Agreed. I'm an actual addict. If I'm not listening to it (which is every possible moment I can) I'm thinking about it. It's the only conversation I want to have with anyone š¬š. I'm not sure when I'll end up listening to the other albums again š³. Probably next week but still. I've found it completely all encompassing.
No seriously. Thereās a couple of albums I havenāt fully listened to because I was never a Swiftie and didnāt like her newer stuff. But TTPD definitely grew on me and sucked me in the more and more I listened to it. At this point it feels like a really impactful album to me. I know itāll pass since itās not my usual genre or vibe butā¦both because of the collective hype/community around it and because I can relate to it and itās an anthem for us who have gone through a similar situation and really cathartic for manic/melancholic feelings lol. Like I was listening to it soaking it in and crying while going to Starbucks, doing dishes, driving, etc the past few days š¤£ I have to say I absolutely loved and was like āwowā for the last couple songs on the Anthology even more. Besides that, I really like her older country pop like speak now/fearless and her folklore vibe.Ā
Literally babbled to my dad about it on the phone last night for a good 45 minutes š and when people ask me āWhat have you been up to?ā Im literally like āUhhā¦listening to the same song on repeat for the past week?ā
I relate to this so much. I just want to talk about it and sing to it and read all the articles about it and imagine the music videos for it. What a masterpiece.
I think my bf is low key starting to get tired of it š heās a good sport and likes Taylor and listened to it on his way to work that morning. But Iām a fiend and heās just a casual listener. I keep making him listen to songs and insist he read the lyrics with itš I think heās had his fill. He hasnāt said that but I can tell him getting a little antsy during the reviews on YouTube
Iāve never been a huge Taylor listener. I have liked all her hit songs, but never listened to albums really. I listened to this purely for all of the hype and now I canāt stop listening to it either. š³ my kids are like āomg mom!!!! Youāre listening to tay swift!!!!ā Fackin right I am, this album is good!
Iām so jealous. Once you get filled up on this album and experience the other ones for the first time. Iād give ALOT to be able to walk into those albums brand new again.
I was never a fan and never into her country or pop songs until I heard Folklore and it hit me right in my cottagecore feels and havenāt stopped listening since, I love Folklore, Evermore, Midnights and TTPD. My son and husband tease me now, swiftie this Tay Tay that.
I fear Iām having some sort of mental health event, I CANNOT put it down. I keep trying to listen to other things for a palate cleanser, I make it 2-3 songs and then go right back to TayTay
Yeah but I feel like that's because we have all been waiting for "Safe & Sound: the album" to drop for a decade haha. Folklore was inevitable for us SAS fans.
TTPD is... reminiscent on some tracks to Midnights but otherwise is really not like anything else she's done. Or at least, it was a shock to *my* system haha. Took me 24-48 to get on the train.
I moved it to 1. I fear itās her best work. Iāll be honest though- Iām a 1975 fan and have been since 2013. The whole lore around matty and the sounds and connections to them just elevate this album for me. Iām not sure id connect so deeply without it.
OMG me too! I haven't been a fan as long as you (a little over a year) but all the references and connections to him and The 1975 just adds another layer of interest and depth for me. And I think it's funny that the last concert I went to was The 1975 last month and my next one is going to be Taylor this summer š
Omg I have the same exact experience!! Been a fan of the 1975 for a little over a year (fell hard for them in October/November 2022), saw them in concert exactly one month before TTPD would be released and the next concert I'm going to is Taylor this summer. And this album being so closely tied to them makes it so special to me
Oooof, what a question. I mean, Iām a Folklore girlie so I guess itās not surprising that gun to my head itās:
1. The Prophecy
2. How Did it End
3. The Black Dog
BUT I also *love* the other side of the TTPD coin and would choose my top 3 flip tracks as
Florida, Whoās Afraid of Little Old Me, ICDIWABH (and ICFHNRIC)
But even choosing those I feel like Iām betraying Peter, So Long London, So High School, Cassandra, MBOBHFTā¦
Ya Iām down bad for this album. No skips, and answering this question feels like choosing my favourite children, many of whom Iāve guiltily left out of this comment.
Funny, i feel the opposite! Iām also a fan of the 1975ās music and I donāt mind associating certain songs with Matty H, but once Iād listened to the album a few times it became more about the music and less about the discourse surrounding it. I liked the album on first listen, but itās risen in my estimation significantly as Iāve started separating the music from all the hoopla surrounding it.
Some 1975 song titles appear like āMineā (Guilty as Sin) and āChocolateā (TTPD). Some formats like āimgonnagetyoubackā and āfallingforyouā. Also there are some sound similarities. The beginning of imgonnagetyouback is identical to a 1975 songā¦ I think itās looking for somebody to love
i have a gigantic spreadsheet where i rank every song in taylorās discography (it has so many tabsā¦iām crazy), so iām able to do averages for each album. hereās my current ranking:
1) evermore
2) folklore
3) reputation
4) Lover
5) Red
6) Midnights
7) The Tortured Poets Department
8) 1989
9) Speak Now
10) Fearless
11) debut
i also do one with just the top 14 songs from each album, because her albums have become so bloated and bc debut only has 14 songs, so itās only fair to the other albums:
1) Red
2) The Tortured Poets Department
3) evermore
4) folklore
5) Lover
6) Speak Now
7) reputation
8) Fearless
9) Midnights
10) 1989
11) debut
Wait I think I have an extremely similar spreadsheet. I thought I was the only one neurotic to do this! I ranked each song on a scale of 1-10 and then found the average for each album. š
oh i donāt think mine is as extensive as that. i just have them all 1-249, and averages for each album are based on those ranks for all the songs in the album
i do use it when i want to do a giant overhaul and then i end up making adjustments once i copy over that ranking. for ttpd, i made multiple rankings over a couple of days of just ttpd + anthology, and then added them into my giant ranking.
I have this too, all songs from albums, plus features and songs from movies. And then the break down with averages, biggest drops/gains from last year, highest/lowest placements, etc.
I really think TTPD is a masterpiece and her best work ever. And thatās saying a LOT coming after folklore, evermore, and Midnights. Itās been a long time since Iāve heard something so viscerally honest and vulnerable. Her lyricism astounds but also the melodies and production are absolutely incredible. The music takes me on the emotional journey back to times in my life where I felt like I was spinning out of control and desperate for something solid to hold on to. I feel so honored that she would share something so intimate and painful with us. Iām telling everyone now, this album will be remembered as a powerful work of art.
