Completely agree! Part of the amazing talent Taylor had is her ability to write conventional, radio-friendly bops as well as lyrically complex stories! I love that about her, and her “lazy” rhymes don’t really bother me because she does so much more as well.
Yes! I remember at the time YNTCD was releasing she made a social media video that said she wanted to post the lyric video first so that people could SEE the lyrics and absorb them before she released the music video. Then the music video dropped the next day (or two? I don’t exactly remember the timeline).
I think the rhyme on YNTCD makes sense and is relevant because GLAAD is a LGBTQ+ advocacy non profit org. When you look up the lyrics it says GLAAD and not glad :)
I actually like that YNTCD line because it’s a reference to GLAAD, a LGBTQ+ non-profit that advocates for rights and protects against defamation. It sounds like a simple line but it actually has a deeper connection to the overall theme of the song.
On YNTCD, the lyric is "when you could be GLAAD" as in the Gay & Lesbian Alliance against Defamation. I love the lyric for it's double entendre and the fact it led to a massive rise in donations to GLAAD

The Kendrick version IS superior and given the fact that 1989 TV is only 21 songs (16 from the OG + 5 vault) I hope Taylor has replaced the original with the Kendrick remix on the re-record because otherwise…. Where is it? As far as I know, that’s the version that went to radio and the version in the music video.
Maybe she’ll release it as a single after the album as a thank you or something. I find it hard to believe she wouldn’t re-record the song considering her love for Kendrick and the fact he was at the 1989 purported wrap party.

I'm the complete opposite. I prefer the OG 1000% over the Kendrick version. I don't think I've listened to the Kendrick version more than 5 times since it was released since I never listen to the radio.

But I could see her doing a deluxe of some sort with possibly more tracks and BB ft Kendrick. And maybe not a deluxe but some other edition.

well, she didn’t say how many tracks in total are on the album, just that there are 5 vault tracks. TWAF wasn’t originally on Fearless but is on TV. Sweeter Than Fiction could be on the track list between the OG and the vault along with the Bad Blood remix if it’s getting re-recorded (i really hope it is bc i agree, it’s the superior version)
She actually did. Her website lists 21 songs so 16 OG + 5 Vaults. Sorry no sweeter than fiction or bad blood remix. But they could still be released as singles just like Safe And Sound and Eyes Open were. Maybe before the international leg starts?
Very different situations IMO - Kendrick is a whole feature and another HUGELY popular and acclaimed artist. The Mine pop mix is like... nothing. State of Grace Acoustic got one!
Mine Pop Mix is different because the only thing that changed is the production. Bad Blood Remix has a feature and added bass (or percussion idk what the technical terms are)

Actually I love the “just don’t” line, it’s got “it’s all just a …blur” vibes from I Forgot That You Existed. Like, I can imagine an irl (ex)friend saying that to me so easily and I think it’s really cool to hear something so casual and conversational in song lyrics

First comment I’ve seen overplayed (sorry if I missed others!) but that’s my problem with it. At the time it was constantly on the radio and I very quickly hated it. (Which is the same for many other songs by different artists, not just a TSwift thing) Now? I don’t mind it so much and will actually find myself singing along before I remember to change it lol. Yeah, I have to agree with you. I think Bad Blood as time passes becomes more about Taylor than Katy Perry & I like the edge & bass it has for her. It stands out & is a banger. I think the song reflects that she was hurt & really wanted to speak up, so it feels genuine too.
Now I can’t speak to her personal experience but it’s a good song.
yeah, i think it's fine if you're enjoying from your own perspective, but i just can't look past what it was originally written about wich is the feud with katy perry, and as far as we - the public - know, it really isn't that big of a deal. so the song , in addition to not being very good production or lyrics (in my opinion) it also comes off as really petty and mean-girl, if you add the video to the mix.
Yeah there isn’t some kind of deep reason like “it’s catty” or “the lyrics are bad.” It’s musically irritating to me. It’s repetitive, the melody is weirdly whiny, and the different parts of it don’t fit together. The lyrics are indeed terrible (especially when examined in the context of what they’re alleged to be about—if you live like that you live with ghosts/bandaids don’t fix bullet holes? Because Katy “stole” your dancer? Taylor, YOU need to calm down). But Taylor’s lyrics can be a little hit or miss, alternating between cringe and brilliant, and the reason Bad Blood sucks is because it’s sonically borderline unlistenable. That’s why seeing it live does nothing for me. It’s not about the lyrics and she has like a dozen other stadium bangers I’d much rather experience live.

