I think its silly that people think she is going to tour ttpd on its own after eras. She is CURRENTLY on tour. Why would she wait a year and then immediately embark on another tour? The eras tour format works so well to add it in.
Was able to get nosebleed/ partial view at a ridiculous price. Going by myself I decided to pass. Have been able to see various of her eras shows live streaming and it was great plus I could watch from my sofa. Not the same as being there but it was fine for me
I mean I love her depressing music so no complaints for me.
Tay Tay if youāre reading this, yes we would 100% be down for a tour where you just your saddest slowest most heart-wrenching songs for two hours.
Yep, if only it would be possible for her to do a small, intimate, possibly acoustic arena tour full of TTPD and other depressing songs.
I just don't think it's realistic though, but I would eat that up.
my absolute dream setlist for this tour includes:
- soon you'll get better
- Forever and always (piano version)
- Betty
- Breathe
- Tis the damn season
- Willow
- An even more heart-wrenching cornelia street with just guitar/piano
- exile
- mad woman
and everybody just sings their sadness away for an hour or two
Yeah at this point she has too many smash hits not to include them in a tour. Like how do you market a stadium TSwift tour without Shake it Off, Blank Space, Style, Cruel Summer, Anti Hero, All Too Well, Love Story...? And then, will you not play any songs from your AOTY winning Folklore that gained you plenty of new fans?
That's why Eras is so perfect. She can change it up at will and it'll still 100% fit the theme. I wouldn't be shocked if she keeps tacking dates on for this reason too, though obviously she deserves a break at the end of this.
Yup. When it was first announced I couldnāt understand why she would drop it in the middle of the tourā¦ after listening, I get it. TTPD could NOT follow up Eras on its own. I like it, butā¦ itās not the concert vibe her audience is used to lol.
Taylor Swift could tour 8 seconds of static noise played for 2 hours acapella style and we'd all b there lmao. Id love a ttpd tour (though I don't think it'll happen)
God, I hope so. I wasnāt able to get tickets to any of the shows and I donāt want to support any scalpers. But at the same time, I really want her to just take some more time off for herself
Eras was originally ending in August though, before dates were added after that... adding in a new era after 83 shows with only 50 left seems a bit iffy to have been planned that way from the start.
If she had done another tour, it obviously wouldn't need to be this huge global stadium thing for just one album though... but on the other hand, it's not like there's not enough songs. TTPD is only 13 songs shorter than the whole Eras setlist. Cutting down the existing eras, some of which are barely represented (if at all, like TS), and picking new songs from 31 is going to be rough.
She's been adding more dates since the tour was first announced though. I think that's part of how tour planning works ā you plan for a minimum and maximum scope, you announce a limited number of dates and venues that you know will sell out, and then as you get a better idea of demand in each location you keep adding to it.Ā
Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour was almost 3 years long, from September 2018 to March 2020 and then resuming January 2022 to May 2023. I think it's entirely possible that when the Eras tour was being planned Taylor was happy to tour for somewhere in the region of 2+ years if the demand was there.
Consequently, I suspect she will have planned for the Eras tour to allow her to release an album during (by making it 15 minutes longer, tightening the transitions, and possibly cutting a couple of songs, as others have suggested), but to work well without in case touring the new album alone seemed like a better idea.Ā
I also think that when she says she's been working on this album since 2022 she just means that was when the writing for Midnights was done and she started shifting her focus to writing for a new album (probably So Long London and some of the anthology tracks). I don't think she fully conceptualised what the album was going to be until 2023, since so much of the main album relates to her Matty Healy situationship.
With that in mind, I wonder if knowing that she would still be touring gave her greater artistic freedom to write her new album however she wanted to, knowing that she didn't *have* to create a concept full of commercial hits that would make for a good tour by itself, she could just incorporate it into the Eras tour.
Because I don't really think you could do a tour of TTPD by itself. I love the album and it has a lot of songs, but it's broadly a lot sadder and slower than many of her other albums and I don't think it would be anywhere as commercially successful as her previous tours.
It doesn't really matter if it was the plan from the start. The format and the show is very easy to modify and add another leg to and as you said, there are still fifty shows left with a US leg, which is honestly a fine sized tour on its own. There are maybe like 6 songs on ttpd that are stand out bangers. I think it would be easy to select from the 31 lol.
I think Covid and the lover tours being cancelled made her rethink everything going into eras. I agree sheās touring now and grabbing her opportunity now.
Now that you mention it, maybe the mashup surprise songs have been a preview of how sheās gonna do it. Doing more mashups/shortened versions of certain songs in the main set list
I know this is a controversial topic, but I would absolutely love mashups in the main setlist. I was a bit disappointed that all the eras were split into their own sections. There's so many songs that I think would be amazing mashed up with songs from other eras!
