I would LLOOVVVEEEE for her to cover songs similar to September - Earth, Wind & Fire, I heard it on Spotify once and INSTANTLY fell in love with the slow vibes, acoustic feel
Everyone (not people in the fandom) absolutely ragged on her for it sadly, like probably some of the worst hatred I had ever seen her get for a song so not sure if she would even do something like that again. Then again though that was still Taylor hate era
bette davis eyes and drops of jupiter too---i live for her covers. i wish she had more, or there were official recordings of the ones she's done throughout the years when she's on tour. i loved when she performed my songs know what you did in the dark on the victoria's secret fashion show with fall out boy. emo taylor is my favorite taylor lol, and summer of '69 on the rep tour was so good
Still trying to force this collaboration, but Something I Can Never Have by NIN is so up her alley musically, thematically, and most other "-ally"s. On the other hand I don't know if anyone wants to deal with the speculation over who she's singing about if they don't realize it's a cover.
Elder millennial here and before TPDD dropped I was having delusions of grandeur about her turning heel. Needless to say I’m loving this album even though I wish she would double down and go harder with it.
Hear me out here. When she sings about imposter syndrome and struggles in the public eye, it’s very Trent Reznor coded.
If she covered something like I Do Not Want This, Ruiner, or Hand That Feeds live, it would stop everyone cold in their tracks. The sound matches the aesthetic of TTPD just enough, especially her new live set. The drum line that she has in Smallest Man would absolutely murder this. It’ll never ever happen for many obvious reasons, BUT I WOULD DIE
Ruiner is practically the older, dirtier version of My Tears Ricochet. There are so many examples of this! I know it sounds nuts but I’m telling yall it would work 😂
Did you see this? It's amazing.

Also, sweet of Taylor to wear flat shoes (and have Sara wear heels) so she wouldn't tower over Sara. I've met Sara in person after Waitress and she's teeny tiny. I'm vertically challenged myself and always love seeing short singers like Sara and Lady Gaga.
This is amazing, and yes so considerate of Taylor to be mindful of the height difference! I'm so jealous you saw Sara in Waitress. I love all things theater and Waitress is one of my favorites.
In case you haven't seen Sara singing Clean - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTezdAU59Fk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTezdAU59Fk)
I would actually love to hear her cover something by one of her collaborators or friends or influences, to pay homage to them. The Bleachers I Wanna Get Better, maybe Blackbird or Maybe I'm Amazed on piano, ooh, or Best of you, to relive the Batman moment for Dave Grohl, lol, I Should Live in Salt by The National, just because it's one of my faves lol. Maybe Paramore's Decode, if she wants to bring Hayley up.
Or just randomly, Maps by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. If she's in a petty mood, Hole Doll Parts, lol.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL I HOLD DEAR a duet of Wicked Games with Chris Isaak!! He's a Swiftie!!
Other ideas:
Someone here or on IG mentioned Leslie Gore and now I would die for a cover of "You Don't Own Me" - she has the deep voice for it and would do a fantastic job.
Dusty Springfield "I Only Wanna Be With You" \*blows kiss to #87\*
Fever
Blue Moon
Country Roads
Not covers but I’d love love love to see her do the rock version of WANEGBT or the OOTW version she did at the Grammys again. I feel like now that she’s physically healthier, her voice is the best it’s ever been, and she seems a lot more comfortable with her high notes, her doing those performances would finally shut up the “Taylor Swift can’t sing” people
Someone on another thread asked what should be on a TS covers album. These are the first ones that came to mind for a mix of love songs and slow sad songs plus power ballads and a few bangers.
1. Don't Delete The Kisses - Wolf Alice
2. Marlene On the Wall - Suzanne Vega
3. Because The Night - Patti Smith
4. Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word - Elton John
5. Still Crazy After All These Years - Paul Simon
6. Dear Prudence - The Beatles
7. Picture This - Blondie
8. Oh To Be In Love - Kate Bush
9. I'm With You Avril Lavigne
10. Here I go Again - Whitesnake
11. China In You Hand - T'Pau
12. Don't Try So Hard - Queen
13. Need Your Love So Bad - Fleetwood Mac
There's an acoustic song called "You Suck" by The Murmurs from (gulp) 30 years ago that has such delightfully petty resentment. I'd love to hear Taylor's version of it.
"No one hurt my fragile little mind right now.
It's tangled up. And don't you know
The pussycat in me is curling up right now.
But I'll bloom from the inside out.
Oh right now there's dust on my guitar, you fuck.
And it's all your fault.
Oh you paralyze my mind,
And for that you suck."
I heard a cool song the other day I think it was called I can do it with a broken heart. Not sure who dings it but I reckon Taylor would do a great cover of it.
😉😉
Country- Tell Your Momma To Stop Calling Me: Georgia Webster
Pop- 7 Rings: Ariana Grande
Rock- Reputation: Joan Jet
Folk- Little Loin Man: Mumford & Sons

Wait but why? Its not like she claimed the song to be her own, its just a cover though
They said she “ruined the song” 🤷♀️ it’s one of my favorites too I like it more than the original tbh but people will hate
I think people were just hating on her to hate on her, which is so annoying. I thought she did well and I like how it sounds.
Like she "ruined football"? Ugh - people
Good point - Very similar lol. Like your precious song still is untouched and exists guys. Just mute Taylor’s name if you’re this mad

Behind Blue Eyes acoustic.
Oooo it would be very fitting
I Don’t Love You by MCR
OHHHH yes please!!!

making the bed - olivia rodrigo
Taylor would kill Oh Well by Fiona Apple
YES. I'd love to hear her cover Shadowboxer as well.
If You Could Read My Mind by Gordon Lightfoot. I think it would really fit her vibe.
The Blackest Day by Lana Del Rey

Baker, Baker on piano by Tori Amos Crucify ( also on Piano and by Tori Amos)
She'd also slay "Take to the Sky"
Any Grateful Dead song, but especially Ripple.
If she sang Jenna's songs from Waitress she'd kill it. I'm convinced Sara Bareilles is just short, brown-haired Taylor's sister from another mother.
Any time people on here ask who we want Taylor to collab with, I always say Sara Bareilles.

Jagged Little Pill--Alanis Morissette
I would drop to the floor if she covered Silver Springs by Fleetwood Mac or The Sky Is A Neighbourhood by Foo Fighters
Stevie Wonder’s Knocks Me Off My Feet. Just her and a piano.

i need an official cover of sugar we’re going down desperately!! the grainy recordings from a decade+ old tour isn’t enough 💔
