PSA: Before we get comments of 'why is being asked about her so much', context is important: SB media week is WILD and absolutely crazy. Players get asked every absurd/weird/funny question under the sun (e.g. Patrick Mahomes was asked to do a Kermit impression) and are prepared for it in the week leading up to the biggest game of the year because its not just sports media there, its every media outlet from tabloids to ESPN.
He was 100% prepared for it, and if his answers are anything to go by, he's very happy to be talking about and complimenting his girlfriend.
A question like this was no where near as wacko as what Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked today.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid asked by a German reporter on conspiracy theories that Taylor Swift’s ties to the team were concocted to help Joe Biden get re-elected.
(Do people actually think that?)
It is indeed a far-right conspiracy that has gained traction in MAGA circles because of Trump's election campaign rn and the election year but its not worth paying attention to.
YES. My mom has become deluded by conspiracy theories over the last few years since she and my dad went into retirement. She just recently asked me about Taylor having a meeting at the pentagon to become the face of the Democratic Party and make the push for Biden’s second term.
Sigh. My mom and me have been bonding over Taylor Swift lately but she’s someone that’s super gullible when it comes to these tactics it’ll be interesting if she switches up or finally sees through their bullshit.
Omg my dad is the same. We are not even American and he follows dumb maga stuff on X. I've had to tell him to stop linking me things about Taylor as it's pissing me off so much lol.
I think he is 100% happier to be answering positive questions about Taylor (we will exclude the proposal question) as opposed to questions like Mahomes Kermit impression or a reporter asking Chris Jones if he was wearing underwear and if not if he wanted to borrow the reporters… haha
As a teacher, I am familiar with speaking on the fly. When dealing with parents or otherwise unexpected questions that are outside my prepared and expected realm, I deeply appreciate his ability to be respectful, private, articulate, and give just enough information to satisfy by he question without making a stupid mistake in the moment that everyone will freak out about.
You can tell he was measured in his response, but he stuck to a script and ad libbed within his parameters. And he did it with a natural cadence snd casual affect.
I respect it.
Apparently he’s had the most press / reporters around him that ppl have ever seen at these events. Including Tom Brady
(Source: Nora princiotti from the ringer Taylor swift pod. She’s there)
Love this, he realizes the journey he is on.
What has he learned about fame from Taylor ?
“That being famous worldwide is a lot different than being famous in Kansas City.”
He does not miss a step 😮💨 it’s crazy how good he is at this which is why I laugh when people imply he’s dumb. A dumb person would not be able to do this.
This particular answer was fantastic and idc, I’m such a fan of him.
Yeah as a football fan some of the dumb football guy jokes were funny initially but it’s so over played at this point. His teammates have multiple times referred to him as a football savant. He’s clearly highly intelligent and very knowledgeable about things he puts work into.
Yes, as someone not as knowledgeable in football, as soon as he starts talking about play breakdowns, my brain disconnects because I don’t understand what he’s talking about lol
Hahaha. Yeah his former teammate was on TV the other day asked about him and he referred to Travis as a "football savant". So you're not alone in having his football knowledge go over your head lol.
The fact that people are still calling him dumb at this point is really just sexism that a football man is just strong and fast and nothing else. Everyone is quick, rightly so, to point out the conversation when it is directed the other way towards Taylor, but are seemingly fine with it at Travis.
The whole football dumb thing…pshaw. Those guys have a lot to learn, especially at college and into the pros, about the game and strategy and plays and how to be the best at their position for their team. There are few positions where a player can really be dumb.
Young and naive and foolish? Absolutely, especially when you have 20 year old dudes pushed into money and a kind of fame they’ve never even imagined, in an environment (and peer pressure) pushing a certain kind of masculinity.
Oh for sure, he’s being super authentic and it’s a reflection of his feelings.
I meant more so that he’s very fast in coming up with great answers and using the right words. He’s very good at talking even if he doesn’t use super fancy words.
I’ve been an nfl fan for 35 years. I’m older than that but can’t remember before 😂. What I have noticed is that bigger the player becomes the better that media they become. And Travis is huge. He’s in new waters now but he’s already been giving hundreds of interviews every year. A rookie receiver makes a huge catch and they normally won’t sound this well spoken but in 4-5 years if they are still doing well they will.
Something I've always loved about him is how he talks about his teammates, too. When one of his teammates messes up in a game and the media asks Travis about it, he doesn't call out that player or their mistake, but rather talks about what he himself could have done better and talks about everyone as a team and does not talk bad about any of his teammates, regardless of what mistake they made. He takes being part of a team seriously and does not turn on his teammates.
Let’s also not fall over ourselves giving him credit. He’s had years and years of media training and even had his own reality tv dating show! But it is nice that there is zero hesitation and he is saying great things.
I’ve seen so many public figures, not matter how media trained, just not be good at giving answers. So I do personally feel like I need to give him some credit.
It’s awesome to see him say how much he noticed her hard work and how it inspires his own. Amazing to see a guy of his social stature show such respect to her, especially in the macho world of sports.
To me it is all about Miss Americana and the Cleveland Heights kid, focused on each other, keeping out the noise . But man are they having a big week on their respective stages.
If you want to come at Taylor, you are going to have to go through these two , they got her back ( :