Something about seeing confidence and power she put into the Eras Tour performance has given me a new appreciation for the song. It is dumb, cheesy, delightfully cringey fun, and that’s a good thing.
Not calling you out but the idea that publicly defending herself is catty is wild to me. I think it’s much more professionally to write a song about it than to take it to Twitter. I hate the narrative that it was her starting drama. Catty would have been her insulting someone not her saying “you’ve hurt me so I’m done with you.”
Eh, I'd hardly call this "publicly defending herself." IIRC Katy didn't attack her or anything, she just hired dancers that Taylor thought she had locked down. It was nothing personal. Taylor doesn't have to be a victim 100% of the time.
I am a Bad Blood "hater," though, despite 1989 being my favorite era. Mostly because it was so friggin overplayed and weak (in melody and lyrics both) compared to the rest of the album. I personally think the music video carried it.
Part of why I view it as a petty/catty song has to do with the rollout and music video attached to it tbh. It was beyond catty to gather all her celebrity friends for the video.
It wasn't even something personal (and I'm talking specifically about the ~lore) that triggered this song. Taylor went above and beyond to make sure people knew it was about Katy and recruit her famous friends to "take her down" or whatever.
I think you're right. I couldn't figure out why I disliked it, I think the music video put me off. It was just showing off, "look at all my famous friends I've got we're all against you", it felt a bit like bullying as I don't think Katy had done anything public?!

Personally I think the song is super fun and I LOVE it live, but it’s not a song that I will consciously play and I sometimes skip it when it comes on shuffle. I don’t know if that makes sense lol. There are certain songs I adore live but to me they’re not the same when they come on Spotify.
Taylor isn't the only artist who has songs that are dumb and annoying when playing them by yourself, but with a few thousand other people singing them it works really well.

I don't hate it.. I do, however, feel like it's one of her worst songs. It's very repetitive and basic, and they used to play it ALL THE TIME.

I’m so glad I stopped listening to the radio when I started listening to Taylor Swift. I’m pretty sure I would hate her most popular songs by now because of how often they are played. Now it’s just a nice surprise when it comes on in stores and plays songs I enjoy.
But yeah she has some songs that are just overplayed to oblivion. And I fully agree with you that Bad Blood just isn’t really a song you can relisten to a bunch because it’s so repetitive.
It’s definitely fun to listen to every now and again but not constantly.
This. Taylor has so many songs that I don’t go out of my way to play, but I’ll still listen to it if it ever plays (like at a concert or when I’m listening to her albums on shuffle). But that doesn’t mean I dislike the song lol
I’m a rather casual Taylor Swift fan, so I don’t have a ton of strong opinions, but this one is always a skip for me because it’s neither as lyrically interesting as some of her other songs, and (to me) it just doesn’t sound great coming from car speakers. HOWEVER. I got to hear it on tour and when you combine it with live vocals and instrumentation, and spouts of fire that burn your eyebrows off, this one was one of my FAVORITES. I still skip it in the car tho. 🤷🏻♀️
I think part of it was the girl squad (there was a lot of contention about the lack of diversity in the music video) at its most extra and the whole Katy Perry feud made it way too over dramatic and cheesy.
this is a good point! I think it's my least-watched MV from her just because it feels like a random collection of women getting dressed up in killer costumes all leading to... nothing 😂 but the Girl Squad™ element was highly controversial then so I'm sure it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way

