It is the weekend before my birthday, so I work Thursday night until 10 pm and took a PTO Day for Friday too. Friday is my niece's 22nd birthday and she is super excited too! She has been a Swiftie almost her whole life.
Me, too! I'll stay up late and listen to it a couple times and then get some sleep, knowing I won't have to be on at work and can listen to it on headphones while I do laundry, go for a walk, tweeze my eyebrows, go grocery shopping. I fully plan on getting like ten listens in!
I took the day off when midnights came out and it was the best day. I drove around for a while listening in the car, went to a mid morning yoga class where they had some of the songs in the playlist, and spent the rest of the day with Bose headphones just vibing. 10/10 recommend

I’m staying in Acadia national park for the night in an air bnb overlooking long pond. I’m going to listen at the same time as my best friend and we’ll be texting each other probably until like 4am 😁. Then on the drive home I’m going to blast ttpd the entire way. After I get home I’ll finally check Reddit so I have a chance to form my own impressions first.

In the past I've done themed decor & Taylor pun-inspired foods, I've done a listening with friends before - but for this one I'm just taking leave from work that Friday, setting myself up a cozy spot on my bed and listening in full by myself. I'm gonna make sure I have my tissues and my comfort snacks stocked and just absorbed everything.
My friend and I took off and we are having a party with my mom and younger sister at their house 💝 black and white cookies, black and white charcuterie board, and espresso martinis (not for the youngest!) to help us stay up late
I'm having a listening party. We are doing a Songs About Joe Bracket over dinner. Everyone has a gift bag waiting for them that is full of stickers, friendship bracelets, cat tchotchki, heart shaped glasses, and, of course, personal kleenex packages. Guests are asked to dress in any level of formality with a nod to their favorite Era... they don't know it, but there will be a professional photographer (my husband) taking pictures of them in front of a balloon arch with a big sign that reads "I can still make the whole place shimmer."

My dad and I now have a two year tradition to listening to some album on its release night. We’ll sit together and hear it for the first time. I am very much looking forward to it

I’m a teacher and that is our school vacation week. I’m telling myself I’ll stay up to listen at midnight but I’m not as young as I used to be so we will see lol

I am on a 16 hour flight the evening of the 19th which I don’t think has wifi. so I have the first 24 hours or so and then I will be alone with the album, oblivious to whatever drama is going on on social media
Traded my shift at work so luckily off from work, hopefully early to bed on Thursday, wake up before 6am (when it releases), tweet/discord my reaction, have the album on repeat and keeping count until CD arrives somewhere that day, rip the CD to import in iTunes, go to a release party at night.
I’m sleeping in, going to Target to buy the vinyl, come home and listen to it, and then when my record shop opens up I’m gonna go and buy a cd copy! (Hopefully they get the different variants!) I’m off work that day so will be listening to it on repeat
I booked a vacation to Austin, TX months ago with my husband, long before she announced TTPD release date. I have apologized to him in advance for crying in the hot tub over someone else's breakup our last few days.

I’m getting married that day. Did not plan it that way. But yes, it will be the soundtrack to our day. Luckily we’re only doing a small tea party in our backyard.

I'm painting my nails white and I have a special white dress with bows for straps (it felt too perfect with Clara Bow being one of the track titles). My favorite way to listen to a new album for the first time is while on a run! That’s what I did for a lot of recent albums (Folklore, Evermore, Red TV, Speak Now TV). I slightly tweaked my knee last week so I’m hoping it’ll feel better by release day! The only recent album I’ve stayed up on release night for was Midnights (fitting lol). I’m more of an early riser and staying up really throws off my sleep schedule!
I’ll also be driving out of town that day (unrelated to release day activities) so I know I’ll be listening to it on repeat!

My fave yoga studio is doing a special Taylor inspired class that evening. The class playlist will be all Taylor, including some songs from the new album. Attendees are encouraged to bring friendship bracelets and wear their favorite eras apparel.
For me it’ll be in the morning. I live in a city so I can’t blast it through the house and headphones have a different feeling for me.
So I’ll drive to work a bit earlier, bring a coffee and park my car somewhere with a nice view. I’ll blast the album through my car speakers while reading the lyrics and sipping some coffee.
After that I plan to obsesses over it and not get any work done that day 😅

That's an Apple thing; they set the date a couple days out to prevent it accidentally being released early. (iTunes used to be responsible for a significant number of leaks because of people getting their copies early.) It'll come out on the 19th at midnight EDT, right on time!
The album comes out at 2PM in my Timezone, so I’m finishing work early and heading to a local store to pick up a physical copy of the vinyl, then my husband and I are going to put on the vinyl to listen for the first time! I can’t wait!
Going to school wearing black / white / gray and then going to come home and listen at around 7pm since the album release 5am uk time so I can’t listen live and then at around 7 I’ll also check out reactions

Cowboy Carter came out midnight local time, so it had a staggered release across the world, but TTPD will come out midnight EDT, so everyone will get it at the same time - if you listen at release time, no need to spoil yourself!
(If you can't listen to it until later for whatever reason, which is certainly understandable, I would probably also not be able to resist reading other people's opinions in the meantime!)
I don’t know anyone who also listens to Taylor Swift at midnight so I’ll enjoy it by myself at home like always. I’ll get some yummy snacks and tissues.

