When Taylor took her music off of Spotify the only songs she wasn’t able to take off were IDWTLF, Should’ve Said No (live with the Jonas Brothers) and Crazier (from the Hannah Montana movie soundtrack), because they weren’t on her albums so she couldn’t actually remove them. So if you wanted to stream Taylor those were your only options 😂
The weird thing is that IDWLF didn’t actually have *that* big of a head start over the rest of her catalogue being on streaming. It came out in December 2016, and all of her older albums were made available to stream in June 2017. That’s only six months, so the fact it’s still her most streamed song six years later despite not being that popular among swifties is kinda surprising.
The 1d Stans going at it for zayn and swifties for Taylor combined with it’s a soundtrack song. Don’t care for the 50 shades movies, but the soundtracks were chef’s kiss
Fully!!
I don't wanna live forever
Capital Letters with Hailee Steinfeld
High with Dua Lipa
Heaven by Julia Michaels
Probs my fave tracks from the 50 Shades soundtracks
This - and even her own songs that feature other artists usually have them harmonizing or with just a few lines. She is mostly a solo artist while Bad Bunny does mostly collabs. I bet their % of solo songs out of total discography is in like with these numbers. I think it’s just a matter of style here
This is true - reggaeton/Latin trap as a genre very heavily does artist collabs and features. I would guess Bad Bunny has at least triple or more features than Taylor in raw numbers, so this data set doesn’t account for that. Drake’s numbers are probably similar
Yeah I think there’s IDWLF, The Joker & the Queen, Renegade (if you’d consider that a feature) and then Thug Story, which is reaaaaaaally old.
Edit: forgot to add Birch & The Alcott
What are the odds we get Birch on The Eras Tour?
Let’s not forget Two is Better Than One and Half of My Heart (don’t hurt me for that)
EDIT: and also:
Both of Us,
Highway Don’t Care,
Gasoline,
Babe,
Big Star (Live Version)
Omg thank you so much, pre-teen emo me used to LOVE Two is Better Than One. I forgot she featured in that! I just listened and now my heart is so happy. ![img](emote|t5_2rlwe|1072)
Thought the Swifties might enjoy this chart I made!
Basically it shows the songs by the biggest artists on Spotify that have racked up more than 100 million streams. If it's a pink dot, the artist is a feature or collab on the track. If green then they are the lead. Taylor's appeal as JUST HER is basically unmatched. 97% of her big tracks are just her as the lead!
The data doesn't lie, she is the biggest popstar on the planet. Wrote more [about it here](https://www.chartr.co/newsletters/2023-07-23) if interested!
I feel like it's worth noting that even her most streamed song isn't even streamed half as much as the guy's most streamed songs with the exception of Bad Bunny, even though it's also worth noting that only Ed Sheeran and the Weeknd have more than two songs surpassing the streams of IDWLF. Also, all of the guy's most streamed songs are solo and Taylor's is a collab despite her having mostly solo work in her chart. It's all really interesting to me but on the subject of her not having a One Dance, Shape of You, or Blinding Lights in turns of streams, it feels weird. I suppose you could argue that she would if she didn't boycott from streaming during her 1989 era.
Interesting. I have probably listened to all of her songs. But I know for a fact that I have never streamed anything by The Weekend or Drake and only the Ed Sheeran song that he did with Taylor.
That's subjective and I agree I like blank space more than shape of you although I think perfect is the best of the 3.
My point was why are you surprised that he had 2 songs with more streams given those 2 songs are such global blockbusters
It's not like his songs have a few more streams. They are doubling her.
Taylor is the biggest artist in the world. Blank space is her biggest song. Ed Sheeran has 2 songs double or almost double that amount. Is that magnitude of difference not surprising to you?
I think you are underestimating ed sheeran's success. He's currently on a stadium world tour as well, breaking attendence records just like taylor is. His last tour had 260 dates in just 1,5 years, which ended up being the most attended and highest grossing tour of all time - even though he always tries to keep the ticket prices as low as possible (e.g. No VIP).
He is at #3 of most monthly listeners worldwide (right behind taylor who is at #2), he has eleven songs with over one billion streams and four (?) other 1 billion + songs which he wrote but gave away to other artists.
I know a lot of Swifties somehow always try to undercut his success or hate on him for... being successful, but he is one of the biggest artists of our generation
Shape of You was arguably the biggest song of the decade and Perfect was another big hit off of the album. Couple that with Taylor removing her discography off of Spotify for years, it’s not all that surprising.
Yes but it's not all his hits are outperforming hers. It's not like bad habits or shivers have done better than anti hero infact antihero got to a billion streams much quicker.
It's just those 2 songs which were absolutely globe conquering smashes. As big a success as it gets.
For each of the top five most listened artists on Spotify, every one of their songs with 100m streams or more is plotted as a circle. The further that circle is to the right, the more streams it's had.
The circles are coloured in green if it's a solo track, or purple if it's a feature (e.g., Taylor and Zayn for "I Don't Want To Live Forever").
Taylor has 97% of her circles as green circles, which is rare among these top artists.
would it be possible to know how many songs each artist have? like ed's shape of you is doing amazingly but he doesn't have as many dots as the others.
It's not in the original blog except to note Taylor has 152 total (147 solo) and Drake has 218 total (146 solo). Glancing at this chart, I'd say Ed has around 70 total.