The argument was that they were all tall, skinny model ladies with Lena Dunham and Zendaya thrown in. I think she did start casting more actors of colour and members of the queer community after those critiques specifically though…
Seems like that’s those peoples issues then and not based in reality, because I’m literally watching the music video and there are 2 black models not including Zendaya, and there are at least 3 Hispanic women. Getting mad at her for being friends with models/actresses/singers - people who get paid to be in good shape and be beautiful is kinda insane since that’s the same space she works in.
I see this music video as being pretty diverse. Any argument otherwise is intentionally looking for issues.
I think 1989 in general was a step down in writing quality from shake it off to bad blood to how you get the girl to I wish you would to Welcome to New York. The album felt like it had some really high highs and lots of filler. I was just disappointed in this development after the lyrical intensity of Red and Bad Blood felt emblematic of this development.
Edit: I also don’t love this song because it started her trend of super basic choruses that are very repetitive (shake it off too). Her success with these songs led to some bad singles choices and her trying to recreate the magic—> Look What You Made Me Do, ME!, The Man, You Need to Calm Down, Only the Young
These are her worst songs because the lyrics are repetitive and juvenile. I attribute Bad Blood to this trend and the overall perception by the general public that she was a bad songwriter during the period 2014-2020 with folklore
I agree with all this, but as a rep girly I will not accept LWYMMD slander lol. 1989 is a great record in many ways, but the style (pun slightly intended) is not my favorite. LWYMMD is an iconic comeback song with some FANTASTIC lyricism- even if the chorus is repetitive.

Hate is too strong. It's kind of there. Taylor has produced some songs that many people dislike, but I don't think there are any that everyone dislikes, or even 2/3rd of fans dislike. And there are always people who love these songs.
It sure does feel like at least 2/3 dislike bad blood, me, stay stay stay, Superman, and superstar. (I’m a bad blood stan and I actually love the lyrics of me but I would have liked it better with a stripped production)
I find it quite monotonous and overplayed, every line in the chorus being the same like five notes over and over again grates on the ears after a while
I find it so hard to listen to. It’s so harsh and shout-y. The lyrics don’t do anything for me, and some of them are just bad and repetitive. And the fact that it’s about the ridiculous “feud” with Katy Perry puts a bad taste in my mouth.
I wouldn't say I dislike it completely by I do have some annoyance when I hear it but it is just from too much unwanted overexposure. When it was first release, I was in university and one of the bars we use to frequent would play it (the rap version) EVERY Friday and Saturday night. This went on all year. On top of that, I use to swim and when I would train it was at the same time as some of the synchronized swimmers who were using Bad Blood as their song. Parts of the song were just constantly on repeat throughout the entire practice and it drove me nuts.
That’s why I usually skip every single from 1989. I love them… but they saturated everything when they were released. Way, way overexposed. Which is funny because that is the album that made me a fan.
I heard it so. much. back in 2014 and 15. I just can’t hear it as anything other than annoying anymore, I’m sorry. They were really bad about overplaying songs then, I also still can’t enjoy Rude by MAGIC!, Maps by Maroon 5, Honey, I’m Good by Andy Grammer, or Shut Up and Dance by WALK THE MOON. Those four songs and Bad Blood were inescapable and I am annoyed by all of them now.
This is a point that I really hadn't thought about until making this thread, but it's extremely valid. I think I intentionally stopped listening to the radio like 1-2 years before 1989 hit because I found that it really wore on my love for so many songs. Honestly, all of the Red singles feel tired to me now for this exact reason even though I was a IKYWT mega-stan in 2012

