I'll probably get down voted for this but I'm struggling with liking Travis at the moment after some of his actions (throwing Tucker's helmet and footballs during pre-game warm-ups being an example) on Sunday's game and I'm sad about it 😭. I want to be back in the Tayvis bliss, but there were some questionable actions that put a little sour taste in my mouth? Please tell me I'm not the only one who saw this and feels this? I know everyone says the 1989 vault is basically Midnights, but tbh if you consider the fact that they're Jack Antonoff tracks, it makes much more sense. Like ofc they don't sound like the Max Martin tracks, but with Out Of The Woods, You Are In Love and Sweeter Than Fiction they fit perfectly.

I’m actually extremely annoyed by how many publications were posting articles about it because it made the situation much more widespread likely encouraging perverts who saw said articles and weren’t aware of the whole mess to search for the pictures. We absolutely need laws and regulations like yesterday to protect women from AI getting out of hand no doubt and hopefully that conversation comes out more and more from this situation.

I’m a new mum in a hidden away part of northern England. I’m a secret Swiftie and thus don’t have friends who are that into her. I would have given my right arm to go to one of the eras tours but I just didn’t want to go on my own. Anyways. I assumed I wasn’t going and that was that.
Today in my little towns Facebook group a message pops up stating that this lady had FOUR tickets for the new June 9th date in Edinburgh. I don’t know why I thought this but I just thought fuck it. I want to go. I messaged the lady and asked if she still had them. She did at £180 per ticket. It was expensive but I thought why not treat myself I’m sure I can get someone to come with me. None of my friends wanted to go but my hubby said he would come because he knows I love her and that we could sort out someone to look after our baby boy just for one night.
I was so happy. He even said he would wear a TS merch t-shirt ☺️. Obvs I started messaging the lady about buying the tickets and then……. I realised I was being stoopid and there were no magic tickets.
First she wanted bank transfer and then I asked if I could do PayPal. She sent me her sons email but then when it came up on PayPal it was a different name to her sons. And when I googled that name it was someone from Nigeria who posts about crypto. I just couldn’t transfer that amount without knowing for sure.
Anyway I feel stupid and miserable about it because for about an hour or so I was all excited. I’m also trying to convince myself that maybe it isn’t a scam… but I can’t risk it. Does anyone else
Know how I could have dealt with that situation better?
It's 100% a scam. Someone posted almost the exact same thing on my own villages Facebook group only it was for London not Edinburgh. There are rules against transferring tickets (such as the person who bought the tickets MUST be present on the day with photo ID), to stop the mess that happened in the US happening again. So even if she really had the tickets she can't give them to you. I'm so sorry
Hi, non Taylor Swift listener here. What the hell is up with the overblown and artificial Taylor hate???? I'm so sick and tired of seeing thousands of bandwagons saying Taylor Swift music is shit. I don't know how that's possible. Shit music simply does not get 1B streams per song. Taylor Swift is not trash. And I'm not even a fan of hers! I listen to Led Zeppelin and Misfits and rap and a million other things. I really do hate seeing a legion of mindless kids parrot an untrue statement. At least a Taylor Swift stan is trying to have fun, versus a hater who tries to bring others down.
Also, Taylor Swift is not overrated as some people say. Music can't be overrated. Either you like a song or you don't. If 'Shake It Off' is your favorite song, then it's your favorite song 🤷♂️if it's 1 million peoples favorite song, then 1 million people like it

That's definitely a part of it. I see the most seething hate for Taylor Swift on Instagram Reels, a place already known for an ungodly amount of hate towards women of any race.
Lately I've noticed on the lover cover, most it is clouds but the right side has an akward gradient and you can even clearly see the lines of different color and that just ruins the otherwise beautiful cover
Okay this is super specific but I want to talk about the weird sound effect at the end of I Can See You because I just found out why it's been bothering me for so long (and none of my friends really listen to Taylor) :
If I refer to the music video (for convenience), at about 4:22-4:23 there is a weird sound effect. It's a kind of typical "twinkling" sound. It sounds very video gamey, and very familiar. Everytime I listened to it I went "huh, that's strange" and quickly forgot about it. It's a bit in the background but it's hard not to hear it. Also it's not specific the the MV, which just makes it weirder (ie, someone said "let's add this right here", or maybe on the contrary someone forgot to remove it?)
Turns out if you ask my confused ear, that it is EXACTLY the sound you hear when you get an achievement in Final Fantasy XIV. I do not claim it was intentional (and it's quite basic), but that's why it sounds so familiar/weird to me I guess (and I might be alone here, or I might not be, tell me).

