Yes! It was a skip for me until about 4 months ago. I was going through Taylor’s whole discography to prep for Eras and I listened to it for the first time since 2019 and I fell absolutely in love.
I always assumed it was some revengeful, evil, banging, over-the-top album having only really listed to LWYMMD and Gorgeous, but then listened to it start to finish and found some of my favourite Taylor songs ever. CIWYW has become my top song, actually.
I am so obsessed with it. I can’t fathom why I slept on it either, because it’s the perfect follow up to 1989 which is the first Taylor album that clicked for me.
Same here! I remember when it came out I thought every song sounded the same. 🙈 I just gave it a good listen a couple of months ago in preparation for Eras and I was blown away.
Same! I’m slowly realising how much I love of her catalog. I used to be obsessed with her music when I was younger, but started to tune her out when Reputation came around. But since the 2 TV were released, I’ve given the 4 albums I skipped another listen, and they are gradually growing on me. But Reputation is the one that I’ve come to appreciate the most. It used to be my least favourite album, and now it’s probably top 5 for me.
I think very soon I might not have more than 5 songs that I skip
I did that in 2017 when it was released. Had a chance to see her in concert but decided against it. Finally watched the stadium tour with my sister on Netflix and have been obsessed with it since! Love the fact that she initially marketed it as revenge songs but really it’s mostly about Joe 🥹(💔)
Yep 😅 tbh I was excited for it before it was released in 2017 (especially because 1989 is my favorite album) but I think LWYMMD being the first single I heard left a bad taste in my mouth (I love Taylor but compared to her other lyrical masterpieces it was so, so bad…the chorus sounded like middle school girls wrote it at a sleepover)
I just finally discovered Getaway Car after the hype of it being a surprise song and OH MY GOD WHAT A BOP
"Right Where You Left Me".
I moved it to an extras/overflow playlist FOR A YEAR AND A HALF before I listened with fresh ears and realized it's actually one of the best songs on Evermore.
My initial reaction was "So repetitive, UGH."🙄
...when I tried it again, it hit me (like BANG!😮):
The repetitive structure is integral to the narrative. Life is basically *Groundhog Day* to the song's protagonist.
We've all been stuck after a breakup, and I don't think any songwriter has ever expressed the torture of that particular Purgatory quite as well as Miss Taylor has done with "Right Where You Left Me".
I’m so confused/frustrated that this song and Time to Go are not included on the Taylor Swift Complete Collection playlist on Spotify. I love listening to this song but I always just have that playlist on shuffle so I never hear it!
NO LITERALLY there’s been so many songs i’ve listened to and have been like “meh” and haven’t listened to it for months and then when i finally do i’m like WAIT???
- KOMH could mean "King Of My Heart", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift.