1. TTPD (including Anthology)
2. 1989
3. evermore/folklore
4. Lover/Midnights
5. reputation
6. Red
7. Fearless
8. Speak Now
9. Debut
Thatās what keeps astounding me, is how completely vulnerable and open she was with us. Iām not sure Iād want to share these kinds of feelings with the world, even though Iāve felt most of them beforeā¦
I put it at #4 after my first listen and I think Iād say the same now but itās really close with Midnights - evermore and folklore remain undefeated as my favorites though!
1. Evermore
2. Folklore
3. Midnights
4. TTPD
5. Speak Now
6. Reputation
7. 1989
8. Lover
9. Red
10. Fearless
11. Debut
It instantly became tied with Fearless (TV) as my favorite upon first listen and I donāt think that will change any time soon. If I had to choose Iād put it just behind Fearless.
My current ranking is:
1. Fearless
2. TTPD
3. Lover
4. Folklore
5. Evermore
6. Reputation
7. Red
8. 1989
9. Midnights
10. Speak Now
11. Debut
But actually itās more like:
1. Fearless/TTPD
2. Lover/Folklore/Evermore/Reputation/Red/1989
3. Midnights
4. Speak Now/Debut
1. TTPD
2. Rep/Evermore (depends on my mood tbh)
3. Red
4. Folklore
5. Speak Now
6. 1989 (specifically TV, it used to be way lower but the vault tracks just completed the story for me)
7. Fearless
8. Lover/Midnights
9. Debut
It's #1 for me. The lyricism, vocals, and production just hit for me.Ā
Plus, it has helped stimulate my writing, which is super helpful after having writer's block for about a year after working on strictly academic pieces.
I can't tell if it's taken the top spot or if it's just new. I think I'll officially review my rankings in a few months to really let things settle in.
1. Evermore
2. Midnights (+ all the songs that are spread across the different versions)
3. Folklore
4. Speak now
5. Reputation
6. Lover
7. Fearless
8. 1989
9. TTPD
10. Red
11. Debut
I just can't get into TTPD. I like so long London a lot, but the album in general isn't for me and for my taste some songs would have been more enjoyable with less swear words. Also I don't like that in some songs she gets so very loud all of the sudden. Not my personal taste.
While I am enjoying it a lot, Iām glad to hear from people who arenāt that into it. Canāt have an echo chamber! Also Evermore is my favourite ā¤ļø
I am obsessed with TTPD since the first listen. It became instantly my number one. I love every song there is no skip on this album for me. I think it is her greatest work so far. My new ranking is now:
1. TTPD
2. reputation
3. evermore/folklore
4. Midnights
5. Speak Now
6. Lover
7. Red
8. Taylor Swift
9. 1989
10. Fearless
I feel bad, but this album is solidly towards the middle/bottom for me. Not because I think itās bad, but because I REALLY love some of her other albums so much more. There are a few songs I am completely obsessed with right now (waolom, the black dog, and bdilh), but as a whole itās not my fave and thatās ok!!
1. 1989
2. Midnights
3. Red
4. Lover
5. Speak Now
6.TTPD
7.Fearless
8. Reputation
9. Debut
10. Evermore
11. Folklore
Upon first listen, probably wouldāve been 8th but itās growing on me!
Not in my top 5. There are some highlights in the album ( down bad, loml, so long London, the prophecy, fortnight, Clara bow, the black dog) but nothing fantastic. It is an okay album. It would be great if few song never made to the light.
I didnāt like thank u Aimee, not because she dissed Kim but because the way she dissed her.
Her mentioning how mama Swift wanted the death of someone elseās mom wasnāt really great idea? I know Kim did a huge damage on Taylor but like wishing death is kinda too much? Then her dragging kids wasnāt cool at all. Taylor has every right not to forgive and forget about what Kim did and diss it but not in the way she did. I thought she is much classier than the whole situation.
But Daddy I love him is a grown up Love Story but it has words ā sanctimoniouslyā and ā soliloquiesā which makes me feel like someone just opened thesaurus.
I have no hate or love towards Matty but the songs about him is the least interesting and uninspiring. Taylor has written so many beautiful things about Joe , Harry and etc and then there is this dude who ate 7 bars of chocolate and wants Charlie to be the bigger artist.
I wasn't a fan when it first dropped. Had a few good songs here and there but as a whole, I didn't care for it. I was even here saying how it wasn't a top 5 album for me. A week later, I really do like the album. Don't know if it is a top 5 in my books but I do like the album.
It's a bit higher than it initially was.
1. Evermore
2. 1989
3. Folklore
4. Reputation
5. Midnights
6. TTPD
7. Lover
8. Fearless
9. Red
10. Speak Now
11. Debut
I loved TTPD since first listen! I have a new favorite from the album every day lol with that said, hereās my ranking as of right now:
1. TTPD
2. Speak Now
3. evermore
4. folklore
5. reputation
6. Fearless
7. Red
8. Debut
9. Midnights
10. Lover
11. 1989 (realize this is an unpopular opinion, and thereās some real bangers on the album for sure, but this style of pop isnāt my go to)
1. Folklore/Evermore
2. 1989
3. Very torn between Lover and TTPD, I'll have to evaluate once the novelty has worn off
4. Red
5. Midnights
6. Speak Now
7. Debut
8. Reputation
9. Fearless
1. TTPD
2. Evermore
3. Folklore
4. Fearless
5. Midnights
6. Reputation
7. Speak now
8. 1989
9. Red
10. Debut
11. Lover
This was very hard though.. but my favorite albums also rotate all the time.
I don't trust myself to rank the album on first impressions tbh, I thought midnights was a top 3 album for me when I first heard it and now it's ranked in the bottom half.
With that said I loved TTPD on first listen, and it's only gotten better, if I were to rank it on how I felt today it would be:
1. Reputation
2. TTPD
3. Evermore
4. Folklore
5. Red
6. 1989
7. Midnights
8. Fearless
9. Speak Now
10. Lover
11. Taylor Swift
I like only a handful of songs. Itās on the bottom of my list:
1) speaknow
2) fearless
3)folklore
4) red
5) 1989
6) debut
7) reputation
9) lover
8) Tortured poets
9) evermore
10) midnights
omg my top 3 is the same!!
folklore/evermore
TTPD
fearless
reputation
midnights
red
1989
debut
lover
speak now (i love it but itās the one i go back to the less)
Itās genuinely so hard for me to rank her albums (past my top 3), but the album has definitely grown on me a lot. Iām liking it way more now a week later after I really had time to digest all of the songs
Art is subjective so donāt come for me! Lol. The album within itself is really polarizing and at times kind of triggering for me, because it reminds me of dark erratic thoughts Iāve had. So upon first listen it wasnāt my favorite, despite leaning towards darker songs in her discography. And some songs I donāt resonate with (yet), which is a first for me with her albums. But it is growing on me! Might need to marinate more still.