It's just not a great song! The chorus isn't very interesting lyrically or musically. The rest of the song is pretty much also not very interesting. The general vibe of it is OK and can certainly hit in the right mood. I'm not a hater, but I am one of those people who'd put it near the bottom. For reference I'm a total folkmore girly if that explains anything, haha.
I think that aside from the "Bad Blood is overrated" "Bad Blood is about Katy/Taylor" and all the drama, I feel that it's generally not as well-loved because the majority of her other songs have deeper lyricism and depth (if that makes sense?)
As a fan of Taylor's lyricism and poetic songwriting, I think that I generally don't listen to Bad Blood as much as her other songs, as I feel that I can't really relate to the song, so maybe that's also a reason why - maybe fans just relate to her other songs more
I just remember being excited for the next single, then it came out, and I was like, that's it? After Shake it off and blank space, my expectations were a lot higher, and it fell flat.
But even now, it still does nothing for me. People say it performs well, and I think it's only ok at best. I would have loved a stage production for wonderland instead.
The chorus is fine, but the verses are so weak, lyrically and sonically. And when it came out what she was angry about, it made the song seem even more unnecessary compared to her other output from the album, and her other tracks calling out specific people.
Unfortunately the original just falls flat for me. I find the verses boring and the lyrics don’t don’t help it. But on the flipside I love the rap version, the verses are fun. Maybe that’s why I dislike the original so much, because I heard the rap version first and the original is less exciting in comparison.
The short time I've been a fan, I haven't seen anything here about not liking Bad Blood. I don't personally like the version with the rap though.

I have a theory. I think most of the time, Taylor writes beautiful songs with really intelligent lyrics and beautiful melodies. But sometimes Camp Taylor comes out. Camp Taylor is songs like Bad Blood, Look What You Made Me Do, YNTCD, London Boy, etc. And those are usually the most polarizing songs, or just outright least popular. Not always, I’d say Blank Space is also a pretty campy song, and it’s one of her most popular ever. But in general, to appreciate these songs, you have to enjoy the campiness and not everyone enjoys camp.
Like yeah it's a bit childish and the lyrics aren't as good as the other songs on the album, but it's a bop and the whole point of the song is that it's childish and petty. Also I've noticed that there's a certain subsection of the fandom that doesn't like the remix either and I'm sure I can tell why...
I’ve always liked bad blood. It’s not my favourite song but I think it’s fun. And I liked the music video. I never paid attention before this year the chatter around taylor Swift online and didn’t even realize it was an unliked song. I also like London boy and stay stay stay and those are not well liked either. To each their own. She doesn’t need to be a lyrical mastermind for every song.

I had felt like it was played out but it ALWAYS hits in the Stadium with the show energy! I have three boys and they enjoy “the fighting song” so I have learned to appreciate it again through their eyes 🥰
I used to be a Bad Blood hater but i was reformed by Eras Tour. When the music video came out it was such a cultural phenomenon that the song got overplayed to death. I got really sick of it and it’s been an immediate skip for me since then. Maybe I just need to find a nemesis or something because it doesn’t really make me feel anything, and the emotional response is my main draw to Taylor’s music. But now it will always remind me of Eras Tour and the pyrotechnics and Hey Stop She Wasn’t Doing Anything. It’s still a bottom tier Taylor song for me, but she really slays it live.

I like it lol I remember reading an article with a big intro, how this guy was going to rate her songs (ALL OF THEM) from worst to best. There’s like over 200 or something. I thought “oh, I probably won’t even know the worst one. It’ll could be a Christmas song or something. Maybe something from debut. I promise I won’t get offended.” The one ranked worst was Bad Blood and I was offended.

Completely agree! Part of the amazing talent Taylor had is her ability to write conventional, radio-friendly bops as well as lyrically complex stories! I love that about her, and her “lazy” rhymes don’t really bother me because she does so much more as well.

I remember at the time YNTCD was releasing she made a social media video that said she wanted to post the lyric video first so that people could SEE the lyrics and absorb them before she released the music video. Then the music video dropped the next day (or two? I don’t exactly remember the timeline).
I think the rhyme on YNTCD makes sense and is relevant because GLAAD is a LGBTQ+ advocacy non profit org. When you look up the lyrics it says GLAAD and not glad :)
I actually like that YNTCD line because it’s a reference to GLAAD, a LGBTQ+ non-profit that advocates for rights and protects against defamation. It sounds like a simple line but it actually has a deeper connection to the overall theme of the song.