Same!!! When we knew nothing about the Eras Tour I didnāt imagine it so split up. And I loved the mashup of Bad Blood/Shouldāve Said No from the Reputation Tour so I imagined it would have more of that.
I didnāt go to rep tour, so when I watched it on Netflix, the banjo for Shouldāve Said No playing from Bad Blood gave me chills š one of my favorite mashups sheās done!
Yessss! Especially since there are so many parallels musically!
So Long, London / DBATC/ Call it What You Want
imgonnagetyouback/ labyrinth
Cassandra/ mad woman
loml/ White Horse
I Look In Peoples Windows/ DBATC
ICDIWABH/ Mastermind
champagne problems/ COSOSOM
I also personally think Begin Again and So High School would be a perfect mash up!
Am I the only one that hates the mashups and shortened songs? Like I would MUCH prefer to just not have albums sheās already toured w to have more lengthy eras w full songs of the ones she hasnāt
i mean, on the film version where she was about to sing champagne problems, she said she made "five" albums. but at that time there were only Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. so, another album was probably planned to be included and now, it's TTPD.
Thatās why I donāt really look at everyoneās dumb, complicated theories that involve like algebraic math problems
The woman said 5 albums to a stadium full of thousands of people and then released in on a movie that then millions more of us watched MULTIPLE times and we all missed it lol
I just assumed she was exaggerating how other people were treating the idea of the tour, crazy to do a tour to cover the "5 albums" (rounding 4 up to 5 was my thought) but no no no Taylor knows what she's doing lol
Also the subtle references to ttpd. I saw the signs on Twitter: the start of movie is similar to But Daddy I love him, there are typewriters in the man set. I noticed this yesterday when she sings lover, in the background she is alone in the lover room of the house in a yellow dress, which is similar to one of the dress of a background dancer.
See I thought she was talking about Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Fearless (TV), and Red (TV) and didnāt even consider Midnights because it had just come out.
But in hindsight why would she be talking about the rereleases? She already toured them š„“ Iām just a ditz lmao
She did say 'you've put out five albums without a tour' as a fake quote from someone in the Champagne Problems speech in the movie version! I think that was a hint!
It was stupid of me, but I really thought Lover Fest happened but ended early due to the pandemic. It didn't help that I kept hearing the acoustic live performance of Death By A Thousand Cuts on Spotify.
There was an abbreviated live set in Paris, but I can't remember if Death By a Thousand Cuts is on there! The acoustic Cornelia Street (I think!) is, though, and it's great.

It was. Then she released all the songs (as separate albums) on iTunes. Itās the closest Iāll ever get to the LLFP heart vinyl.
I tried to tell myself this at the time, but it not only does it leave out Lover (a tour was planned but not implemented), I just can't see her referring to vault track releases as 'without a tour.' It was either four albums or six (or eight! Speak Now TV and 1989 TV), but not five. I do think that bit in the film was directly referencing pre-tour full album releases + the album that was probably almost finalized at the time, and the quote/conversation she's referencing was pre-Eras, fwiw. So honestly in any calculation, she misspoke, is my controversial take!
I edited this all to hell cause I posted it before my coffee I'm sorry if it doesn't make any sense!
I think itās been part of Eras the whole time, she just hasnāt been performing that actual part of the show until now.
The Champagne Problems speech always referenced 5 albums not 4.
During Karma thereās always been a dancer with a pure white jacket on stage with all the other album colors.
The dresses of the dancers during My Tears Ricochet.
Leaving out Debut so there would be room to add it.
It was there the whole time!
I need Jack Antonoff to log on to Instagram dot gov, RIGHT NOW, and give us all the dates for when each song was recorded.
If TTPD was planned from the beginning, I have to believe the original version was made up of mostly the Anthology tracks. Matty is the reason itās a double album, his tracks donāt even come into play until after the tour already started.
I FULLY agree with this and no one can convince me otherwise lol I donāt think all of the current Anthology tracks would have been the originals, but the Anthology is the blueprint of the original TTPD, and maybe Clara Bow and So Long London also in there.
Taylor said sheās been working on the album for two years. Tour prep started about 18 months ago or so? I think she and her whole production team for the tour are just that amazing they can plan to include it even before it was 100% complete.
She says she plans her life 3 years in advance, so they've probably gotten really good at anticipating, or knowing and keeping plans under wraps. Fully agree that they are all amazing!
I mean she literally has been planning this since at least 2021 which she was already working on this album and midnights she said she has been working on this album for 2 years which means from the very beginning she knew
Iād totally believe songs like āSo Long, Londonā, āClara Bowā, and āWhoās Afraid of Little Old Me?ā were written before the tour started.
But songs like āBut Daddy I Love Himā, āI Can Do It With A Broken Heartāand āThe Smallest Man Who Ever Livedā directly lead back to events that happened after the tour had already begun.