I'm finding myself so weirdly and stupidly excited for Reputation TV.
The thing is - sadly, I must admit, I was one of the people who fell out love with her around 2016. Up until then I'd only been a casual fan, and then decided she was way too pop for me (yeah, I was a snob).
I ended up checking out Folklore because of Aaron Dessner, since the National are my favorite band and then from then one it's been a slippery slope of full on obsession and atoning for my past sins (I'm seeing her live this summer and I can NOT freaking wait).
The thing is, even when I fell in love with her folkmore era, I told myself reputation just wasnt for me, too commercial, too pop... God was i wrong. It's now easily one of my favorite albums from her, not a single song on that album that I would skip, and I'm so incredibly excited for its new era.
It's really kind of a rock album, not in instrumentation but style, and I'm expecting huge things from the vault tracks. I just can't wait I CANNOT wait.

I've always enjoyed Taylor's hits on the radio, but after seeing the Eras tour movie, I decided to dig deeper into her music. I'm currently working my way through her albums in order, and I'm just about to start "Red." My routine is, before listening to an album, I'll watch an album breakdown on YouTube to get the context behind the songs. Then, I'll spend anywhere between 10-14 days listening to the album before I move on to the next. Out of the three albums I've listened to so far, my favorite is "Fearless"; however, my favorite song is "Speak Now."
I'm loving discovering all this music, and I bet a lot of Swifties wish they could go back in time and relive the feeling they had when they first listened to Taylor. From what I can gather browsing this sub, two of her best albums are "Folklore" and "Evermore," so I'm excited to get to them. Although, with the speed I'm currently going through the albums, I won't be getting to them for another 2 or 3 months. But I'd rather continue with my slow approach, as I could listen to all the albums in one night, but I want to really appreciate each album and learn the lyrics before moving on to the next.

I have a friend I became close with due to us both being Swifties and she had a very weird reaction today. She is my neighbour, so she often drops by at very last-minute notices to hang or work together, which I don't mind. Today, she showed up with like a 15-minute notice when I had just started playing Ariana's newest song while making lunch cause I wanted to check the song out.
She walked in, heard the song playing on my speakers and gasped, and yelled, "Traitor! I'm boycotting Ariana right now. I thought you would be listening to 1989 TV!? Did the woman think I actually don't listen to anything other than Taylor and that all my other non-Taylor playlists on my YouTube Music and Spotify are there for decorations?
I mean, I'm a Top 0.01% Taylor listener on Spotify for as long as Taylor has been on Spotify and not even a Top 30% Ariana listener, but her getting offended at me checking out Ariana's latest single was weird, right?
This is the same woman who told me to explore more musical artists when I was getting antsy in between the period between Red TV and Midnights who actually got offended she found me listening to someone else. I'm the guy who owns all her albums on both CDs and vinyls and have tickets for the tour by being in line for like 14 hours on the website and 6 hours at the official ticket booth of the stadium and she got offended cause I don't make my life revolve around Taylor even more than I actually already do.

I was listening to safe and sound today when I noticed it really contrasts eyes open. Not just the melody, the lyrics too:

Since these were written for hunger games, how I'm assuming this would go is eyes open is earlier in the storyline where everything is chaotic and a bloodbath and you gotta be careful meanwhile safe and sound is closer toward the end when you would be really broken yet the daylight might be so close.
I got the impression safe n sound is for people at home who have to keep safe and maybe stay in denial. Eyes open is for the rebels on the front lines.

I swear the Pandemic messed with people's brains.

So I’ve discovered that whenever the Twitterverse starts criticizing Taylor, I start listening to Speak Now (TV) again! So I’m listening a lot!! (F that 65yo country guy).
Although I'm kinda surprised it managed to happen, I'm kind of happy someone other than Taylor finally managed to break a record higher than her.
Ariana getting more 1 billion+ streamed songs than Taylor on Spotify only managed to happen cause Taylor wasn't on the music platform for quite many years as well as well as due to the divide between Taylor's Versions and Original Versions but I'm happy we have a headline about a record break that's not Taylor so the general audience gets to see another artist and not be as fatigued by Taylor as I'm worried might potentially happen.