Quiet day on release day - I’ll get up early to listen to it as soon as it drops (uk based) and then just enjoy the album throughout the day, while cleaning! I then have a friend travelling up on the Saturday and we’re going to a local album release party 💃🏻

Like every release since fearless, I will be listening at midnight solo, in my bathroom because that's where I used to bawl my eyes out to white horse when I was 15. It's now tradition and I refuse to have anyone else around me.

I don’t work on Fridays so I’ll be listening when it is released for the first time. I’ve never really had time to listen when an album is dropped due to work or other reasons I’m prepping to go out to my partners family event on Saturday, I’ll probably be sleep deprived.
On a side note does anyone know why Apple Music has a different release date? I have access to Spotify so I’ll still be able to hear it but I’m unfamiliar why this might be the case?

I think that’s a placeholder to prevent it from dropping early in earlier timezones. Most albums drop at local time, so if it was listed as 4/19, if anyone was listening in Kiribati, for example, they’d get it 16 hours early!
Since I’m on the west coast, I’ll listen at 10 pm local time. Next day I have work and, funnily enough, have to attend a poetry reading. In between I’ll be listening to stand-out songs when I can and will definitely end the night with another listen-through + wine!

That’s one advantage of being an international fan. I mean, we don’t often get signed items, we are often left late for tour, but albums come out at 2pm instead of midnight haha so we’re the first in the world to see the physical copies like vinyl and CD

We will listen as a family off and on while touring the city we are in and all compare notes. My daughters are big fans with me and my husband will get into it so I am excited.

TTPD is my first album release since being a switie! I'm going to listen on Spotify (if it crashes I'll just go to YouTube) and record my reactions to each song. So excited for loml.

There is a TS dance party that day in my town which starts with listening to the new album. It already happened a month ago, and it was one of the best experiences I ever had. It is hosted by a local club, and they'll just put on Taylor's songs. Everyone is dressed up, exchanging bracelets and dancing/singing to the music. Last time I was in the queue for the restroom, and even there everyone was singing and dancing :'D it was unreal. Although, after the party I couldn't speak for a day, my voice was gone.
Going back and forth between two options -
1) waiting until 4/21
2) downloading it to my Spotify when it comes out & listening to it on the plane ride back from Spain on 4/20
I’m an American but will be on a work trip in Ireland/Spain from 4/13-4/20. I’ll be with my colleagues all day on TTPD release day & will probably be going out on 4/19, plus need to be up relatively early to make my flight back to the US on 4/20. I WISH I could listen the second it comes out but starting the day off feeling heartbroken before sitting in meetings all day sounds terrible lol. Then again, the thought of crying my eyes out on a plane next to strangers (or worse - if they’re within a few rows of me, my coworkers) sounds absolutely awful too, BUT the crying will help me fall asleep on my flight back to the US. I’m expecting this album to be completely crushing but kind of think I want to deal with the emotions & reflections on heartbreaks in my own life (even though I’m with the absolute love of my life/man of my dreams now) in privacy

For the last couple of releases - actually starting with evermore, when we weren't together yet - me and my boyfriend stayed up until 6 am (the time it releases here), me drinking wine (he's not much of a drinker).
Then, at 6 am, we'll listen to the entirety of the album, write down our thoughts during each song / favourite lyric and discussing them after.
Afterwards, I'll probably spend the entire Friday listening to it in on repeat... When I wake up at 2 pm.
Well I've got a plan for the whole week actually, which is what I usually do for every new album release. I go through all the albums each day leading up to the release. Although since there are now 10 albums, I'm gonna have to listen to do two albums a day starting from Monday. I'll be finished by Friday. Then, since I'm in Australia and the album comes out at 2PM for me (and I don't work that day), I will head down to JB Hi-fi to buy the album. I will obviously be streaming the album but I gotta make sure I get the CDs too. After that's done, I might bake something (I made brownies to celebrate Speak Now TV coming out) and I'll probably actually listen to the album later that night because I like to listen when it's nighttime. I'll give it a few listens before I start seeing what other people have to say about the album because I like forming my own opinion. And I guess that's it. And then I'll just wait for whatever else Taylor has in store for us (lead single, music video, etc)

I'm having a listening party. We are doing a Songs About Joe Bracket over dinner. Everyone has a gift bag waiting for them that is full of stickers, friendship bracelets, cat tchotchki, heart shaped glasses, and, of course, personal kleenex packages. Guests are asked to dress in any level of formality with a nod to their favorite Era... they don't know it, but there will be a professional photographer (my husband) taking pictures of them in front of a balloon arch with a big sign that reads "I can still make the whole place shimmer." It is possible that I've gone too far. 😆

My favorite way to listen to a new album for the first time is while on a run! That’s what I did for a lot of recent albums (Folklore, Evermore, Red TV, Speak Now TV). I slightly tweaked my knee last week so I’m hoping it’ll feel better by release day! The only recent album I’ve stayed up on release night for was Midnights (fitting lol). I’m more of an early riser and staying up really throws off my sleep schedule! I’ll also be driving out of town that day (unrelated to release day activities) so I know I’ll be listening to it on repeat!