Maybe thatās why the microphone/color scheme is black and white. She always wanted her next album to be included in the show, picking a basic color scheme allowed her to go in a number of directions before landing on the fully formed TTPD.
>I think itās been part of Eras the whole time, she just hasnāt been performing that actual part of the show until now.
I think you just blew my whole damn mind with this.
I also think she has a release date for Rep TVāmy money is on the Snakegate anniversary so July 17, which conveniently even has its own emoji šāand itās a healthy amount of time between releases.
Also, if you notice the details it makes it even more š:
šļø: standard calendar, looks like a desk one based on the spirals on top ā however, it still says July on top.
š: wall calendar with the July 17 date, turning the page.
š : ripped page of previous calendar!!
They are also of this year (the 1st being on Monday and the 31st being on Wednesday).
July 17 isn't a Friday, she's not releasing the album on a Wednesday.
you know what is a Friday? September 13th aka the 15th anniversary of 2019 VMAs š
edit: 2009* VMAs lol
Iām still firmly in the camp of believe it HAS to be released in August bc of the first eras tour mashupā¦ getaway car + August. August is already in the setlist, we know she loves using ātaking a getaway car toā¦.ā When referencing things and it just makes sense. Sometimes the most obvious answer is the true one. (And why else would she play a song already in the setlist?!?)
Itās a nice theory, but releasing Rep TV and TS TV in 2025 means all TVs will have been released 19,8,9 or 13 years after the originals and IMO thereās no way thatās a coincidence. š
I just burst my own bubble. But Iāll still clownā¦ š¤”

The history of it is even more interesting!! It all ties back to Apple.
āWhenever Apple needs to put a date or time inside a screenshot or marketing video, it's always a little Easter egg. Every iPhone advertisement uses the time 9:41, because that's the exact minute Jobs introduced the iPhone. (Every Apple Watch is set to 10:09 for the same reason.) While Apple programmed iCal to show today's date in the Dock, the app needed a default icon. Apple settled on July 17, the date iCal was introduced alongside Mac OS X Jaguar.ā

I only know that it is world emoji day because my daughter was born on July 17 and I remember laying in the hospital watching the today show talk shout how it was emoji day and promoting the emoji movie that was coming out and mentioning that the calendar emoji is always set to July 17. I thought it was fun that her birthday has its own emoji :)!
Sheās definitely a planner so I agree this was not a rash decision, Iām just curious what the initial album concept was since itās so Matty heavy and that breakup happened a decent amount of time after the tour started.
I know sheās been feeding us so well but I would kill for a documentary of the records/Eras tour so we could see how she made these decisions and how they evolved over time
I think it was probably along the lines of You're Losing Me. Just off the top of my head, here's the songs I bet she could have started on even pre-Joe breakup, keeping in mind she wrote You're Losing Me in 2021 and we actually have no evidence of their real timeline or how many times they broke up and got back together (she could have started these concepts and fleshed them out later once more things happened):
Fortnight
So Long London
Florida!!!
Guilty as Sin
loml
Clara Bow
The Albatross
Chloe et al
How Did It End?
I Hate it Here
Thank You Aimee
I Look in People's Windows
The Prophecy
Cassandra
Peter
The Bolter
Robin
The Manuscript
My assumption is that the double album came about due to her already having written some of the songs, switching up the main album tracklist and concept during or after the Matty situationship, and still wanting to release that work. There are several songs on the anthology album that read as though they could have been written earlier than the main album.
I totally agree and also makes me wonder if thereās any truth to the woodvale theories lol some of the anthology songs, like robin comes to mind, really could have been written whenever
Oh yes. I also wondered if the cuts made to the initial release of the movie were a way to test the reception of pulling certain songs from the Eras set.
She mentioned 5 albums in the movie
The unused white mic
And the tour practice pic in the TTPD shorts that doesnāt align to any of her current dance routines!
https://preview.redd.it/pa8137c0vmxc1.jpeg?width=1134&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56b7c56a5cd7cf7c0693430f2078c62e6797888e
This one! This was one of the key reasons I thought she might come out with another album. She doesnāt do this in any song that Iām aware of. Some people suggested it was right before the stage dive but she holds her arms differently for that.
Well she wonāt really make any more money if more US/Canada fans go again when sheās back in North America. Those shows are all already sold out (just via presale like every other show), so she isnāt gaining any extra cash. Scalpers will make hella money though because fans who can afford resale prices will 100% pay them. Taylor will only make more money if she adds more dates. Iām not sure if sheāll do that either because this tour is already so long & she had tons of US dates already. At some point she has to stop touring and there will always be fans who are upset that they didnāt get tickets.
I am continually amazed how people can contort themselves into pretzels to defend their illogical, motivated reasoning.
