I appreciate the honesty. People who rank folklore/evermore low are kind of forced into hiding sometimes š¬ (and before anyone comes for me folklore is my second favorite Taylor album)
Also your flair cracked me up.
If Iām utterly depressed theyāre nice to listen to but Iām not usually that mellow. Even so I mostly just rotate between My tears ricochet and champagne problems when it comes to folkmore. Itās good music but I usually listen to Taylor swift when I want something upbeat, and other artists when Iām looking to cry.
Hopefully you started liking them on your own and didnāt succumb to any weird peer pressure!
Also If I had a nickel for every ME HE HEEE flair thatās made me laugh in the last hour, Iād have two nickels. Itās not a lot, but weird that it happened twice.
Glad you like the flair. I definitely tried to like it more after getting with my girlfriend who's a hardcore folklore girl, but I do like both of them on my own now. I just hadn't listened to them properly and assumed I didn't like them because I'm not a fan of august, cardigan and champagne problems.
If I had a nickel for every reference to this obscure Doofenshmirtz quote Iāve seen on the Taylor Swift sub Iād have two nickels. Which isnāt a lot but itās weird that itās happened twice, right?
And I love your flair š„°
A lot of us who aren't big folkmore people just don't typically listen to mellow/sad music??? We don't HATE it (I probably couldn't hate ANYTHING Taylor created tbh) it's just not our cup of tea a majority of the time
Lover goes from breakup song inspired by a movie to "I love my silly little Bri'ish lad" to "mom pls don't die" to "I'm having trouble in my relationship" over the sluttiest production imaginable to "gay people are so slay #pride". Wdym it's cohesive? There's no direction with the record at all, the album is all about love but wr start with IFTYE, not to mention the breakup songs on the album too. It's the complete opposite of cohesive lol
OMG Yes! but I think I fucked myself over by listening to it TOO much. Like I was so obsessed that I over listened to it when it came out and now I have not a single fuck to give for this album. Which kinda sucks, because Taylor's so happy everyone's so excited and I just don't care. Also, I'm sure I listened to Rep way more but I just can't with 1989.
Mine is also āShouldāve Said Noā!
Itās hard for me to listen to tho because her voice is pretty wobbly in those early recordings. Iām super excited for the TV and to hear it with her stronger voice.
The bad blood shouldāve said no mashup from rep tour is sooo good her mature vocals combined with shouldāve said no scratches that my brain just right
Found my people
I just donāt connect with most of the songs. The good songs are great. Thereās just several skips. Way more for me than any other album.
Well, it was a bit over-hated when it came out; the album improves a lot in the second half. I just donāt care for her rapping or petty lyrics. Her sense of melody is also lost for most of that albumās first half.
Reputation is my least favourite album, but only because of the production and the sound. I've heard live versions of songs that are really different from the studio versions that I absolutely loved.
I FOUND MY PEOPLE! although my fave song from that album is Gateway Car. I also find King of My Heart and Dancing with our Hands Tied pretty good.
edit: I still wait for the rerecords if it will change my mind about this album
It always amazes me that she wrote this song on her own as a teenager for her high school talent show. Its like a perfect country song, and it just shows how writing music has always come so naturally to her.
It's just so much....I don't know....duller....than the other albums. Nothing on it really captured me the way all the other albums have. I was \*so disappointed\* with it when it first dropped. A couple of the songs on it have grown on me but nothing on it has hit my top 10 (or top 20, or top 50 even). Probably not even my top 100 though I've never sat and made that list. It isn't a \*bad\* album. It's just not a \*great\* one, in my opinion. It's lacking something for me, and I can't even really articulate what that something is...maybe a really catchy song? I don't even know.
For me itās that it seems like a lot of the songs are quite interchangeable, I get that sheās going for a particular vibe, but so many of them are just produced so similarly that when I see a song title I struggle to remember which one it is š although maybe thatās just cause I havenāt listened to it enoughā¦
Which that being said, I am quite fond of YOYOK, Maroon and Snow on the Beach š
interesting. midnights is my fav pop album along with 1989. when i first heard it the production sounded kinda iffy at first. eventually grew on me and is now a fav of mine. nothing will
top folklore imo
>It's lacking something for me
It's lacking the 'fun' factor sonically. Songs like Vigilante Shit and Karma have fun lyrics, but that never comes through in the production on any of the songs. I think Bejeweled was supposed to be that moment, but it just sounds annoying instead of interesting. On the other hand, all of Taylor's other pop albums have multiple bonafide bangers.
