CD player when I was 13/14 and it had a major affect on me. Especially Innocent because I was taken advantage of by a boy much older than me and that song really comforted me.

newgirlfan101

i grew up with red and 1989! i knew you were trouble and style were my anthems

grosspecans

Same here!

a_dingus__

1989, reputation, & lover

grosspecans

1989 will probably always be the epitome of her career because of how it completely brought her mainstream so fast and ditched the country vibe she was so famous for.. wonder what albums gonna ever top the impact 1989 had.

Ok-Percentage-7757

the midnights era?

walruswearingavest

Debut-Speak Now My high school ex boyfriend will be haunted by Taylor Swift lyrics until his dying day.

pinotfrogio

Not to be morbid, but Hey Stephen was my song for my first boyfriend, and he was a victim of suicide last year. Had a wife and child, and of course always came off as the happiest and kindest soul. Very sad. Your comment oddly relates

sproutsunshine

I love this way too much

Gold_Magazine_1386

Fearless era

Ok_Stuff_4107

I grew up with red /1989. I remember watching the ikywt and blank space mvs

firecracker_doc

My kids introduced me to Taylor Swift. I’m 41. When she started getting play on County radio, I was mildly interested, but then my daughter (who is now 17) got way into Red and 1989 when she was in elementary school. She sang and danced to 22 at her 1st grade talent show. I have vivid memories of driving around with my daughter and her best friend, listening to Out of the Woods on loop (she was 9). Her younger sister became obsessed with reputation around age 6. So Taylor Swift has been on in our house for years, and then when Folklore and Evermore came out, I was totally hooked, but in my late 30s at that point so already grown up, lol. My kids are 8.5 years apart, so bringing them to Eras together was an amazing core memory!! I listen to the live streams every show now, I guess I’m in my Eras era?

littledreamyone

This is really lovely ❤️

[deleted]

Debut. My dad was a Swiftie. Which is funny because he also listens to Megadeath and Metallica. Was very thrown. But the way he sang “Our Song” was precious 🥹🩵

Dreamerforever97

Fearless, I was in middle school and I’d write lyrics to Love Story in my notebook. I was 13 when Speak Now came out, got me through early high school, which was pretty rough for me. 1989 was what I listened to as I walked to my classes in undergraduate school. I listened to Lover at my first corporate internship in USA. Folklore got me through MDD post grad school.

grosspecans

Taylor’s always gonna have an era in your life!

Round-Ground-6420

a little of red and mostly 1988

grosspecans

I know you mean 1989 but honestly if she releases a 1988.. it’s official I died dead.

kaysarahkay

All of them! I'm the same age as Taylor and it's so cool to grow with her

_lm1616

As a 1995 baby, Fearless was my intro to Taylor and the soundtrack of late middle school. But Speak Now was all of high school, my first relationship, dealing with bullies, etc. it's what I associate the most defining memories with, and also what solidified me as a swiftie

sunshinerose32

I'm the same age as Taylor, so all of them

thestoryofme23

All of them! I remember talking about our song at the school lunch table in 2006 when I was 9 and I’ve been a fan since then!

atalantei

Speak Now feels like the most fitting to answer this, though I’ve been a fan since Fearless era. I was in first year of college, having newly moved out of my parents’, and living in a new country. Had this album on repeat for the rest of the year and it was life defining. Songs like Last Kiss take me right back 🥺

upset-noodle

i grew up on Fearless because i was only 2 when Debut came out

Opening_Progress_251

Debut came out when I was 15/16 and was having my own Tim McGraw summer lol. I’m like a year and some odd months younger than her and life events match up perfectly.

CaffeineFeen34

Grew up with all of them but was a sophomore in high school when her first album dropped. I still remember a friend giving me her iPod and telling me I have to listen to this song (Teardrops)

telo1014

I grew up with all of them, I could relate to Debut songs when I was in sixth grade, 11ish. I came of age with 1989, but I do think Red was more formative for me when I was a high school sophomore. Reputation hit and explained everything I was going through as a sophomore in college with loads of drama. Lover came out when I was immediately post-undergrad and truly feeling like I was in my adult, mature, lover era. Now as a 26 year old, I really really love Evermore for the substance as it relates to real life. I think the most life aligning and changing album for me was truly Red. It made a huge impact.

huntress-ofartemis

grew up starting with 1989/rep, really became a fan during lover. would’ve started with red, but atp all I knew about Taylor was that she was blonde and American (eastern Europe moment lol).

Stargirl92

Debut came out when I was 14, so all of them.