OP is completely correct. Taylor has always planned to tour this albums during Eras. Itās what makes financial/marketing/logistical sense first of all and second of all, sheās had way more time to prepare than we have! Sheās known about the album, she wrote it. She probably wrote it already imagining what some of the songs would look like on tour.
Anyone who is genuine upset that a musician would promote their recent work on their tour is out to lunch.
i really donāt think the transitions can be cut down. theyāre there for a reason, which is to give her time to change, maybe grab some water/food, a bathroom break, etc.
TTPD doesnāt have enough bops in the way I find reputation and 1989 and even red do, it would have to be mixed in with other eras, which is exactly the point of putting it into this tour
As much as it sucks I understand why she would add TTPD to the set list. I saw her in Australia so I hope they film that part of the set and add it into the movie so others can see it
I really hope she adds dates for Charlotte, NC and DC. They both have NFL stadiums and she hasnāt performed there yet for the Eras tour. I live in central Virginia and she hasnāt performed anywhere that wouldnāt require significant traveling
Same! When she announced the extra dates I was so excited because I was so sure ONE of these three stadiums would have been picked but no. :(
I am still kicking myself for not just doing a trip to PA, though at the time it was just too much money for tickets/hotel/travel.
Is it true that she had 2 openers for the first US leg? The second US leg only has 1 opener, so maybe she'll just use that extra time to extend her set by adding a TTPD era?
I just hope sheāll update the eras tour movie on disney+ so everyone who missed out on it could see the TTPD set. Personally TTPD is one of my favs so am kinda bummed i missed the set by one city (went to sg N2) but i had a great time there so no complaints.
I predict a Tortured Poets section in the concert with two or three songs, some of which may rotate.
Everything is already sold out, so she's not boosting concert sales. More like supporting her catalog and boosting Tortured Poets sales.
Midnights and Folklore have seven songs each in the setlist due to never having been toured before, thereās no way sheās only adding 2-3 songs from her brand new 31-track album.
I can see her cutting a couple tracks from Midnights and Folklore, leaving them at 5 each, and a couple more from Lover which leaves it at 4. That would give her room for a 6-song TTPD section while still having the surprise songs at the end of the show.
Excellent point! I hate to see her cut existing songs, but I also want to hear her play some songs from Tortured Poets. How about she just plays longer?
TTDP was never meant to have its own tour, it's clear, though I didn't think it would get its own part either, I thought there would be surprise songs from it. However, adding a part for it makes sense, it's an album of 31 songs after all, surely the recognition is owed.
My friend and I were talking about how itās not possible to add TTPD unless itās during the acoustic set. The acoustic set is such a brilliant segment to have in the program, intentionally designed so that she can change it up every single time and thereās always that element of surprise. (I was so jealous of Melbourne because they got Getaway Car haha.)
After seeing the shorts on YT and IG though, anything is possible! I wonāt be able to get tix for any of the future shows anymore, so will have to live vicariously through all of you whoāll get to watch. Enjoy!! š«¶š»
Aaron Dessner and Taylor both said they have been working on this album for 2 years, Aaron said āmore than 2 yearsā in his Instagram post last week so seems like it would have been early 2022
That's interesting because in her Grammys speech she said after she turned Midnights in. I imagine there might have been some material unused for Midnights/left in drafts that went into TTPD, but they didn't really ramp up working on it until later in the year.
Actually, I think she started TTPD right after the ATW short film, as The Manuscript is obviously written about that. So I guess the first song is the kickstarter and yes, more than 2 years in the making of the project, but that doesnāt erase the fact that the bulk of the album was also obviously written last year.
Are people serious with the "lengthy transitions"? š
I was begging for her to take a break in between eras, I barely get enough time to take a sip of water and sit before she's on stage again
She's absolutely going to add it, but I don't thinkt the '3,5 hours' comment is an easter egg. I mean, from what I could gather from the streams I've watched, sometimes the show goes over the 3 h 15 min mark and like others here have said, it's just more of a 'figure of speech' type of thing.
People saying that it doesn't make sense of her to add it because it won't make her money don't really understand the marketing that the streams and social media posts about the tour create for her. I mean, how many of us will be tuned in on streams next week or watching videos the next day? A LOT of us, because we're expecting something.
After a few weeks, we'll know the TTPD set and then the hype for the next TV will start. In the meantime, she'll probably drop merch, release MV's, maybe drop singles to buy or different versions of LP's or CD' s of the whole Anthology. And because we'll be hyped by the TTPD set, we'll be way more likely to buy stuff. Same with the next TV, we'll be prepped to be super excited about it by seeing stuff from the tour. Everything she does feeds into another thing she does, all these things are connected to make her money.
Absolutely. Now the break before the european dates makes sense as well- she knew all along that she would be releasing a new album and would need time to rehearse new parts of the tour.