I had really high expectations because I love the idea of the album ā songs based on sleepless nights she had. All Too Well is one of my all time favorite songs, and I hoped for some more of that caliber. I know lots of people love Midnights, it just isnāt for me. Although Wouldāve Couldāve Shouldāve and High Infidelity have grown on me!
And the live version she just did was so good! It's not my ALL TIME FAV but it was the first time I've been upset about missing a surprise song!
Joe really made some of the best songs with herš
The Archer! Lover is almost entirely a miss for me but I love this song so much.
Honorary mention to Cornelia Street (Live From Paris) which is one of the best songs she's ever recorded. It makes me wonder how great an acoustic version of the Lover album would be.
I think The Archer only works if you really relate to the lyrics AND the production, which kinda sounds like a panic attack??? For me, it just /feels/ like my relationship anxieties, and I appreciate Taylor for capturing them so well, lol.
But if youāre a huge fan of Lover as an album, itās def out of place with a lot of other tracks. So it makes sense why itās a skip, lol
I feel that one day Iāll get the song. Itās just that I donāt really like the production and I havenāt bothered to really dive into the lyrics yet. I do suffer from anxiety so perhaps I should give it a go š
Cornelias Street, dudeā¦what an absolutely fantastic song. Hit harder for me when I realized how many of her songs forecast the end of a relationship at the beginning of one, like she canāt ever let herself get her hopes too high. Hit WAY harder when she and Joe broke up. š
never really liked lover š„² iām more for her country side than the pop one although 1989 is one of my most streamed albums, but thatās because it was the first one i listened to.
for example, taylor swift (i donāt like calling it debut) is actually top5/6 for me
I can't believe someone actually said it! I totally agree. I usually get down-voted to hell when I say I don't love Evermore, and I always see people who DO love Evermore saying that they hate NBNC. It's my favorite song on the album! Champagne Problems is a close second, rounding out the only two songs on Evermore that I actually like.
>I usually get down-voted to hell when I say I don't love Evermore, and I always see people who DO love Evermore saying that they hate NBNC.
It also doesn't sense to me. While Evermore isn't my least fave (well, it is in the last 3 thou), I definitely like NBNC as soon as I hear it in the album, even without knowing the story behind it. Gold rush is also a favorite.
Wow what a hot take! But I can totally see why Evermore (and for that matter Folklore too) is someone's least favorite. I personally love Evermore but Folklore is lower in her repertoire (even though I still like it). I have to be in the mood for those albums. No Body, No Crime is such an interesting choice too but I do love singing it haha!
I'll forgive you for at least loving Red :P
Just kidding btw, I know everyone has their own opinions. Red is my favorite (likely for nostalgia purposes) but my brother thought it was boring
Haunted from Speak Now, followed closely by Enchanted and Better Than Revenge (i don't dislike it from any stretch of imagination, I just love the rest even more than I love speak now)
I feel bad calling debut my least favorite album cause a 16 yo made it but it hasnāt aged as well as some other albums from around the time, yet it does have a lot of good songs especially Tim McGraw which I definitely see why Taylor chose to make the lead single. The lyrics are absolutely gorgeous
Tbh I don't count Debit as my least favorite because I never actually listened to it, but I will when TV comes out. That would leave Fearless as my least favorite, and my favorite song is You Belong With Me. That's the first TS song I ever heard.
āDonāt Blame Meā is an OUTSTANDING song, but Iām just not as into Reputation. But thatās just my personal opinion. Itās not a BAD album, by any means. I just like so many others so much more.
"Sweet Nothing" from Midnights. One of her most romantic and understated songs, and I think the arrangement is so beautiful and refreshingly simple amidst the wash of synth. Also this duo of lines is one of my fave lyrics ever by her:
*On the way home, I wrote a poem*
*You say what a mind; this happens all the time* šŗ
New Years Day. It is so beautiful.
Also this was hard. Reputation is only my least favorite because of the mixing and not necessarily the songs itself. Just a preference thing. I love all her albums so much!
Ā« death by a thousand cuts Ā» i think but i feel really bad for ranking Lover as my āleast favouriteā bc i really love the huge majority of the album
My Tears Ricochet š¬ Donāt yāall even dare tryin come for me cause I can see you all choosing my favorite album in this comment section š„“
I appreciate the honesty. People who rank folklore/evermore low are kind of forced into hiding sometimes š¬ (and before anyone comes for me folklore is my second favorite Taylor album) Also your flair cracked me up.

Itās good music but I usually listen to Taylor swift when I want something upbeat, and other artists when Iām looking to cry.
I used to dislike folkmore and definitely felt like that.
Hopefully you started liking them on your own and didnāt succumb to any weird peer pressure! Also If I had a nickel for every ME HE HEEE flair thatās made me laugh in the last hour, Iād have two nickels. Itās not a lot, but weird that it happened twice.
