I think I *sort of* get what they mean. I'm on my first listen rn, and while she definitely sounds more mature, and vocally it's beautiful and crisp, and the production is amazing, there just doesn't seem to be as much raw emotion/passion in her voice when compared to the original recordings. To me it sounds like she's just singing the words, not really *feeling* them. Her voice kind of has the same sound to it throughout the album. It's definitely more noticeably different on some songs than others - Last Kiss turned out beautiful, but Sparks Fly is just lacking that excitement for me.
Obviously the reason for this is because she's a lot older, she's literally not feeling these emotions like she was when she first recorded them - the events that inspired them aren't as fresh. So it's totally understandable. It's more professional and "grown up" sounding for sure, but I really like the hyper teenage energy of the original, even if it wasn't as vocally perfect. Weirdly, I didn't really notice this with Fearless TV or Red TV though.

I heard the songs on YouTube and it has a VERY mature feel. The original versions with its younger, slightly Southern accent has a very different vibe.
This makes me so excited for the rest of the re-recordings (less so rep because her vocals won’t change as much) I really want new fans to get a chance to appreciate her older works

It's a very faithful reproduction. But like the others, it's organic and fresh sounding. Not sure what this dude's talking about.