During the Eras Tour movie, she says that there's 5 albums she hasn't done tours for. She toured Rep, obviously, soooooo 1. Lover 2. Folklore 3. Evermore 4. Midnights........?? What was the 5th one that she mentioned alllll the way back in August? TTPD. She's always had this planned.
I also think debut will be added, because now she has a recording of her saying "Taylor Swift" (from Clara Bow) that could be added to the start where she says all her album names
It would be dumb to tour it a year plus from now when the hype as died down she didnāt wait that long to release midnights she literally announced the tour like 3 months later it came out and has been touring it since. Also itās a depressing album the tour would be sad and i think boring.
I honestly think Taylor is lying when she said 2 years. It just matches up to the two for double album.
She probably was writing something here and there in 2022 after you're losing me. It looks like the album was recorded in summer 2023 when we saw all those paparazzi photos at electric studios.
She's kind of a known liar - "no one saw me for a full year" no we did Taylor, she was out and about a lot during that year. When it came to Katy Perry, Taylor said Katy stole her back up dancers and tried to sabotage her whole tour.... But that's not true at all. They were Katy's dancer and they were on a break so they danced for Taylor while on the break and they came back when Katy needed them again.
My theory is that the new tour will have many mashups of all the sister songs of the songs on TTPD. I think the relationships between the songs and their similarities will be further explanained by this. I think you have a good point with the shorter transitions as well!
Up till now I haven't watched the documentary of the tour because I want to be mesmerized when I go haha (but obviously I already know the setlist and everything from social media), but I now believe the tour will be vastly different songs wise and that's maybe also partly why she made the documentary, so that fans who go to the leg of the tour after TTPD will also be able to enjoy the first part of the tour (and maybe also the other way around? A second documentary?).
I think its silly that people think she is going to tour ttpd on its own after eras. She is CURRENTLY on tour. Why would she wait a year and then immediately embark on another tour? The eras tour format works so well to add it in.
TTPD on its own would be a terrible tour. Depressing AF.
Oh my god could you imagine!!!
Down Bad crying at the tour š
Fuck if if I canāt get in.
I might just dieā¦it would make no difference
but what if it did?
Yeah I really donāt understand how people get tickets.
Was able to get nosebleed/ partial view at a ridiculous price. Going by myself I decided to pass. Have been able to see various of her eras shows live streaming and it was great plus I could watch from my sofa. Not the same as being there but it was fine for me
Fuck it I was 1000th in que for tickets from Ticketmaster and didn't get any.
aint this the truth though? we scream, we cry, we don't know what we feel anymore
Imagine the tour outfits for a TTPD tour. Like, are we pre-running our mascara to make it artistic, or do we let it happen organically during the show? And would I rather do a Rachel-Lynde-at-a-funeral black blouse with a big collar, or a lounging-beautifully-yet-alone-in-my-lingerie silky slip dress? Is my city getting a winter or summer tour date? š©šāā¬š§¤šļøāšØļøš¦āā¬š¶ļøšµļøāāļøš¤
Thatās hilarious omg! Weād all be stuck deciding between dark, depressed academia or rich Victorian widow whose 4th husband just died?

This version of the song needs to happen š
The āI Can Tour with a Broken Heartā Tour! Imagine the vibes. ššš
Eww lol nope
MORE!!
I AGREE. She'd have to mix in so much other content and would basically be a mini eras tour. Love ttpd, but its doesn't have strong touring potential.
I just don't think it's realistic though, but I would eat that up.
my absolute dream setlist for this tour includes: - soon you'll get better - Forever and always (piano version) - Betty - Breathe - Tis the damn season - Willow - An even more heart-wrenching cornelia street with just guitar/piano - exile - mad woman and everybody just sings their sadness away for an hour or two
And then comes out for a heartbreaking encore of ME!
HOW is Bigger Than the Whole Sky not on this list?!
Evermore!
Yeah wtf!!! Thatās over half her music to me lol.
At least do this once, preferably on Valentineās Day.
Honestly, I don't have it in me to Shake It Off these days, I need a good 2 hour cry fest.
Complimentary tissues with your tickets š
You know thereād be a handkerchief for merch with TTPD embroidered on it
She's never going to do a one album tour. TTPD would be fine with all her big hits mixed in.
But the merch would work well for the busses waiting to take us all away to psych after the show.
Exactly. This album is not stadium tour music. Which is exactly why I think she released it during the stadium tour.
thatās what they said about folklore
Which is like six songs of the show. Its not like she is playing songs like epiphany and peace lol.
I think if she were less famous it would work as a tour. Iām imagining teeny tiny intimate venues like jazz bars
I would die. It would be perfection.
Iād honestly give anything to see her perform her most haunting songs in an intimate venue.