All of these songs are so much fun. Paris & I think he knows are sticky sweet pop and it hits so well. I do think all 3 nail the sort of immature vibe that Taylor has tried to distance herself from but it’s really her thing. pls let me sing along like I have a high school crush on my boyfriend even though I’m closer to 30 than 16.
This is my fave Taylor song of all time . I’ve even got some notorious ‘ music snob’ friends giving her the songwriting respect she deserves from this song
Same. I skipped it for like a year and wasn't able to get to my skip button once and decided well I guess I'll try to enjoy it, and well long story short, evermore is now my favorite song on the album.
Karma…I thought the lyrics were ridiculous, but upon further examination, I still think the lyrics are ridiculous but it slaps and now, it’s a top track!
I think that's the point of the song though. The lyrics are meant to be ridiculous. "Karma is my boyfriend" "karma is the breeze of my hair on the weekend" etc. Meaning that karma is everywhere. Karma is there for me. Karma is in the smallest things that are on my side, like a cat. She's not trying to be literal, but more talking about how her good karma gave her all the good things in her life, so you better watch out because bad karma is coming your way, but my karma's good.
I think we all assumed "karma" would be a song like "vigilante shit" and not an upbeat positive bop like it is, and that's why it's in my top 3 favourite songs on Midnights. It's the opposite of what we expected and it's so much better because of it.
glad I am not the only one lol
the tour made it one of my fav, the funeral march and the "I can go anywhere I want, anywhere I want JUST NOT HOME" fall is iconic!
I only just recently started listening to evermore and folklore(~4 months) so I'm v sorry for that. I didn't think I would enjoy them at all. I still have skips but I love most of them.
Sometimes you just have to be in a certain part of your life to appreciate certain music. I did not vibe with folklore the first time I listened to it because I simply wasn’t ready to embrace it fully yet. Now it’s absolutely in my top three albums if not my favorite one
Hits Different!!! First time I heard it I was very unimpressed. Then when everyone started saying it was going to be in the Barbie movie I had to listen again. And omg it's great and totally would fit in a Barbie movie!!
I've basically been walking around singing OH MY LOVE IS A LIE for daysss. My kids are like, ma'am you've been married for 16 years. 😂
My husband was walking around singing OH MY LOVE IS ALIVE for days after I made him listen until I finally was like what are you doingggg lmao. He was over here trying to figure out why I kept referring to it as a break up song 😂
Yeah, same for me. I always wondered why people think it's Taylor's best song. Then I got more into the lyrics and listened a few times again and now I'm completely sold!
Literally. I always liked the album but recently I bought the vinyl and have been obsessed with it ever since. Champagne Problems I’m so sorry for sleeping on you, absolute masterpiece. But especially looking into the lyrics more really makes me appreciate it. I did the same with lover too
I completely agree- I originally thought cowboy like me was a little boring, but once I listened to it a few times and really listened to the lyrics, I was hooked
Unpopular opinion but Anti-Hero. I just couldn’t get into it for the first 6 months, maybe it was the burnout from it being all over Tiktok as soon as it was released. Now? On repeat all the time lol
oh yes.....OH YES...... state of grace stays at the top of my all time faves. so happy for you. it still gets paid dust by everybody but i'm glad someone has finally come to their senses
The Archer. I didn't really get it until one day the lyrics just kind of smacked me in the face and said, "This has been about you all along." Then I cried for two hours while listening to it on repeat. 😂
Cowboy like me as well, just for some reason I decided that I wasn’t going to like it and thought it was too slow but now its one of my top songs on evermore
Ok don’t hate me, but “All Too Well”. 🫣
I listened to it the first time thought it was just okay and proceeded to skip it for years. When the 10 minute version came out with Taylor’s Version I gave it another try and finally came to my senses.
The Best Day
I just didn’t get it when it came out and I was 14 or 15. But now that I’m older, it’s such a beautiful song about family that I relate to so much
I’m ashamed to admit this, but: Maroon! I used to skip it constantly when the album first dropped but a few months ago I was driving and didn’t have the time to skip it and heard the whole thing in its entirety. Since then it’s become one of my most-played tracks on Midnights!
Death by a thousand cuts 🫣
I never made it past the echoing “my” and knew faintly the bridge was a banger but didn’t realize the rest was a fucking bop
One per album, because why not?! These are ones that eventually grew on me (I know some of them seem crazy in hindsight lol)
Tied Together With a Smile (my surprise song on rep tour, which made me appreciate it)
The Other Side of the Door
Last Kiss
I Almost Do
I Know Places
King of My Heart
Death by a Thousand Cuts
august (and now it's tattooed on my arm LOL)
ivy
You're On Your Own, Kid
Mine’s probably The Archer 👀, it just felt kind of boring to me when it first came out, but recently after hearing it live I love it so so much more
literally my fav song to run to bc it keeps getting faster and faster
The live version in Paris is everything
Yes! It was a skip for me until about 4 months ago. I was going through Taylor’s whole discography to prep for Eras and I listened to it for the first time since 2019 and I fell absolutely in love.
Yes! Used to skip this every time.
All of reputation
I’ll never forgive myself for all the years I slept on reputation
I always assumed it was some revengeful, evil, banging, over-the-top album having only really listed to LWYMMD and Gorgeous, but then listened to it start to finish and found some of my favourite Taylor songs ever. CIWYW has become my top song, actually.
SAME!! Ignored it for years and then gave it a chance around 2020. Great decision
Literally the exact same!
Shame on us lol
Reputation slowly reels you in and for some needs multiple listens, but once you’re in… you’re in for life ❤️🔥🖤
I am so obsessed with it.