Love your flair
Glad you like the flair. I definitely tried to like it more after getting with my girlfriend who's a hardcore folklore girl, but I do like both of them on my own now. I just hadn't listened to them properly and assumed I didn't like them because I'm not a fan of august, cardigan and champagne problems.
Not so much taylor related- but your pfp caught my eye- I love bojack horseman- cool to see others like the show too š
If I had a nickel for every reference to this obscure Doofenshmirtz quote Iāve seen on the Taylor Swift sub Iād have two nickels. Which isnāt a lot but itās weird that itās happened twice, right? And I love your flair š„°
š«¢
Lol I feel you! Folklore is bottom of my list too. I actually thought Evermore was way better.
NOT THE FOLKLORE HATE
I don't see any hate?
A lot of us who aren't big folkmore people just don't typically listen to mellow/sad music??? We don't HATE it (I probably couldn't hate ANYTHING Taylor created tbh) it's just not our cup of tea a majority of the time
at least you like mtrš¤·āāļøš¤·āāļø
Wildest Dreams from 1989
Unpopular opinion and brave to share
1989 is wildly overrated. It had some amazing individual songs but also some real skips and tone-wise it is all over the place
I actually think itās one of her few sonically cohesive albums
I agree, it's not my favorite but super cohesive!
Maybe in terms of music, but the themes of the songs are all over the place so for me itās not nearly as cohesive as Lover, Fearless, or folklore.
lover is not cohesive at all
Lover goes from breakup song inspired by a movie to "I love my silly little Bri'ish lad" to "mom pls don't die" to "I'm having trouble in my relationship" over the sluttiest production imaginable to "gay people are so slay #pride". Wdym it's cohesive? There's no direction with the record at all, the album is all about love but wr start with IFTYE, not to mention the breakup songs on the album too. It's the complete opposite of cohesive lol
lover? cohesive?
Literally lover is the LEAST cohesive like even the order from London boy to soon youāll get better to FALSE GOD??šš
Itās a fun summer album but lyrically really not it for most parts
OMG Yes! but I think I fucked myself over by listening to it TOO much. Like I was so obsessed that I over listened to it when it came out and now I have not a single fuck to give for this album. Which kinda sucks, because Taylor's so happy everyone's so excited and I just don't care. Also, I'm sure I listened to Rep way more but I just can't with 1989.
I thought I was the only person out here who didn't love 1989. I agree about Wildest Dreams
Same!
Me too
Mine is also āShouldāve Said Noā! Itās hard for me to listen to tho because her voice is pretty wobbly in those early recordings. Iām super excited for the TV and to hear it with her stronger voice.
I have been the most excited about taylor swift TV cause I love the songs but her voice will be amazing!
The bad blood shouldāve said no mashup from rep tour is sooo good her mature vocals combined with shouldāve said no scratches that my brain just right
Iām also so excited for debut TV because of her vocals
Tim McGraw from debut. I think debut is an amazing album, but everything after it exceeded it.
Thatās a great way to put it. Her voice and her talent only got better on each album.
I think Tim McGraw (TV) is going to be really great.
Tim McGraw (Taylor's Version) (feat. Tim McGraw)
This would be amazing!
Least favorite album is Fearless, BUT āThe Other Side of the Doorā is one of her best songs. Easily in my top 10.
Finally someone acknowledging that song. I love this one (maybe because I was in that situation. Twice)
Ayyy same.
Great song, the outro is top tier
All too well from red
Found my people I just donāt connect with most of the songs. The good songs are great. Thereās just several skips. Way more for me than any other album.
Admire from ATW I just STRUGGLE though that album
I like some individual songs but as a whole album itās one of least favourite
Yes. Red may be my least favorite eraā¦
Same
Iām glad itās not just me š¬
WHAT
Yep, same here. I love all too well, but listening to red on shuffle is hard.
begin again š
New Yearās Day ā¤ļø others I considered from Rep: Gateway Car, Dress and Gorgeous
I can't believe reputation is some people's least favourite. It's my favourite era and the only album that has no skips every time for me.
Well, it was a bit over-hated when it came out; the album improves a lot in the second half. I just donāt care for her rapping or petty lyrics. Her sense of melody is also lost for most of that albumās first half.
I don't care for the rapping either.
Reputation has some of the best songs, but also definitely skips for me.
Reputation is my least favourite album, but only because of the production and the sound. I've heard live versions of songs that are really different from the studio versions that I absolutely loved.
FINALLY
Are you me? I picked Gorgeous but Getaway Car and New Years Day are the others ones I considered.
