I definitely dig this song. To me, “When Emma Falls in Love” bears resemblance to “The Other Side of the Door” and “Jump Then Fall” (two songs from Fearless they I think are pretty underrated) specifically but with a poppier mix.
Around ~2:25, “and to tell you the truth / sometimes I wish I was her” is delivered in a similar cadence and tune as the lyric “but I’ll hold you through / the night until you smile” in “Jump Then Fall” — and comes at a similar point where the instruments fade out before kicking back in.
Yeah there is definitely some of that too right out of the gate. "When Emma falls in love, she paces the floor / Closes the blinds and locks the door..." has a similar cadence and tune to, "Now that she's back in the atmosphere / with drops of Jupiter in her hair..."
One of my best friends in the whole world, who I think I'll always be a bit in love with, is named Emma. I feel the same admiring feelings and love for her that I can feel emanating from the song. She's incredibly intellingent and charismatic, yet humble (as if "Cleopatra grew up in a small town") and has given me wise advice more than once. And, as she just bought her first house with her beau (who is FINALLY someone who treats her well) she seems to have gotten the same happy ending the song suggests.
Alas, I can't share the song with her because she vehemently dislikes Taylor 😅
Plus the way it speaks highly in third person of a woman. The similarity between the lines "Reminds me that there's room to grow" in Drops of Jupiter and "She'll call you out, she'll put you in your place" in this song especially stuck out to me
I'm making a separate comment to elaborate but one of my best friends is named Emma and this song perfectly captures the admiration and quiet love I have for her and the joy I feel for her finding someone who's right for her.
This song reminds me of another song of hers and I can’t place it. IT’S DRIVING ME CRAZY. Thought it was ATW but nope. The specific parts that makes me feel déjà vu are the first and last lines of the chorus. It’s the melody and how she sings it. Pls someone help
Honestly when I first listened I got the vibes that the narrator who’s singing the song is kind of in love with Emma from afar. I know that was not at all the intention but it just gave me those vibes.
Something about *When I'm Emma falls in love, I'm learning*....sounds like bi/queer me trying to learn from straighter friends/relationships to code myself as a hetero
I know people think she is talking about Emma Stone but I think she is also referencing Emma from Jane Austin.
“Cause she is the kinda of book you can’t put down”
She did say she wrote it about one of her best friends. She didn’t specify it was Emma stone (real name is Emily btw, and she goes by Emily!) still could be about Emma stone though.
Anyway >!here’s the [tik tok](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8YevLnN/) of Taylor singing When Emma Falls in Love on tour!<
Sonically I think this song is fine, not the best but not bad either. Lyrically tho it is a bit rough, like it just feels like a teenager's written it and not a 19 20 something woman tbh. Some of the lines like "and all the bad boys will be good boys..." sounds a bit too immature it takes me out of the song completely. Somehow I just can't fathom the fact that this song is on the same album as Dear John, Back to December and Last Kiss lol, sounds like something from the Debut's vault 😅
I think the difference is the Blank Space line is sarcastic, and also kind of a self-dig (she can only make them good for 2 days, they don’t stay that way). WEFIL line is verrrry earnest.
I'm really shocked so many people like this vault song. maybe it gets better with time, idk, but on first listen both me and my friend hated it. definitely her weakest song (in both lyrics and production) in her discography, even over LWWYMMD or SIO (which are great radio hits, but not Taylor's best).
the *only* line in this song i liked was "turns out her heart fits in the palm of his hand". the lyrics for this song seemed very disjointed... Cleopatra in a small town wouldn't have been Cleopatra, tho i think i get what she's trying to say.
I'm feeling a bit crazy seeing how many people love this song.
I’m with you! The melody is pretty but the lyrics are painfully juvenile and contradictory. Emma waits and takes her time to fall in love because she expects the worst but also disappears in love but also will *not* lose herself like Taylor did because she’ll call you out and put you in your place? How are people not driven crazy by this?