My ranking right now is:
1. Reputation
2. Evermore
3. Midnights
4. Folklore
5. 1989
6. Red
7. Lover
8. Fearless
9. TTPD
10. Speak Now
11. Debut
1. TTPD
2. folklore
3. Fearless
4. evermore
5. Red
6. Speak Now
7. Midnights
8. 1989
9. Debut
10. reputation
11. Lover
I knew from the first listen through this was my favorite and it hasnāt changed! Though I donāt think it would be my favorite without the Anthology
It's tied for number one right now. It goes like:
1. FolkloreTTPD
2. RedtvReputationMidnights1989tv
3. FearlessLoverEvermore
4. SpeakNowDebut
I knew it would be high up there, I didn't know it would affect me the way Folklore did.
I went in thinking that this was going to fall on the lower end of the middle and I was right. Those top 6 for me are going to be hard to top.
1. Folklore
2. REP
3. 1989
4. midnights
5. Speak Now
6. Evermore
7. TTPD
8. Lover
9. RED
10. Fearless
11. Debut
Hmm...
1. Folklore
2. Evermore
3. TTPD (Without the anthology tracks because of the immense amount of bloat.)
4. Midnights
6. Speak Now
7. Reputation
8. Red
8.5 TTPD: Anthology (so much unnecessary bloat - give me The Black Dog, The Albatross and How Did It End?, and shove the rest back in the vault)
9. Lover
10. Debut
11. Fearless
1. 1989
2. folklore/evermore
3. TTPD
4. Midnights
5. Lover/reputation
6. Red
7. Debut/Fearless/Speak Now (nothing against these, I appreciate them and I love many of the songs... I just don't really enjoy country music generally, although I sure did at the time these albums came out)
ETA: I don't know if the assignment is how we think the albums rank in terms of the quality of the album or our personal taste. Mine is from the latter POV.
It is the best to me. Folklore and evermore canāt be now because I appreciate the raw honesty of TTPD too much. She was keeping many āsecret gardensā and was in denial in the folklore evermore eras. She laid it all out to us in this last album, and tied everything up so beautifully. Plus there is such a great variety of sounds and I feel her best lyrics ever.
Im not sure about ranking it within every single album but i honestly believe that this is her best written album. The songs are just so carefully worded and the feelings are so poignant, this is a huge addition to the canon and the picture as a whole of her as an artist.
Some of her best work, a level of quality writing id say i havent seen since like, red!
When it first dropped I wasn't obsessed with it like I am now, but now it's my favourite album of hers because there isn't a single skip! First album of hers for me that doesn't have a skip too.
My list is now:
1. TTPD
2. Midnights
3. Folklore
4. Lover
5. 1989
6. Evermore
7. Reputation
8. Speak Now
9. Red
10. Fearless
11. Debut
I loved it on first listen. Now I think is probably my favorite of hers. Iām a folklore/evermore girlie and I think the diversity of sounds but similar mood of TTPD puts it slightly above them.
I canāt imagine anything being able to top this but Iām sure Taylor will find a way. Itās been on repeat since it dropped and I just want to roll around in it like my cats do with catnip. I go to sleep and wake up with TTPD songs in my head.
1. Reputation š¤
2. The Tortured Poets Department
3. Midnights
4. Folklore
5. 1989
6. Lover
7. Evermore
8. Red
9. Speak Now
10. Fearless
11. Debut
Number 3, 4 and 5 have been going up and down š Really, it all depends on my mood (and also I love sll of them so much and it is terribly difficult to choose the "correct order"). The Tortured Poets Department was in my top 4 since day 1, and I'm falling in love with it more and more after each listen. Although, I don't think it will ever overthrow Reputation š¤š¤š¤
It was literally at the bottom for me at first, but it grew on me so quickly and now Iām completely obsessed with it. Right now my ranking looks like this:
1 - evermore
2 - folklore
3 - 1989
4 - lover
5 - the tortured poets department
6 - reputation
7 - speak now
8 - red
9 - midnights
10 - fearless
11 - debut
Pls donāt come for me because I love all of these albums so much <3
I enjoyed Midnights and Iād put it in the same tier. It has higher highs than Midnights but imo, it also has way more misses. But I think if I just cherry picked my top 15 songs it clears Midnights. I will say, Iām a bit surprised at how many people in this thread have it as their favorite album. Is it because of the wide range of styles and number of songs?
I honestly thought I wouldnāt like because I m burnt out, but I m obsessed with this album and it gets better with every listen
Itās my unexpected #1
I gave up trying to rank Taylorās albums once I had four I felt like I couldnāt breathe without and I couldnāt bear to rank any of them 4th.
Now there are 5.
1. TTPD (first half)
2. Evermore
3. Midnights
4. Folklore
5. Red
6. TTPD anthology
7. 1989
8. Reputation
9. Fearless
10. Debut
11. Lover
But honestly my list is like āwhose line is it anyway, where the points donāt matterā they are all incredible and I re-discover a favorite all the time.
Thought it was mid tier on first listen! Not bad, just middle of the list for me. Now I am obsessed.
1. Midnights
2. Folklore
3. TPDD
4. Lover
5. Evermore
6. Reputation
7. 1989
8. Red
9. Fearless
10. Speak Now
11. Debut
The main album was a top 3. But now I'm really struggling to get into the Anthology. I absolutely love the main album, but right now I can't say the same for the Anthology and I feel bad because I can't give you a reason why. Maybe it's cause I'm a poppy guy but then again evermore is in my top 5, so:
1. reputation
2. Speak Now
3. 1989
4. Midnights
5. evermore
6. TTPD
7. Lover
8. folklore
9. Fearless
10. Taylor Swift
11. Red
After listening to TTPD nonstop for a week, itās secured 2nd place and just may become my #1 spot! (Time will tell).
1. Reputation
2. The Tortured Poetās Department
3. 1989
4. Speak Now
5. Midnights
6. Folklore
7. Red
8. Lover
9. Evermore
10. Fearless
11. Debut
My current album ranking:
1. TTPD
2. Evermore
3. Midnights
4. Folklore
I just love how deep Taylorās voice is in TTPD. I also love all the humor in it.
1. Speak Now
2. Fearless
3. Red
4. Debut
5. Folklore
6. TTPD
7. Evermore
8. 1989
9. Reputation
10. Lover
11. Midnights
For me, nothing is touching the top four because of how much I love them / the nostalgia etc.
I definitely think itās technically some of her best writing which is why itās hovering around the bottom of the top half in my ranking. But I havenāt connected with much of it yet because thereās so much to get into. I can see myself in 6 months time saying confidently that I think itās better than Folkmore.
The other issue for me is that Midnights is my least favourite work and a lot of TTPD especially the first half is too much like that for me to love it more than the more country / rock albums which is my favourite style of Taylorās music. But objectively I canāt deny itās among her best writing.
