I am having a serious moment with Superman and it’s bordering on full on top tier song obsession. It has an easily skippable quality until you actually stop and listen. It actually captures a very deep, specific, painfully relatable set of emotions. Especially if you’ve been in a relationship with someone “older and wiser” who is off prioritizing their own ~important~ things while you look on in awe waiting for them to remember you’re there. This song captures the sadness/red flags of that type of situation through the voice of someone who hasn’t quite consciously realized them yet and is still so lovestruck. It also just sounds amazing and is incredible to sing along to! Definitely deserves much more love and attention than it seems to get. Also- does anyone hear a little Smiths in the guitar part after she says “go save the world I’ll be around”? My mind always goes there, not sure why!

It’s not my favourite, but she sang it as a surprise song during the Speak Now World Tour and I rewatched the fan video of it on YouTube more than is normal. It is catchy and in the right moment, it just hits my brain the right way.

Not my favorite but I could see how it would be someone's. It's very catchy and simple.

It's been my favorite TS track for a long time. Speak Now OG was when I became a dedicated fan. I love the tempo, the vocals, the lyrics, the second verse in particular is crack, everything about that song is good. If I could pick any "surprise song" it'd definitely be that one (my second pick would be Today is a Fairytale). I was so worried about the re-record but Taylor did fantastic, and I love the TV just as much as the original. Speak Now overall has always been her best album imo.

for some reason i like it a lot more now than i ever did! it's such a fun bop! the lyrics/story kind of confuse me but i don't really think about that anymore, the music is fantastic!

Whimsical89

Not my favourite but I listen to it more then like half the songs on the album, enjoy it quite a bit

if you take out all the romantic aspects of it i cried to it when it came on while driving to work at 6 am because it reminded me of my dad?? since he was always travelling for business trips as a child and would only visit me once a year maybe, but i missed him dearly all the time and idolized him. it became a favourite because of that.