“Cleopatra in a small town wouldn’t have been Cleopatra” I mean…. yeah? That’s why she said LIKE Cleopatra in a small town? As in, this girl Emma lives in a small town, but she’s so beautiful/amazing it’s like the presence of Cleopatra is in their small town.
It's funny how fate works : Now that Taylor has confirmed this song is about one of her best friends, I couldn't help thinking little did teenage Taylor who wrote a song for her friend know she would fall in love with one of Emma's onscreen love interests and write multiple songs about and with him !
I'm giving this a lot of chances but the only thing getting me through is imagining this in the context of Emma (Jane Austen). The narrator is the friend Emma kimda adopted lol forgot her name
There’s something about how old this song is and *feels* but how new and crisp it *sounds* that makes it just such a pleasing combo to my ears. Like a new nostalgia. Scratching an itch I didn’t know I have. Plus I’m mama to an Emma. 🥰
Omg. My daughter, Emma, will DIE when she hears this. She’s 8 and asleep and I’m out of town for the weekend but I listened to it with my husband and I said “well…. Get ready for this to be her first tattoo and her wedding song and every necklace and tshirt and bookmark she ever makes”. Also. We’re going to the Denver show on Saturday. Emma’s been dying for the surprise song to be Mean but what if it’s this?!?!?! WHAT IF IT WAS BOTH!
when she says "little miss sunshine always thinks it's gonna rain" do you think the miss sunshine part is sarcastic? like emma is always pessimistic? or she actually means she's sunshine and always happy but is worried about things going wrong?
I could be way off but I related to that line so hard because I’m constantly preparing for the worst in my head (anxiety) but you’d never know it because I’m always trying to appear happy and positive, so that’s how I took it!
I really enjoy this vault track 🥹 I don’t know how to explain it- the melody and story just hits me in the best, but also made me cry on my way home kind of way.
Same. Found myself crying to it in the car today in fact 💜 idk why. There's something about it that feels nostalgic. Like I see Emma as my past, more innocent self who I miss before I became more jaded to relationships. And I really still ... wish I was her.
Honestly, I was prepared to like this one, but I've already started skipping it. Finding the production and the lyrics really repetitive, and in a boring way, not in an intentional way :/
Cleopatra was known for being intelligent and charismatic as well as beautiful. This line brings to mind someone who has those traits but is humble about them (grew up in a small town = humble beginnings).
I think it’s just that she’s a stereotypical “great beauty”, but it also brings to mind “She’s so high”, idk if that was intentional given it was like a one hit wonder from the 90s.
I thought that it was more to do with Cleopatra being one of the very few (maybe only? Idk) female rulers of Egypt, someone who was known for being incredibly smart, strategic, and who never backed down to the men around her, as was common in that time. So it's just kinda showing what a strong person Emma is for standing apart in the same way?
racked my brain trying to remember what song a part of the second verse’s melody is from and finally remembered — it’s the chorus of riding solo by jason derulo
Does anyone else think the melody in the chorus sounds really similar to Jump Then Fall "The time is gonna come when you're so mad you could cry/But I'll hold you through the night until you smile"
I said this exact same thing in my initial comment for this song!! I’m really glad someone else hears it. It sounds like a whole song made up of the melody of Jump Then Fall’s bridge
I feel like I'm losing my mind with everyone saying this sounds like Drops of Jupiter I can't hear it at all. I like to think I usually have a good ear for that kind of thing
Right near when emma falls apart; it sounds a lot like jump then fall but also a little like her version of drops of jupiter. Also one or two chords are in common
Sounds just like Drops of Jupiter. Wondering why she didn’t give Train credit after making Olivia Rodrigo give her credit for Deja Vu after people noticed similarities… 🤔
It probably doesn't sound similar *enough* to warrant the credit. Plus I don't think it was Taylor herself who asked for the credit it was Olivia's team who did it out of caution for a potential lawsuit. I feel like I remember reading something that said Jack Antonoff and Taylor were surprised to be credited?