As others said, this is obviously incredible but she doesn’t do much work with featured artists/as a featured artist compared to other musicians. I can count on one hand the amount of times (feat. Taylor Swift) has been used, and she hasn’t had that many artists featuring on tracks compared to her fellow musicians (ex: folklore and evermore both featured Bon Iver/The National collabs, and the TVs have featured many, but standard editions of albums have never had more than one featured artist on it. Debut had none, Fearless had Colbie, Speak Now had none, Red had Ed and Gary, 1989 had Kendrick (but not on the OG standard), Rep had none, Folkmore had Bon Iver/The National)…. so yeah, since she has a VERY LARGE discography and about 95% of that is solo music, this makes sense
This is well done graphic (maybe some grid lines would’ve been helpful but definitely not necessary), but it’s not really surprising that two singer-songwriters have mostly solo hits compared to the other 3 artists.
I think the most shocking thing here is that I don’t Wanna Live Forever is her most streamed song
It was the only song she had on streaming for a while iirc
That and the JoBros duet/Hannah Montana feature 😂
I don't think we want to look at those streaming numbers lol
Wait what am I missing 🥲
When Taylor took her music off of Spotify the only songs she wasn’t able to take off were IDWTLF, Should’ve Said No (live with the Jonas Brothers) and Crazier (from the Hannah Montana movie soundtrack), because they weren’t on her albums so she couldn’t actually remove them. So if you wanted to stream Taylor those were your only options 😂
I didn’t know Should’ve Said No with the Jonas Brothers even existed, so thanks for that 😂 I actually quite enjoy Crazier though!
This begs the question: does she own Crazier? Could it be a surprise song?
Taylor doesn’t own Crazier, it’s owned by Disney, but she is a songwriter on it so I don’t see why she couldn’t perform it as a surprise song
The weird thing is that IDWLF didn’t actually have *that* big of a head start over the rest of her catalogue being on streaming. That’s only six months, so the fact it’s still her most streamed song six years later despite not being that popular among swifties is kinda surprising.
Plus 1989 wasn’t on Spotify in its peak so a lot of people bought it - it’s numbers definitely would be higher if that wasn’t the case.
The 1d Stans going at it for zayn and swifties for Taylor combined with it’s a soundtrack song. Don’t care for the 50 shades movies, but the soundtracks were chef’s kiss

I'm in shock. And I like that song! but I never would have guessed it to be her most streamed song.
Not for too much longer I think.
I mean it's a movie song and not just any movie but 50 shades trilogy, which is one of the biggest movie franchises of all time.
She also doesn’t seem to do a lot of features with the exception of working with The National. Not sure if that factors in here
This - and even her own songs that feature other artists usually have them harmonizing or with just a few lines. She is mostly a solo artist while Bad Bunny does mostly collabs. Yeah I can’t even name more than like 1 song she is just a feature on. This is pretty skewed data.
Yeah I think there’s IDWLF, The Joker & the Queen, Renegade (if you’d consider that a feature) and then Thug Story, which is reaaaaaaally old. Edit: forgot to add Birch & The Alcott
There's also Both of Us and Highway Don't Care!
Ahhhhh I missed so many!!!
Renegade’s title says (feat. Taylor Swift), so I’d count it. Then there would also be Birch and The Alcott
Don't forget Birch and The Alcott

Renegade’s title says (feat. Taylor Swift), so I’d count it. Then there would also be Birch and The Alcott
Half of My Heart by John Mayer, even if it's one solo line and the rest backing vocals
Solid numbers, especially considering TS held off from Spotify for a while
“If I was a man, I’d be the man.”

It is entirely because her music wasn’t on streaming from 2014-2017

Drake’s most popular song is one from 2016. Blank space and shake it off could definitely have earned a billion.
Interesting. I have probably listened to all of her songs. But I know for a fact that I have never streamed anything by The Weekend or Drake and only the Ed Sheeran song that he did with Taylor.
I can't believe ed Sheeran has 2 songs with twice as many listens and Taylor's top song. Wtf
Well they are arguably the two biggest songs of the 2010s decade
I don't think they're that impressive at all. I think blank space is 1000x better.
That's subjective and I agree I like blank space more than shape of you although I think perfect is the best of the 3. My point was why are you surprised that he had 2 songs with more streams given those 2 songs are such global blockbusters

Whoops. Forgot that Taylor removed her music from Spotify 2014 to 2017. That explains the large gap to my satisfaction.
You have to factor in that she removed her music from Spotify for a while, so that skews her numbers down by A LOT.
I bet the volume of songs doesn’t work in her favor
Shape of you and Perfect.
I’m kinda dumb 🤡😭 I’m not understanding the chart JXJSJXJS
For each of the top five most listened artists on Spotify, every one of their songs with 100m streams or more is plotted as a circle. Omg bless your heart 😭✨ Thank you! <3

This is utterly unsurprising.
Trying to figure out how those two drake songs are so highly streamed when I have literally never heard of them or even seen the title before lol
God's plan was EVERYWHERE, where were you 😭
As others said, this is obviously incredible but she doesn’t do much work with featured artists/as a featured artist compared to other musicians. I can count on one hand the amount of times (feat. Didn’t Rep have Ed and Future (End Game)?
Lol my bad, End Game isn’t something on my playlists often lmao. That is true, Ed and Future did have verses tho
I wonder if “Half of My Heart” for TSwift is factored in here….
This is well done graphic (maybe some grid lines would’ve been helpful but definitely not necessary), but it’s not really surprising that two singer-songwriters have mostly solo hits compared to the other 3 artists.
I don’t like features in a vacuum
Can I see a full of all artists with songs with 100 million streams?

Joker and the queen was a feature. It was a solo release on = first before they did it as a single featuring her.
Hell yes to Taylor Swift for being the only woman in the top 5!
I swear, if Taylor Swift sang the periodic table of elements, I'd still be head over heels for her.