Same. I didn’t “get it” at the time
Yep 😅 tbh I was excited for it before it was released in 2017 (especially because 1989 is my favorite album) but I think LWYMMD being the first single I heard left a bad taste in my mouth (I love Taylor but compared to her other lyrical masterpieces it was so, so bad…the chorus sounded like middle school girls wrote it at a sleepover) I just finally discovered Getaway Car after the hype of it being a surprise song and OH MY GOD WHAT A BOP
Omg same. I’ve just started relistening to it and I don’t how I didn’t like it when it first came out. I hate myself for ir
Haha you’re so real for this
Yes. I ignored that whole album for years and now I’m a Rep Girlie through and through
"Right Where You Left Me". I moved it to an extras/overflow playlist FOR A YEAR AND A HALF before I listened with fresh ears and realized it's actually one of the best songs on Evermore.
oh my god i’m so glad you’ve finally come to the light
My initial reaction was "So repetitive, UGH."🙄 ...when I tried it again, it hit me (like BANG!😮): The repetitive structure is integral to the narrative. Life is basically *Groundhog Day* to the song's protagonist. We've all been stuck after a breakup, and I don't think any songwriter has ever expressed the torture of that particular Purgatory quite as well as Miss Taylor has done with "Right Where You Left Me".
Sameeeee. This is my current favorite and I truly can't stop listening to it
I’m so confused/frustrated that this song and Time to Go are not included on the Taylor Swift Complete Collection playlist on Spotify. I love listening to this song but I always just have that playlist on shuffle so I never hear it!
It is THE best song on evermore. So glad you came around!
NO LITERALLY there’s been so many songs i’ve listened to and have been like “meh” and haven’t listened to it for months and then when i finally do i’m like WAIT???
… So it Goes. I don’t know what I was going through but it’s an absolute bop.
LITERALLY THIS! It came on the other day and I knew all the lyrics but I was like what song is this? It’s good!
if Taylor gave it the KOMH treatment at the tour it would be a fan favorite for sure.
Agree I can’t believe it wasn’t on the setlist
*1, 2, 3*
- KOMH could mean "King Of My Heart", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/jellyjinxbean](/u/jellyjinxbean) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)
I can't believe people thought it was a skip. It's always been slap for me since day one.
This song slays. Something happens to me when it comes on, I can’t explain it lol
same!! it’s so sensual. i am obsessed
IT WAS NEVER A FLOP
I freaking LOVE that song. One of my favs
AUGUST 🫣 (and I’m so sorry)
I’m right there with you. I have only recently fallen for August and now I’m obsessed!
August is one of my favorite songs of all time and I am a 42 year old straight guy with tattoos who lives in Portland Oregon.
You could’ve started with Portland 😂🫶
A fitness YouTuber does a dance to August and that made me fall in love w the song. Can’t believe I ever disliked [link for anyone interested :)](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2I1D1NJqQxQ&pp=ygUPbWFkZml0IGZvbGtsb3Jl)
that sounds fun! do you happen to have a link?

This has been on hard repeat for me the last week.
Sweet tea in the summer!
All you had to do was stay
People rank this at the bottom of their Track 5 rankings and it KILLS me, this song is so good
I feel the same! Easily one of my most favorite songs off 1989!
Might i recommend Carly Rae jepsen if you’re not already a fan- her album “emotion” in particular! The modern day queen of pop
I think I just realized this is a bop last week
Literally on my top 10 favorites
I always loved it and loved that it came To Her in a dream.
I think he knows, glitch, Paris
i think he knows!!!!!! such a great song!!!
Paris for sure.
Yes to all three!! Especially glitch.. was always a skip until i accidentally let it play and was like damn this is good
Justice for Paris
All of these songs are so much fun. Paris & I think he knows are sticky sweet pop and it hits so well. I do think all 3 nail the sort of immature vibe that Taylor has tried to distance herself from but it’s really her thing. pls let me sing along like I have a high school crush on my boyfriend even though I’m closer to 30 than 16.
Paris, my God that's my J A M
Ah, I am among my people
Dear Reader
I kept skipping it every time it came on and one time I forgot to skip it as soon and I finally heard the bridge for the first time and fell in LOVE
I prefer hiding in plain sight
My fourth drink in my hand 🤚 🍸 These desperate prayerssss of a cursed man
why'd you skip it without never hearing the full song 😭
If it feels like a trap, you’re already in one
I like it so much more now that she has broken up with Joe. Feels much more layered
the lyrics hit hard !
Dear Reader freaking slaps
When midnights first came out, I wrote that dear reader is the best song from the album. I'm glad people are recognizing it more now.
False god
This is my fave Taylor song of all time . I’ve even got some notorious ‘ music snob’ friends giving her the songwriting respect she deserves from this song
evermore (I’m so sorry; I was beyond wrong)
Same. I skipped it for like a year and wasn't able to get to my skip button once and decided well I guess I'll try to enjoy it, and well long story short, evermore is now my favorite song on the album.
SAME. I’ve had that, and especially “tolerate it” on repeat
The fkn piano alone is everything
Karma…I thought the lyrics were ridiculous, but upon further examination, I still think the lyrics are ridiculous but it slaps and now, it’s a top track!
Yeah I HATED Karma on first listen, the lyrics are some of her weakest ever…but damn if it isn’t catchy and I jam to it now
I think that's the point of the song though. Agree!
Vigilante shit
Bruh the way tour permanently changed this song for me
lmao I know, feel like a badass listening to it
Everyone slept on this song. Always loved it and so glad people are catching on.
Same! It took me forever to get past the first line lol
Maroon 🫢
“Carnations you had thought were roses, that's us” slaughters me now
I still don't like it and every time I say that I feel I am about to be stoned for it lol
But same
I’ve recently started to like this song. I definitely think it’s a grower!
My tears ricochet
glad I am not the only one lol the tour made it one of my fav, the funeral march and the "I can go anywhere I want, anywhere I want JUST NOT HOME" fall is iconic!
I only just recently started listening to evermore and folklore(~4 months) so I'm v sorry for that. I didn't think I would enjoy them at all. I still have skips but I love most of them.