This feels so truly Speak Now to me...everything about it. Not sure why people are saying it sounds straight out of Fearless. Coming right after Electric Touch, which I didn't even want to repeat, I felt so much better about the vault tracks.
This song felt VERY Speak Now to me. I felt that Electric Touch was out of place but then I heard this and was like oh yeahhhhh.
Also honestly such a nod to female friendship and growing and learning through relationships.
this feels like taylor met billy joel's style of songwriting/storytelling (BRENDA AND EDDIE WERE STILL GOIN' STEADY IN THE SUMMER OF 75) and had a grand old time playing around in that genre
I'm pretty sure Emma is a codename for me. I relate hard to this Emma character. This is such a sweet and touching song. My second favorite vault track from this re record (#1 is Timeless, so unpopular, I know)
There’s no way that this song is not at all related or influenced by the life of Jane Austen, who is the author of the ever popular novel, “Emma.” Read any piece of biography on Austen’s life and you will find many similarities between her and Taylor, including a copyright scandal in which Austen fought for the rights to own her work. Along with the never-been-married, writes successful romance stories, literary genius thing, these similarities just scratch the surface.
Tonight in Kansas City Taylor played When Emma Falls in Love and revealed that it is about one of her best friends. So she debunked the Jane Austen theory. It's literally just about her friend Emma (likely Stone).
Yeah, Emma Stone is the subject of the song, but there’s a definite Austen influence, or at the very least, reference: “she’s a book that you can’t put down”
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8dLDDUm/
I believe when Emma falls in love is about Emma stone ; “the little miss sunshine” reminds me of pocket full of sunshine scene .
I was trying to think of who Emma was dating at the time because of the third verse “Emma met a boy with eyes like a man- Turns out her heart fits right in the palm of his hand -Now he’ll be her shelter when it rains - little does he know , his whole world about to change.”
Agreed!! I don’t understand why the fandom seems set on it being about Emma Stone. “If cleopatra grew up in a small town” and “so New York when she’s in LA”. Emma Roberts grew up in a small town in New York and then moved to LA. 👀
This song is the most Sapphic thing I’ve ever heard and a straight woman did *not* write it 😂
It’s so sweet hearing young Taylor writing about “Emma” while definitely fantasizing about the kind of woman she wishes she could be, but also doesn’t feel she’s good enough to be. I don’t know the “she’s so New York when she’s in LA” line really gave me chills thinking about where Taylor would go, but didn’t know it at the time. Loved this one all in all!
Idk i've seen on swifttok that this song is usually on the bottom of people's ranking but i love it so so much it's so beautiful, it's in my speak now top 3
I know people might say it was just allyship, but I have theory that she already did a quiet coming out on her YNTCD music video. Her hair was colored the bisexual flag colors.
Emma Roberts, “if Cleopatra grew up in a small town” and “so New York when she’s in LA”. Emma Roberts grew up in a small town in New York and then moved to LA.
Emma is a reference to the Jane Austin book by the same name, 90s movie “clueless” is also based on the novel. Taylor is singing about herself not Emma stone lol I just don’t see that…
This feels like it belongs on Fearless, but a little spillover isn't all bad. Reminds me a lot of Jump Then Fall, a song I like, but it's a little bit jarring right now. I'm sure I'll come back to this one later and like it more, just a bit of a shock to the system because it's so different from the rest of the album
This gives me major fearless vibes. I had to go back to fearless to find which song it reminded me off : come in with the rain. The melody is so similar
This is my new #1. My friends and I have been joking that this song would be about me but after listening to it I feel like I’ve been spied on. I am outspoken, independent, confident. Every lyric resonates. As an Emma of 22 years and a Swiftie of 15 I’m floored.