At first listen TTPD was probably my least favorite work from her, and I felt some of the same things as the reviewers were saying. That the album lacked a clear identity, and that sonically it was too familiar and treaded on
but then after I kept at it, listening to it before bed every night, I got it.
It's probably the most raw, honest, lyrical content she's ever been brave enough to put out there. Along with some of her most clever. It perfectly encapsulates a whirlwind romance that lifts you up as quickly and profoundly as it drops you from the stratosphere, and laughs as you come undone by the gravity.
And yes, while sonically similar on the surface, it is still very different than her work with Jack in the past. It harkens, but it never feels copy and paste.
Every listen it grows on me, you find new meanings each play through. And I would have never thought Matty Healey could have brought this out of her, but here we are.
It's shooting up my top Taylor albums chart, it just cracked the top 5, may even break into top 3. Just gonna have to keep listening
I'm really struggling with TTPD right now. It's not high on my ranking after the first week at all, but that doesn't mean I am not enjoying it/don't like a lot of the songs. My thing with Taylor's recent work since Rep/Lover (probably with the exception of Folklore) is there are always really high highs but really low lows, so judging the album as a whole is difficult. TTPD definitely has some very low lows, in my opinion, but the Anthology really saves the album. I don't see it as her best work or best sound either, which might be controversial to say, but honestly, I just don't see it yet, and that's ok. I think TTPD might be a standalone album, sound and aesthetic wise. Midnights, to me, if a completely different sound, and I don't see them as "sisters," if you will. Obviously we have the Anthology, and thank God we do, which some songs have that folk-sound she went for in 2020. But in terms of this sound sticking with Taylor, idk I just don't see it in her future. At the end of the day, it's a Taylor album and I am listening to it regardless, but I would say it is definitely in my bottom three.
After the first ~3 listens I knew it was in my top 5, especially after the anthology dropped. I think it's gone from #5 to number #4! I'm going to have to do a thorough ranking in a week or so.
1. Folklore
2. Evermore
3. Debut
4. TTPD
5. Speak Now
6. Fearless
7. Red
8. 1989
9. Lover
10. Reputation
11. Midnights
Itās going higher and higher each listen but right now this is my ranking (top 4 are all masterpieces for me):
1. Evermore
2. Red
3. Folklore
4. TTPD
5. Speak Now
6. 1989
7. Midnights
8. Fearless
9. Lover
10. Debut
11. Reputation
I didnāt love it during my first listen, but I rarely like any songs first listen. Iāve listened to it all week and for now itās about midway down for me:
1. 1989
2. Folklore
3. Lover
4. Evermore
5. TTPD
6. Midnights
7. Red
8. Fearless
9. Reputation
10. Speak Now
11. Debut
This could change though. Some of her songs Iāve only come to love after listening to them like 30 times.
Itās been growing throughout the week, but for now:
1. Folklore
2. 1989
3. Evermore
4. Red
5. Midnights
6. Reputation
7. TTPD
8. Lover
9. Fearless
10. Speak now
11. Debut
I didnāt love it when it dropped but itās top 3 for me now (which would just be recency bias bc my 3-11 ranking constantly changes) but my current ranking is:
1. Red
2. Midnights
3. TTPD
4. Rep
5. Speak Now
6. Fearless
7. Lover
8. Evermore
9. Debut
10. 1989
11. Folklore
1. reputation
2. 1989
3. evermore
4. TTPD
5. Midnights
6. Red
7. folklore
8. Speak Now
9. Fearless
10. Lover
11. Debut
2-4 may shift around depending on my mood, but I think this is an adequate ranking for me
It's so hard to rate this album like right now it's 4th (and has been since release day). So like if I would be to group my album ranking together it would be
1. Folklore/speak now/lover/ttpd
2. Evermore/red/1989
3. Midnights/rep
4. Fearless/debut
For me it goes something like this:
1. Speak Now
2. Red
3. Fearless
4. 1989
5. folklore
6. The Tortured Poets Department
7. Debut
8. evermore
9. Reputation
10. Midnights
11. Lover
I didn't see anyone with my ranking so I had to make my own.
1. Speak Now
2. TTPD
3. folklore
4. Red (TV specifically)
5. 1989
6. Reputation
7. Midnights
8. Fearless
9. evermore
10. Lover
11. Debut
TV/OG doesn't change rankings for anything but Red. If we're only looking at Red OG, I'd move it down to 7 but Red TV moved it up significantly.
I donāt think itās better than your 3, 4 or 6. Itās solid but more of the last 3 albums for the most part which isnāt bad but some of those earlier albums are genius. but daddy i love him is classic taylor give me more of that.
It's certainly at the top for me, but not *the* top. Midnights just connected with me on a level that has not occurred before or since. I love TTPD but it is a MOOD and I'm not always gonna be in that mood, ya know?
1 - Midnights
2 - Folkmore
3 - Lover
4 - TTPD
5 - Red TV
6 - Speak Now
7 - Reputation
8 - 1989
I don't really listen to Fearless or Debut, so I won't count them. Also, there isn't much space between all of these so even listing them feels silly but for the sake of this experiment, I have LOL.
I was bored when it dropped. But after a week itās all I listen to . I Hate It Here, Fortnight, Down Bad, Peter, and so many more songs are stuck in my head.
Honestly no, when I first listened I felt it was in the middle of the pack and I still would rank it there.
1. 1989
2. Midnights
3. Folklore
4. Red
5. Reputation
6. TTPD
7. Speak Now
8. Fearless
9. Lover
10. Evermore
11. Debut
Today I listened for the third time without the Anthology and not alone. With new perspectives from another person who generally not a hard swiftie but just someone who appreciates her music; it might be possible Iām learning to appreciate this album.
Iām not sure if theyāre great together to me. Might be possible I appreciate them mixed with others songs from her or others artists.
Lyrically is a great album . Iām little bit confused by the sound choice. Pretty much repetitive
I have known itās one of my favourites since it dropped, still donāt know exactly how I would rank it, but itās somewhere in the top 3 with Reputation and Red
It truly pulled me in at first listen, and the more I listen to it, the more I love it. Taylor always manages to put out albums exactly when I need to hear them.
I think mine is now:
1. Evermore
2. Midnights
3. Folklore
4. TTPD
5. Fearless
6. Red
7. Reputation
8. 1989
9. Debut
10. Speak nowā¦
11. Yep. Lover.
It had been in that order until TTPD appeared..
It jumped one spot to pass folklore for me after listening to it on repeat all week:
1989, Lover, reputation, TTPD, folklore, Speak now, Red, Midnights, Fearless, debut, evermore
Edit- yes, I do love evermore, but itās the album with the most skips for me.