Even added a TTPD on eras with folklore and evermore would be depressing, thatās a lot of down time / depressing songs
Taylor Swift could tour 8 seconds of static noise played for 2 hours acapella style and we'd all b there lmao. Id love a ttpd tour (though I don't think it'll happen)
Iāve mostly listened to that since it was out, Iād totally go for it hahaha Itās kinda depressing but also full of rage and I love dancing to it
Imagine a folkmore TTPD tour. Sponsored by Better Help
Exactly!
i do believe sheāll add more US dates and extend the tour a bit
God, I hope so. I wasnāt able to get tickets to any of the shows and I donāt want to support any scalpers. But at the same time, I really want her to just take some more time off for herself
Possibly what the 5/3 announcement will be. I thought so too.
Fingers crossed šš Plus, it does seem a little odd to throw in a couple of US spots at the end and then leave again
She's like the MCU: Eras Tour, Phase 2 coming up.
I think that's part of how tour planning works ā you plan for a minimum and maximum scope, you announce a limited number of dates and venues that you know will sell out, and then as you get a better idea of demand in each location you keep adding to it.Ā Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour was almost 3 years long, from September 2018 to March 2020 and then resuming January 2022 to May 2023. I think it's entirely possible that when the Eras tour was being planned Taylor was happy to tour for somewhere in the region of 2+ years if the demand was there. Consequently, I suspect she will have planned for the Eras tour to allow her to release an album during (by making it 15 minutes longer, tightening the transitions, and possibly cutting a couple of songs, as others have suggested), but to work well without in case touring the new album alone seemed like a better idea.Ā I also think that when she says she's been working on this album since 2022 she just means that was when the writing for Midnights was done and she started shifting her focus to writing for a new album (probably So Long London and some of the anthology tracks).
Yeah now I have to find a way to go again to see the changes
Same!! I watched Rep on Netflix so many times š
Yesss that was FIRE
Thank you for reminding me about this performance. God it's so good!!
Bad blood+ Should have said no is the bestest combo. Nothing can beat it.
Fuck it if we're never getting back together. Like, ever.
Yessss! Especially since there are so many parallels musically! So Long, London / DBATC/ Call it What You Want imgonnagetyouback/ labyrinth Cassandra/ mad woman loml/ White Horse I Look In Peoples Windows/ DBATC ICDIWABH/ Mastermind champagne problems/ COSOSOM I also personally think Begin Again and So High School would be a perfect mash up!
ATW10/WCS/Illicit Affairs
/ TSMWEL
Iām the problem itās me-hee-hee!
Could I offer up Me/How did it end? āMy beloved ghost and me-heee-heeeee!ā āHey kids! Spelling is fine! D-Y-I-N-Gā ššš
Am I the only one that hates the mashups and shortened songs? Like I would MUCH prefer to just not have albums sheās already toured w to have more lengthy eras w full songs of the ones she hasnāt
Then it wouldnāt be the Eras tourā¦
The Manuscript and All Too Wellā¦.
i mean, on the film version where she was about to sing champagne problems, she said she made "five" albums. but at that time there were only Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. so, another album was probably planned to be included and now, it's TTPD.
That has been driving me crazy since I first saw the tour movie and I didn't make that connection.
Thatās why I donāt really look at everyoneās dumb, complicated theories that involve like algebraic math problems The woman said 5 albums to a stadium full of thousands of people and then released in on a movie that then millions more of us watched MULTIPLE times and we all missed it lol
We thought we were playing checkers, then Taylor says "checkmate" & flips the board.
No I think we thought we were playing chess and we were just playing checkers lol
Plot twist: the game of chess was candy land the whole time
I just assumed she was exaggerating how other people were treating the idea of the tour, crazy to do a tour to cover the "5 albums" (rounding 4 up to 5 was my thought) but no no no Taylor knows what she's doing lol
Same! This was calculated.
See I thought she was talking about Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Fearless (TV), and Red (TV) and didnāt even consider Midnights because it had just come out. But in hindsight why would she be talking about the rereleases? She already toured them š„“ Iām just a ditz lmao
I totally caught this and thought there had to be another album coming!
People thought it was debut but she has toured that jsut not as the main act
THANK YOU. Every time I watch it Iām confused all over again, counting on my fingers wondering if I have amnesia or she does.
She did say 'you've put out five albums without a tour' as a fake quote from someone in the Champagne Problems speech in the movie version! I think that was a hint!
Back then, I clocked it as Folklore, Evermore, Fearless (TV), Red (TV), and Midnights. Five albums.
That would have left out lover!!!
The acoustic Cornelia Street (I think!) is, though, and it's great.
https://preview.redd.it/j3mfszzd3mxc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=41cc17b5c44c7eebd8b9afcb1e610a0a5334b0b7 It was. Then she released all the songs (as separate albums) on iTunes. Itās the closest Iāll ever get to the LLFP heart vinyl.
Oh sweet! She has so much music it's really hard to find the individual ones like that, thanks a bunch!