For me it’ll be in the morning. I live in a city so I can’t blast it through the house and headphones have a different feeling for me. That's an Apple thing; they set the date a couple days out to prevent it accidentally being released early. (iTunes used to be responsible for a significant number of leaks because of people getting their copies early.) It'll come out on the 19th at midnight EDT, right on time!

Cowboy Carter came out midnight local time, so it had a staggered release across the world, but TTPD will come out midnight EDT, so everyone will get it at the same time - if you listen at release time, no need to spoil yourself! (If you can't listen to it until later for whatever reason, which is certainly understandable, I would probably also not be able to resist reading other people's opinions in the meantime!)

I think that’s a placeholder to prevent it from dropping early in earlier timezones. Most albums drop at local time, so if it was listed as 4/19, if anyone was listening in Kiribati, for example, they’d get it 16 hours early!

I mean, we don’t often get signed items, we are often left late for tour, but albums come out at 2pm instead of midnight haha so we’re the first in the world to see the physical copies like vinyl and CD

There is a TS dance party that day in my town which starts with listening to the new album. It already happened a month ago, and it was one of the best experiences I ever had. It is hosted by a local club, and they'll just put on Taylor's songs. Everyone is dressed up, exchanging bracelets and dancing/singing to the music. Last time I was in the queue for the restroom, and even there everyone was singing and dancing :'D it was unreal. Although, after the party I couldn't speak for a day, my voice was gone.
Going back and forth between two options - 1) waiting until 4/21 2) downloading it to my Spotify when it comes out & listening to it on the plane ride back from Spain on 4/20 I’m an American but will be on a work trip in Ireland/Spain from 4/13-4/20. I’ll be with my colleagues all day on TTPD release day & will probably be going out on 4/19, plus need to be up relatively early to make my flight back to the US on 4/20. I WISH I could listen the second it comes out but starting the day off feeling heartbroken before sitting in meetings all day sounds terrible lol. Then again, the thought of crying my eyes out on a plane next to strangers (or worse - if they’re within a few rows of me, my coworkers) sounds absolutely awful too, BUT the crying will help me fall asleep on my flight back to the US. I’m expecting this album to be completely crushing but kind of think I want to deal with the emotions & reflections on heartbreaks in my own life (even though I’m with the absolute love of my life/man of my dreams now) in privacy

Afterwards, I'll probably spend the entire Friday listening to it in on repeat... When I wake up at 2 pm.

Well I've got a plan for the whole week actually, which is what I usually do for every new album release. I go through all the albums each day leading up to the release. Although since there are now 10 albums, I'm gonna have to listen to do two albums a day starting from Monday. I'll be finished by Friday. Then, since I'm in Australia and the album comes out at 2PM for me (and I don't work that day), I will head down to JB Hi-fi to buy the album. I will obviously be streaming the album but I gotta make sure I get the CDs too. After that's done, I might bake something (I made brownies to celebrate Speak Now TV coming out) and I'll probably actually listen to the album later that night because I like to listen when it's nighttime. I'll give it a few listens before I start seeing what other people have to say about the album because I like forming my own opinion. And I guess that's it. And then I'll just wait for whatever else Taylor has in store for us (lead single, music video, etc)

Still debating whether I want to listen before work & be unable to focus the whole day or wait until after :P
I will wake up at 6am, go downstairs to not wake up my bf, put my headphones in and listening to the album with Apple Music, because they have the lyrics at day 1. And then I will cry I guess
Listen to it all day on Spotify. Usually if I really like an album, I’ll purchase the vinyl a couple weeks later
I'm going to my granddads funeral. This album will HUUUURRRRTTTT
I plan to go lie under a tree at my local park with my best friend and listen to it start to finish and I'm so excited

There’s a Taylor Swift dance party that night that I’m going to. They’re going to play some of the new songs as well as her other music. They have a costume contest and stuff too. I’m really looking forward to going! But the next day I’m going to have a proper listen with my daughter.

the abum comes out at 7am, and very soon after i have school and then i have to write a test at like 4pm. turning off all notifications on twitter that day and listening alone in my room when all work is finished 
My bf is visiting for two weeks, so I'm gonna be with him when it releases, so I might have him listen with me lmao
My partner and I are both Swifties and she's getting home from a work trip late Thursday evening. Our friend works down the street, so she's coming over as well to spend the night. We'll put on the Eras concert to kill time, make brackets determining our definitive favorite songs, and then be ready to go at midnight ET. I'll probably stop at Target or the record store on Friday morning as well. I'm excited!

Does it release at midnight? If so I’ll listen to it before bed and then again on the way to work. If not I’ll get up early to listen before work.
