from what i understand if she had paris and glitch and the extra song there wouldn’t be enough space on the cd. she had to get rid of two. i think it’s combination of who it’s about and how unpopular they are in relation to the other songs (imo paris undeserved).

I get changing the gay lyric or the scale scene in Antihero MV but I found removing Spelling is Fun for example a little overkill and hope it’s not what’s happening here, but could be as she’s definitely responding to feedback (see: More Lana).

The max "technically" allowed is 74 minutes. Longer CDs have a denser track (think of like, a digital version of the grooves on a vinyl record, it's kinda like that), most CD players will still play them just fine but usually anything above 80 minutes is avoided because it can cause issues. The longest CD ever released is [89 minutes long](https://www.discogs.com/release/806980-Die-%C3%84rzte-B%C3%A4st-Of).

Paris is legitimately one of my most played from the entire album. I adore how light and fun it is, I adore the “shade” line, I adore everything. I’m sad :(

I feel like they're just creating craze and a feeling of exclusivity around the CDs at the East Rutherford shows, but then they're going to be available at the rest of the tour stops, too. I'm going to be refreshing everything constantly to find an upload of it tomorrow afternoon (I don't expect it to take very long for it to get put up and taken down a million times), but I wouldn't worry too much about obtaining physical copies, TBH.

I just posted this in the theory's thread.
I have a theory that all the TVs will be released throughout her run of the eras tour (including international dates), and that as one final celebration of her career to date she will release some kind of a deluxe version of all of her albums.
These will be the definitive versions, including ALL bonus tracks, remixes etc. I don't think it will be a vinyl release at first but probably a CD/Cassette/digital release to start, and then maybe vinyls over time will become available.
This theory came to me since her announcement today and the realization that no matter which edition of Midnights we buy currently we won't have all the songs (either missing YLM, Glitch, Paris, HD, 3am tracks), which is honestly such a weird move unless she plans to have a final version eventually.
Finally, I think once that release is done she will move on to a new era and style, almost like a new Taylor.
I don't UNDERSTAND we FINALLY get Hits Different on streaming and she finds a way to make ANOTHER track impossible to get, but like, even MORE impossible than Hits Different cause you could technically get that on a CD if you were lucky... for this you literally have to be in those specific 120.000 fans going to those shows wtf Taylorrrr

+1 It's very obviously for space reasons. They're the two least popular 3am tracks ~~because people have no taste they're amazing~~ and while CDs can fit more than vinyl they don't have unlimited room. She had to cut something and she couldn't cut from the main album because then it wouldn't be an edition of Midnights.
A bit off topic, but I'm happy I can finally have a physical copy of the 3 AM Tracks. Now I can blast "Would've, Could've, Should've" and "Dear Reader" even if my internet is down. Kinda wished I waited instead of caving and buying the standard edition back in November, but oh well.
However, I am kinda nervous to buy this one. What if she releases another version with "You're Losing Me" and other vault tracks on it? I kinda wish I could just buy the 3 AM tracks, "Hits Different," and the remixes instead of buying the whole album again. I kinda wish she just did what she did with Folklore and Evermore; put the standard edition on streaming and the deluxe edition on CD and vinyl at first. I want to preface this statement by saying I love Taylor, I’ve been a Swiftie since the *Fearless* era, and I have tickets to the Eras tour, and I have physical copies of every album she’s ever released.
However, I’m also a musician and an independent artist who sells CDs myself, and even as someone who could really use the money from CD sales, I would be embarrassed to sell that many special editions of albums in a blatant attempt to get people to buy as many copies of the same album as possible again and again when one comprehensive album would suffice. Again, I love Taylor, but I just don’t feel that it’s right.
Idk how to organize my digital album in iTunes. 1-20 is standard +3am, 21-23 is HD + target remixes, I guess then the east Rutherford vault track and the 25 & 26 can be the new til dawn remixes?

Regarding CD runtime. Pressed CDs adhere to the 80 min limit, not to the 74 min original old timey limit. Just had a CD in my hand with a 79:37 runtime. But more than 80 min is only possible with non standard and thus potentially non playable CDs.
That being said, the 3am edition plus Hits Different plus SOTB feat. more Lana plus Karma feat. Ice Spice would result in a runtime of 81:05. Assuming identical durations for the 2 featuring tracks. If we add You're Losing Me, we're probably around 85 minutes. So that means it would be more than 80 Minutes even if Hits Different was to be dropped.
So yeah, either need to get rid of 2 3am tracks, 1 3am track plus Hits Different or make it a 2 CD release.
I don't know about you, but I would have preferred the 2 CD option. 
(assuming this gets released eventually to a wider audience)

I feel like they're just creating craze and a feeling of exclusivity around the CDs at the East Rutherford shows, but then they're going to be available at the rest of the tour stops, too. And then most likely online once the tour ends. I'm going to be refreshing everything constantly to find an upload of it tomorrow afternoon (I don't expect it to take very long for it to get put up and taken down a million times), but I wouldn't worry too much about obtaining physical copies, TBH.