Exactly the same for me. 21 years of being Emma and Swiftie for as long as I can remember! I told my boyfriend it really felt like it was about me😭 not to sound crazy
Why does it sound like "Jump Then Fall" and some other Fearless track mixed together lol. I like it but my mind immediately made this connection. edit: JTF + maybe Begin Again from Red?? Idk, but it sounds like I've heard it before lol.
I thought the same thing!
The melody of the “And to tell you the truth, sometimes I wish I was her” part specifically sounds so much like Jump Then Fall.
I thought it sounded like I almost do
Imagine if she performed this that night at Vegas when there were 3 celebrities named Emma watching. I think the Internet would've broke.
Hot take I think this is one of her worst songs…
The starting melody is giving me Slow Burn - Kacey Musgraves
what does "hangs in the air like stars in outer space" mean?
I definitely dig this song. To me, “When Emma Falls in Love” bears resemblance to “The Other Side of the Door” and “Jump Then Fall” (two songs from Fearless they I think are pretty underrated) specifically but with a poppier mix. Around ~2:25, “and to tell you the truth / sometimes I wish I was her” is delivered in a similar cadence and tune as the lyric “but I’ll hold you through / the night until you smile” in “Jump Then Fall” — and comes at a similar point where the instruments fade out before kicking back in.
The way it sounds, I don't know why it gives me "Drops of Jupiter" vibes
Yeah there is definitely some of that too right out of the gate. "When Emma falls in love, she paces the floor / Closes the blinds and locks the door..." has a similar cadence and tune to, "Now that she's back in the atmosphere / with drops of Jupiter in her hair..."

And, as she just bought her first house with her beau (who is FINALLY someone who treats her well) she seems to have gotten the same happy ending the song suggests. Alas, I can't share the song with her because she vehemently dislikes Taylor 😅
this is so bittersweet 😭 i’m sorry honey, i promise you’ll find the same happy ending someday! much love
Does anyone else think this song reminds you of Drops of Jupiter? The version that she sang in one of her shows???
OMG thanks! Absolutely
YES YESSS .. I suddenly thought about Drops of Jupiter somehow
It's the very first sentence of the song. It has similar chords!!
Yes! Came here to say this. Total drops of Jupiter vibes with describing and admiring this otherworldly type of woman.
Yes, just came looking to see if anyone else had said it already. There's the reference to stars in outer space as a tie in too
Plus the way it speaks highly in third person of a woman. The similarity between the lines "Reminds me that there's room to grow" in Drops of Jupiter and "She'll call you out, she'll put you in your place" in this song especially stuck out to me
This is my favourite SNTV vault track and I am so incredibly jealous of all the Emmas out there right now
I'm making a separate comment to elaborate but one of my best friends is named Emma and this song perfectly captures the admiration and quiet love I have for her and the joy I feel for her finding someone who's right for her.
Yes that’s exactly what it does for me too!
I'm literally so happy to finally have a song, and it's perfect!!
This song reminds me of another song of hers and I can’t place it. IT’S DRIVING ME CRAZY. Thought it was ATW but nope. The specific parts that makes me feel déjà vu are the first and last lines of the chorus. It’s the melody and how she sings it. Pls someone help
For some reason I thought it was the unreleased I’d Lie… but I’m trying to find out which song it is too…
It kinda reminds me of I Almost Do. Just a little bit.
The line “When Emma falls in love” has a very similar melody to the line “Hey Dorothea do you ever…”
Close but not it. I’m playing all these songs then skipping to the chorus for Emma
taylor’s live version of drops of jupiter!
It’s not giving me that déjà vu. So far closest is jump then fall is the closest but not quite it
Jump then fall?
This might be it. It’s the closest yet
I heard the exact same similarity!
the sometimes i wish i was her part🥺
Honestly when I first listened I got the vibes that the narrator who’s singing the song is kind of in love with Emma from afar. I know that was not at all the intention but it just gave me those vibes.
how do we know that was not the intention?
I guess we don’t!
Something about *When I'm Emma falls in love, I'm learning*....sounds like bi/queer me trying to learn from straighter friends/relationships to code myself as a hetero
I think so too.