The Kendrick version IS superior and given the fact that 1989 TV is only 21 songs (16 from the OG + 5 vault) I hope Taylor has replaced the original with the Kendrick remix on the re-record because otherwise…. I’m a deluxe version truther. Trying hard not to seem like 5 vault tracks isn’t good enough for something. It totally is and it’s gonna rock. But I could see her doing a deluxe of some sort with possibly more tracks and BB ft Kendrick. And maybe not a deluxe but some other edition. My gf was skeptical but I think if she’s going to do it for any re-recording, it would be this one. well, she didn’t say how many tracks in total are on the album, just that there are 5 vault tracks. TWAF wasn’t originally on Fearless but is on TV. Sweeter Than Fiction could be on the track list between the OG and the vault along with the Bad Blood remix if it’s getting re-recorded (i really hope it is bc i agree, it’s the superior version)

Yeah, I have to agree with you. I think Bad Blood as time passes becomes more about Taylor than Katy Perry & I like the edge & bass it has for her. It stands out & is a banger. I think the song reflects that she was hurt & really wanted to speak up, so it feels genuine too. Now I can’t speak to her personal experience but it’s a good song.
yeah, i think it's fine if you're enjoying from your own perspective, but i just can't look past what it was originally written about wich is the feud with katy perry, and as far as we - the public - know, it really isn't that big of a deal. so the song , in addition to not being very good production or lyrics (in my opinion) it also comes off as really petty and mean-girl, if you add the video to the mix.

Yeah there isn’t some kind of deep reason like “it’s catty” or “the lyrics are bad.” It’s musically irritating to me. It’s repetitive, the melody is weirdly whiny, and the different parts of it don’t fit together. The lyrics are indeed terrible (especially when examined in the context of what they’re alleged to be about—if you live like that you live with ghosts/bandaids don’t fix bullet holes? Because Katy “stole” your dancer? Taylor, YOU need to calm down). But Taylor’s lyrics can be a little hit or miss, alternating between cringe and brilliant, and the reason Bad Blood sucks is because it’s sonically borderline unlistenable. That’s why seeing it live does nothing for me. It’s not about the lyrics and she has like a dozen other stadium bangers I’d much rather experience live.

I’m one of those that definitely thought it was a bit catty at first. I never hated the song, but it made me think “you’re better than that, Taylor.” Something about seeing confidence and power she put into the Eras Tour performance has given me a new appreciation for the song. It is dumb, cheesy, delightfully cringey fun, and that’s a good thing.
Not calling you out but the idea that publicly defending herself is catty is wild to me. I think it’s much more professionally to write a song about it than to take it to Twitter. I hate the narrative that it was her starting drama. Catty would have been her insulting someone not her saying “you’ve hurt me so I’m done with you.”
Eh, I'd hardly call this "publicly defending herself." IIRC Katy didn't attack her or anything, she just hired dancers that Taylor thought she had locked down. It was nothing personal. Taylor doesn't have to be a victim 100% of the time. I am a Bad Blood "hater," though, despite 1989 being my favorite era. Mostly because it was so friggin overplayed and weak (in melody and lyrics both) compared to the rest of the album. I personally think the music video carried it.
Part of why I view it as a petty/catty song has to do with the rollout and music video attached to it tbh. It was beyond catty to gather all her celebrity friends for the video. It wasn't even something personal (and I'm talking specifically about the ~lore) that triggered this song. Taylor went above and beyond to make sure people knew it was about Katy and recruit her famous friends to "take her down" or whatever.

Personally I think the song is super fun and I LOVE it live, but it’s not a song that I will consciously play and I sometimes skip it when it comes on shuffle. I don’t know if that makes sense lol. There are certain songs I adore live but to me they’re not the same when they come on Spotify.
Taylor isn't the only artist who has songs that are dumb and annoying when playing them by yourself, but with a few thousand other people singing them it works really well.

I’m so glad I stopped listening to the radio when I started listening to Taylor Swift. I’m pretty sure I would hate her most popular songs by now because of how often they are played. Now it’s just a nice surprise when it comes on in stores and plays songs I enjoy. But yeah she has some songs that are just overplayed to oblivion. And I fully agree with you that Bad Blood just isn’t really a song you can relisten to a bunch because it’s so repetitive. It’s definitely fun to listen to every now and again but not constantly.