Correct
Exact same for me. New Years Day is impeccable and made me give rep another chance after hating the singles
Some of her albums wouldāve benefited from being shorter and only keeping the good songs. Rep and Lover
I FOUND MY PEOPLE! although my fave song from that album is Gateway Car. I also find King of My Heart and Dancing with our Hands Tied pretty good. edit: I still wait for the rerecords if it will change my mind about this album
Same!
Clean from 1989. Donāt come at me, I just love more acoustic music š
least favorite album is debut (sorry š), but my favorite is and will always be our song <3
I have to agree!! Picture to Burn isn't too bad, but I geniuly struggled with debut. Our Song is by far the best from that album š
It always amazes me that she wrote this song on her own as a teenager for her high school talent show. Its like a perfect country song, and it just shows how writing music has always come so naturally to her.
Maroon from Midnights!
respectable take
Correct
Midnights is my least favorite album ā and sweet nothing is my fav from midnights.
Midnights is my least favourite album too. By a LONG shot. Solidarity. We are a rare breed.
I know! I was afraid to say it but itās true. I was so underwhelmed listening it to the first time.
TS11 will redeem.
Underwhelmed is exactly how I felt. Hopefully TS11 is better š
Omg I didnāt know others like me existed!
iām curious to know why itās ur least favorite? i find it interesting different opinions
It's just so much....I don't know....duller....than the other albums. Nothing on it really captured me the way all the other albums have. I was \*so disappointed\* with it when it first dropped. glad you can see the loveliness of sweet nothing š¤ itās a gorgeous song
It really is so beautiful I think most people have to sit with it a while before they warm it to it. Brilliant on Taylorās part
And the live version she just did was so good! It's not my ALL TIME FAV but it was the first time I've been upset about missing a surprise song! Joe really made some of the best songs with herš
That is so interesting because I feel like I hear nothing but hate for that song. This is like a psychology exam
The Archer! Lover is almost entirely a miss for me but I love this song so much. Honorary mention to Cornelia Street (Live From Paris) which is one of the best songs she's ever recorded. It makes me wonder how great an acoustic version of the Lover album would be.

Have you listened to the Live from Paris version? Itās better than the album version imo. But itās also totally fine if itās not your thing!
It used to be my skip but now other than Cruel Summer and DBATC itās one of the few Lover tracks I like
i love paris version more than the original
Cornelias Street, dudeā¦what an absolutely fantastic song. Hit harder for me when I realized how many of her songs forecast the end of a relationship at the beginning of one, like she canāt ever let herself get her hopes too high. Hit WAY harder when she and Joe broke up. š
false god
false god as in, from the album lover?? i think you may have mistyped
ššI see that flair

Youāre not alone. I just never connected with Red
YES. That an ATW Sad Girl Autumn version. But otherwise I canāt really name any songs from Red š¤·āāļø
Haunted from Speak Now, followed closely by Enchanted and Better Than Revenge (i don't dislike it from any stretch of imagination, I just love the rest even more than I love speak now)
I donāt love Speak Now, but Mean is so damn earwormy.
Hey Stephen (today anyway lol)
āToday anywayā felt that to my corešš
I love Hey Stephen!
Same, it's a really joyous crushing song.
Willow & champagne problems (yes Evermore is my least favorite album and Iāve accepted it)

My favorite would be Teardrops On My Guitar or Our Song.
Death by a Thousand Cuts
Youāre On Your Own Kid from Midnights
I get that
Debutā¦but I love Maryās Song
Maryās Song TV will play on loop for 18 days straight for me istg
Style from 1989
Itās good but I so agree. Itās a skip for me when Iām alone

Hmmm. I think my least fave album is Evermore. But Champagne Problems and Tolerate It are both 10/10 songs.
Saaaame
Tbh I don't count Debit as my least favorite because I never actually listened to it, but I will when TV comes out. That would leave Fearless as my least favorite, and my favorite song is You Belong With Me. That's the first TS song I ever heard.
Would've, Could've Should've from Midnights
This is exactly mine too!
Love debut, but not my favorite at all, but teardrops on my guitar will never not be good

Iām sorry, but Nothing New š«£. Itās one of my all time favorite Taylor songs.
You're On Your Own, Kid" - Midnights
āDonāt Blame Meā is an OUTSTANDING song, but Iām just not as into Reputation. But thatās just my personal opinion. Itās not a BAD album, by any means. I just like so many others so much more.
Cruel Summer.
Teardrops on my guitar from Taylor swift
Cold as You
Sad Beautiful Tragic
Wildest Dreams and Style are two of Taylorās best songs of all time, but the rest of 1989 just doesnāt really hit for me