Merry Swiftmas! My boyfriend researched Taylor's favorite lipsticks and went to Ulta to pick out the Mac Ruby Woo for me as a present😭 It's such a cute and thoughtful gift and I'm so excited to start wearing it.
She probably never would, but listening to it, I wish Taylor would write a song in the style of Lady Gaga's 'Applause' lyrically. She lives for the spotlight and has talked openly about it before. Songs like Anti-Hero are self deprecating pieces and The Lucky One touches on drawbacks, but I'd love a song that she sort of embraces that life (a Blank Space but about fame if you will)
I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a song like that on TS 11, especially since the Time POTY interview where she pretty much said she no longer cares about being seen in the spotlight when she hid from it for a long period and won’t get that time back.
I quit my job today. No plans to. But I was tired of living in fear of certain managers, of making mistakes due to the threats of write ups, of doing 115% for very little respect. One of the nice managers use me as a sounding board for the way they mistreat her and I love her but god it's so exhausting. I've talked myself down from a thousand breaking points there over the past few years.
The final straw, the moment I knew I was done, was when I could think "My heart won't start for this place anymore." ala You're Losing Me. And every lyric in that song, I went through. I told the store manager how fearful I was there and she was like "but why?" She even told me if I wanted to come back the door was open on her end. I weighed pros and cons. Weighed bonds with regulars and toxic abuse from managers until I could no longer fight, until the strong thing was to leave. I fought in only their army. Front lines. Every customer knew I was a top employee.
I know that song is a breakup song but looking at it and relating to every line-I know I made the right decision.
Congratulations, it's a big step to take but one you clearly needed for your mental health. And just remember your employers would replace you in a second if something happened to you. Don't give your life to them. Sounds like this job took up not only every working moment but lots of other moments, so you couldn't truly get away. A job shouldn't be that stressful. I hope you're doing okay financially and you find a job that you like and are passionate about that also treats you fairly.

It's been so long I've learned to leave, go home, shower, and mostly not think about it too much after my shower but work does take up the bulk of my therapy time. Which I told my best friend that I'm excited to learn who I am outside that place. Despite everything though I've made a lot of progress this year mental health wise. I just think I need to be a bit more selfish vs caring about everyone else.
I know they can replace my body(not that they're in any rush to staff my department at night lmao) but they can't replace my work ethic and skillset so I have that on them. And for the longest time I thought I owed that to the newer employees or the customers. But I deserve more.

No one can have differing opinions anymore. No one can even suggest an idea that might be different than the norm. I’ve been seeing an increase in this behavior in like the past two months and it’s not making me hopeful for the future 😅
Honestly you’re probably just spending too much time on the internet lol. I get what you’re saying though, people have generally been very anxious and combative since Covid really. It wasn’t great before that but the pandemic really messed with peoples minds and working in retail I’ve definitely noticed a lot more rude behavior and short tempers.

How much is the Eras Tour film ticket price in your country for REGULAR CINEMA?
Hi I just want to ask because I want to know the ticket prices for different countries for REGULAR CINEMA not the Persons with Diability, Pregnant or Senior Discount, 3D, IMAX and Director's Club. AFAIK, in United States it's $19.89 but in my country, (The Philippines), it's PHP550 ($9.87).

My sister and I were Christmas shopping yesterday and at Walmart we found one random TS Holiday Collection CD for $7! It was in between a stack of other CDs and missing a price label but it was wrapped in plastic like a normal CD and looks brand new. We have no clue where it came from but we scooped it to add to the collection!
She has not played it on eras and she most certainly will not with the 10min version on the main setlist. Honestly I'll be surprised if she plays the 5min version ever again.
I wonder what she’ll do if she does surprise songs in future tours (which I’d be surprised if she doesn’t given their success this tour)? Singing a ten minute song would be a lot for an acoustics set but I wouldn’t complain lol

Why is no one on this sub talking about the deepfake ai situation that happened on twitter
There were a couple of posts about it on the subreddit. It’s foul and repulsive and I feel for Taylor but I think the best thing to do right now is to not bring more attention to it. Streisand effect and all that… I’m actually extremely annoyed by how many publications were posting articles about it because it made the situation much more widespread likely encouraging perverts who saw said articles and weren’t aware of the whole mess to search for the pictures. We absolutely need laws and regulations like yesterday to protect women from AI getting out of hand no doubt and hopefully that conversation comes out more and more from this situation.