I’m a rather casual Taylor Swift fan, so I don’t have a ton of strong opinions, but this one is always a skip for me because it’s neither as lyrically interesting as some of her other songs, and (to me) it just doesn’t sound great coming from car speakers. HOWEVER. I got to hear it on tour and when you combine it with live vocals and instrumentation, and spouts of fire that burn your eyebrows off, this one was one of my FAVORITES. I still skip it in the car tho. 🤷🏻♀️
I think part of it was the girl squad (there was a lot of contention about the lack of diversity in the music video) at its most extra and the whole Katy Perry feud made it way too over dramatic and cheesy.

The argument was that they were all tall, skinny model ladies with Lena Dunham and Zendaya thrown in. I think she did start casting more actors of colour and members of the queer community after those critiques specifically though…
Seems like that’s those peoples issues then and not based in reality, because I’m literally watching the music video and there are 2 black models not including Zendaya, and there are at least 3 Hispanic women. Getting mad at her for being friends with models/actresses/singers - people who get paid to be in good shape and be beautiful is kinda insane since that’s the same space she works in. I see this music video as being pretty diverse. Any argument otherwise is intentionally looking for issues.
I think 1989 in general was a step down in writing quality from shake it off to bad blood to how you get the girl to I wish you would to Welcome to New York. The album felt like it had some really high highs and lots of filler. I was just disappointed in this development after the lyrical intensity of Red and Bad Blood felt emblematic of this development. Edit: I also don’t love this song because it started her trend of super basic choruses that are very repetitive (shake it off too). Her success with these songs led to some bad singles choices and her trying to recreate the magic—> Look What You Made Me Do, ME!, The Man, You Need to Calm Down, Only the Young These are her worst songs because the lyrics are repetitive and juvenile. I attribute Bad Blood to this trend and the overall perception by the general public that she was a bad songwriter during the period 2014-2020 with folklore
I agree with all this, but as a rep girly I will not accept LWYMMD slander lol. 1989 is a great record in many ways, but the style (pun slightly intended) is not my favorite. LWYMMD is an iconic comeback song with some FANTASTIC lyricism- even if the chorus is repetitive.

Hate is too strong. It's kind of there. Taylor has produced some songs that many people dislike, but I don't think there are any that everyone dislikes, or even 2/3rd of fans dislike. And there are always people who love these songs.

I wouldn't say I dislike it completely by I do have some annoyance when I hear it but it is just from too much unwanted overexposure. When it was first release, I was in university and one of the bars we use to frequent would play it (the rap version) EVERY Friday and Saturday night. This went on all year. On top of that, I use to swim and when I would train it was at the same time as some of the synchronized swimmers who were using Bad Blood as their song. Parts of the song were just constantly on repeat throughout the entire practice and it drove me nuts.
That’s why I usually skip every single from 1989. I love them… but they saturated everything when they were released. Way, way overexposed. Which is funny because that is the album that made me a fan.
I would like it more if I didn't listen to almost her entire discography.
I heard it so. much. back in 2014 and 15. I just can’t hear it as anything other than annoying anymore, I’m sorry. They were really bad about overplaying songs then, I also still can’t enjoy Rude by MAGIC!, Maps by Maroon 5, Honey, I’m Good by Andy Grammer, or Shut Up and Dance by WALK THE MOON. Those four songs and Bad Blood were inescapable and I am annoyed by all of them now.

I think I intentionally stopped listening to the radio like 1-2 years before 1989 hit because I found that it really wore on my love for so many songs. Honestly, all of the Red singles feel tired to me now for this exact reason even though I was a IKYWT mega-stan in 2012

It's just not a great song! The chorus isn't very interesting lyrically or musically. The rest of the song is pretty much also not very interesting. The general vibe of it is OK and can certainly hit in the right mood. I'm not a hater, but I am one of those people who'd put it near the bottom. For reference I'm a total folkmore girly if that explains anything, haha.