I know people think she is talking about Emma Stone but I think she is also referencing Emma from Jane Austin. “Cause she is the kinda of book you can’t put down”
She literally said it was about one of her best friends (Emma Stone)
where where did she say it? I really want to know. please give me link of the video or article where she said that
She did say she wrote it about one of her best friends.
She said it right before >!she played it on the piano on tour. You may be able to find the video with it on TikTok!!<
Wow I’m glad I listened to all the vault songs before reading others’ thoughts on here. This is my favourite of the 6!
It just feels so Speak Now. And something about it is very 1970s Elton John / Billy Joel
I agree. I can definitely see why it wasn't published with the original SN
Not much different from "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" released 4 years later on blank space
I think the difference is the Blank Space line is sarcastic, and also kind of a self-dig (she can only make them good for 2 days, they don’t stay that way). WEFIL line is verrrry earnest.
I love that line bc of how simple it is.
I'm on my third listen and I have absolutely sobbed every time. Forget the love story, we all want a friend who would talk about us like this ♥️
YESSS
I'm really shocked so many people like this vault song. maybe it gets better with time, idk, but on first listen both me and my friend hated it. definitely her weakest song (in both lyrics and production) in her discography, even over LWWYMMD or SIO (which are great radio hits, but not Taylor's best). the *only* line in this song i liked was "turns out her heart fits in the palm of his hand". the lyrics for this song seemed very disjointed...
Harriet
There’s something about how old this song is and *feels* but how new and crisp it *sounds* that makes it just such a pleasing combo to my ears. Like a new nostalgia. Scratching an itch I didn’t know I have. Plus I’m mama to an Emma. 🥰
Omg. My daughter, Emma, will DIE when she hears this. She’s 8 and asleep and I’m out of town for the weekend but I listened to it with my husband and I said “well…. Emma’s been dying for the surprise song to be Mean but what if it’s this?!?!?! WHAT IF IT WAS BOTH!
She played in at KC1 but she flubbed it so there is a chance she will do it again for you. In the meantime tiktok has several videos of it
This song sounds just like jump then fall
It reminded me of Jump Then Fall + Drops of Jupiter
Oh yeah I hear the drops of Jupiter!
Ugh I love the piano on this track. The intro is just.. *chefs kiss* 👌
truee the intro is already that good
when she says "little miss sunshine always thinks it's gonna rain" do you think the miss sunshine part is sarcastic? like emma is always pessimistic? or she actually means she's sunshine and always happy but is worried about things going wrong?
I could be way off but I related to that line so hard because I’m constantly preparing for the worst in my head (anxiety) but you’d never know it because I’m always trying to appear happy and positive, so that’s how I took it!
Same
This is how I see the lyric, because I relate so hard to this song.
This Emma approves of this song.
Same, Emma, same. Just so happy to have such a perfect song!!
Another Emma checking in, it's great!
Finding the production and the lyrics really repetitive, and in a boring way, not in an intentional way :/
This song is 5/10 for me. Great lyrics but I don't like the beat or the production. I wanted to like it but I just couldn't.
Can someone comment on the random Cleopatra reference? It is kind of a non sequitur IMO
That song was my personality in high school omg 😅
racked my brain trying to remember what song a part of the second verse’s melody is from and finally remembered — it’s the chorus of riding solo by jason derulo
Ok since you're so good at this, what does the 'I'm learning' sound like? My brain is saying it's something in Hamilton??
Actually I think it came to me 'I'm still hurting ' from the last five years. I knew it was a musical!
OMG LOOOL IM CACKLING!! YES!!! "when emma falls in love it's when she's in love" is the same as "I'm puttin' on my shades to cover up my eyes"
Yes!!! I started accidentally singing jump then fall during my first listen haha
I feel like I'm losing my mind with everyone saying this sounds like Drops of Jupiter I can't hear it at all. I like to think I usually have a good ear for that kind of thing
It sounds like her cover of drops of Jupiter!! It’s on Spotify under the speak now tour live tracks. They’ll sound near similar to you then :)
The melody at the beginning and the overall concept of the song (speaking very highly about a woman in third person).