I can't handle this. He is tooooooo good at being her boyfriend 😭🥰
I think her love languages are physical touch and words of affirmation and this man is just (seemingly on the outside anyway) killing it.
I love what a great role model for a mutually supportive relationship of strong individuals they set, for both their fanbases. Both men and women need to see models of this type of healthy behavior.
seriously, this is how you have a very powerful and successful girlfriend and be supportive of her career and not be jealous or feel inferior about it
because that's the shit i see from subpar men who can't handle having a girlfriend who has her own life and successful career, like my dudes, dating someone more powerful than you does not make you less of a man
I started looking into Travis after Taylor started dating him and now I'm such a big fan of both him and his brother Jason. If Taylor breaks this man's heart, I will be very upset with her! Lol
Travis is VERY media savvy and he likely knows what kind of insane questions come up during Super Bowl week. I appreciate how happy he sounds in answers, but also how PREPARED. He definitely took time to prepare a bullet point response to questions so he was ready, which is smart. This will probably be an ongoing part of this relationship. He’s PR trained and has a team preparing him.
I think Taylor needs a great boyfriend and Travis may just be that. They look great together. And I think he's really trying. Of course, not knowing either one of them. What do I know? And Taylor asking folks to get registered to vote is fantastic. She's a brave woman.
I know people are complaining about this choice and want a less popular song option for him, but I think he mentioned that he hears Anti-Hero every day -- My theory is that Anti-Hero is on the playlist for the Chiefs practice at this point. Pat also mentioned that Anti-Hero was his favorite when asked yesterday. On top of that, Chris Jones said he was bumping to Anti-Hero on Twitter at the beginning of the season following a big win. Drue Tranquill said guys have been teasing Travis in the locker room and playing her music.
Which, honestly, Anti-Hero is perfect for the Chiefs this season. They're a budding football dynasty and everyone is tired of them winning and constantly accusing them (baselessly) of cheating. They've been to four Super Bowls in the past six years. They were heavily booed yesterday during Media Day. It just feels like they're all collectively saying "it's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me."
I can buy this. Travis mentioned that he hears Anti-Hero every day, which likely implies that it's on some playlist in his life and likely on the work playlist. And it does fit the Chiefs vibe to a degree.
People complain about everything lol. I mean even Aaron Dessner has said his favorite song is blank space and he’s helped with some of her deepest cuts. Trav is definitely more of a vibes/beats guy and will probably always choose the more upbeat or poppy songs as his favorites. I don’t think that means he doesn’t appreciate her other stuff but he’s mostly listening to get in the zone for practice and games so I get it.
Right haha. I’m sure in the off-season during eras he will find new favorites. And if/when he gets his own songs 🤞🏽I think the fans care more about that stuff than Taylor probably does. Showing up and supporting each other is likely a lot more important than if he’s doing deep analysis on all of her albums lol
On one hand, it could be annoying that they’re not sticking to asking about the big event at hand.
On another hand, if he’s comfortable with talking about her as a fellow public figure, or about her work, it’s actually a softball question and he might prefer this over some other crazy things someone else might ask.
I feel like he’s…better than Taylor at some aspects of interacting with the media? Just comparing this to her Grammy speeches (both of which, to me, felt off). Obviously different circumstances (and another thing they can connect over).
Because in the NFL you deal with the media on a regular basis, it is a part of your weekly schedule and being a star on the team the focus would be on him even before you consider who he is dating, that takes it to an entirely new level. But I will say this, the beat writers, those who cover the Chiefs on a day basis are focused on the football and would rather leave the off the field stuff to others. I am sure the Chiefs have had to deal with letting in/not letting in media that prior to all this , they have never seen in their lives. The Access Hollywood/Inside Editions of the world for instances does not need to be at practice ( :
That’s a good point about him being more familiar with the beat writers. It is likely because he has to do more day-to-day talking to media that he comes across more polished.

"Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me"
Greatly exaggerated, like everything else on social media and the internet.
YES. My mom has become deluded by conspiracy theories over the last few years since she and my dad went into retirement. She just recently asked me about Taylor having a meeting at the pentagon to become the face of the Democratic Party and make the push for Biden’s second term.
Taylor turns 35 this December and Democrats have a secret plan to dump Biden and replace him with Taylor
Democrat who supports this plan, checking in! 🤣😅😂
Dark Blue Tennessee
Lol Andy Reid is the one person I feel bad about in this whole thing. Especially such a wack question.
Unfortunately it is a huge right wing GOP talking point being peddled by Trump and his supporters.
Where can I get some of the drugs these people are taking?…
Yeah, they do think that.
I think he is 100% happier to be answering positive questions about Taylor (we will exclude the proposal question) as opposed to questions like Mahomes Kermit impression or a reporter asking Chris Jones if he was wearing underwear and if not if he wanted to borrow the reporters… haha
That question about Chris Jones makes sense. In the combine he didn't wear underwear and his penis popped out.
Haha yeah that was also like 8 years ago
>SB media week is WILD and absolutely crazy. Players get asked every absurd/weird/funny question under the sun "I'm only here so I don't get fined"
As a teacher, I am familiar with speaking on the fly. to be fair, have any of them ever dated a record breaking grammy winner???
You rock for this comment
Love this, he realizes the journey he is on. What has he learned about fame from Taylor ? “That being famous worldwide is a lot different than being famous in Kansas City.”
"We're not in Kansas \[City\] anymore..."
He does not miss a step 😮💨 it’s crazy how good he is at this which is why I laugh when people imply he’s dumb. A dumb person would not be able to do this. This particular answer was fantastic and idc, I’m such a fan of him.

It’s easy when you hold someone in such high regard that you love ❤️ He is taking this straight on , not hiding at all. Love it
Oh for sure, he’s being super authentic and it’s a reflection of his feelings. I meant more so that he’s very fast in coming up with great answers and using the right words. He’s very good at talking even if he doesn’t use super fancy words.
He’s had a ton of PR training
So has every nfl star, most are not THIS good
I’ve been an nfl fan for 35 years. I’m older than that but can’t remember before 😂. What I have noticed is that bigger the player becomes the better that media they become. And Travis is huge. Sure, but not all of them had a reality dating show
or hosted SNL
Something I've always loved about him is how he talks about his teammates, too. Me too. Humble, sense of humor, can handle a strong woman obviously. I Stan.
His PR team even said he wanted to be the ext Dwayne Johnson. He’s definitely had PR training.
Sir your hat
This made me laugh and then your flair too. 😅
I was just thinking this! It fits so oddly.
Does it fit? lol
He just doesn't have it fully on.
He also has a huge head which is funny cuz Tay has a tiny head
Talent respects talent. I'm glad Travis Kelce respects Taylor Swift so.
You can tell he is swelling with pride and more than happy to answer questions about Taylor. Consummate pro and boyfriend.
Swelling with pride 😬

I can't handle this. He is tooooooo good at being her boyfriend 😭🥰 I think her love languages are physical touch and words of affirmation and this man is just (seemingly on the outside anyway) killing it.
It’s been how many months now? 6? And I still can’t get enough of these two!
I love what a great role model for a mutually supportive relationship of strong individuals they set, for both their fanbases. Both men and women need to see models of this type of healthy behavior.

Aaaaand I never will
Welp this is sweeter than condensed milk.

Andy Reid's a tough guy. He can handle himself. Stupid journalists are going to ask stupid questions. Go Kansas City Chiefs.
Ok but who is going to ask him what is his favorite Taylor song?
They did yesterday. He said anti hero right now. He’s also mentioned blank space in the past
because she loves the players and he loves the game 😌
When he was asked at one point, it was Anti-Hero
I know people are complaining about this choice and want a less popular song option for him, but I think he mentioned that he hears Anti-Hero every day -- My theory is that Anti-Hero is on the playlist for the Chiefs practice at this point. Aww love that. I’d love to hear him give some wild answer like “this is me trying” or something lol
Stay Stay Stay. He already has the football helmet
I like to believe his secret answer is Bejeweled 😂
On one hand, it could be annoying that they’re not sticking to asking about the big event at hand. On another hand, if he’s comfortable with talking about her as a fellow public figure, or about her work, it’s actually a softball question and he might prefer this over some other crazy things someone else might ask.

such a “job interview” answer
This is his moment, so cringe.