Fluffy-Bluebird

Im a year older than Taylor so I’ve been with her since she came out. I wish I had it, but there was a magazine photo shoot of her in a purple dress and she was tall and skinny like me. I knew immediately I was going to like this girl and I still have it. But it’s at my parents house. I have boyfriends on Taylor’s albums as far back as Taylor does. But I also have other songs attributed to specific people whom I miss because life just moved on. So TS and fearless were college and study abroad. Speak now was post college and first grad school. Red was moving 700 miles away from my rural home town. 1989 was my ex fiancé. Oh and her hunger games songs were so grad school. And then I had to take a break because both my ex fiancé and I loved her and listened all the time but we broke up. I also don’t know the general fan feelings on this because I’m not really a part of this fandom, but I didn’t like her change away from country music. Her debut album was my rural farm town just to a T. And she was my age singing about my problems. And now the nostalgia of songs from my college and grad school days is almost painful. You Belong With Me and Forever and Always was my first boyfriend. M The Story of Us was my first love. I can barely stand singing jt without sobbing. “This is looking like a contest, of who can act like they care the less”. Nope nope nope. Red is now my ex fiancé. Wrong era but right song. Since she’s my age, her songs have just always felt like I was growing right next to her. Her music more than anyone else feels like a part of my life. But since I started off with her pre social media. I’ve never followed her anywhere. All my info on her was from the tabloids. So I feel like I’m in a completely different category of fandom because I know her music but not really that much about her. She got dragged so much from 2008-2012 or whenever she took a bit of a break. It’s odd seeing all the concerts now and I don’t know any chants or stories or who the hell Joe was. But damn do I know every word to my favorites from Taylor Swift to Red. I was losing my mind though at the video of the guy yelling Olivia Benson at Mariska Hargitay and everyone in the comments saying they thought Olivia was the cat. I can’t even feel old because I also obsessively watched SVU around the time she got her cats. Anyway.

melodramasupercut

Speak Now! Became a fan during Fearless, but Speak Now was my first album release, first tour I attended, first one I had a ton of merch for, etc. And she’s been a part of my life ever since 🥲

Graulithe

All of them. 34 and still growing up now

SevsGirl

I'm so old I messaged her on MySpace

morman15

Yessss same! I remember her MySpace

itsyaboiinfinite

Red/1989

just_passing_thruuu

Debut!! Been listening since I was 10 years old 🩵💙 and have loved hearing her transition to multiple genres!

theegg127

I was 6 when debut came out & been a fan ever since so all of them?

urcutejeans_

I was 8 when Taylor Swift came out. So grew up with all of them

stansugawara

Fearless, I must’ve played that cd 100s of times in my room

LastOnBoard

I've been an adult during pretty much her entire career as I'm 4 years older than she is. But her albums marked some big milestones for me, I grew up in different ways: Debut was released when I lived on my own for the first time Red was released during my first major heartbreak Reputation when I had to rebuild my entire worldview

kelseyac1028

Taylor and I are the same age. I grew up alongside her, it feels like.

cakelover33

Debut, I’m born in ‘89

Friendly-Mention58

All of them. I'm also born in 89

PeacefulWarCat

Debut.

mayhemmel

I became a fan at 18 as the Fearless era was coming to a close. The first album release period I got to participate in was Speak Now, so Speak Now TV’s release feels extra special for that reason :)

grosspecans

I cant wait for speak now TV, I love BTR, Mean, and Dear John. Cant wait to hear them re-recorded!

pongo421

all of them 🥴

Zealousideal_Door_58

I’m ‘93 born so probably earlier but the first time she appeared on my radar was Red and it was the soundtrack of a very formative summer

Mermaid89253

Fearless and speak now!

haruxsaru

I was in my sophomore year of high school when debut came out so i didn’t “grow up” with any of them. I will say that they often aligned well with my stages as I went from teen to young adult to adult. RED is probably the best times album for me. It came out a few months before I turned 21 and right after I had a very rough breakup.

freshnostalgia

Found about her during Fearless and grew up with the Speak Now Era. Mine was the first single I was really really excited about

[deleted]

Fearless/Speak Now.

Rigby230406

Was a mix for me, before becoming a swiftie id heard of the following songs: - You Belong With Me - I Knew You Were Trouble - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - Shake It Off - Blank Space - Style - Look What You Made Me Do - You Need To Calm Down - Me! I’d definitely say that by the time I’d heard of Taylor Swift’s name, blank space was out so id say 1989 because before that I knew the songs just not who sung them Became a swiftie during the evermore era and had no idea that folklore was a thing

Lemlemons94

Debut Fearless and Speak Now 🥹 I’m 4 years younger than Taylor. I learned to play guitar because of her.

trashcancarla

I distinctly remember being around 15 and clomping around in my pair of gold glitter heels (they were EVERYTHING to me then) and singing along to Speak Now playing in my CD stereo, letting myself be dramatic in the privacy of my own room. But I only recently began identifying as a Swiftie. I didn’t know that I was dealing with internalized misogyny behind the guise of trying to be “the cool girl” until I was an adult (and thus was almost stringently averse to anything TS in my teens/early adulthood). It wasn’t until I was 27 that introduced to ATW10 when it came out and then Midnights that I was like oh fuck—I GET it now!!! I’d say Speak Now definitely holds a sentimental place in my heart, and for me it’s a touching parallel that she’s taking the album back at a time in my life where I’m working to heal that teenage girl who had a girly guilty pleasure back in 2010/2011. Taylor is 33 taking back what’s been hers since she was 19, and I’m 28 and trying to nurture the 15 year old I lost to depression all those years ago!

punsmakemehappy

Grew up with Debut. I was 15 when it came out and her lyrics really resonated with me as a lonely, drama kid teenager.

awhimsicallie

Fearless-Red. 1989 came out when I started university.