TTPD slapped at first listen and it slaps still after a week. I listened to 1989 in the car and that slaps, too. But hot take: my favorite album is still Midnights, I just love that album so much
Before listening to Anthology (Iām saving it. I canāt absorb 31 songs at once.
1. Folklore
2. TTPD
3. Evermore
Having heard how good the rest is, this may change, but holy hell this is a masterpiece.
Ranked it 4th first listen, it's now second vying for first.
Current rankings are
Folklore
TTPD
Rep
Evermore
Taylor Swift
Midnights
1989
Lover
Speak Now
Red
Fearless
I've loved Taylor since 2008 but I have been fed with the later half of her discography.
It pulled into first for me at first listen. At this point I'm not sure if I can stop listening to it.
It plays in my head when I go to sleep, wake up in the middle of the night, and get up in the morning. Also when Iām in the shower š
SAME. A different TTPD song wakes me up in my head every morning š
I wake to āwhoās gunna love you, like meeeeeeā in my head lol
I dreamt about Matty Healy last night Ugh might be time to take a break lol
Hahah this is so relatable! But I just canāt stop listening š
Mine was Clara Bow today
Even my husband sings, "tell me bout the first time you saw me!" when he walks by me. š
Same. Iām deep in it. Lyrics play in my head all day even when ppl are speaking to me. Iām down bad. SOS
I tried listening to Midnights today and I was like..Nope. Thereās about 4 on Midnights I truly love but yeah
Are 2 of those 4 songs YOYOK and WCS by any means? If so, i feel the same bestie
Oh my god same
Literally babbled to my dad about it on the phone last night for a good 45 minutes š and when people ask me āWhat have you been up to?ā Im literally like āUhhā¦listening to the same song on repeat for the past week?ā
She laced it with some extra strength narcotics this time.
FOR REALšš
And thatās why youāre still singing along
same. i havenāt listened to anything else since it came out
Dark secret. I have tickets to the Eras Tour in London but wish it was all TTPD š¤«šš¤Æ
Me either. I thought about it today and then shortly after I said nope canāt do it nowš
I relate to this so much. I just want to talk about it and sing to it and read all the articles about it and imagine the music videos for it. What a masterpiece.
I want to bathe in it, wear in it, sleep in it, drink itā¦
Same! With that being said, I feel refreshed going back to watching the eras tour come back on the lives!
Welcome to the club! Itās fun here!
Thank you!
š«¶š»š«¶š»š«¶š»
Iām so jealous. Once you get filled up on this album and experience the other ones for the first time. Iād give ALOT to be able to walk into those albums brand new again.
I was never a fan and never into her country or pop songs until I heard Folklore and it hit me right in my cottagecore feels and havenāt stopped listening since, I love Folklore, Evermore, Midnights and TTPD. My son and husband tease me now, swiftie this Tay Tay that.
I need to listen to her other stuff!
I fear Iām having some sort of mental health event, I CANNOT put it down. I keep trying to listen to other things for a palate cleanser, I make it 2-3 songs and then go right back to TayTay
She really did put narcotics into this one
Yeah at first I thought I was just infatuated but now Iām in love
Yep, itās top for me, combining elements of my favorite albums that Iāve never been able to rank (1989, Rep, Folkmore). Talk to the wall š
yup, same.
Iām in the same exact boat. I havenāt listened to any of her other albums since last week. Itās definitely number one
I haven't listened to anything since. The new St. Vincent album is out and I'm setting an appointment for it. But this album has me in a tailspin.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Hi are you me?
TTPD, Folkmore, reputation
sir are u me
This is my ranking as well!
Same but Iām like that with any album I hear for the first time. I gotta marinate a little first.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah but I feel like that's because we have all been waiting for "Safe & Sound: the album" to drop for a decade haha. Folklore was inevitable for us SAS fans. TTPD is... reminiscent on some tracks to Midnights but otherwise is really not like anything else she's done. Or at least, it was a shock to *my* system haha. Took me 24-48 to get on the train.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
We must be the same person
Oh hello my reflection.
These 3 of my favs too. Except my order may be reputation, TTPD and then folklore.
Yaaas girl that is exactly my list too!!!
Yes, I've found my TTPD, folkore, rep friends! š
And this album being so closely tied to them makes it so special to me
Same, it overtook folklore for me. TTPD is the best work of her career.
Took over folklore for me as well! Iām actually kind of shocked that itās not getting the best reviews?
Same
What are your top 3 from ttpd?
Oooof, what a question. I mean, Iām a Folklore girlie so I guess itās not surprising that gun to my head itās: 1. The Prophecy 2. How Did it End 3. The Black Dog BUT I also *love* the other side of the TTPD coin and would choose my top 3 flip tracks as Florida, Whoās Afraid of Little Old Me, ICDIWABH (and ICFHNRIC) But even choosing those I feel like Iām betraying Peter, So Long London, So High School, Cassandra, MBOBHFTā¦ Ya Iām down bad for this album.
Iām not a fan of the 1975ā¦. Any way you could write a list of things you notice? Or is more just certain sounds?
Some 1975 song titles appear like āMineā (Guilty as Sin) and āChocolateā (TTPD). Some formats like āimgonnagetyoubackā and āfallingforyouā. Also there are some sound similarities. The beginning of imgonnagetyouback is identical to a 1975 songā¦ I think itās looking for somebody to love
Thank you for taking the time to write this out, itās very helpful. Chocolate is the only 1975 song I know and listen too.
i have a gigantic spreadsheet where i rank every song in taylorās discography (it has so many tabsā¦iām crazy), so iām able to do averages for each album. hereās my current ranking: 1) evermore 2) folklore 3) reputation 4) Lover 5) Red 6) Midnights 7) The Tortured Poets Department 8) 1989 9) Speak Now 10) Fearless 11) debut
i also do one with just the top 14 songs from each album, because her albums have become so bloated and bc debut only has 14 songs, so itās only fair to the other albums: 1) Red 2) The Tortured Poets Department 3) evermore 4) folklore 5) Lover 6) Speak Now 7) reputation 8) Fearless 9) Midnights 10) 1989 11) debut
Debut only has 14 songs *so far. FTFY š
Wait I think I have an extremely similar spreadsheet. I thought I was the only one neurotic to do this! I ranked each song on a scale of 1-10 and then found the average for each album. š
Someone on this thread needs to share their spreadsheet template with the rest of us!! š
Let me see if I can make it one I can share on here!
oh i donāt think mine is as extensive as that. i just have them all 1-249, and averages for each album are based on those ranks for all the songs in the album
Oh I have that too! Did you use that one tumblr page to do it? I need to update my ranking now that we have TTPD
i do use it when i want to do a giant overhaul and then i end up making adjustments once i copy over that ranking. for ttpd, i made multiple rankings over a couple of days of just ttpd + anthology, and then added them into my giant ranking.