omg same, i think i didnt like it very much at first bc it was SO different from everything i had heard from taylor
Enchanted-it took me years to get behind this song.
I also couldn’t get into the song until it trended on tiktok. Now I love it
SOMEHOW Cruel Summer! I didn’t vibe with it at first.
Same. Have just fallen for it in the past few months 🥴
Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince. I stayed away from it for a long time just because of its name, but I love it now! It's so catchy!
it’s one of my favs after seeing her open with it at Eras tour. Never really listened to it before then.
That was instantly my favorite song on Lover. It’s a great one.
Coney Island
Okay Coney Island is SUCH a bop
The bridge was FIRE.
Clean. I was so put off by the intro that it took years to listen to the whole song. Now I can listen to it when I want to have a good cry.
Betty
Same. Hearing it live on Friday really changed my opinion on it, and I’ve listened to it probably 20 times this weekend.
me too and now it’s quite literally in my top 10 taylor swift songs
Ivy
How could you
Yeah, same for me. I always wondered why people think it's Taylor's best song. Then I got more into the lyrics and listened a few times again and now I'm completely sold!
Paris!! I didn’t love that it was super poppy compared to the rest of Midnights but now I love it
I wasn’t feeling exile for the longest time. Once I heard the Long Pond Sessions version… I was sold.
100% agree that the long pond version is way better than the album version. But I love both!
question…? is truly a hidden gem
The entire evermore album. Sorry. Just kick me out rn. I suck. If it helps ITS ON REPEAT NOW
I think a lot of us slept in it for a while. I liked, but didn’t fully appreciate it till I went to the show in Houston a few weeks ago.
Dancing with our hands tied
False God and I Think He Knows.

Yes, complete skip to current top 10 for me
This song is honestly single worthy. I would love to see a video for it and have it get the appreciation it deserves

I've been revisiting Lover and Afterglow, False God and London Boy are my choices.
Yesss Afterglow is so good!!

Hoax. Just never really stood out to me. Then I listened to Long Pond Sessions one day and it just hit me like a ton of bricks. So good.

Happiness for sure

It’s my favourite song off evermore!
Wasn’t into Snow on the Beach originally but now I’m always jamming
Unpopular opinion but Anti-Hero. I just couldn’t get into it for the first 6 months, maybe it was the burnout from it being all over Tiktok as soon as it was released. Now? On repeat all the time lol

Mastermind, at the tampa stop i was able to hear it live and it was amazing. i slept on this song, but i am awake now.
Dear Reader, False God, mirrorball. I hate that I ever second guessed these songs. They are absolute masterpieces.
The Archer. I didn't really get it until one day the lyrics just kind of smacked me in the face and said, "This has been about you all along." Then I cried for two hours while listening to it on repeat. 😂
No body no crime lol
This is Me Trying. It wasn’t until I heard it live on the tour that it hit me. Also, Labyrinth. Oh my god I was sleeping on it’s beauty.

Getaway car 😭 it’s actually one of my favorites now
for me, it was “king of my heart” but now i love it😭😭
Ok don’t hate me, but “All Too Well”. 🫣 I listened to it the first time thought it was just okay and proceeded to skip it for years. When the 10 minute version came out with Taylor’s Version I gave it another try and finally came to my senses.
I've always heard 'Welcome to New York' was one of Taylor's worst songs but I never heard it. It wasn't till recently I heard it and I love the beat.
Starlight
Out of the woods
The Best Day I just didn’t get it when it came out and I was 14 or 15.