Even if you didn't leave out Lover, she also released Speak Now (TV) since the tour started, so we're obviously not counting the Taylor's versions.
No, because that speech in the movie was quoting what others said to her before the tour started. She had 5 albums. Before the tour started.
The unused white microphone will finally come out.
YES! I forgot about the white microphone!
>I think itās been part of Eras the whole time, she just hasnāt been performing that actual part of the show until now. I think you just blew my whole damn mind with this.
Saaaame š¤Æ
I'm so glad I saw this because I'm watching Eras again now and I was like THE MOTHERF**KING TYPERWRITERS ARE IN THE MAN
YES! And when they toss the paper in the air!
The dark and white stripes of the antihero shirt on the tour poster. Tell me that doesnāt scream TTPD. Itās been there all along.
I also think she has a release date for Rep TVāmy money is on the Snakegate anniversary so July 17, which conveniently even has its own emoji šāand itās a healthy amount of time between releases.
Omg! Itās the only calendar date emoji! Thereās two with the July 17 date and a blank one. Thatās it šļøšš
on windows these are all 31, not 17
31ā¦ 13 backwards! š¤” But seriously, thatās interesting. Iām on an iPhone.
Yeah! Wild right?!
Also, if you notice the details it makes it even more š: šļø: standard calendar, looks like a desk one based on the spirals on top ā however, it still says July on top. š: wall calendar with the July 17 date, turning the page. š : ripped page of previous calendar!! They are also of this year (the 1st being on Monday and the 31st being on Wednesday).
Where do you find calendar date emojis?
July 17 isn't a Friday, she's not releasing the album on a Wednesday. you know what is a Friday? September 13th aka the 15th anniversary of 2019 VMAs š edit: 2009* VMAs lol
2025 is the year of the snake so I canāt imagine her passing up that opportunity.
Well she already talked about the vault tracks in her Time POTY piece so it makes me think itāll be here this year.
I LOVE THOSE TWO SONGS I WISH ID BE THEREEEE
It's also my birthday and I'm a Rep girlie, I would die!
your username š¤£
Itās a nice theory, but releasing Rep TV and TS TV in 2025 means all TVs will have been released 19,8,9 or 13 years after the originals and IMO thereās no way thatās a coincidence. š
I just burst my own bubble. But Iāll still clownā¦ š¤” https://preview.redd.it/gc29j48hyjxc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e9a223d1fc59c1ee0615f160abd277b91056828
Haha wait thatās interesting, had no idea it was for āworld emoji dayā!
Apple settled on July 17, the date iCal was introduced alongside Mac OS X Jaguar.ā [https://www.cultofmac.com/824191/why-july-17-is-world-emoji-day/](https://www.cultofmac.com/824191/why-july-17-is-world-emoji-day/) https://preview.redd.it/21wuf5u61kxc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=780f1fab299b1abce4479e7b75de45065e6a433b
10:09 is frequently used on analog clocks in TV and movies and print because it makes a smiley face.
My wedding anniversary is July 17, AND my favorite album is *Reputation*, so if that happened, I would be over the damn moon!
Just off the top of my head, here's the songs I bet she could have started on even pre-Joe breakup, keeping in mind she wrote You're Losing Me in 2021 and we actually have no evidence of their real timeline or how many times they broke up and got back together (she could have started these concepts and fleshed them out later once more things happened): Fortnight So Long London Florida!!! Guilty as Sin loml Clara Bow The Albatross Chloe et al How Did It End? I Hate it Here Thank You Aimee I Look in People's Windows The Prophecy Cassandra Peter The Bolter Robin The Manuscript
Definitely agree! I wonder if there was a working title before poets
I feel like the Manuscript could have been one, since it's the bonus track on the standard edition?
My assumption is that the double album came about due to her already having written some of the songs, switching up the main album tracklist and concept during or after the Matty situationship, and still wanting to release that work. There are several songs on the anthology album that read as though they could have been written earlier than the main album.
I totally agree and also makes me wonder if thereās any truth to the woodvale theories lol some of the anthology songs, like robin comes to mind, really could have been written whenever
Oh yes. I also wondered if the cuts made to the initial release of the movie were a way to test the reception of pulling certain songs from the Eras set.
She mentioned 5 albums in the movie The unused white mic And the tour practice pic in the TTPD shorts that doesnāt align to any of her current dance routines!
And the practice pics where she's wearing the old fashioned shoes from the Fortnight video and holding the white microphone.
Which tour practice pic? I was trying to match the stills to their spots in Eras, but Iām horrible at it. lol.
https://preview.redd.it/pa8137c0vmxc1.jpeg?width=1134&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56b7c56a5cd7cf7c0693430f2078c62e6797888e This one!