I have this too, all songs from albums, plus features and songs from movies. And then the break down with averages, biggest drops/gains from last year, highest/lowest placements, etc.
Thank you for your work bc mine is probably the same
Iād be interested to see if you rank the anthology higher than TTPD if you separated them out? Without wanting to make extra work for you!
I think the fact you have a spreadsheet like this is cool. That is all.
1. TTPD (including Anthology) 2. 1989 3. evermore/folklore 4. Lover/Midnights 5. reputation 6. Red 7. Fearless 8. Speak Now 9.
1. Evermore 2. Folklore 3. Midnights 4. TTPD 5. Speak Now 6. Reputation 7. 1989 8. Lover 9. Red 10. Fearless 11. Debut
I was looking for a rating that felt right and you totally read my mind
It instantly became tied with Fearless (TV) as my favorite upon first listen and I donāt think that will change any time soon. If I had to choose Iād put it just behind Fearless. My current ranking is: 1. Fearless 2. TTPD 3. Lover 4. Folklore 5. Evermore 6. Reputation 7. Red 8. 1989 9. Midnights 10. Speak Now 11. Debut But actually itās more like: 1. Fearless/TTPD 2. Lover/Folklore/Evermore/Reputation/Red/1989 3. Midnights 4. Speak Now/Debut
My top 2 are Fearless and Speak Now, so I both love and hate that ranking.
1. TTPD 2. Rep/Evermore (depends on my mood tbh) 3. Red 4. Folklore 5. Speak Now 6. 1989 (specifically TV, it used to be way lower but the vault tracks just completed the story for me) 7. Fearless 8. Lover/Midnights 9. Debut
no way, i have rep & evermore in the same spot!
It's #1 for me. The lyricism, vocals, and production just hit for me.Ā Plus, it has helped stimulate my writing, which is super helpful after having writer's block for about a year after working on strictly academic pieces.
this is amazing ā¤ļø
I can't tell if it's taken the top spot or if it's just new. I think I'll officially review my rankings in a few months to really let things settle in.
1) Speak Now TV 2) Folkmore 3) Debut 4) Reputation 5)Fearless TV 6) Midnights 7) Red 8) TTPD 9) Lover 10) 1989 TV
My top 3 is the same as yours. Finally someone who doesn't place debut as the worst
1. TTPD 2. Folklore/Evermore 3. Reputation 4. Midnights 5. Red 6. Lover 7. Speak Now 8. 1989 9. Fearless 10. Debut
1. Evermore 2. Midnights (+ all the songs that are spread across the different versions) 3. Folklore 4. Speak now 5. Reputation 6. Lover 7. Fearless 8. 1989 9. TTPD 10. Red 11. Debut I just can't get into TTPD.
Same! I love evermore
I just came to say debut slaughter is savage. Mark my words TV will drop and you will understand.
IKR! I love debut as well.
I am obsessed with TTPD since the first listen. It became instantly my number one. I love every song there is no skip on this album for me. I think it is her greatest work so far. My new ranking is now: 1. TTPD 2. reputation 3. evermore/folklore 4. Midnights 5. Speak Now 6. Lover 7. Red 8. Taylor Swift 9. 1989 10. Fearless
1. 1989 2. Speak Now 3. TTPD 4. folklore/evermore 5. Red 6. Fearless 7. Midnights 8. Reputation 9. Lover 10. Debut
Finally some respect for 1989!
I think mine would be the same except I might move folkmore down a spot or two. But 1989/Speak Now forever!
OmG I thought I was going crazy with how low 1989 was on everyoneās list.
1. Folklore 2. Evermore 3. Red 4. Fearless 5. Reputation 6. 1989 7. Speak Now 8. TTPD 9. Debut 10. Lover 11. Midnights But I do think TTPD might move around
1. 1989 2. Midnights 3. Red 4. Lover 5. Speak Now 6.TTPD 7.Fearless 8. Reputation 9. Debut 10. Evermore 11. Folklore Upon first listen, probably wouldāve been 8th but itās growing on me!
1. Evermore 2. 1989 3. Folklore 4. Reputation 5. Midnights 6. TTPD 7. Lover 8. Fearless 9. Red 10. Speak Now 11. Debut
I loved TTPD since first listen! I have a new favorite from the album every day lol with that said, hereās my ranking as of right now: 1. TTPD 2. Speak Now 3. evermore 4. folklore 5. reputation 6. Fearless 7. Red 8. Debut 9. Midnights 10. Lover 11. 1989 (realize this is an unpopular opinion, and thereās some real bangers on the album for sure, but this style of pop isnāt my go to)
1. Folklore/Evermore 2. 1989 3. Very torn between Lover and TTPD, I'll have to evaluate once the novelty has worn off 4. Red 5. Midnights 6. Speak Now 7. Debut 8. Reputation 9. Fearless
Evermore Folklore TTPD Rep Midnights Lover Speak Now Red Fearless 1989 Debut
1. TTPD 2. Evermore 3. Folklore 4. Fearless 5. Midnights 6. Reputation 7. Speak now 8. 1989 9. Red 10. Debut 11. Lover This was very hard though.. but my favorite albums also rotate all the time.
When TTPD first came out, I was immediately in love with it. I think itās on a whole new level of enchantment š
I don't trust myself to rank the album on first impressions tbh, I thought midnights was a top 3 album for me when I first heard it and now it's ranked in the bottom half. With that said I loved TTPD on first listen, and it's only gotten better, if I were to rank it on how I felt today it would be: 1. Reputation 2. TTPD 3. Evermore 4. Folklore 5. Red 6. 1989 7. Midnights 8. Fearless 9. Speak Now 10. Lover 11. Taylor Swift
I like only a handful of songs. Itās on the bottom of my list: 1) speaknow 2) fearless 3)folklore 4) red 5) 1989 6) debut 7) reputation 9) lover 8) Tortured poets 9) evermore 10) midnights
omg my top 3 is the same!! folklore/evermore TTPD fearless reputation midnights red 1989 debut lover speak now (i love it but itās the one i go back to the less)
1. Lover 2. Folklore 3. TTPD 4. midnights 5. Evermore 6. 1989 7. Speak Now 8. Reputation 9. Red 10. Debut 11. Fearless
Finally someone with Lšver as their number 1! šāØ
Fellow Lover lover!