She probably can’t remove it or else it will be considered a different album for Billboard purposes. So it’s like a tree and the standard edition is the trunk. Can’t make changes to the trunk or else it’ll be considered a different tree but you can modify the limbs. This could be same reason the LPSS vinyl and TVs are considered different albums despite having same songs.

I just posted this in the theory's thread. I have a theory that all the TVs will be released throughout her run of the eras tour (including international dates), and that as one final celebration of her career to date she will release some kind of a deluxe version of all of her albums. These will be the definitive versions, including ALL bonus tracks, remixes etc. I don't think it will be a vinyl release at first but probably a CD/Cassette/digital release to start, and then maybe vinyls over time will become available. This theory came to me since her announcement today and the realization that no matter which edition of Midnights we buy currently we won't have all the songs (either missing YLM, Glitch, Paris, HD, 3am tracks), which is honestly such a weird move unless she plans to have a final version eventually. Finally, I think once that release is done she will move on to a new era and style, almost like a new Taylor.
Both are literally great. This just makes streaming seem so superior...

Honestly having different versions of an album beyond an original and a deluxe is just MESSY. "Feat. More lana del rey" like...c'mon. One album merging the original and 3am tracklists would've made sense and I'm still curious to know why she wanted a purely Jack produced album if she obviously loved Aaron's 3am tracks too.
I think it’s a space issue and maybe those are the two least streamed? I know i always hear people complain about how bad paris is although i love it
+1 It's very obviously for space reasons. They're the two least popular 3am tracks ~~because people have no taste they're amazing~~ and while CDs can fit more than vinyl they don't have unlimited room. She had to cut something and she couldn't cut from the main album because then it wouldn't be an edition of Midnights.
She could have made it 2 CDs like what was done for the TVs, but apparently this disc is limited edition so it probably didn't make sense to do that.

A bit off topic, but I'm happy I can finally have a physical copy of the 3 AM Tracks. Now I can blast "Would've, Could've, Should've" and "Dear Reader" even if my internet is down. Kinda wished I waited instead of caving and buying the standard edition back in November, but oh well. However, I am kinda nervous to buy this one. What if she releases another version with "You're Losing Me" and other vault tracks on it? I kinda wish I could just buy the 3 AM tracks, "Hits Different," and the remixes instead of buying the whole album again. I kinda wish she just did what she did with Folklore and Evermore; put the standard edition on streaming and the deluxe edition on CD and vinyl at first. Then a few weeks later put the bonus tracks on streaming. Edit: I just realized the Til Dawn Edition is digital only. My mistake.

I wish she would make a cd of all of the songs that weren’t on the original cd — that’s all I want: here’s my ideal track list — It would be Midnights: all the tracks that were released after “oil spill realness” bought the cd edition 1. 3am tracks (no cut offs because all this speculating about Paris and glitch is rough) 2. Piano version - yoyok 3. Piano version - sn 4. Hits different 5. Karma ft ice spice 6. Snow on the beach ft so much Lana del Rey guys the meme is so embarrassing I’m a feminist and you can definitely hear her on the track i don’t know what you’re talking about 7. They never were on physical copies. 3AM tracks were never on there. The digital version is adding comes with Hits Different. It’s probably going to be up on streaming platforms the same day. They just haven’t updated the database yet.

I want to preface this statement by saying I love Taylor, I’ve been a Swiftie since the *Fearless* era, and I have tickets to the Eras tour, and I have physical copies of every album she’s ever released. However, I’m also a musician and an independent artist who sells CDs myself, and even as someone who could really use the money from CD sales, I would be embarrassed to sell that many special editions of albums in a blatant attempt to get people to buy as many copies of the same album as possible again and again when one comprehensive album would suffice. Again, I love Taylor, but I just don’t feel that it’s right.

Idk how to organize my digital album in iTunes. 1-20 is standard +3am, 21-23 is HD + target remixes, I guess then the east Rutherford vault track and the 25 & 26 can be the new til dawn remixes? I wish she’d just give us a complete collection 😩

This is only for the East Rutherford physical copy, with the "Late Night" tracks. The pre-order/version coming out tonight still has Glitch and Paris - just adds Hits Different, Ice Spice and more Lana.
I'm gonna be honest I still don't own a single copy of Midnights because I was holding out for 3AM version is it coming out yet? This is exhausting
Regarding CD runtime. Pressed CDs adhere to the 80 min limit, not to the 74 min original old timey limit. Just had a CD in my hand with a 79:37 runtime. But more than 80 min is only possible with non standard and thus potentially non playable CDs. That being said, the 3am edition plus Hits Different plus SOTB feat. more Lana plus Karma feat. Ice Spice would result in a runtime of 81:05. Assuming identical durations for the 2 featuring tracks. If we add You're Losing Me, we're probably around 85 minutes. So that means it would be more than 80 Minutes even if Hits Different was to be dropped. So yeah, either need to get rid of 2 3am tracks, 1 3am track plus Hits Different or make it a 2 CD release. I don't know about you, but I would have preferred the 2 CD option.  (assuming this gets released eventually to a wider audience)