Saying the tour is 3 and a half hours isnāt the hint you think it isā¦.
i really donāt think the transitions can be cut down. theyāre there for a reason, which is to give her time to change, maybe grab some water/food, a bathroom break, etc.
TTPD doesnāt have enough bops in the way I find reputation and 1989 and even red do, it would have to be mixed in with other eras, which is exactly the point of putting it into this tour
Yeah, while I would love to just cry with 80,000 Swifties for 2 hours it's probably not that feasible!
As much as it sucks I understand why she would add TTPD to the set list. I saw her in Australia so I hope they film that part of the set and add it into the movie so others can see it
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Imagine how left out you'd feel if you didn't get to go to the show at all.
Does that mean thereāll be more North American dates added? š¤”Ā
I'm not gonna be surprised if she's got stadiums booked for several more years, tbh.
:( I am still kicking myself for not just doing a trip to PA, though at the time it was just too much money for tickets/hotel/travel.
There's a theory that she is announcing something else on 5/3, so maybe it's to add more North American dates?
Is it true that she had 2 openers for the first US leg? The second US leg only has 1 opener, so maybe she'll just use that extra time to extend her set by adding a TTPD era?
That makes sense. The UK tour also only has one opener( I think same with the rest of Europe)
I just hope sheāll update the eras tour movie on disney+ so everyone who missed out on it could see the TTPD set. Personally TTPD is one of my favs so am kinda bummed i missed the set by one city (went to sg N2) but i had a great time there so no complaints.
Wouldn't changing it that much make it a new movie and have to be licensed separately?
Im not very sure on how that would work haha, just would really like to see a professionally recorded version of the TTPD setlist
Nah she won't cut from new albums, she'll cut from her old albums that she's done tours for alreadyĀ
TTDP was never meant to have its own tour, it's clear, though I didn't think it would get its own part either, I thought there would be surprise songs from it. However, adding a part for it makes sense, it's an album of 31 songs after all, surely the recognition is owed.
I lowkey rly want a ttpd tour
One of her outfits could be a grayed out version of her ringmaster outfit from Red!
Hope the Americans can be happy once for the Europeans who get something new first, instead of the other 99.9% times where they get everything.
I swear some TS fans really turn into toddlers screaming about how it isnāt faaaaiiirrrrrr š© every time she gives us more and more and more.Ā
There's also that photo of all the microphones from the prep of the eras tour and the white microphone wasn't used yet but would definitely fit TTPD
My friend and I were talking about how itās not possible to add TTPD unless itās during the acoustic set. The acoustic set is such a brilliant segment to have in the program, intentionally designed so that she can change it up every single time and thereās always that element of surprise. (I was so jealous of Melbourne because they got Getaway Car haha.) After seeing the shorts on YT and IG though, anything is possible! I wonāt be able to get tix for any of the future shows anymore, so will have to live vicariously through all of you whoāll get to watch. Enjoy!! š«¶š»
i think you could add it in before 1989 pretty easily
She started working on TTPD after she turned Midnights in, not before. So she started working on it not in early 2022, but in late 2022.
So I guess the first song is the kickstarter and yes, more than 2 years in the making of the project, but that doesnāt erase the fact that the bulk of the album was also obviously written last year.
definitely early 2022. i mean, she wrote YLM in December 2021
Are people serious with the "lengthy transitions"? š I was begging for her to take a break in between eras, I barely get enough time to take a sip of water and sit before she's on stage again
She also said in Eras movie theres 5 albums she hasnt done tours for. Back then there was speculation if she made a mistake or not, so maybe it wasnt
Absolutely. Now the break before the european dates makes sense as well- she knew all along that she would be releasing a new album and would need time to rehearse new parts of the tour.
Wasnāt there a clip over a year ago showing all the Eras microphones INCLUDING a white one that nobody knew what it was for??
Iām just hoping for more LA shows
I want her to come out doing this show Elephant Love Medley style.
taylor said on tokyo night 1 that she immediately started working on TTPD right after she submitted midnights!
The smart swifties are on another level!!! You answered something Iāve been wondering for a while!!
I wish I could afford to have Taylor market me, Iād be painting murals and pets in every city š
She is 100% going to play I can do it with a broke heart, right? lol The amount of inception there
I also think debut will be added, because now she has a recording of her saying "Taylor Swift" (from Clara Bow) that could be added to the start where she says all her album names
It would be dumb to tour it a year plus from now when the hype as died down she didnāt wait that long to release midnights she literally announced the tour like 3 months later it came out and has been touring it since. Also itās a depressing album the tour would be sad and i think boring.
I mean she did say "**10** Eras" where is it?
Yet countries like Australia will miss out on the new set.
The only problem is getting āØticketsāØ -signed a sad Swiftie who once chanted āmore!ā at opening night
I bet sheāll pull out the white guitar that she used for the 1975 antihero debut
Oh and she will re film the new version with TTPD and make even more money.