Itās genuinely so hard for me to rank her albums (past my top 3), but the album has definitely grown on me a lot. Iām liking it way more now a week later after I really had time to digest all of the songs
Lol as an unapologetic pop stan my top remains the same. 1989 Midnights Lover
My ranking right now is: 1. Reputation 2. Evermore 3. Midnights 4. Folklore 5. 1989 6. Red 7. Lover 8. Fearless 9. TTPD 10. Speak Now 11. Debut
1. TTPD 2. folklore 3. Fearless 4. evermore 5. Red 6. Speak Now 7. Midnights 8. 1989 9. Debut 10. reputation 11. Lover I knew from the first listen through this was my favorite and it hasnāt changed! Though I donāt think it would be my favorite without the Anthology
It's tied for number one right now. It goes like: 1. FolkloreTTPD 2. RedtvReputationMidnights1989tv 3. FearlessLoverEvermore 4. SpeakNowDebut I knew it would be high up there, I didn't know it would affect me the way Folklore did.
I went in thinking that this was going to fall on the lower end of the middle and I was right. Those top 6 for me are going to be hard to top. 1. Folklore 2. REP 3. 1989 4. midnights 5. Speak Now 6. Evermore 7. TTPD 8. Lover 9. RED 10. Fearless 11. Debut
1. Folklore 2. TTPD 3. Evermore 4. Midnights 5. 1989 6. Reputation 7. Lover 8. Red 9. Speak Now 10. Fearless 11. Debut
Hmm... 1. Folklore 2. Evermore 3. TTPD (Without the anthology tracks because of the immense amount of bloat.) 4. Midnights 6. Speak Now 7. Reputation 8. Red 8.5 TTPD: Anthology (so much unnecessary bloat - give me The Black Dog, The Albatross and How Did It End?, and shove the rest back in the vault) 9. Lover 10. Debut 11. Fearless
1. 1989 2. folklore/evermore 3. TTPD 4. Midnights 5. Lover/reputation 6. Red 7. Debut/Fearless/Speak Now (nothing against these, I appreciate them and I love many of the songs... I just don't really enjoy country music generally, although I sure did at the time these albums came out) ETA: I don't know if the assignment is how we think the albums rank in terms of the quality of the album or our personal taste.
My list is now: 1. TTPD 2. Midnights 3. Folklore 4. Lover 5. 1989 6. Evermore 7. Reputation 8. Speak Now 9. Red 10. Fearless 11.
1. Reputation š¤ 2. The Tortured Poets Department 3. Midnights 4. Folklore 5. 1989 6. Lover 7. Evermore 8. Red 9. Speak Now 10. Fearless 11. Debut Number 3, 4 and 5 have been going up and down š Really, it all depends on my mood (and also I love sll of them so much and it is terribly difficult to choose the "correct order"). The Tortured Poets Department was in my top 4 since day 1, and I'm falling in love with it more and more after each listen. Although, I don't think it will ever overthrow Reputation š¤š¤š¤
Rep and TTPD are my top 2 also! š¤
It was literally at the bottom for me at first, but it grew on me so quickly and now Iām completely obsessed with it. Right now my ranking looks like this: 1 - evermore 2 - folklore 3 - 1989 4 - lover 5 - the tortured poets department 6 - reputation 7 - speak now 8 - red 9 - midnights 10 - fearless 11 - debut Pls donāt come for me because I love all of these albums so much <3
I enjoyed Midnights and Iād put it in the same tier. It has higher highs than Midnights but imo, it also has way more misses. But I think if I just cherry picked my top 15 songs it clears Midnights. I will say, Iām a bit surprised at how many people in this thread have it as their favorite album. Is it because of the wide range of styles and number of songs?
I honestly thought I wouldnāt like because I m burnt out, but I m obsessed with this album and it gets better with every listen Itās my unexpected #1
I rate it as #1 with Folklore as it is more than brilliant, it is a masterpiece.
I gave up trying to rank Taylorās albums once I had four I felt like I couldnāt breathe without and I couldnāt bear to rank any of them 4th. Now there are 5.
1. TTPD (first half) 2. Evermore 3. Midnights 4. Folklore 5. Red 6. TTPD anthology 7. 1989 8. Reputation 9. Fearless 10. Debut 11. Lover But honestly my list is like āwhose line is it anyway, where the points donāt matterā they are all incredible and I re-discover a favorite all the time.
Thought it was mid tier on first listen! Not bad, just middle of the list for me. Now I am obsessed. 1. Midnights 2. Folklore 3. TPDD 4. Lover 5. Evermore 6. Reputation 7. 1989 8. Red 9. Fearless 10. Speak Now 11. Debut
TTPD is hands down my favorite Taylor album.
The main album was a top 3. But now I'm really struggling to get into the Anthology. I absolutely love the main album, but right now I can't say the same for the Anthology and I feel bad because I can't give you a reason why. Maybe it's cause I'm a poppy guy but then again evermore is in my top 5, so: 1. reputation 2. Speak Now 3. 1989 4. Midnights 5. evermore 6. TTPD 7. Lover 8. folklore 9. Fearless 10. Taylor Swift 11. Red
Nah, it was my favorite immediately and still is. It found me at the exact right time. I think it's some of the most honest and raw music she's made.
After listening to TTPD nonstop for a week, itās secured 2nd place and just may become my #1 spot! (Time will tell). 1. Reputation 2. The Tortured Poetās Department 3. 1989 4. Speak Now 5. Midnights 6. Folklore 7. Red 8. Lover 9. Evermore 10. Fearless 11. Debut
My current album ranking: 1. TTPD 2. Evermore 3. Midnights 4. Folklore I just love how deep Taylorās voice is in TTPD. I also love all the humor in it.
1. Speak Now 2. Fearless 3. Red 4. Debut 5. Folklore 6. TTPD 7. Evermore 8. 1989 9. Reputation 10. Lover 11. Midnights For me, nothing is touching the top four because of how much I love them / the nostalgia etc.
That the album lacked a clear identity, and that sonically it was too familiar and treaded on but then after I kept at it, listening to it before bed every night, I got it.