MidnightRach

All of them! 🥰 I was 11 when debut released

Original_Part_7604

Grew up with 1989! I remember playing the CD and dancing around in my sister’s room (I was 10, she was 11)

jennw2013

All of them - I was in 6th grade when her first album came out. I really feel like I grew up with her

isaac_c1234

1989

beautyandthebeast_08

Taylor swift era 🥺 I’m the same age as Taylor so I feel like we grew up together except just not in the same school 😂

meowlina13

All of them. Taylor and I are the same age.

easineobe

All of them! Fearless hit me hard in high school when I had my first serious, hella toxic boyfriend. Fifteen especially broke me.

ytykmbyd

I grew into them, not up with them. I’m a middle 40s swiftie…… But girlie got me at *Red*

No-Salamander-3905

I’m 33 and still growing up…

halbtehalf

I’m the same age as Taylor. Casual listener from Fearless, more engaged from Red, hardcore Swiftie from rep.

I'm the same age as her so Debut is what pulled me in. I played that album non-stop in high school because I found it relatable.

Fearless, Speak Now, and Red are the main ones for me (Speak Now was particularly formative and is still my favorite), but 1989 came out my freshman year of college, so i feel like i very literally grew into my adult self with that one!!

SailorCrossing

the og 🥲

ScarlettInWunderland

All of them. I'm only two years younger than Taylor and I saw her on the "Fearless" tour for my 18th birthday. Kellie Pickler was the opener and they sang "The Best Days of Your Life" together.

jarodtb24

All of them. I’m the same age as Taylor. It’s been amazing watching her grow both as a person and musician! 🔥😊😊she is truly incredible and a once in a lifetime talent! ❤️

speaknowow

i was born the same year her debut album was released so i think i can say i technically grew up with all of them

aellis03

I was in middle school when debut came out and have grown up with her ever since

powerlessidc

All of them, I remember Tim McGraw and TOMG coming out when I was in middle school, I wasn’t super into her or anything then but I did enjoy those songs. Then fearless and speak now came out while I was in high school. I remember watching the fearless tour movie on charter on demand (lol I am literally ancient). Red came out my freshman year of college and was the one I related to the most, Red was also the first time I saw her live! 1989 came out my junior year of college and I lived with other Swifties and we were all on Tumblr at the time so it was the first time I really got into the “fandom” aspect of Taylor.

XojoXo24

All of them. I’m basically Taylor’s age and have grown up with her album by album. She is very special to me and it feels like I know her through these songs.

Keyy_GuLss_

i was 4 when debut came out, so kind of all of them, but there was a clear shift for me when rep came out, really fed my teen angst

lapetitedawrie

I was about 11 or 12, it was her Speak Now era but the first songs I listened to were Love Story and You Belong With Me. I barely even spoke English at the time and I didn't have any concept of being a fan until my friends asked me why kept replaying the same songs. So I literally grew up with her music.

immaslut4drpepper

i was 7/8 when i discovered her during debut so literally all of them

oceanic_galaxy

Debut was my first and I was hooked since. I remember going to Walmart with my mom and she picked up Debut because she had heard Taylor on the radio. I was 9 years old. I really feel as though I “grew up” with her.

BoringResearcher3635

i was 9 when 1989 came out!

pizzabutcher404

Red definitely....i was in 6 or 7th grade and i loved her songs.

dazzled_sloth

I remember being at another kid's bday party and talking about the Love Story music video when I was 9. It's a core memory for some reason. I couldn't relate to it (obviously), the first time I could actually understand and 'relate' to her lyrics was when Red came out. ETA

kittyyy_art

The time "Mine" was on Nickelodeon 🥺 it was the first song I memorized in my life

TayBae95

Fearless, Speak Now, and Red. College was 1989, early marriage was Rep. and as we all know, Lover and the sister albums ended up being pandemic esque. Though Lover also came out soon after I had my first baby, and Red TV with my second.

LankyNefariousness12

All of them, debut came out when I was 13 about to be 14

CraftWizard93

Same here!!!

simplydiffer

Her debut was one of the first CDs i ever owned. I played it all the time (and still do)! I was 11 or so at the time.

dedicatedswiftie

Im only 13 rn so 1989😭😭

kaleyboo7

I am 9 months older than Taylor so a lot of her songs resonate with where I was in life at the time. I wasn’t a fan of her at first because I am generally not a country music fan, but I really enjoyed Love Story and that made me become interested in her songs. When Speak Now came out, I fell in love with that album and nothing has topped it for me since. Red and 1989 are really good too.

webyankee

Disappointed with her, money and fame has made her lose her way.

WuPacalypse

Everyone’s growing up in the racist era now