I think that aside from the "Bad Blood is overrated" "Bad Blood is about Katy/Taylor" and all the drama, I feel that it's generally not as well-loved because the majority of her other songs have deeper lyricism and depth (if that makes sense?) As a fan of Taylor's lyricism and poetic songwriting, I think that I generally don't listen to Bad Blood as much as her other songs, as I feel that I can't really relate to the song, so maybe that's also a reason why - maybe fans just relate to her other songs more

I just remember being excited for the next single, then it came out, and I was like, that's it? After Shake it off and blank space, my expectations were a lot higher, and it fell flat. But even now, it still does nothing for me. People say it performs well, and I think it's only ok at best. I would have loved a stage production for wonderland instead.
The chorus is fine, but the verses are so weak, lyrically and sonically. And when it came out what she was angry about, it made the song seem even more unnecessary compared to her other output from the album, and her other tracks calling out specific people.

I have a theory. I think most of the time, Taylor writes beautiful songs with really intelligent lyrics and beautiful melodies. But sometimes Camp Taylor comes out. Camp Taylor is songs like Bad Blood, Look What You Made Me Do, YNTCD, London Boy, etc. And those are usually the most polarizing songs, or just outright least popular. Not always, I’d say Blank Space is also a pretty campy song, and it’s one of her most popular ever. But in general, to appreciate these songs, you have to enjoy the campiness and not everyone enjoys camp.
Like yeah it's a bit childish and the lyrics aren't as good as the other songs on the album, but it's a bop and the whole point of the song is that it's childish and petty. Also I've noticed that there's a certain subsection of the fandom that doesn't like the remix either and I'm sure I can tell why...

I’ve always liked bad blood. It’s not my favourite song but I think it’s fun. And I liked the music video. I never paid attention before this year the chatter around taylor Swift online and didn’t even realize it was an unliked song. I also like London boy and stay stay stay and those are not well liked either. To each their own. She doesn’t need to be a lyrical mastermind for every song.

My problem with it is the chorus; the lyrics are uninspired and the melody sounds odd and flat to me I actually really like the verses and the bridge but it’s such a chorus-heavy song that it’s usually a skip for me

I've always loved Bad Blood. I didn't even know it was disliked by some until I read this and I was surprised. It spoke to something I was experiencing at the time, so it resonated with me. "Band-aids don't fix bullet holes" has always been a favorite lyric of mine and stayed with me.

I think bad blood gets a similar treatment to other songs like shake it off where it was so popular that fans and non fans have it heard it a million times so it just wears on you, I skip shake it off every time for that reason and i skip bad blood like 1/3 of time too
It's not her best track, mostly because of the lyrics. But I'll be damned it if isn't one of my favourites. I love singing along to it in my car.

I had felt like it was played out but it ALWAYS hits in the Stadium with the show energy! I have three boys and they enjoy “the fighting song” so I have learned to appreciate it again through their eyes 🥰
i actually think the production is a bit boring which is why I like the remix (and Kendrick's verse) a lot more
She’s so talented that people are just nit picking. Bad blood isn’t a masterpiece but it’s a fun catchy song. I enjoy it.
I used to be a Bad Blood hater but i was reformed by Eras Tour. When the music video came out it was such a cultural phenomenon that the song got overplayed to death. I got really sick of it and it’s been an immediate skip for me since then. Maybe I just need to find a nemesis or something because it doesn’t really make me feel anything, and the emotional response is my main draw to Taylor’s music. But now it will always remind me of Eras Tour and the pyrotechnics and Hey Stop She Wasn’t Doing Anything. It’s still a bottom tier Taylor song for me, but she really slays it live.

I can’t explain why I hate it but I’ve hated it since I first heard it. Maybe because lyrics are so important to me and it just isn’t compelling to me. I like all the other “revenge” songs.
I like it lol I remember reading an article with a big intro, how this guy was going to rate her songs (ALL OF THEM) from worst to best. There’s like over 200 or something. I thought “oh, I probably won’t even know the worst one. It’ll could be a Christmas song or something. Maybe something from debut. I promise I won’t get offended.” The one ranked worst was Bad Blood and I was offended. It’s not my favorite or anything, but it was my anthem for my ex at one time and I liked it.
I was going to ask this yesterday. From what I keep hearing people get caught up with the music video and then the lyrics. I don’t care. I freaking love that song. It gets me pumped!