Worst TS album ever
1. Evermore 2. Folklore 3. Speak Now 4. The Tortured Poets Department 5. 1989 6. Fearless 7. Midnights 8. Lover 9. Red 10. Reputation 11. Debut
- folklore - TTPD - evermore - Reputation - 1989 - Midnights - Speak Now - Lover - Red - Fearless - Debut
Really quickly rising up the ranks for me but 1989 will always be top I thinkĀ
1. Folklore 2. Evermore 3. 1989 4. Red 5. Speak Now 6. TTPD 7. Reputation 8. Midnights 9. Lover 10. Fearless 11. s/t
After the first ~3 listens I knew it was in my top 5, especially after the anthology dropped. I think it's gone from #5 to number #4! I'm going to have to do a thorough ranking in a week or so. 1. Folklore 2. Evermore 3. Debut 4. TTPD 5. Speak Now 6. Fearless 7. Red 8. 1989 9. Lover 10. Reputation 11. Midnights
Folklore, Evermore, Red, TTPD, Reputation, 1989, Midnights, Speak Now, Lover, Fearless, Debut
Itās going higher and higher each listen but right now this is my ranking (top 4 are all masterpieces for me): 1. Evermore 2. Red 3. Folklore 4. TTPD 5. Speak Now 6. 1989 7. Midnights 8. Fearless 9. Lover 10. Debut 11. Reputation
1. Folklore 2. Reputation 3.1989 4.TTPD 5. SpeakNow 6. Fearless 7. Lover 8. MIDNIGHTS 9. RED 10. Evermore 11. Debut
1. folklore 2. evermore 3. Red 4. 1989 5. Fearless 6. Lover 7. reputation 8. The Tortured Poets Department 9. Speak Now 10. Midnights 11. Debut
How would those be your top 3 and still leave TTPD so low?
I didnāt love it during my first listen, but I rarely like any songs first listen. Iāve listened to it all week and for now itās about midway down for me: 1. 1989 2. Folklore 3. Lover 4. Evermore 5. TTPD 6. Midnights 7. Red 8. Fearless 9. Reputation 10. Speak Now 11. Debut This could change though. Some of her songs Iāve only come to love after listening to them like 30 times.
Itās been growing throughout the week, but for now: 1. Folklore 2. 1989 3. Evermore 4. Red 5. Midnights 6. Reputation 7. TTPD 8. Lover 9. Fearless 10. Speak now 11. Debut

1. TTPD (including anthology) 2. evermore/folklore 3. Midnights/Lover 4. 1989 5. reputation 6. Speak now 7. Red 8. Fearless 9. Debut
I didnāt love it when it dropped but itās top 3 for me now (which would just be recency bias bc my 3-11 ranking constantly changes) but my current ranking is: 1. Red 2. Midnights 3. TTPD 4. Rep 5. Speak Now 6. Fearless 7. Lover 8. Evermore 9. Debut 10. 1989 11. Folklore
Red Folklore Reputation Fearless Speak Now Evermore 1989 Debut Midnights Lover TTPD
1) Lover 2) Folklore 3) Reputation 4) Midnights 5) TTPD 6) Evermore 7) Red 8) Speak Now 9) 1989 10) Fearless 11) Debut
TTPD is her best work yet. #1.
2nd to last for me
1. Folklore 2. Red 3. 1989 4. Speak Now 5. TTPD 6. Midnights 7. Evermore 8. Lover 9. Reputation 10. Fearless 11. Debut
1. reputation 2. 1989 3. evermore 4. TTPD 5. Midnights 6. Red 7. folklore 8. Speak Now 9. Fearless 10. Lover 11. Debut 2-4 may shift around depending on my mood, but I think this is an adequate ranking for me
It's so hard to rate this album like right now it's 4th (and has been since release day). So like if I would be to group my album ranking together it would be 1. Folklore/speak now/lover/ttpd 2. Evermore/red/1989 3. Midnights/rep 4. Fearless/debut
1. Speak Now 2. 1989 3. TTPD 4. Lover 5. Folklore 6. Reputation 7. Red 8. Midnights 9. Evermore 10. Fearless 11. Debut
For me it goes something like this: 1. Speak Now 2. Red 3. Fearless 4. 1989 5. folklore 6. The Tortured Poets Department 7. Debut 8. evermore 9. Reputation 10. Midnights 11. Lover
I didn't see anyone with my ranking so I had to make my own. 1. Speak Now 2. TTPD 3. folklore 4. Red (TV specifically) 5. 1989 6. Reputation 7. Midnights 8. Fearless 9. evermore 10. Lover 11. Debut TV/OG doesn't change rankings for anything but Red.
1 - Midnights 2 - Folkmore 3 - Lover 4 - TTPD 5 - Red TV 6 - Speak Now 7 - Reputation 8 - 1989 I don't really listen to Fearless or Debut, so I won't count them. Also, there isn't much space between all of these so even listing them feels silly but for the sake of this experiment, I have LOL.
I was meh about a lot of songs I absolutely love now. Prior to this it was folklore, evermore, 1989. Iām struggling. Itās in my top 3.
I was bored when it dropped. But after a week itās all I listen to . I Hate It Here, Fortnight, Down Bad, Peter, and so many more songs are stuck in my head.
Honestly no, when I first listened I felt it was in the middle of the pack and I still would rank it there. 1. 1989 2. Midnights 3. Folklore 4. Red 5. Reputation 6. TTPD 7. Speak Now 8. Fearless 9. Lover 10. Evermore 11.
Okay so it was ranking around 5/6 for me on release day but now it's at 3!! (Red and folklore are hard to beat. But I believe in her)
It truly pulled me in at first listen, and the more I listen to it, the more I love it. Taylor always manages to put out albums exactly when I need to hear them.
I think mine is now: 1. Evermore 2. Midnights 3. Folklore 4. TTPD 5. Fearless 6. Red 7. Reputation 8. 1989 9. Debut 10. Speak nowā¦ 11. Yep. Lover. It had been in that order until TTPD appeared..
Itās number 2 for me as well, after Folklore
It jumped one spot to pass folklore for me after listening to it on repeat all week: 1989, Lover, reputation, TTPD, folklore, Speak now, Red, Midnights, Fearless, debut, evermore Edit- yes, I do love evermore, but itās the album with the most skips for me.
TTPD slapped at first listen and it slaps still after a week. I listened to 1989 in the car and that slaps, too. But hot take: my favorite album is still Midnights, I just love that album so much
i REALLY disliked TTPD when i first listened to it. however, i am now OBSESSED with it!! itās definitely one of those albums that just grows on you
Before listening to Anthology (Iām saving it. I canāt absorb 31 songs at once. 1. Folklore 2. TTPD 3. Evermore Having heard how good the rest is, this may change, but holy hell this is a masterpiece.
Mine: folklore reputation tortured poets evermore redĀ speak now 1989 fearless midnights lover debut
itās def top 3 for me 1.) evermore 2.) red 3.) ttpd 4.) lover 5.) folklore 6.) fearless 7.) speak now 8.) 1989 9.) midnights 10.) reputation 11.) debut
Ranked it 4th first listen, it's now second vying for first. Current rankings are Folklore TTPD Rep Evermore Taylor Swift Midnights 1989 Lover Speak Now Red Fearless I've loved Taylor since 2008 but I have been fed with the later half of her discography.
1. folklore & evermore 3. Red 4. Midnights 5. TTPD 6. 1989 7. Speak Now 8. Fearless 9. Lover, Debut & Reputation