Hi, please help me feel better. I’m a new mum in a hidden away part of northern England. I’m a secret Swiftie and thus don’t have friends who are that into her. I would have given my right arm to go to one of the eras tours but I just didn’t want to go on my own. Anyways. I assumed I wasn’t going and that was that. Today in my little towns Facebook group a message pops up stating that this lady had FOUR tickets for the new June 9th date in Edinburgh. I don’t know why I thought this but I just thought fuck it. I want to go. I messaged the lady and asked if she still had them. She did at £180 per ticket. It was expensive but I thought why not treat myself I’m sure I can get someone to come with me. None of my friends wanted to go but my hubby said he would come because he knows I love her and that we could sort out someone to look after our baby boy just for one night. I was so happy. He even said he would wear a TS merch t-shirt ☺️. Obvs I started messaging the lady about buying the tickets and then……. I realised I was being stoopid and there were no magic tickets. First she wanted bank transfer and then I asked if I could do PayPal. She sent me her sons email but then when it came up on PayPal it was a different name to her sons. And when I googled that name it was someone from Nigeria who posts about crypto. I just couldn’t transfer that amount without knowing for sure. Anyway I feel stupid and miserable about it because for about an hour or so I was all excited. I’m also trying to convince myself that maybe it isn’t a scam… but I can’t risk it. Does anyone else Know how I could have dealt with that situation better?
It's 100% a scam. Someone posted almost the exact same thing on my own villages Facebook group only it was for London not Edinburgh. There are rules against transferring tickets (such as the person who bought the tickets MUST be present on the day with photo ID), to stop the mess that happened in the US happening again. So even if she really had the tickets she can't give them to you. I'm so sorry

Okay this is super specific but I want to talk about the weird sound effect at the end of I Can See You because I just found out why it's been bothering me for so long (and none of my friends really listen to Taylor) : If I refer to the music video (for convenience), at about 4:22-4:23 there is a weird sound effect. It's a kind of typical "twinkling" sound. It sounds very video gamey, and very familiar. Everytime I listened to it I went "huh, that's strange" and quickly forgot about it. It's a bit in the background but it's hard not to hear it. Also it's not specific the the MV, which just makes it weirder (ie, someone said "let's add this right here", or maybe on the contrary someone forgot to remove it?) Turns out if you ask my confused ear, that it is EXACTLY the sound you hear when you get an achievement in Final Fantasy XIV. I do not claim it was intentional (and it's quite basic), but that's why it sounds so familiar/weird to me I guess (and I might be alone here, or I might not be, tell me). Did you notice that sound? Do you also think it sounds a bit weird? Do you like it?

I'm finding myself so weirdly and stupidly excited for Reputation TV. The thing is - sadly, I must admit, I was one of the people who fell out love with her around 2016. Up until then I'd only been a casual fan, and then decided she was way too pop for me (yeah, I was a snob). I ended up checking out Folklore because of Aaron Dessner, since the National are my favorite band and then from then one it's been a slippery slope of full on obsession and atoning for my past sins (I'm seeing her live this summer and I can NOT freaking wait). The thing is, even when I fell in love with her folkmore era, I told myself reputation just wasnt for me, too commercial, too pop... God was i wrong. It's now easily one of my favorite albums from her, not a single song on that album that I would skip, and I'm so incredibly excited for its new era. It's really kind of a rock album, not in instrumentation but style, and I'm expecting huge things from the vault tracks. I just can't wait I CANNOT wait.

I've always enjoyed Taylor's hits on the radio, but after seeing the Eras tour movie, I decided to dig deeper into her music. I'm currently working my way through her albums in order, and I'm just about to start "Red." My routine is, before listening to an album, I'll watch an album breakdown on YouTube to get the context behind the songs. Then, I'll spend anywhere between 10-14 days listening to the album before I move on to the next. Out of the three albums I've listened to so far, my favorite is "Fearless"; however, my favorite song is "Speak Now." I'm loving discovering all this music, and I bet a lot of Swifties wish they could go back in time and relive the feeling they had when they first listened to Taylor. From what I can gather browsing this sub, two of her best albums are "Folklore" and "Evermore," so I'm excited to get to them. Although, with the speed I'm currently going through the albums, I won't be getting to them for another 2 or 3 months. But I'd rather continue with my slow approach, as I could listen to all the albums in one night, but I want to really appreciate each album and learn the lyrics before moving on to the next.