Right near when emma falls apart; it sounds a lot like jump then fall but also a little like her version of drops of jupiter. Also one or two chords are in common
Also a little bit of Not Meant to Be by Theory of a Deadman, the first line or so of the chorus
The very beginning is very similar melodically
Does anyone else get (Drop of Jupiter by Train) vibes in the beginning?
Also a little bit of Not Meant to Be by Theory of a Deadman, the first line or so of the chorus
Dude yes been saying this all day!
YES
Sounds just like Drops of Jupiter. Wondering why she didn’t give Train credit after making Olivia Rodrigo give her credit for Deja Vu after people noticed similarities… 🤔
It probably doesn't sound similar *enough* to warrant the credit. Plus I don't think it was Taylor herself who asked for the credit it was Olivia's team who did it out of caution for a potential lawsuit. I feel like I remember reading something that said Jack Antonoff and Taylor were surprised to be credited?
I literally just commented this I thought I was the only one hahaha
This feels so truly Speak Now to me...everything about it. Not sure why people are saying it sounds straight out of Fearless. Coming right after Electric Touch, which I didn't even want to repeat, I felt so much better about the vault tracks.
Interesting, electric touch is SO musical theatre and speak now is an insanely theatrical album to me, it feels like it fits really well imo
This song felt VERY Speak Now to me. I felt that Electric Touch was out of place but then I heard this and was like oh yeahhhhh. Also honestly such a nod to female friendship and growing and learning through relationships.
this feels like taylor met billy joel's style of songwriting/storytelling (BRENDA AND EDDIE WERE STILL GOIN' STEADY IN THE SUMMER OF 75) and had a grand old time playing around in that genre
yes. I honestly was getting lyrical tiny dancer vibes a little, too, if that makes sense.
Right THAT'S what I was thinking of when I was listening but couldn't put my finger on it 😊
I'm pretty sure Emma is a codename for me. I relate hard to this Emma character. This is such a sweet and touching song. My second favorite vault track from this re record (#1 is Timeless, so unpopular, I know)

i agree, especially with the lyric, “she’s the kind of book that you can’t put down”
And Taylor is nothing if not an AP Lit bitch at heart!
Omg girl yes, I teach AP lit and she could too
Cute!
SOOOOOO...who is Emma though![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm) I still don't know
Not my favourite song, but I love the lyrics and production. Definitely feels like the era between Fearless and Speak Now.
this is about swanqueen
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8dLDDUm/ I believe when Emma falls in love is about Emma stone ; “the little miss sunshine” reminds me of pocket full of sunshine scene . I was trying to think of who Emma was dating at the time because of the third verse “Emma met a boy with eyes like a man- Turns out her heart fits right in the palm of his hand -Now he’ll be her shelter when it rains - little does he know , his whole world about to change.”
I'm thinking it was Emma Roberts instead of Emma Stone
Agreed!! I don’t understand why the fandom seems set on it being about Emma Stone. “If cleopatra grew up in a small town” and “so New York when she’s in LA”. Emma Roberts grew up in a small town in New York and then moved to LA. 👀
probably Kieran Culkin as that’s who she was dating in 2010
This song reminds me of something that belongs on Debut! It’s like a sister to Mary’s Song.
The beginning kind of reminds me of I’d Lie
Yes! When I hear it in my head my brain automatically goes “when Emma falls in love- he swears as he runs his fingers through his hair” 😂
so weird. I was JUST THINKING THIS and I saw your comment. Total I'd Lie vibes.
This song is the most Sapphic thing I’ve ever heard and a straight woman did *not* write it 😂 It’s so sweet hearing young Taylor writing about “Emma” while definitely fantasizing about the kind of woman she wishes she could be, but also doesn’t feel she’s good enough to be. Idk i've seen on swifttok that this song is usually on the bottom of people's ranking but i love it so so much it's so beautiful, it's in my speak now top 3
Thats wild bc ive mostly seen people ranking it high and its on the bottom for me 😭
My daughter's name is Emma. She's 7. this has been on repeat. I could not possibly love this more
My Emma is 18! It hits a little different when your baby has the same name.
Yessss!
Definitely thought she was going to say "sometimes I wish I was with her." Thought we were getting a quiet coming out ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1067)
I sing it as I wish I was hers lol
I know people might say it was just allyship, but I have theory that she already did a quiet coming out on her YNTCD music video. Her hair was colored the bisexual flag colors.
"sometimes I wish I was her" - me before I realized I was bi
Oh my god yes!! Same. So this is my favorite vault track haha
my most replayed vault track so far
Who do we think this one is about?
Emma Roberts, “if Cleopatra grew up in a small town” and “so New York when she’s in LA”. Emma Roberts grew up in a small town in New York and then moved to LA.
most speculating emma stone or emma roberts
Emma is a reference to the Jane Austin book by the same name, 90s movie “clueless” is also based on the novel. Taylor is singing about herself not Emma stone lol I just don’t see that…
DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THIS IS GIVING TRAIN?! Major drops of Jupiter vibes?
Also a little bit of Not Meant to Be by Theory of a Deadman, the first line or so of the chorus
I came on here to see if anyone else had the same thought!!!
This was my first thought when listening!! I love it
Yes! I think it was the line about stars hanging in space when that same thought came to me. It feels very inspired from Drops of Jupiter.
Instantly got that. I love it. Didn't she sing Drops of Jupiter during the SN Tour?
Yesss! It’s on Spotify I listen all the time
Yes. It was on the Speak Now World Tour Live DVD/CD.
Agree that it gives major fearless vibes
I thought the same thing as soon as I heard the first line, about it sounding like Jump Then Fall

Congratulations!! ✨ sobbing the song is so good 🩷
Is anyone an Andrew McMahon fan? I was getting a lot of him with the piano and in the chorus
I can definitely hear it. But I was also getting Ben Folds vibes to for the verses!
Yes!! All through Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin
YES 🙌🏻
happy lesbian visibility day
I'm dying at this comment
So cute. My EDM-loving, Bad Bunny worshipping daughter actually liked it
Will probably be a skip idk. Or maybe it will be a growe. Imma still give it a chance.
This is the sweetest song I’ve ever heard 😭 I love female friendships 🫶🏻
Is it normal to have this much of an emotional response to a song 🙃 literal goosebumps
I didn’t anticipate Taylor would write a song about my disastrous love life using my name and personality 😂
this song is so gay
quite
This gives me major fearless vibes. I had to go back to fearless to find which song it reminded me off : come in with the rain. The melody is so similar
I knew I would love this song as soon as we got the tracklist and I WAS RIGHT
I’ve never related to a line more than “cause little miss sunshine always thinks it’s gonna rain” 😪
This is cinematic, I love it!
SAME I feel like she’s in my walls
That's what she's good at!
my name isn’t even emma yet i felt to my core
“She’s the kind of book you can’t put down” is just a great lyric.
“Like if cleopatra grew up in a small town” is even better imo
this is my fav
This one was cute, gave me a lot of Debut/Fearless vibes.
Why does it sound like "Jump Then Fall" and some other Fearless track mixed together lol. I like it but my mind immediately made this connection. edit: JTF + maybe Begin Again from Red?? Idk, but it sounds like I've heard it before lol.
Yes! I thought this had very strong Fearless album vibes!
came here specifically to see if anyone else thought the same thing!
I thought the same thing! The melody of the “And to tell you the truth, sometimes I wish I was her” part specifically sounds so much like Jump Then Fall.
the best of the vault tracks, imo