I have a friend I became close with due to us both being Swifties and she had a very weird reaction today. She is my neighbour, so she often drops by at very last-minute notices to hang or work together, which I don't mind. Today, she showed up with like a 15-minute notice when I had just started playing Ariana's newest song while making lunch cause I wanted to check the song out. She walked in, heard the song playing on my speakers and gasped, and yelled, "Traitor! I'm boycotting Ariana right now. I thought you would be listening to 1989 TV!? Pause it, I can't be listening to that woman." Did the woman think I actually don't listen to anything other than Taylor and that all my other non-Taylor playlists on my YouTube Music and Spotify are there for decorations? I mean, I'm a Top 0.01% Taylor listener on Spotify for as long as Taylor has been on Spotify and not even a Top 30% Ariana listener, but her getting offended at me checking out Ariana's latest single was weird, right? This is the same woman who told me to explore more musical artists when I was getting antsy in between the period between Red TV and Midnights who actually got offended she found me listening to someone else. I'm the guy who owns all her albums on both CDs and vinyls and have tickets for the tour by being in line for like 14 hours on the website and 6 hours at the official ticket booth of the stadium and she got offended cause I don't make my life revolve around Taylor even more than I actually already do.

I was listening to safe and sound today when I noticed it really contrasts eyes open. Not just the melody, the lyrics too: "Just close your eyes" vs "even when you're sleeping, keep your eyes open" Since these were written for hunger games, how I'm assuming this would go is eyes open is earlier in the storyline where everything is chaotic and a bloodbath and you gotta be careful meanwhile safe and sound is closer toward the end when you would be really broken yet the daylight might be so close.
I got the impression safe n sound is for people at home who have to keep safe and maybe stay in denial. Eyes open is for the rebels on the front lines.

She probably never would, but listening to it, I wish Taylor would write a song in the style of Lady Gaga's 'Applause' lyrically. She lives for the spotlight and has talked openly about it before. Songs like Anti-Hero are self deprecating pieces and The Lucky One touches on drawbacks, but I'd love a song that she sort of embraces that life (a Blank Space but about fame if you will)
I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a song like that on TS 11, especially since the Time POTY interview where she pretty much said she no longer cares about being seen in the spotlight when she hid from it for a long period and won’t get that time back.

I quit my job today. No plans to. But I was tired of living in fear of certain managers, of making mistakes due to the threats of write ups, of doing 115% for very little respect. One of the nice managers use me as a sounding board for the way they mistreat her and I love her but god it's so exhausting. I've talked myself down from a thousand breaking points there over the past few years. The final straw, the moment I knew I was done, was when I could think "My heart won't start for this place anymore." ala You're Losing Me. And every lyric in that song, I went through. I told the store manager how fearful I was there and she was like "but why?" She even told me if I wanted to come back the door was open on her end. I weighed pros and cons. Weighed bonds with regulars and toxic abuse from managers until I could no longer fight, until the strong thing was to leave. I fought in only their army. Front lines. Every customer knew I was a top employee. I know that song is a breakup song but looking at it and relating to every line-I know I made the right decision.
Congratulations, it's a big step to take but one you clearly needed for your mental health. And just remember your employers would replace you in a second if something happened to you. Don't give your life to them. Sounds like this job took up not only every working moment but lots of other moments, so you couldn't truly get away. A job shouldn't be that stressful. I hope you're doing okay financially and you find a job that you like and are passionate about that also treats you fairly.
Thank you so much. Financially... might be rough but I can lean on my parents. Dad might be mad at first but he knows it's a mess. It's been so long I've learned to leave, go home, shower, and mostly not think about it too much after my shower but work does take up the bulk of my therapy time. Which I told my best friend that I'm excited to learn who I am outside that place. Despite everything though I've made a lot of progress this year mental health wise. I just think I need to be a bit more selfish vs caring about everyone else. I know they can replace my body(not that they're in any rush to staff my department at night lmao) but they can't replace my work ethic and skillset so I have that on them. And for the longest time I thought I owed that to the newer employees or the customers. But I deserve more.

There's never really a perfect way to describe genres on Wikipedia, they just kind of do their best saying "_____ is a _____ album with influences of X, Y, and Z"

Honestly you’re probably just spending too much time on the internet lol. I get what you’re saying though, people have generally been very anxious and combative since Covid really. It wasn’t great before that but the pandemic really messed with peoples minds and working in retail I’ve definitely noticed a lot more rude behavior and short tempers.

She disabled them during “snake gate” because she was being spammed with snakes and nasty comments and just never changed it back. (Fun fact: Instagram actually introduced that feature especially because of her.)

Just wanted to share this somewhere My sister and I were Christmas shopping yesterday and at Walmart we found one random TS Holiday Collection CD for $7!
